We saw then in concert, along with Chicago last year at Tahoe..Doobies opened right on time with this song...6,000 fans on their feet in less than a second..A fantastic concert.
Saw them in 1972 and I was trying to remember which band The Doobies opened for. It must have been or most likely was Awesome Chicago! I was a young teen and it only $5 to see enjoy such talent!! Jesus saved me in 1972 also, so I quit going to rock concerts mainly because of the drugs. I had also seen The Led, Grand Funk, 3 Dogs in '72, Someone threw a 3D type golden cross onstage & Danny Hutton caught it & put it right on around his neck with a thumbs up!
So nice to hear great musicians playing their instruments ! no auto tune, just real voices and harmony ! this is how music is supposed to be played Not all the Computer tracks programed , with sounds and BS you hear and see to day ! Thank God my Era was the 70s,80s and 90s some good bands in the 2000s ! but not even close to the amount I grew up with !!!

I saw them recently open a concert with this song in Huntsville, Al, and they were amazing. I was honestly surprised at how great they still are. I look forward to one day spending eternity with Jesus in heaven!

Those of us that came of age during the late 1960s to mid-'70s era can't help but look back and snicker a little when we listen to songs like this one because of how much music bashing was done by our parents and ministers back then. All rock was declared as "Being from the devil himself" and how it would "lead to the destruction of all morality." Yet, music like this and Stairway to Heaven, Spirit in the Sky, Put Your Hand in the Hand, My Sweet Lord, and of course...Jesus Christ Superstar...among so many others, had more deep spirituality in them that actually reached young people than the "good old-time gospel" most of us grew up with attending our fundy churches. I was (and still am) deeply moved by Amazing Grace, Just As I Am, How Great Thou Art, and others, but once I got into my GTO out in the church parking lot after services I usually popped an eight-track in and had "Jesus Rock" blasting as I pulled out past the gaggle of "little old church ladies" that were shaking their heads and wagging their fingers at me and other teenagers doing the same thing. We understood the message of those songs. The older people chose not to nor realize those musical pieces were solidifying our faith, not. destroying it. In my not so humble opinion, that was just another one of those things that God used to reach His children and was a perfect explanation for His words of "Lean not on your own understanding for your ways are not My ways."
Thank you Father for all the days and blessings in my life including this band and this song. Jesus is always alright with me and I strive to be alright with my lord and savior.

Saw the concert on HDNet this month. You can catch it on DTV. Great show! This is my era, I grew up with these guys and what made bands like the DB and other 70s bands great was that the musicianship was outstanding, you had more than one guitar player, you had more than one singer, you had more than one songwriter. Everyone shared the spotlight and REALLY enjoyed performing. I hope rock-n-roll as I know it has a revival in my lifetime!
Between the radio, my turntable, my 8-track, my cassette, my car stereo, my home stereo, numerous computers, laptops, tablet, the internet, and my smartphone I bet I've heard them play 10,000 times.
The Doobies are just one of those bands that look like they truly enjoy playing their music. Watching them live they just look like a bunch of friends who got together in someones backyard to have fun jamming.

Growing up in the 70s brought many rock groups to sing songs about Jesus! Along with music lyrics of Christian music of today many of the older songs could be considered praise and worship songs!
Without Jesus I was lost, hurting, confused, living without hope, but Him bring the real joy and fill me with hope everyday, is not about church or religion, is about to come to a personal relationship with Him, through repentance and believing in Him as Lord of your life the only was who defeated dead by resurrection and is coming to judge the world and give everyone the reward that deserve,now is the day to heard His voice and follow Him a day at the time.
Had a blast a couple months ago at their concert in Oshawa, Ontario Canada. A sea of grey hair whooping it up, singing and raising their hands at the name of Jesus. Went with my son who is 41 and I'm 68...soooo much fun watching him get right in the swing with all of us. Love the Doobies since the 70's 🥰🙏🙏🧔♀

@sjefhendrickx2257 Jesus is awesome because during COVID I got really sick. No one could figure out what I had but I lost 50 pounds in 3 months. I also felt a terrible evil presence during Covid. I wasn't religious at all although I was raised Ukrainian Catholic. Anyhow, I tried everything from Chinese Medicine, Chakra meditation, Binaural beats all kinds of stuff off the internet to find peace and problem solve this on my own. I could find 0 peace and then I got extreme anxiety on top of everything else. I stumbled on something on line about the power of prayer and I thought it would help at least with this evil presence. I found my rosary which I never used and started praying hard. I was desperate! I had to look up the prayers online because I forgot them. So, I did Our Father, The Lord is my Shepherd and Hail Mary repetitively. And guess what I heard! Yes, Jesus, God HS are all real and present in the NOW, not historical figures from the past. Jesus told me "We would like to have a relationship with you BEFORE you are on your last legs. Everyone waits until they are on their death bed when we could have done a lot more for them during their life." He also said, "WE stopped doing things for you because you never noticed what WE did for you. Think back to all the different things that have stuck out in your life. It wasn't luck it was US." But my best conversation was with God. I asked Him why HE wasn't fixing COVID and about all the weird shit that was happening in the world and He said that was Evil, not Him and that the reason he wasn't doing much about COVID was because " NOT ENOUGH PEOPLE BELIEVED IN HIM OR ASKED FOR HIS HELP!" Why? Because they placed their faith in science and not in GOD, the Creator of the Universe. He also said " WHO is WHO ( World Health Organisation)?" They can't fix with they don't know. Everyone running around like num-nuts thinking they can control situations out of their control. I can go on and on but I am keeping it short. I am not going to preach bec that isn't my thing. I think the main message is God Jesus and HS are in the HERE and NOW. If anyone is experiencing things out of their control start communicating with your higher power on what to do and ask them for help and guidance. They want to have a relationship with you while you are living. If prayer freaks you out just start journaling like I did too, "To the Creator of the Universe....." Eventually you'll just put GOD because it is shorter. They want a relationship with you and they will HELP YOU OUT with Everything! They also want you to notice what they are doing for you and show gratitude. Look up Spiritual Warfare. It is real. Let Jesus handle your Soul. He already did the work for all of us! You don't know where your soul goes when you die but they do! And you may get lucky like I did and here them yourself. It is pretty freaky but an unforgettable experience. I pray and write everything day and I take notice of all the things they do for me on a daily basis. I'm a believer!!!!! It works for me! And the majority of my medical issues have been resolved by them not the medical profession. Prayer works miracles. And pray for others bec it works too!

We understood the message of those songs. The older people chose not to nor realize those musical pieces were solidifying our faith, not. destroying it.
In my not so humble opinion, that was just another one of those things that God used to reach His children and was a perfect explanation for His words of "Lean not on your own understanding for your ways are not My ways."
The band is saying that they approve of and support Jesus. That sums it all up

Saw the concert on HDNet this month. You can catch it on DTV. Great show! This is my era, I grew up with these guys and what made bands like the DB and other 70s bands great was that the musicianship was outstanding, you had more than one guitar player, you had more than one singer, you had more than one songwriter. Everyone shared the spotlight and REALLY enjoyed performing. I hope rock-n-roll as I know it has a revival in my lifetime!

The Doobies are just one of those bands that look like they truly enjoy playing their music. Watching them live they just look like a bunch of friends who got together in someones backyard to have fun jamming.
One of the most solid rock bands ever. Two of the first albums I ever bought was Best of The Doobies and Ole ELO and still 2 of my favorites.

Growing up in the 70s brought many rock groups to sing songs about Jesus! Along with music lyrics of Christian music of today many of the older songs could be considered praise and worship songs!

Without Jesus I was lost, hurting, confused, living without hope, but Him bring the real joy and fill me with hope everyday, is not about church or religion, is about to come to a personal relationship with Him, through repentance and believing in Him as Lord of your life the only was who defeated dead by resurrection and is coming to judge the world and give everyone the reward that deserve,now is the day to heard His voice and follow Him a day at the time.

Had a blast a couple months ago at their concert in Oshawa, Ontario Canada. A sea of grey hair whooping it up, singing and raising their hands at the name of Jesus. Went with my son who is 41 and I'm 68...soooo much fun watching him get right in the swing with all of us. Love the Doobies since the 70's 🥰🙏🙏🧔♀

@sjefhendrickx2257 Jesus is awesome because during COVID I got really sick. No one could figure out what I had but I lost 50 pounds in 3 months. I also felt a terrible evil presence during Covid. I wasn't religious at all although I was raised Ukrainian Catholic. Anyhow, I tried everything from Chinese Medicine, Chakra meditation, Binaural beats all kinds of stuff off the internet to find peace and problem solve this on my own. I could find 0 peace and then I got extreme anxiety on top of everything else. I stumbled on something on line about the power of prayer and I thought it would help at least with this evil presence. I found my rosary which I never used and started praying hard. I was desperate! I had to look up the prayers online because I forgot them. So, I did Our Father, The Lord is my Shepherd and Hail Mary repetitively. And guess what I heard! Yes, Jesus, God HS are all real and present in the NOW, not historical figures from the past. Jesus told me "We would like to have a relationship with you BEFORE you are on your last legs. Everyone waits until they are on their death bed when we could have done a lot more for them during their life." He also said, "WE stopped doing things for you because you never noticed what WE did for you. Think back to all the different things that have stuck out in your life. It wasn't luck it was US." But my best conversation was with God. I asked Him why HE wasn't fixing COVID and about all the weird shit that was happening in the world and He said that was Evil, not Him and that the reason he wasn't doing much about COVID was because " NOT ENOUGH PEOPLE BELIEVED IN HIM OR ASKED FOR HIS HELP!" Why? Because they placed their faith in science and not in GOD, the Creator of the Universe. He also said " WHO is WHO ( World Health Organisation)?" They can't fix with they don't know. Everyone running around like num-nuts thinking they can control situations out of their control. I can go on and on but I am keeping it short. I am not going to preach bec that isn't my thing. I think the main message is God Jesus and HS are in the HERE and NOW. If anyone is experiencing things out of their control start communicating with your higher power on what to do and ask them for help and guidance. They want to have a relationship with you while you are living. If prayer freaks you out just start journaling like I did too, "To the Creator of the Universe....." Eventually you'll just put GOD because it is shorter. They want a relationship with you and they will HELP YOU OUT with Everything! They also want you to notice what they are doing for you and show gratitude. Look up Spiritual Warfare. It is real. Let Jesus handle your Soul. He already did the work for all of us! You don't know where your soul goes when you die but they do! And you may get lucky like I did and here them yourself. It is pretty freaky but an unforgettable experience. I pray and write everything day and I take notice of all the things they do for me on a daily basis. I'm a believer!!!!! It works for me! And the majority of my medical issues have been resolved by them not the medical profession. Prayer works miracles. And pray for others bec it works too!
