I had an uncle that was a cook in the marines. He was stationed all over the world. He married my Aunt Ing from Germany. He would send his Mom, my grandmother sardines, because she loved them, from places he was stationed. They were in oil, water, mustard, tomato sauce, hot sauce all kinds of different herbs and things. We couldn’t wait to get a package from him. My siblings and I all loved sardines. When he got to come home he would cook something from the country he was in. We had sardine sandwiches, much like the one you fixed here. He wilted lettuce with bacon grease, vinegar and salt and pepper. I don’t remember mayo but sometimes the sardines were in a hot sauce already. They were delicious. We are Native American and we have always eaten a lot of fish. I think because we could catch them and they were basically free. Thank you for your video.
Compared to Sam, you use better bread, pan-grilled the bread (adding more flavor), and put hot sauce in the mayo. You also use higher quality sardines. Your creation is unique and a step up and better.
I love how you keep some of the ingredients open for others. For example, it looks like you used sourdough bread for your recipe, but instead of being strict about it, you just say "2 slices of your favorite bread.". Great recipe dood 😊
Can someone tell me...do sardines has a similar taste to say...tuna salad perhaps? Just to prepare myself. I realize they are NOT tuna but they are a fish so I'd assume they have a similar flavor...Hoping. Because I LOVE tuna salad on toast...and have purchased some sardines and simply mustering the courage to try them...Thanks in advance...
Sardines are less dry..but if youre already in tuna you should get skinless and boneless sardines first..sardins have a lot more taste than tuna in my opinion most of the time they will be more salty depends which flavour you pick..once you get use to them theyre very good but dont try a cheap can the first time you try sardines
Not really. Sam uses Japanese mayo. This guy uses regular mayo and hot sauce. Sam adds tomatos to his. He’s not the first person who thought to eat a sardine sandwich with arugula instead of lettuce

My dad used to make these for me when I was little but he always removed the spine from them. They are good
Guess I'll have to watch Sam the cooking guy to see what you'll make next.

Right up my alley. Nice looking sardines are the Nuri.
I still have to take out the backbone though, just don't like those slinky crunchy bones.
Definitely copied Sam the cooking guy recipe 😂😂😂
I used to eat them in prison as youth
Is that you Sam the Cooking Guy??
What a fraud
add tomato
You stole this recipe from another UA-camr
Yeeees ofc, sue me 😘
Exactly the same as Sam's recipe. Shouldn't you be more original and not copy other chefs food
Should i?
@@cookiitubehd672 definitely yes. A sheep following the rest. Try being inovative

You lost me w the frying pan
Meh
I'm sure that this tastes great, but so much mayo is what I am trying to avoid.
Eating Sardines without any heating or cooking? yuck
