So happy that my husband and I could do this repair so easily. After reading the comments below we made sure we got the original Samsung assembly - it went in like a breeze. The above video is great at showing how each part comes out and goes back in. Thank you, thank you.

Like so many others have said, much better and easier process of taking the element housing out. Having to mess with the tensioner and the drum plus having to take the front framing off seemed absurd. It's just asking for more trouble with reassembly.
This method? What a time saver. Took me 30 minutes, and that's for replacing the actual element, not just switching out the whole housing. Thanks!

I would not consider myself a handyman, but I can do basic stuff. This was a very clear and straightforward video which made the repair easy. The hardest part by far was getting the bracket back into place 😂 Thanks for the video

Man this was the best and most direct approach to this. I’ve used this video to replace mine today. I had individual components just because that’s the only way I could find it. Thanks!! One hour is all it took.

This video I used to fix the dryer myself 2 times. Excellent. DYI. Make sure the element wires are on right so they don't shake off later. Took maybe 30 mins. Thank you.

Flawless instructions with the right amount of caution and guidance. I think that the hardest part of the install is checking if/how the back of the assembly is seated in the duct. It’s difficult to tell (there are no tabs, other than the two half-moons … which were only partly helpful) whether the duct is firmly seated. I turned on the video camera on my phone and slowly walked the camera around the duct to check. 🤞🏼 This is a mfr feature, not an omission from the video.

Thank you so much for posting this easy to follow video! I am a female in my late 50's. I ordered the part and with the help of a friend to move the dryer, we worked together and were able to replace the assembly with no issues in about 30 minutes! I had watched a number of videos that made the process much more complicated, this was the best and most informative. So glad I found it before trying the other methods. You have a new subscriber! Who knows what might flake out next! 😊

Thanks for this! Way easier than removing the drum to access the heater box. I have no experience with dryers and was able to switch out my heater box in 30 minutes and have the dryer working again. The heating element in my old box was a scary sight. After removing the old box both elements had completely broken and disconnected. It's like they build them to break after a certain amount of use 😊

This is a great video, I watched it 7 years ago when I needed to fix my lousy Samsung dryer and it worked great, and here I am again needing to fix another Samsung dryer. I remember when I did it the last time I didn’t properly note the importance of wearing gloves when reaching around in the dryer, the metal edges are sharp in places and I cut myself last time, I’m hoping to be more careful this time.

Top notch instructions. Between the service call and the parts, I probably saved $300 with this simple fix. I found an assembly on Amazon that had all the wires jumpered already so I just had to plug the red and main blue wire in. Pretty simple in the end.

I have replaced the element itself and that was a huge pain. The video I watched before had me removing the drum, along with the top and front panels. It took me about 2 hours to pull everything apart, get the element in and then put it back together. Buying the whole assembly and watching this video, it took no longer than 30 minutes. I am saving this to my favorites for next time!

Your video was the only one to show how easy to remove the element assembly was. I tested all the "switches" on there, (which is easier than trying to test them while assembled) and found the faulty one. Thanks!

First time doing this, my dryer was built in 2014 and first time this has even happened. It blew the heating element January 5 this year. Some of the parts is different on my dryer, for instance, the assembly stand has an extra screw in the back not shown on this video. I had a few extra tabs in the top panel that um. well I had to kinda wrestle it out, it did not come out so easily. I broke a tab, not the end of the world. The good, my dryer wasn't very dusty in there but I'm glad I did it. The bad, that part getting it back in was a nightmare, thankfully I'm bendy and both arms fit in that tiny space! In all 2 hours even with giving it a cleaning. The video was helpful in the general sense, the gotchas were what I had to search other videos for.

Awesome video. It took me about 40 mins to replace. Service guy was gonna charge me $300 to include the part. Even though I don't think that was a bad price considering he's making a house call, using his tools, time to replace the part, the cost of the part and drive time back and forth plus his fuel, I still saved over $200. The part was $97. 🤑🤑

On my dryer element the red and blue are reversed (blue on bottom, red on top) on the first connection, and the black wires are both toward the bottom and blue wires toward the top.
Also, there are more screws on my holding bracket.

    **** TIP **** READ THIS FIRST ****
Set the new element next to the old element and move the wires one by one from the old to the new, you don't have to remember anything, and your chances of making a mistake are zero.

Tyler Magalei , same here. For the fuse (towards the rear of the dryer), I have black on top instead of blue. Since it’s the fuse though, I’m thinking order doesn’t matter for that component, trying to confirm that now.

  • @jwdickinson643

UPDATE: My Samsung model had a screw holding down the back tap on the heater assembly support bracket. I had to work from the back and disassemble the exhaust panel/tube running from under the dryer barrel to the rear. It’s pretty tight quarters under there so you will need a stubby phillips head driver.
