I know alot of people have told you the same thing over and over but seriously thank you ❤ I’m a single mom I can’t afford to buy a new dryer I just ordered everything I need off of Amazon for 70 dollars that’s tools included this is so nice of you, you really are helping a lot of people your channel deserves more credit
Thank you! I’m a retired nana, living alone. Because of your excellent video I was able to diagnose and fix the problem (heating unit) ordered part from Amazon, cost $26. You also helped me understand how to use the voltage meter. It feels good to be self sufficient.
61 year old Grandma here! This is by far the best repair video I have seen! My Daddy, (miss him so much,) taught me to do many things and I had a general idea of how to replace a dryer element, but wanted to see details and to make sure I do it safely. Thank you for this wonderful, simple explanation!
Thank you for doing this video! I'm kinda looking forward to seeing if I can repair it myself! UPDATE: I dismantled, diagnosed, and replaced the heating element by myself thanks to your instructions!! Thank you!!!
Thank you so much, we are pensioners. I wanted to buy a new dryer but my husband said look on UA-cam. This has given us the confidence to test which part it is.
Thank you so much. You saved me a repairman bill. My son and I fixed our dryer with the help of your video. You had great camera angles that made it easy to see and you went over every step. As a woman in retirement years I'm pretty proud that I now know how to use an Ohm Meter!
Thanks, brother. My upper, high-heat, thermo tested bad. I would have just changed the high heater thermo. I have to say that your reminder to change the upper and lower has saved me aggravation. Rock on!
Thank you so much! I followed your video and bought a digital multimeter and was able to narrow it done to the heating element. So glad that I bought it! Thank you so much! Saved me a lot of money getting a technician to do it and built my confidence to take on future problems.
Just coming back to say thanks for the help 👍. Mine was the timer. I followed your instructions now my dryer is back in working order, and saved a bunch of money! Thanks 😊
I’ve replaced a thermal fuse a few times. My dryer just stopped heating. Checked the fuse and the fuse was good. The heating element had a broke. Coil. I had never fixed this before and wouldn’t have known how to diagnose this without your video. I was surprised how easy it was to fix. The appliance store I went to had the exact part as it’s a pretty common part for a lot of models. Thank you so much for this video.
So I watched this video, found the complete kit on Amazon for $36, it was delivered this evening at 5:30 pm, finished supper went out into the garage and replaced all the parts this gentleman pointed out, the dial tested good so didn’t mess with that. Cleaned it up real good and now it’s running fine and blowing hot air. Total down time less than 10 hours, total price $36!!!
A simple step by step instruction to troubleshoot a Kenmore dryer. And most of the parts are available on Amazon fairly cheap. Thank you so much for this video.😊
This was an excellent video. So well done. My 24 year old dryer isn't heating but will run. Will do all the tests just like you showed. Thanks for taking the time to film this and showing exactly what to do.
Listen, I don't know if this will work yet as I watched the entire video before I tried the repair on my dryer, but you explained this process flawlessly. I feel very confident now attempting this diagnosis/repair. I'll report back on if I was successful, but please make more videos in the mean time. Thanks!
Thanks so much for being so thorough. I had issues with our old dryer. Checked for any lint clogs & cleared out vent hose. Nothing really filled in there. Then, checked thermal fuse. Good. Checked Door switch = super loose & not connecting, so got new door switch. Fixed the problem of dryer not turning back on. Then, the dryer isn't drying the clothes. It does heat up, but doesn't completely dry the clothes. Going to check the heating elements you so kindly explained here & will try to fix the issue. Thanks so much! Simple fixes, but without a professional giving tips & tricks, pretty lost, lol. And, hard to find anyone local that does this sort of work. Glad to pay someone else, but can't get ahold of anyone. Good learning experience myself.
This was so so so helpful thank you so much. I really appreciate how clearly you displayed how to test for continuity and replace the thermostat especially I've seen other videos as I research trying to understand how to fix my dryer and this is definitely one of, if not the most, clear video I've come across. Thanks for so much for uploading and showing everything!
Thanks for the vid! Watched your video and went through your instructions and found that my heating element also had a broken coil! Will be replacing it today. Thank you!
This was AWESOME! I had already fixed the tumbler (wasn't moving- it was a belt issue). When I opened up the back to do a diagnosis found that it was filled with lint! Turns out I just needed to vacuum it and clean off the terminals. Luckily my house didn't catch on fire! LOL. But this is GREAT because now I know how to diagnose issues in the future, and will do better maintenance on the dryer from here on out.
Thanks for the excellent tutorial. I have the exact same model. I had already taken the back off yesterday and found the thermostat that you replaced was bad. When you went through how to test all the other possible causes for no heat after locating the faulty element, I realized that I hadn't checked the high heat thermostat at top of the duct. I will test that to make sure. Thanks again.
Excellent video, very well explained, thank you very much for making and sharing! One thing I noticed is that you pulled out a connection to measure continuity on the thermostats but not on the heat element, what's the a reason for that?
My sister dryer quit drying shes send me photos of the dryer and they bypassed almost all the heat thermistor on it and the fuse!!! the element is completely baked off she paid 750$ canadian monopoly dollars for it in march 2024 for a used set... i cant believe used appliances sellers are doing this its criminal ! im going to repair it saturday i ordered a complete kit from Amazon thanks for your video it help a lot of people!:)salutation from Montreal,Québec!
Very helpful and simple. Thank you. I think mine is the timer. It's weird; it only completes the circuit AFTER 45 minutes. Before that, no signal. Appliances are always a head-scratcher!
wow, fantastic video, this one was very detailed, and you use Resistance (Ohm), whilst most are using the continuity function with the beep noise, so will try your way. Thanks for giving the list of all things to check.
Excellent DYI video! Thank you! I have a Whirlpool Cabrio dryer and you can't get to the fuses by simply taking the back off and I have not found a video that shows how to get to them!
There are plenty of videos out there for most makes and models that are easy to follow, although I know you wish it was this particular DIYer that made the tutorial you need. Quick and simple.
I've run across a few pretty darn good videos about diagnosing and such, but yours really is top of the list. Bravo.... Just curious why you wouldn't check the thermal fuse first though, as I thought they would generally be the most potential problem.

Thanks for the in-depth video. I followed your instructions and am now a dryer repairman. Another "tool" for the "toolbox."
Excellent!
I am excited. With 5 men in my home and no one has fixed the dryer in months, I will make an attempt. :) I am so excited actually :D
Thank you!!!
your instructions are way easier to follow through, unlike other videos.
I'm a single mother, and I could just do it myself.
Wishing you the best and your upcoming project

Nice video. Most videos stop when they find the issue. I appreciate that you showed everything else to check as if that was not the issue. Thanks!
Best video I've seen on UA-cam for diagnosing dryer issues. Mine was a broken heating element. Thanks a lot for the simple explanations
You're welcome!

I agree you kept it simple the best repair video I've ever seen
This is an excellent video, it’s the same dryer we have. Looks like our problem is the high heat fuse, the first one he tested.
