- How to Fix a Dryer That Has No Heat. Complete Instructions on how to find and fix no heat problems in a dryer. This is a common problem and a pretty simple and straight forward diagnosis and repair to make on a standard Whirlpool-style dryers, that cause it not to heat and dry your clothes. There are not many parts in dryers and the repair should be straight forward.
If you're getting heat but things are still damp, you may have air flow issues in the dryer or in the venting and I will show you how to do that in this video.
You will also learn ways to make your dryer more efficient and how to properly attach and place the vent hose for the dryer's best performance.

61 year old Grandma here! This is by far the best repair video I have seen! My Daddy, (miss him so much,) taught me to do many things and I had a general idea of how to replace a dryer element, but wanted to see details and to make sure I do it safely. Thank you for this wonderful, simple explanation!
Wow, thanks!… and keep up the good work.
Hey girl. How you doin? ;)
well said! best repair video...
Adding this even tho it's been posted 200 times. Best explanation and presentation of any dryer testing video I've seen.
Glad to hear that. Thanks
I know alot of people have told you the same thing over and over but seriously thank you ❤ I’m a single mom I can’t afford to buy a new dryer I just ordered everything I need off of Amazon for 70 dollars that’s tools included this is so nice of you, you really are helping a lot of people your channel deserves more credit
wishing you the best and God's blessing....
Thank you for doing this video! I'm kinda looking forward to seeing if I can repair it myself! UPDATE: I dismantled, diagnosed, and replaced the heating element by myself thanks to your instructions!! Thank you!!!
Glad it helped!
Thanks man, you taught this “common laboring rube” not only how to fix his dryer, but also how to do a continuity test.
Thank you so much, we are pensioners. I wanted to buy a new dryer but my husband said look on UA-cam. This has given us the confidence to test which part it is.
Glad it was helpful!
Another "Thank you" comment to say you just saved me a bunch of money and hassle!
Good to hear!
I agree you kept it simple the best repair video I've ever seen
Perfect video. I have the same dryer and exactly the same broken heating element. Thanks!
Wow, the most helpful dryer troubleshooting video I’ve seen as a novice homeowner I feel like I can replicate. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!...and you can do it!
This was AWESOME! I had already fixed the tumbler (wasn't moving- it was a belt issue). When I opened up the back to do a diagnosis found that it was filled with lint! Turns out I just needed to vacuum it and clean off the terminals. Luckily my house didn't catch on fire! LOL. But this is GREAT because now I know how to diagnose issues in the future, and will do better maintenance on the dryer from here on out.
I am excited. With 5 men in my home and no one has fixed the dryer in months, I will make an attempt. :) I am so excited actually :D
Thank you Sir! Your video is straight and to the point. My dryer is now fixed.
Congratulations and glad I could help
by far the best video on internet today, you saved my day and make me look like a hero. thanks bro
Way to go and glad it helped
Thanks for the in-depth video. I followed your instructions and am now a dryer repairman. Another "tool" for the "toolbox."
Excellent!
Just coming back to say thanks for the help 👍. Mine was the timer. I followed your instructions now my dryer is back in working order, and saved a bunch of money! Thanks 😊
Great to hear!
Thank you- I did as instructed and my heat element is broken (like the one in your video). I appreciate you!!!
Listen, I don't know if this will work yet as I watched the entire video before I tried the repair on my dryer, but you explained this process flawlessly. I feel very confident now attempting this diagnosis/repair. I'll report back on if I was successful, but please make more videos in the mean time. Thanks!
God bless you with wisdom, ability and favor…
Thanks so much for being so thorough. I had issues with our old dryer. Checked for any lint clogs & cleared out vent hose. Nothing really filled in there. Then, checked thermal fuse. Good. Checked Door switch = super loose & not connecting, so got new door switch. Fixed the problem of dryer not turning back on.
Then, the dryer isn't drying the clothes. It does heat up, but doesn't completely dry the clothes. Going to check the heating elements you so kindly explained here & will try to fix the issue. Thanks so much!
Simple fixes, but without a professional giving tips & tricks, pretty lost, lol. And, hard to find anyone local that does this sort of work. Glad to pay someone else, but can't get ahold of anyone. Good learning experience myself.
This was an excellent video. So well done. My 24 year old dryer isn't heating but will run. Will do all the tests just like you showed. Thanks for taking the time to film this and showing exactly what to do.
Glad it helped and wishing you success on your repair

Thank you, great video.
You are welcome. Thanks for sharing that
I've run across a few pretty darn good videos about diagnosing and such, but yours really is top of the list. Bravo.... Just curious why you wouldn't check the thermal fuse first though, as I thought they would generally be the most potential problem.

I have an old Frigidaire dryer with the circular coil element.
I recently replaced the ball hitch & bracket along with the belt to eliminate squeaking. Everything was fine- for a day.
Now it turns but no heat.
So far I checked to make sure I have 240 volts.
Checked continuity on heating coil
Thermal fuse and thermostat.
All seem to be okay.
My wife looked online and was convinced it’s the thermal fuse so I ordered a replacement and put it in.
Still no heat.
Then to test I pulled the drum out checked connections and turned it on. Every time I turn it on there is a distinct “pop” sound. No sparks, smoke or smell- just the little pop.
Any suggestions?
nice job!
Thanks!
Thanks 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you!!!!
You're welcome!
Just picked up a multimeter. Gonna diagnose my Estate dryer by Maytag. Looks almost identical to yours. Wish me luck!
You can do it
Excellent video! Maybe consider teaching!
Great video. Have you fixed any dryers with a heat pump?
Thank you
You're welcome
Your awesome
Thanks
You are welcome
Hello, the heating eliminate went out so we bought a kit, but once we put everything back together it gets hot enough it blows the thermal fuse, I changed out all the Thermal Cutout Fuse, High Limit thermostat, and the Cycling thermostat. the vents are clear out side and inside the dryer vent is too, I never used the L250-80F fuse not sure if it suppose to go on top where the Thermal Cutout fuse goes are what. I have the 309F Thermal Fuse Cutout Up top on the heating
eliminate. I have the High Limit going to the Heating Elements Terminals. and i have the L155-25f fuse going to the Cycling Thermostat.
It really is the best video, but every single test for me checks out and still no heat?
🤘🏼thanks!
You bet!
Can you save the old heating element and use any of those heating element springs to repair your new one if one was to break down the road ?
the arrow plus sign on the multimeter is continuity too.
Here’s a real test for all you diagnostic guys out there. I have a basic Maytag electric dryer less than 5 years old that keeps blowing the fuse at the fusebox. The dryer is getting power and it lights off just fine and gets hot. It runs for approx 10-15 mins then blows the breaker. I have watched approx 12 videos including this one on how to diagnose the various switches, thermistor, thermostat and parts inside the back service panel. I have used the multimeter to test all those parts and I am getting continuity on everything. What could be causing this thing to blow the breaker???
Echo srm run great for 20-30 minutes and then start to run rough and lost power, after a few hours later it run great again for 20-30 minutes and then start to run rough and lost power again.
Thank You For Your Video, Sir. It Really Came In Handy. My High Heat Thermostat Was The Issue. I Replaced It With A New One And It Heats Better Than Before. Should I Still Change Out The Bottom Thermostat Even Though That One Wasn't The Issue? I'm Asking Because You Mentioned It In Your Video. The Bottom Thermostat Read "0.00" On The Multimeter While The High Heat Thermostat Didn't Even Give A Response. Also, The Thermostat Just Under The Fuse Read At "7.07" And The Fuse And Heating Element Both Read "0.00."
If it’s working I would leave it alone for now
Hello. Was wondering what your advice would if the dryer is inconsistent and some washes it drys and others it won’t. I appreciate and help. Thanks God bless!
Could be a number of different things. Try a different setting on your timer for drying and see if that fixes it. Could be a thermostat going bad or maybe A loose connection… Etc. also cleaning the ductwork in the dryer and ductwork going outside May help but probably not your problem.
Mad respect boss do you have a part #
