I once worked at a venue where the Neal Morse Band had a gig - Neal Morse is probably the nicest human being behind the scenes.
20 years and it seems like yesterday. Still sounds great!
you prolly dont care but does any of you know a way to get back into an Instagram account..?
I somehow lost the login password. I would appreciate any tips you can offer me
@Soren Langston Instablaster ;)
Wow Genesis and The Beatles! You can't beat that!
the pure Transatlantic ! only this four fabulous Guys ... without any Net. Great !!
I've been a Spock's Beard and Dream Theater fan for close to 20 years now. And attended concerts for both bands in Detroit on 2 occasions for both. It was only natural to know this work had to be great before purchasing the CD at a local record store. Well, needless to say I was very satisfied with my selection within the first 5 minutes of listening. This is rock music at its finest, Call it Prog or whatever. This conglomeration of talent will rock your guts. PLAY IT LOUD!
I just learned this band exists!!! Accidentally happened on their cover of Procol Harum's "In Held ('Twas) in I".... Now i have been watching this show for less then 10 minutes but i am totally enjoying what i am hearing! I am only familiar with Mike Portnov. Other members are new to me, and i have never listened to "Spock's Beard". The singer is such an artist!!! His playing, his artistry and his voice somewhat reminded me of "Kansas". This is an awesome band. I'll check out for more material. This is something to be listened to by albums. Thanks for posting such a wonderful show! Hello from Ukraine.
Couldn’t have said it better.
20 years ago i was the first getting the album S.M.P.T.E
Can you fakinnn' imagine i was 22 where did the time go?
I can....I was 24 in 2000 when I discovered this band. I bought Bridge Across Forever at Circuit City! Then I bought SMPTe after listening to it cause I loved it so much. Now I am 45 lol
@@jasonnichols6164 hahaha cool
Because i am a MP die hard fan,i followed everything he did/does still,so i waited for this album with passion at that time,it took me months to get it home in 2000😁
Now with technology few days😉
Man, they seem so young....wait they WERE young!
This is raw and at the same time full! Awesome!
a transatlantic show with less than 2 hours? wow, this is really a classic show haha
Their current tour peaks at 3 hours!
Holy shit, 17 years have passed!! They look so young. And I was only 20 back then!!
Fantastic! And amazing audio quality and dynamics, more livier than nowadays
Very cool!! Strawberry fields forever!! back to the oldies.....great video, audio and one of my favorites bands
15 years on and how Pete isn't singing lead vocals for Dream Theater is a true mystery.
Because he can't sing?
I was at the NEARfest show a couple days before this show. Unfortunately, the band was plagued with technical problems. Still glad I saw them as they were one of the bands I was really looking forward to seeing. Thanks for posting this complete show. :)
you would never believe this fucking band is a side project for these guys
When Neal Morse sang "Once you get to the water" - Portnoy realised he actually needs some :D 23:34
Awesome muso’s. Tight sound. Crazy good collaboration!
Time flies too damn fast dang it! :-(
Absolutely incredible.
Thank you so much for this!
Very very nice addition! Thanks!
What can i say... Thank you guys. Cheers.
I remember sitting at the upper level of the TLA for this show with a Kodak disposal camera. The ushers saw the flash and took it off me halfway through the show. Wondering now if any of the flashes here were mine! haha. Anyway, amazing show.
Strawberry Fields Forever 39:51 😍
mystery train already took me away!
Amazing
Great escape starts at 1:32:42. To hear the vocals we had after fish left but before h joined. Would have been fascinating to have been at that fan club gig with Pete as a front man.
I love Pete - he is so cute.
2021... And sounds fresh af
Valeu !!! esses caras estão cada vez melhor. Gostei também do cover dos Beatles e do Rollingstones.
Tremendo concierto !!!!!
Look how young they are all are. Just kids
Great band.
I saw them on this tour in Cambridge, MA (just outside of Boston). Must have been within a week of this show I'm sure. Small basement club, there were probably only 100 of us there. I was right against the stage in front of Mike, I could reach out and touch him if I wanted to (I didn't! 😄). It was a great show... but in the middle of one of the songs Neal's keyboard stand collapsed. It was very "Spinal Tap-ish". I think Mike made a funny joke about it. Concert memories!
Good grief ... this is 14 years old now?! Jeez. :) #LongLiveTransatlantic :)
almost 18 years now :-o
Certainly, we all need some Transatlantic light now. :-/
What an incredible performance. Just saw them live on The Absolute Universe Tour and discovered a newfound love for Pete Trewavas.
Also, I appreciate this video, but why weren't the cameras on Portnoy at the end of Finally Free?!
I saw this tour in Boston (well, really Cambridge, MA) and during on of the songs, Neal's keyboard stand collapsed and sent it down to almost the floor. It was very funny!
Prog or die forever !!
This is awesome. I was a tiny bit disappointed when they just came into forth of the fifth when the words start, I would have loved to hear neal play the awesome tony banks intro.
You realize that Banks himself would always skip it? It's apparently a bit of a challenge for some people.
the reason they wouldn't play the piano intro in shows back in the 70's was because it was hard to mix a piano with synths. a band that did it was jethro tull and from my understanding they had many issues with that. i might be wrong, but this is what i heard
Also, Neal had a lot of troubles recording "The Doorway" (the hands were recorded separately)...he would end up getting it down eventually to play live. Being that they are very similar in design, it would stand to reason that he didn't have the time to build that intro up with all of the other things on his plate at the time. Or maybe it was time restraints, who knows :P
I have seen many Genesis tribute bands (Regenesis, G2 to name 2 from memory) play the complete FoF including the piano intro. I also saw Steve Hackett's band play it. I would estimate it is about grade 7 standard, so should not be beyond any competent pro pianist. However it would be nerve-wracking to play in front of a crowd of fans who know every note and the slightest slip would be very embarassing!
Funny, that Neal seems to be more the leading part back than than Mike does. Even the camera seems to avoid filming Mike.
Mike Portnoy - 25:20. Makes it look easy.
firth of fifth lo mejor
Still great songs in 2019... Although Roine's guitar seems overdubbed IMHO
larga vida a Neal Morse...
59:11 Portnoy: "take this crap away from me!!!" :D
03:10
56:10 La ptm
I like the "Watcher of the skies" intro on 56:00. The "firth of fifth" version is hardly good enough.
Which Alesis keyboard is Neil using?
45:49 "I got blisters on my penis!" Oh Mike ^_^
i have to say.. i never thought i would ever utter these words. BUT in this performance, transatlantic sound absolutely dreaful! vocals are off, portnoy is playing within himself. i know it was only their 4th show but maaan. just being honest! i say this as a super fan who is about to fly solo from australia to nashville to see Morsefest 2022. Transatlantic still remain the GOAT of prog rock. and all their other live albums are absolute masterpieces. but this one STINKS!!! :)
Las versiones del final, vaya manera de estropear las canciones,y me refiero en las voces
Ku o,ynnp
Neal not on his best. Audio bad: Neal too loud, bass too soft.
Agreed! I'd also add that Pete's backup vocals are almost inaudible at times too. And I hear everyone doing little fuck-ups here and there.
3rd Transatlantic gig ever, cut 'em some slack
not very good
Pete says in the video that it's their third time playing live together. That being said, it would kind of suck to pay for this DVD.
