I saw these guys at the Aragon in Chicago, brought my best friend who didn't really know much about the band. Waiting in line to get in, I broke it to him who was in the band, and he lost his shit. Imagine going to a show for the hell of it not expecting much, and finding out it was these guys. Couldn't have planned it as well as it went, band was better live than on the album somehow, and the crowd was insane. My only regret was not booking a place to stay in town afterwards, we had a 3 hour drive home and work the next morning. Worth it. Just seeing how much fun these guys have playing together was contagious. Wish they'd do another album/tour.
If it forever remains a one shot - and, I hope it doesn’t - then it still sits alongside The Dirty Mac in greatness (they are my favorite supergroup, simply for the one single cover of Yer Blues they performed in 1968)
Aside from watching David beat those drums like they insulted his mother and JPJ playing every instrument like a virtuoso, hearing them both singing blew me away.

It's rare you get to see two people that when they get together, everything seems to click and they genuinely make each other better at what they do. Homme and Grohl just seem to do that for each other and we are better for it.
I don't understand why they always present this band as a trio and leave out Alain Johannes. Alain is an incredible musician-he’s hands down the best in the entire band, and even they acknowledge it. Every musician knows that one musician who can take over any show, on any instrument, here we've got 4 of them. I know one of them, you get him on the drums and the room will thunder, but never too much, if you get him on the guitar, he never rips a solo, he just puts a quick bend where it's needed to bring the song up, you put him on the bass and the song will be super tight, you put him on the vocals and a beatles concert has begun. But the you put him on the keys and you just wonder why you ever put him on anything else. 1:19:59 JPJ trying not to laugh and failing - wondering if the high pitch singing makes him laugh
What blows me away the most about this performance is the way that ALL of them are ALWAYS locked in. Dave especially you can tell would love to just go go go go go go go go go, but he stays locked in with JPJ, Josh/Alain never seem rushed in the slightest, and as a result, the whole set is tight as can be.
The world needs a second album !
