I really like this version since the days I discovered Transatlantic. They pull it very good, with the right intensity, and sounding not exactly like the originals but retaining the epic essence. I would have pissed my pants upon hearing the first intro chords of WOTK, and I would have definitely yelled "The Knife!" at the ending ovation hehe
Most of the people in the audience didn't seem to know the lyrics, maybe because old Genesis isn't very well-known in the USA. Most of the people in the audience probably think Rush were a pioneering prog band.
rush IS genesis. classic Rush is just Nursery Cryme with overextended, thoughtless drums, awful vocals, no riffs, a bass going - "left right, up down, bleep bloop, im geddy lee i play random notes wopee", and most importantly - 0 love.
Rubbish. I love Genesis and I love classic Rush and they are in no way, shape or form even remotely similar - unless you're just blindly counting that both bands had epic drummers, great guitarists and helped to change prog that is.
@@mrlarvux I like Rush, I really do, and truth be told it was through listening to Rush that I got into the UK groups like Genesis, Yes, Jethro Tull, King Crimson, and ELP. But Rush were quite a few years later than the UK groups, Rush really only started going prog around '76 or so, and by that time the genre was in decline.
just a bit?!?! some real obvious faux pas' here. I think every music video editor MUST be a MUISCIAN!!! then they wouldn't miss the solo and drum fill syncing !!! I think the band/management should have some input here - hard to believe they didn't watch and this stuff wasn't noticed? oh well, what are ya gonna do ?!?!
Neal has the wrong voice and the wrong Mellotron sample. I've heard better. The Musical Box, Re-Genesis to name but two. Interesting that Roine Stolte joined Hacket's Band in 2017 for the live gigs.
I’m guessing he/she likes the post Gabriel short pop songs. Selling England unanimously voted the best Genesis album ever. But that wasn’t a great guitar solo. Even Darrell struggled to get that mood.
Great artists are those who honour and love great artists came before them...this means respect for who made history of rock!
Genesis was such a kick ass group in those days. One of the best. Great cover!!! ;)
Beautiful !
Pete on a Doublenack ... amazing ...
he is simply brilliant.
love it !

(the version on the Live in America CD is better than this one though. Not so rushed)
Great Version...great musicians.
Excellent !
It would have sounded better had they'd have played FOF in the correct key.
it's all about Neal's pitch :(

Wake up! “Rush” is in no way comparable to “Genesis”.
AMBROSIA were the pioneering Prog band this side of the pond.

Music is not synchronized with video
This was a source of some mirth amongst fans, given that the album they were then touring is titled SMPTE...
WTF is that FOF solo? Was the guitar in tune when you bought it ?
A little bit of a sync problem here....

Interesting that Steve Hackett also had Neal sing on one of his albums.....
sound synchro is weird.
Not bad. The keyboardist/vocalist is not quite up to the task of playing Banks' parts though.
Few are. Banks is from another planet. A poster on a Squackett video actually referred to Banks as "marginal". Lol!
but he s also singing, it's not easy to play with and organ, a keyboard and to sing. Firth of fifth wasnt sung by Banks
Seems they were drunk that Time ..usually they are on top
ugg sound quailty
there s a HQ version found on bridges across forever, mp3 version
That is a terrible shirt.
Not so good, a lot of mistakes
Nah, not even close to a mellotron. Ghastly.
Weak on all accounts...
The reason it doesn’t sound too good is they are playing some Genesis worst songs.
For you "Watcher of the Sky" and "Firth of Fifth" are worst Genesis songs??????You are crazy.....
Ok. Just never talk about music again. Thx
Oh dear you come across as an idiot
