    Andrew, you look totally different. Must be a new hairstyle…🤣…Where did David come from? Have I missed something? Would be good to get an introduction…

      Don't worry, Andrew hasn't gone anywhere! David comes from the editorial side of things and his own channel over at www.youtube.com/@davetriesthis. Say Hello 👋😃

    I've been using Continuity Camera to turn my iPhone SE into a wireless camera and microphone, recording with Quicktime on a Mac on the other side of the room. I was very impressed that webcam effects like blurring the background was so effective and convincing when turned all the way down. Even with a telephoto clip-on lens, the phone is close enough that the mic sounds good enough

    I record using an iPhone and plug my microphone directly into my MacBook and sync audio and video during editing. My issue is getting the lighting to look good

    I feel like this could be so much better looking maybe because of low light ?

    If I used my led monitor for years and more years will the led lose its color or performance?

      @davetriesthis Місяць тому

      Yes. Colors will drift over time. Is it enough you'd notice it? Probably not.

    ProRes doesn't actually give solo creators much advantage, if you use the BlackMagick app and record in HEVC/H.265, it's identical dynamic range, but the ProRes may capture a very tiny bit more detail in some cases, if you're zoomed in at 400% at the expense of a noisier image.
    It is easier for older PCs to process ProRes during editing though, modern hardware, including Apple Silicon you may as well use H.265.

      (I'm the guy in the video. This is my main username) you're absolutely right and I don't use ProRes in the camera app. And I also use Blackmagic cloud to auto upload clips. It felt like the tech details here were above most users. I mentioned that Blackmagic app simply because it's more powerful than the camera app.

    Why was this recorded at 8fps?

      @davetriesthis Місяць тому

      I recorded at the industry standard 7.2fps monochrome CRT standard

    UA-camrs don’t need a super expensive camera, just get a decent camera and record away. Most of the UA-camrs don’t even leave their room 😂
