Hey everyone! Just wanted to say thanks to Brass Against for inviting me to join for this project. I’ve been a dedicated fan of Tool for over 20 years and also recently become a huge fan of Brass Against. Was a real pleasure and honor to work with such impressive professionals and to get the chance to channel my inner Maynard. It’s not often I can let it out a metal scream, but damn, it felt great. This meant so much to me. What an experience. 🙌🤘
Thanks for delivering such a brilliant performance Samuel, highly enjoyable for the dedicated fans of Tool and brass against to see your interpretation, would love to see more of your covers in the future! I wish you a happy and healthy 2019 and hopefully you will have some more Tool material to sink into in that year. Spiral out 🌀
Harry Adair hey thanks for the kind words Harry! Definitely eager to do some more also! Stay tuned!
Fabulous job, absolutely amazing work!
I was so over the moon about Sophia when she did the Pot. I see this one with you in it and sadly did not give it a chance, until. You are every bit as good and it shows how much of a fan you are. My wish list is Jambi, or H. with you on vocals. Great job, Mr. Hope. I am now a fan.
That was an exceptional performance. I hope this is a beginning of many collaborations together!
putting an ad in the middle of this violates the geneva convention
Good one
When that happened I thought to myself “this should be illegal”.
Lol you nailed it.
Yeah it is really painful
It’s treason then
Indeed.
Vocalist is channeling his inner Maynard with the way he is moving
His inner Maynard xD made my day
With the way he's singing too, mad impressive.
haha.. and I just saw Tool in concert for the 1st time so its fresh in my memory (october)
Gotta get into it!
You have to even if you’re just listening! Midnight oil does the same thing to me lol.
I am addicted to this version of Lateralus.
Oh hell yes
Adam Neely Eb11
BRASS
@@mathiaslowes3320 👏👏👏
@Adam Neely - agreed, one of my favourite Tool songs, and now one of my favourite renditions.
P.S. - you want to give your mate Mr Beato a gentle nudge and get him to release his third "What makes this song great" Tool video he's been teasing since the last one? He promised after all.
okay wasn't expecting to see adam neely here but this already perfect video just got a million times more perfect
“We’re gonna cover a tool song!”
Drummer:
*OHHHHHHHHHH FUUUUUUUU...*
This wins the internet
And then he fucks up all the parts of the song without even trying to learn the Danny's masterpiece.
Bass player be like: Oh shit, here we go again...
Do you even play drums, mate? I reckon he did a fairly damn good job playing a 4 piece kit notwithstanding. Nailed the time, groove, fills, dynamics and essential fills.
Hahahahahahaha, right!?!?!
In my intro to psych class, we were asked if we believed in the death penalty. The professor tasked us with writing a position paper on the subject, which caused me to undergo a personal crisis. Did I truly believe that the State's taking of a person's life could ever be justified? I wrote enough of a response to pass the class, but that question has stayed with me ever since. In fact, it stayed with me right up until the 9:38 second mark of this video, at which point the music was disrupted by a youtube ad for car insurance. I now know the answer to the question that has plagued me, and recognize that there are some things that even a lifetime in prison can't atone for. Natural justice must be pursued.
Perfectly said.
HAHAHAHA. You really had me reading along and thinking seriously, and then... hehe
😂😂😂
Haha
🤣🤣😂
I'm not gonna lie, when I first saw this I wasn't super enthused about hearing my favorite Tool song get massacred by a bunch of horns, but I'll be honest, the exact opposite happened. This is absolutely fucking badass.
Same. All time favorite song, and was worried. They did it justice.
Horns, by their very definition are inherently badass.
You mean its absolutely brassass 👀
My sentiments exactly.
Opening statement had me laughing so hard. I love you how you stated it, but also love how this group took this song and did THIS☝
It passed the goosebump test.
I honestly feel that any time the entire ensemble has passion put into their performance, there are immediate shivers and goosebumps... That may just be me, though.
Word.
Yup
Frisson
Dude preparing to sing like a Mortal Komat character idle pose
Underrated comment.
Scree÷eeeeeeeeam
he pretends to be a MJK :) if you know what I mean
lmfaooo
Lmao
I was so blown away by the tool covers with sophia urista that I did not dare checking the lateralus cover because of being afraid that this-other-singer-guy wouldn't meet the standard.
Boy was I wrong. I am really happy to state that Samuel fucking nailed it.
Sophia still rocked it better
@@JinxMarie1985 different, not better.
At least this guy conducts himself like a respectable human and dosent like to piss in another human beings mouth.
@@nscardino34what? Did I miss something?
It's all about the guy crushing it on the tuba. Amazing.
For anyone criticizing the vocalist: singing Tool is harder than you might think for a vocalist, in my opinion he really put in all his time and energy to correctly represent Maynard and he did a terrific job.
Criticizing? He fucking nailed every single part of the song almost perfectly...
The comments seem to be positive. I thought he did amazing.
Ive been singing my whole life This guy nails it. Who ever says otherwise is F-ing jealous his tone is even similar
He was perfect. Not sold on how they handled the barely audible scream at the end but I think that was changed in the mix.
He even has Maynard's swaying moves!
Everyone is commenting on the brass or the singer, absolutely no one is giving the drummer credit for being on point giving Danny his dues. This dude absolutely slays this song. His poly’s are amazing.
drummer is perfect, like vocalist and every other man of this band :) Its one of the best track that i ever heard. Sounds just amazing
Yes. Spot on my friend Danny Carey is the reason i started playing drums along with Mike Portnoy's work with Dream Theatre. So those two drummers along with Blake Richardson and Larnel Lewis i get all the workout i can handle. I am 66 now and it wears me out but worth the pain🤣 i don't know what Danny may think but i am guessing he likes it! My friends who i play with goung back decades always ask me why i started to learn with pieces so difficult. I just smiled and muttered to myself "what a bunch of pussies"🤣😂🤣
I didnt like his performance that much, but I dont blame him, trying do play Danny songs is a hell of a task
he is good, and yet, you can see that he struggles a lot in a section where he starts playing against the band (aprx 6:00). BUT it was Dany who made his part really hard to play/copy.
I can see he's a good drummer, but every time I watch one of these, I notice he isn't playing what I'm hearing. Like hearing a totally different fill, crashing symbols or just more drums to what he's playing
Is there anything more chaotic than a bunch of brass instruments playing the polyrhythms at the climax of Lateralus? This is fantastic.
This vocalist did a phenomenal job
I was searching for this comment. His voice is so clear. Fuckin sexy
The more i listen to him the less I hear Maynard and the more I hear Weird Al for some reason lol.
I love that the only legit way we can pay homage to this song is with 20+ musicians.
Speaks to the power this track carries.
The trombonist is absolutely giving me life right now, I could feel her energy
Drummer is nailing DC polyrythm like he's eating cereal. 😱 blowing ny mind here
Fo real
fake drummer; could be Carey's isolated performance.
@@swaggerdo7231 i was looking for something related to this... at least the edition is weird isnt? it looks really off with the sound... i dont know really if it is fake, i want to believe is not, but in this song and even de Toxicty one, the video is completely off the drummer movements and makes it really weird
@@swaggerdo7231 its not, probably just video editing mistakes, this guy performs with them live too
It doesn't only take a lot of skills to cover Tool's songs, it also does take a lot of confidence to choose to cover one of the most complicated bands in the world. In addition, I'd like to dedicate a compliment to Samual Hope too. I can see that you're a huge Tool's fan by the way you sing, and I love your body language through out the song. It's obvious that you 'feel' what you sing. Great job to both Mr. Hope and Brass Against. Hands down. 🙌
I cant understand how i miss Tool music 20 years ago, but im so happy to meet them today in this outstanding cover. Sounds just amazing
Homie is ROCKING that sousaphone. I never thought I would have said that unironically.
Even if the universe is infinite, I believe this will be the only time that sentence exists.
But now we know it can be done - one more mystery of the universe unravelled.
Word.
4:44 is probably the most anyone has ever sounded like Maynard.
Those hand movements!
listen to adam monroe too hes amazing been lovin him forever sounds ALOT like jkm
heresy xV
But without imitation.
This is great.
Yes, but his voice was still thin compared to Maynard. Maynard's vocal authority is INSANE.
Whenever I've been asked "what's your favorite all time song?" Lateralus by Tool has always been my answer, hands down. I've listened to that song more than I can even imagine, Maynard has been my biggest inspiration in my love of singing, I know that voice so intimately. To hear, and almost as importantly see, Samuel Hope absolutely nail it was breathtaking. Every movement with his body perfectly matches what he's doing with his voice and what he's expressing, it's just one thing, so rare to see.
i dunn no . hooker with a penis is a pretty good song . lots of rage .. this is good to ..
Absolutely. Maynard's phrasing & timing choices are always so unique. Sam Young nailed this cover 100%.
This is probably the best cover I have heard of this song yet. The tuba player blew my mind in the beginning, the tabla player in the middle and then all the other horns and guitars and bass kicking in at the end... No cover has brought me to tears in the same way the original does, but you guys stayed true to the entire cadence and Fibonacci sequence in the timing, and nailed the vocals and the energy levels in the same way that Tool's version does. Tremendous job everyone, you've earned me as a new listener.
not just a best cover, but one of the best track ever. Legendary.
You can tell Samuel FEELS ToOL. You can tell he has felt ToOL for a long time. Those who can feel ToOL can feel the others who feel ToOL also................spiral out........♾
Travis Poettcker smoke more I don't think you're high enough bro
Don’t have to be high to just thoroughly be moved or touched by something bro........but it does help
...keep going!
Haha, got you the 100th thumbs up! I feel Tool but refuse to Feel Tools.
Tool makes music from another plane....no other band can just compare with them for me...
What a hard band to cover in Tool and they killed it.
They nailed it so well that Tool is taking them on tour around the world in 2022.
i got into these guys in 2019..... their rage and tool covers blew me away. love that tool is touring with them on european leg of tour. best thing is that some tool fans are pissed. lol. tool is the ultimate trolls. they dont care what anyone thinks
This made me literally cry my balls out by the end. I showed it to my father who barely knows about tool and has no clue what this song is about cause he doesn't even speak English (Italians) and even he got emotional. I don't know how you guys did it but I needed it.
Fantastic. But of course now we know you guys have access to a Tabla player, a cover of Right In Two has to be next right?
James: have you seen this version, it's very good.
ua-cam.com/video/6E1DkgUNfBc/v-deo.html&start_radio=1
Good call!
Up up you must goooo!!
James Sutherland yes! Right in two please!
momishka7 Omg that Right In Two cover is one of my all time favorite vids on you tube. The subtleties of the background noises (dogs barking etc.) is so fitting. Gives the song a real, authentic feel that no words can do justice.
Drummer knocked the bridge out of the park. those fives on the hihat adding with the bass drum are no joke.
YO. That's all I could think about watching him rip that section. I come back for the Vocalist, and the band, but holy shit every time I hear this I am gently reminded how AMAZING this drummer is with those Hi Hat 5s and the bass, and at @7:25.
Man but Danny Carrey is a month monstrosity
You’re not kidding. That part is THE most difficult section for anyone other than Danny. Maynard gives him the props with his lyrics in this section.
Oh. My. God.
This was incredible. The band. The singer. The interpretation.
How did it take me so long to se it?
Congratulations on touring Europe with Tool for 2022. It will be amazing :)
Takes serious stones to take a stab at Tool. This group does it with fing flare, class, respect, and panache. I really would love to see them perform live.
I'd pay to see that for sure !!!
I see a lot of love for Sophia in the comments, and I've got the biggest crush on her myself, but goddamn. This guy honestly KILLED it. Mad cover, all round.
Yeah he sounded very similar to Maynard
George Bro this Vocalist is a straight up Rock Star! period.
George disagree, we want Sophia back!
Even his visual animation was on point. He's looks like the type of guy who dances to street performers as he walks past because music.
Exactly!! These People make it seem like hes lacking in comparison but not at all, his voice is incredibley close to the original. Good stuff. Both covers are masterclass projects!
Every single second of this is pure gold, the energy, the timing, the camaraderie, THAT VOICE, my god, I've still got chills, I have to say this is one of the best things I have ever watched!!! True and pure talent is what it's all about 🤘🤘🤘
That screaming growl he does at the end is hot AF ❤
Me: Maynard is my favorite singer, there is no way anyone could actually get his vocals right. a few minutes later: I just can't decide if I like this guys or not ... 4:44 omg why did i ever doubt you!!!!
Nate Thomas 🙌🙌
@@SamuelHopeOfficial Crushed it. Much love.
Amen. That moment was fucking great. Every note was flawless. And the way he pulls back from the mic for the diminuendo is perfectly executed.
@@SamuelHopeOfficial amazing job brother
@@SamuelHopeOfficial You need to do a prog rock album now.
That was f****** amazing! I'm impressed with the vocalist.
Akow man especially the part that begins with, " with my feet above the ground.….". Powerful stuff !
me, too
the guy is really good
I loved how he was "charging up" before starting to sing :D
His comment is literally right before yours. Lol
Maynard must take good care of his one of a kind voice. After all these years he still hits it ALL hard and sweet as ever. Incredible piece of music by all artists in that room.
except this iisn't maynard?
when we'll arrive in heaven, we'll be welcomed by rock angels playing that song
Lateralus is close to perfection, and this was an amazing cover. The vocalist did a fantastic job, especially at 7:55 and beyond.
"Spiral out, Keep going" is my favorite part of the song and he nailed it.
I don't know of it's because I'm Australian, but this needs a didgeridoo.
I think this should be the mandatory comment for all music videos on youtube. Please spread the message
My brother from Down Under, I'm afraid Parabol has the only didgeridoo, for you. For now...TOOL for life!
maybe more cowbell?
Agreed
Maybe they should didgeridoo that.
I LITERALLY CRIED
Me too
This was high art. Suphala’s tablah playing (or whatever those drums are) added a subtle-yet-significant dimension to this performance. It’s a class act.
Let’s be honest ok? We were ALL waiting for this!!
totalmente de acuerdo!
Die Eier von Satan.
Been checking back since "the pot" which blew me away.
20 years listening to Tool and this is hands down the best cover I've heard... Really moving work!

The sound from these mics are crystal clear...amazing. The sound engineer for this is on point.
Can't stop coming back to this. What a performance!
I just wish Maynard would listen to this! The whole arrangement is top class, and the vocalist pretty much nailed it. Haven't seen many tool covers where the vocalist have done justice to the song. You guys rock!
He's busy harvesting grapes to make me wine.
@@thedevilworshipsmexiii he still works with his bands between grapes harvest. Eat the elephant came out not long ago. Though I don't know if he's much for listening to covers, may go along with him being kinda of a hermit.

Masterpiece of a Masterpiece!!!!!
one of the best creations of mankind, honestly. I love original, but this cover is just perfect with all of instruments and vocal. I down my kneel before you with much respect.
Tool, tabla, sax, guitar and brass. Am I on heaven?
This is like if TOOL won the bid for next Bond theme...love it!
Make that happen
Saw these guys supporting Tool at the O2 last year. They were great. And Tool weren't too bad either.
In my opinion the greatest cover of brass against, great musicians and great vocalist, it's really professional, well done!
BEST PERFORMANCE YET.
GREAT VOICE.

Big love for trombone girl.
This is my neighbours favourite song whether they like it or not.

It's cool! We love it.... Wink!!!!!
OMIGOSH MINE TOO!
Very entertaining rendition of what may possibly be my very favorite song of all time, including the future.
the scream at the end sealed it. fantastic rendition. horns fuckin rule, they are so goddamn powerful.
I just want to point out as a drummer of 24 years just how difficult it is to perform any Tool song at a proficient level.
With that said this is about as good as I imagine anyone could do. By that I mean this is freakin incredible!
Amazing Vocal performance!
If you think this guy nails it you should watch John Kew absolutely slaying the kit to tool. That guy is insanely good
@@Arrica101 I second this, he's been doing it for a while and has worked up to some of the most insane DC tracks!
Homie was reading a damn chart... that's impressive
@@ericaustin6511 Oh yes. Imagine walking into the studio and someone hands you the drum part for a Tool cover. "oh, shit"
the drummer in the video is fake; just a guy who can use the sticks adroitly; yet no way is he the talent needed to carry out the full drum sound in the recording.
THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST COVER I'VE EVER HEARD IN MY WHOLE MISERABLE LIFE. (Why am I yelling?)
You are living vicariously.
(You feel pain)
You are yelling because there is so much more that beckons you....😊
Okeefe Music Foundation. Give it a listen and get back to me. They kill this.
UncleCharlieJoe because you are so happy? Good for you!
Love all of the Brass Against covers, but I keep coming back to this one, it might very well be the most well executed cover across any genre of music. The pick was perfect and adapts to the big band sound and Samuel does a goosebump-inducing job of bringing the deep soulfulness of Maynard's style from the original track.
That breakdown at around 5:00 kills.
And the "solo" at 7:00 is INTENSE!!!
I would LOVE to see the reaction of the Tool members seeing this piece for the first time! It send shivers down my spine!
Right? For both this and Pot. Because this is quality stuff right there.
Tool complete discography deserves a grammy
Que energia boa, abraços do Brazil.
Holy sh*tsnacks! I'd forgotten how badass this is/was! How do you guys manage to find people who actually manage to put down "Maynard" vocals without coming across as a comical attempt trying to sneak up on "near miss". This is the second singer not trying to do a Maynard impression but making it sound damn good I've come across on here now. So now I'll also have to listen to more Samuel covers. I actually just realized that I hadn't seen these videos from around 5 years ago. I temporarily confused myself with the "String Quartet" instrumental covers which I believe were a bit earlier and there are also some damn impressive piano arrangements. So many incredibly talented people out here on the interwebs! Thank you all for keeping it interesting!
I would buy tickets to see these guys play entire albums of Tool, APC, and Deftones. I like the female singer a lot for Audioslave but this guy nails Maynard's mannerisms and vocal inflections
Agreed.
100%
This couldn't come at a better time for me, seeing how this morning I was lucky enough to purchase my very first Tool concert tickets. So excited!
Welcome and welcome to me. Please help me in my page with the participation .. Thank you very much
FairFuse congrats! It’s life changing.
Enjoy your show! Just don't forget how to swim. You'll need it ;)
FairFuse That's Awesome congrats. Your gonna see the best band in history enjoy it.
Awesome! So glad they are still touring. It'll be a shame for the generations that won't be able to see them.
His parting blast is worth the watch on its own.
I prefer this version. Very good job.
This was mindblowingly incredible. Samuel knocked this out of the park, and Suphala's drumming woven around it was....perfection. I can't stop watching this on repeat. Just wow.
I wish tool had the scream at the end. That was perfect.
LYRICS
Black then white are all I see in my infancy
Red and yellow then came to be, reaching out to me
Lets me see
As below so above and beyond, I imagine
Drawn beyond the lines of reason
Push the envelope, watch it bend
Over thinking, over analyzing separates the body from the mind
Withering my intuition, missing opportunities and I must
Feed my will to feel my moment, drawing way outside the lines
Black then white are all I see in my infancy
Red and yellow then came to be, reaching out to me
Lets me see
There is so much more
And beckons me to look through to these infinite possibilities
As below so above and beyond, I imagine
Drawn outside the lines of reason
Push the envelope, watch it bend
Over thinking, over analyzing separates the body from the mind
Withering my intuition leaving opportunities behind
Feed my will to feel this moment
Urging me to cross the line
Reaching out to embrace the random
Reaching out to embrace whatever may come
I embrace my desire to
I embrace my desire to
Feel the rhythm, to feel connected
Enough to step aside and weep like a widow
To feel inspired
To fathom the power
To witness the beauty
To bathe in the fountain
To swing on the spiral
To swing on the spiral to
Swing on the spiral
Of our divinity
And still be a human
With my feet upon the ground I lose myself
Between the sounds and open wide to suck it in
I feel it move across my skin
I'm reaching up and reaching out
I'm reaching for the random or whatever will bewilder me
Whatever will bewilder me
And following our will and wind we may just go where no one's been
We'll ride the spiral to the end and may just go where no one's been
Spiral out, keep going
Spiral out, keep going
Spiral out, keep going
Spiral out, keep going
Organized chaos...my favorite state of mind😍
Props to everyone for not seeing Lateralus as just another song, respecting its essence and how it's meant to be played. This is absolutely perfect.
As a drummer for 20 years, the first thing I thought when I saw this vid title was " don't do it guys" but wow he really showed up. A drummer who knows his reach and nails it . And amazing job to rest of band. There is just not enough that can be said about the talent in that room.
The frakking tabla, the frakking tabla - mucho grande carumba !!!
At 1:13 it becomes apparent that these musicians are all seasoned and enthusiastic tool fans! Boom the passion!
Love that he closed with the scream. Such a composed song, it needs it. Well done! Love how his voice isn't identical but harkens back to Maynard's.
This vocalist and guitar tone in this is amazing. I've got my ticket to go see Tool at the Mercedes-Benz arena in June, first night of the European tour. Never had the opportunity to go see them before, being from Belfast in Northern Ireland. I am travelling alone as I don't have friends are even remotely interested in this kind of music, but couldn't pass up the opportunity, we could be among the first to be hearing something new and very special that night. Don't forget your pen.
2023 : Can’t get over of this masterpiece rendition
I know we all love Sophia Urista, but I gotta say Sam's incredible in this. I've been a Tool fan for the past quarter of a century, and it'd take me a while to realize it's not Maynard singing. Awesome cover!
He does a great job on the softer intonations.
God Bless Fibonacci for this song
“God” has nothing to do with it😂😂. Give the actual people the credit for doing amazing things. And even if “God” did exist who would you be more impressed with the “God” who has all the answers to everything, or the person that was able to figure it out, make the connections, and get it right. Think of all of knowledge known and unknown as a test. You can’t say the one “being” that has the cheat sheet is more impressive than the guy who figures things out with the immensely powerful tool between his ears. Give thanks to the human mind not some fictional fairytale contradictory asshole who supposedly lives in the clouds.
FumUnda Cheese, someone's triggered. You've gotten awfully offended by someone who you don't believe exists lol. If you had halfway decent reading comprehension, you'd see the OP was giving credit to Fibonacci anyway for his mathematical discovery.
SSPspaz by praising “God” instead of Leonardo Pisano Bigello who was the man who discovered it. Why is it that for ever human accomplishment we need to praise some higher power? Why can’t we praise other people? Thats the problem i have with his comment. People do things not “God”.
@@fumundacheese8256, you've got serious issues with reading comprehension. The OP said "God bless Fibonacci for this song", not "God bless Himself for this song" haha. They were asking God to bless someone for their contribution, not denying said contribution. For someone who believes in God, that's a way of giving credit to someone. So yes, the OP was indeed directly crediting Fibonacci and those who discovered the Fibonacci sequence. You simply got your panties in a twist because of how they chose to express their appreciation. "Oh no, they used the word 'God'! I'm so offended that someone else dares to have a belief system that's different than my own!" If God doesn't exist, why do atheists lose their shit when someone mentions Him?
@Great White, such a classic "I know you are, but what am I" response. Thanks for demonstrating your stunted capacity for intelligent discourse. Nowhere did the OP deny or downplay the contributions of Fibonacci or any other mathematician. To legitimately argue that is quite literally retarded.
Let me spell it out for you plainly. If I was your supervisor and you did a great job at work and I said, "Bless you for your hard work today Great White". Would that be a slight? Of course not. Maybe the term "bless you" is a bit dated for modern use, but in that instance I'm thanking YOU and giving YOU credit for YOUR contribution. Adding the word "God" in front of that statement doesn't change the fact that YOU are the direct object in that sentence being thanked/blessed, and it doesn't diminish the credit being given in any way whatsoever. It's merely a manner of speech and people like you are losing your shit over it. Again, this is just basic English.
There's a distinct difference between the example above and someone saying, "Thank God for creating math!". You're purposefully conflating these two different statements to mean the same thing. If you understood a single thing about language or sentence structure, you'd see the difference. I suspect that you indeed see and know the difference, but you and the user above are twisting the OPs statements to fit your own hateful narrative. If that's the case, I presume I'm wasting my time on this conversation. Have a good life.
I've watched this a 100 times already. Never get bored of this. Love the vocals. Love the energy. Loved Suphala's bit in the beginning. Excellent cover!
Sam's energy is incredible, his presence is amazing
How good was this. Shout out to the drummer. Well played sir
Gave me chills, and that doesn't happen too often. Dynamically nailed, and the vocalist got the essence of this song
Bruh! I can’t even with you right now. Never have I been more excited about a tool cover. Except for that other time you guys did a tool cover.
The fact that there exists another human alive that can come close to sounding like MJK.... is nothing short of astonishing. Albeit while still sounding like himself and not doing a “Maynard impression,” my god man-mad respect bro. MAD respect ✊🏻.
Sam Hope, you're the man! Maynard's phrasing is so non-typical. Seriously difficult to cover. You absolutely nailed it.
I give the drummer 9.7/10 for this performance. 10/10 for the singer.
15/10 for the bari sax!!!
You know it is good when you have a smile on your face, can’t stop your feet from tapping and you have a faint tear in your eyes. Thanks. So. Much.
I never heard of tool before even being a rock fan,,,now I'm playing this song 10 times a day man..
Jay Nerviol Now you are a Tool fan. This is pretty good and all but the original is far superior.
Still my favorite Brass Against cover. This rocks hard as hell 🤘🤘
A tool superfan here. You hace just done MJK and tne band proud with that cover... excellent !!!
Shaun Gibbs Oh good I was wondering when you'd get here
Samuel Hope’s voice felt perfect for this cover. It’s so smooth and controlled, yet his body moved along so fluidly. If his body was getting into it, that makes for an amazing emotion in the voice and I admire that. The vocals in this one are almost monotone, very chanting like, and for some people that’s as hard to maintain as high range vocals, but he nailed it. I can’t wait for another cover!
What are you going on about!? The vocals are monotone but he has amazing emotion in his voice, pretty sure those are mutually exclusive. Next time just write "i'm really deep about music"
robplant899 well that’s what I meant. Despite the original vocals being in a very chanting, mantra style in some parts, there’s still emotion. So both the original and this cover do very well in that regard.
drummers nailed the polyrhythms in this one
Kids voice is killer. Amazing rendition
O'Keefe kids own 46&2 cover
Brass Against own Lateralus cover
Spiral Out. That is all
Mychal Guzman I would also include that Roseate cover of H. here. The sound quality sucks, but there’s a lot of passion behind the cover.
Yann Phayphet owns the Right in Two cover.
Brass against own The pot too. Sophia kills it better than anyone.
Agreed. Weird thing is I prefer the O'Keefe vocals on this track vs. Maynard. She brings something different to it imo
@@Mrblonde62495 Gotta add Dan Dubuque to this list now...
