FKG Love this one! This group spent their entire career becoming the most important music in my life whether they knew it or not! Tool is the most important band of brothers in our lifetime.
Especially with them exposing the elites subliminally. My first concert seeing them was October of 2019 when the band killing joke opened for them. Before leaving the stage just before TooL came on, the lead singer said something along the lines of, "something big is coming. Big change is coming. You see the messages in your airport (Denver/DIA)." I recommend looking it up. Also, "fear inoculum" is basically to fear vaccines, to put it brief. Even their logo for that album forms a syringe when you fold it in half horizontally.
When those lyrics to 'Reflection' spoke to me, after decades of loving the song musically, yocally through harmony, but not of feeling it in the whole of my soul because of a life not yet lived, I cried of joy. Happened months ago, just felt it again.
One can't pick and choose only one song from from Lateralus to experience without a GREAT faux pas. Even The Grudge has continuity. Some of 10,000 Days are the same. Opiate was the album for singles. This progression is a true masterpiece, as is the rest of this album and it will be passed down to my children, as my 4 yr old daughter is already verbally showing her excitement on top of throwing up the Rock and Roll sign everytime Vicarious, The Grudge or Fear Innoculum starts to play. I'm a kickass dad. :)
Remember your 4 year old daughter is older than you she's already began her next life and she will hand it down to you when you are ready. I'm going to kick ass daughter❤❤
Just have to be careful because that sign isn't for rock n roll. It was actually made famous by Anton lavey, who was the founder of the church of satan. It's supposed to represent the devil horns, which is why I stopped doing it. Of course, you make your own decisions, though; just thought I'd make aware of the origins of that sign.
Me and my baby momma broke up; I fought so hard for something that wasn't right for me. The more tool I listen to (Fear Inoculum and The Holy Trinity), the more I reflect on what I'm actually feeling...... I had a feeling of loneliness wash over me. I ran from it; I've always been running from it. But stopping and digging deep into this feeling turns into a feeling of emptiness. It is weirdly comforting. When I take all the chains that bind me in life and all types of association with anything and everything. I'm left with emptiness. Not in a nihilistic way, but more like we are emptiness. We are nothing; it's a scary thought. But when you dive into reflection, everything is emptiness. Most interpret this as depressing, I feel. But it isn't; it is a beautiful feeling. A beautiful outlook on life, emptiness. We are nothing but small atoms in this crazy cycle of humanity. Maybe we would have world peace if everyone realized we are all whole, in the presence of emptiness.
I'm in total agreement that this is music that is historic. I was 16 in 1991 when Nirvana opened Pandora's box with the first real rock since the 70s. Sure enough I discovered Tool from their "buzz clip" epic video of Sober in 93. There are many 90s bands that I love, but no one is as transcendent as these guys, and they will never get old for me. @GDJ113 absolutely. No wasted notes, no overcomplication. I'll take the Comfortably Numb solo on repeat in my head until I die over the entire Yngwie catalog. I love that Tool kinda subverts the metal tropes-- the drummer is the one soloing, the guitarist is providing the ambience and tone of the song, and the bassist usually plays the main riff. All while the singer is in the furthest-back stage position.
@@NoName-cz3wnThat's a unique way to put it. I remember trying to mimic the vicarious main riff when I first learned guitar. I had no clue that Justin Chancellor was basically playing the main riff behind Adam Jones's guitar. That's what gives it that incredible 'whole' sound. Ever since then, I improvise a bit to make it sound similar because I'm not cool enough to have an incredible bassist to assist me, [laughs].
Imagine this live... I hope people in 2001/2002 who saw them live appreciated the entirety of this being played, the stage and banners above adorned with Alex Grey's art. This three song stretch is nothing short of a spiritual experience.
When I make a new friend or girlfriend, I play tool in their presence, and casually evaluate whether ill even spend another ten minutes knowing them by their reaction,
"i have come curiously close to the end, down," he says. I have been dead on the scene for over 8 mins. It took 7 shocks to get me back. My body should only be able to withstand 6 shocks. I was in coma 5 days, hospital 7 weeks total, i only remember the last week of it. 6 yrs before that, i crushed my skull in a crash i was passenger in. It's just above my left eye, fixed with titanium plates across the cracks. To look at me, you can't tell at all. Thank you Jesus!!!
Wow, man! I'm glad the good LORD Jesus Christ blessed you with more time here! I'm just curious, what did you experience in the last week after flat lining or in the coma if you dont mind me asking? If you do, no big deal, my friend. As a believer, I'm genuinely curious about people's experience being in either of those states. Though I'd never wish that on myself, not that curious.
@@Bullet44 physically, I remember nothing. 1st morning in own bed again, woke up and just lay here, eyes closed. Had a vision. I was a bird, flying thru the rain on my road. Saw my car pull out and speed down road. Got near crash site, where I'd threatened to pull the e brake. Huge red hand arose from ground, grabbed car and flung it into tree we hit. Car smoking and steaming, wrapped around tree, with devils dancing like injuns cos I was dead. Super white bright light. Refocused on car, angels all around it giving praises to God. Opened my eyes and understood it perfectly. Get ready, cos Jesus will be taking his ppl very soon. At 14, he promised I won't see past 50, and death isn't why that is. I'm 50 now. He was talking about Hanukkah, because Jews say those are holy days but, God never consecrated those days in Torah. @@windozxpertI'm from '94. People always hype up the 90s so much, but I love the 80s. It seems like the 90s were just the 'comedown' of the 80s before really changing in the 2000s.
Yeah.....i don't care what anybody says - the last 3 tracks on Lateralus is just one big song in 3 parts...... (....and that's the way i will always listen to them)
I think they called it The Holy Trinity but at the time the record company said they need to make it shorter so they just ended up cutting it up and released it as 3 separate songs on the album
God, i love that guitar riff on Reflection. Ive tried to play it myself on electric, but the timing is so odd it sounds comlletely wrong- even though im hitting all the notes. Strangely beautiful and moves my soul in a way similar to Rotten Apple by AIC
^ a shirt does wonders. I have like 8 and every now and then when I wear one I’ll meet a fellow TOOLhead. Tattoos too, Alex Grey’s works make for really nice tats.
Every Tool album is a step up in Spiritual evolution. I didn't quite like the first albums Opiate and Undertow for their personal anti-religious themes, save for some songs like Sober, Disgustipated & secret song 69. But once they released Aenima and Lateralus, and they're latest album Fear Inoculum, Pneuma being the height of enlightenment, I understood their evolutionary process. It resonates with the philosophy of Advaita Vedanta, which is Nondualism. 🌀
Or I created all these albums by saying so between 6th grade in the mid '80s and 1997 plus a stint in 2003 plus writing letters to the band on their website when it was working and it doesn't have anything to do with anything except my own personal anger and views combined with their work effort and musicianship

(came here after this ua-cam.com/video/OSOnYrF_Qgo/v-deo.html)
Pink Floyd made us wonder. Tool makes us THINK
These songs remind me of many times in my life, all bring bliss with them.
Thanks for the reupload! I needed this
No problem! Wish I had the others like that snail video for The Pot haha
Super regalo del alma gracias desde Loja Ecuador
I remember how beautiful the packaging was for this album.
You either get it or you don't & for those who don't it's only too bad for you.
Geniuses.
Justin's baselines make me come... to the realization he's a god
Before I piiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine awaaaaaaaaaaaay!
How I've missed you
Imagine this live... I hope people in 2001/2002 who saw them live appreciated the entirety of this being played, the stage and banners above adorned with Alex Grey's art. This three song stretch is nothing short of a spiritual experience.
I've seen them 28 times the most amazing band I've ever seen I've seen hundreds
I definitely saw them that tour and it was amazing
This trio is a masterpiece!!
I don't have the words now but i love you so much ♡
imagine be in the studio the days that they created this album ! JUST A FUCKING MINDBLOW !
Saving this for 🍄
Good shit dawg
When I make a new friend or girlfriend, I play tool in their presence, and casually evaluate whether ill even spend another ten minutes knowing them by their reaction,
HHAHAHAHA yes! Yessss….
That's understandable
Filter out the people not for you!
Oh so theseeeee are the people Maynard talks about.
I hate that top five high fidelity shit. Yet I do the exact same thing. 😂
hypnotique masterpiece
I'm 50 now. In Amos 10, God says he despises and will ruin the Jews' feasts. He wasn't talking about his holy days, cos he would've called them MY holy days. He was talking about Hanukkah, because Jews say those are holy days but, God never consecrated those days in Torah. He's gonna light up the sky and show them which light they should've been worshipping all along. Sadly, they'll still fall for antiChrist lies for 3.5 years (God shortened those days to 5 5 months, or else no flesh would survive. I thought it'd be last year. I was wrong. This year, I'm not. Look up and REJOICE, cos we're seeing all the Hell Jesus said we would

Reflection
I have come curiously close to the end, though
Beneath my self-indulgent pitiful hole
Defeated, I concede and move closer
I may find comfort here
I may find peace within the emptiness
How pitiful
It's calling me (calling me)
It's calling me (calling me)
It's calling me (calling me)
It's calling me
And in my darkest moment, fetal and weeping
The moon tells me a secret, a confidant
As full and bright as I am
This light is not my own and
A million light reflections pass over me
The source is bright and endless
She resuscitates the hopeless
Without her, we are lifeless satellites drifting
And as I pull my head out, I am without one doubt
Don't want to be down here soothing my narcissism
I must crucify the ego before it's far too late
I pray the light lifts me out
Before I pine away (pine away)
Before I pine away (pine away)
Before I pine away (pine away)
Before I pine away
So crucify the ego, before it's far too late
And leave behind this place so negative and blind and cynical
And you will come to find that we are all one mind
Capable of all that's imagined and all conceivable
So let the light touch you
So let the words spill through
And let them pass right through
Bringing out our hope and reason
Before we pine away (pine away)
Before we pine away (pine away)
Before we pine away (pine away)
Before we pine away

@@law_boii I've heard that BANANA can interrupt time loops :)
Giger meets Grey. Great artwork.
I did a lot of good things with my time for others so that they would learn reciprocity and love
Cool visualizations. Thank you.
The summer this album came out I had this on cd on repeat I even used to go to sleep to it.
I think this is one of the most underrated songs they have this is FUCKING AMAZING
I feel like Beavis.....wow thats amazing 17:00 WOW the band is great before i was born 91
A lot of things were great before '91.
@@windozxpertI'm from '94. People always hype up the 90s so much, but I love the 80s. It seems like the 90s were just the 'comedown' of the 80s before really changing in the 2000s.
That fractal fern got the moves like Maynard
This video production is 💥🏄♂️☺️
Yeah.....i don't care what anybody says - the last 3 tracks on Lateralus is just one big song in 3 parts......
(....and that's the way i will always listen to them)
I think they called it The Holy Trinity but at the time the record company said they need to make it shorter so they just ended up cutting it up and released it as 3 separate songs on the album
If you haven't seen Tool live, I recommend making an effort to.
OMG THE TRANSITION
Absolutely invincible!
Love this.
I love Tool ❤
God, i love that guitar riff on Reflection. Ive tried to play it myself on electric, but the timing is so odd it sounds comlletely wrong- even though im hitting all the notes. Strangely beautiful and moves my soul in a way similar to Rotten Apple by AIC
I love Tool fans but never meet any in person
Get a shirt and we'll say hello
^ a shirt does wonders. I have like 8 and every now and then when I wear one I’ll meet a fellow TOOLhead. Tattoos too, Alex Grey’s works make for really nice tats.
buy it on vinyl and hide it in fireproof safes underground for future generations to enjoy
i need a bigger safe just for this album then! haha
Very nice mix 👍
very beatifull animation
It's about time they put this video back on here! What happened to it?? I used to watch this exact video back in like 2017 or 2018...
@@Bullet44 copyright struck and a lot were taken down, it sucked but thankfully I saved a few.
@@law_boiiAhh, dangit.. Well, the good thing is that you still have it! This is an awesome video that is well put together. I thank you for making it! May the good LORD Jesus Christ bless you and your loved ones.
@@Bullet44 oh nonono I didn’t make any of it, all credits to the first person to post it, whose account I’ve forgotten. But still thank you haha, trying to keep it up for as long as UA-cam will let me
I had stinkfist in one of my playlists for years and didn’t think to ever listen through tools discography but now that I have listened to everything they have released, my life has changed
the weather's changing
As far as artistic expression goes, the video is extremely minimal. But, at the same time i appreciate that
Reminiscing times past, why can't we reminis the future ?
If I tell everyone my story and no one believes me . Did it even happen? I just want the cptsd to stop :( this song helps my aniexty so much... You guys are 😍
I've said it's a hundred times , once I listened to TOOL literally everything sounded like Shit!
where'd you get the artwork in the video? it looks sick.

lol... only if you decide to take a businessman's trip. Otherwise, you're in for a much longer ride than Lateralus has in store for you. ;) Keep Going.....
