Legend has it that the saxophone guy, just today, caught his breath......
If you actually look carefully you can se him taking breaths a lot of times during the video. However It might be hard for you if you don't know what to look for. So look for for a "fish" expression on his face. When he does that it usually means he is taking a breath
Circular breathing that is ✌️
@@hyndeen isn't circular breathing when you breathe in through your nose at the same time as using a reserve of air in your cheeks to play/blow?
Quit ruining this great comment with facts, lol. I believe the legend 😂
Some say....Sax man invented the curtain!!
The bass line on the sax is next level
Yes,,Totally!!,,carries the whole thing really IMO
@@MrGordy41 every tool song lol
@@regularkek LOL!!,,You are right, yes I just listened to the other covers of Tool and he carries those as well.
Find an instrument here that isn't next level.
Rumor has it hes still trying to catch his breath
The scream at the end fucks me up every time. Some part of me will always respect Sophia Urista no matter who she pisses on when.
Fuck yeah!!
I needed there to be at least a 1-2 minute reaction of all the musicians looking at each other saying “we killed that sh!+” 😅
Fucking facts. Soul piercing.
And mixed just perfectly. WOW
I wish she’d… ah never mind.
The balls it took to cover this song. Damn well done!!! Sophia's voice is insanely good!
I’m no critic or musician but I love this song by Tool and this is an AWESOME cover and I agree takes some stones. She can sing!
No I've seen the video of her pissing on that guy, she definitely does not have balls.
@@snap403 For me shes much better than the original singer. I've been to a concert with them both, and Spohia did better for me :) (She was on support only)
Tool did a concert but I didnt hear them welll at all the time, it was in fucked up cracov arena in Poland. So it was most probably not the foult of the band, but the audacity. They didnt do their work. Anyway the concert was... fine?... I guess. But it was not worth the price of the ticket at alll. Ticket was 450zl and the show was worth... maybe 150 at max... Thats it.
@@Mitoxism Stop lying
Beth Hart will kill this song too.
This is the only Tool cover i like.
Everyone: You can't make a Sax seem metal.

You’re welcome.
Rivers of nihil
Hahah I was thinking he looks like a younger Henry Rollins
Listen to 21st Century Schizoid Man
i come back every now and then just to see the angry sax dude. man that dude kills it.
Ron Kozlowski evil sax playing bad guy in gta perhaps but that entire band rocks,he gets rite into this though
He's not really angry at all. I saw them live in February this year, and he is literally the happiest man on stage! Hyping the audience, and dancing non-stop. An absolute joy to watch!
He looks like an angry stillfler in American pie
he's not angry, that's just his face
Playing tool you just can't stay calm it possesses you, crushes over you like a wave and just tears you along and when you're done its like waking up from some weird kind of coma with no memories of what just happened in the past 5 to 10 minutes 😂
This chick literally has the voice for metal/rock. Put her in a genius level band like tool and I guarantee she’d add legacy to rock music. Not that she’s isn’t already amazing enough as is.
the only legacy i really remember her for is for when she pissed on a guys head on stage while preforming live lol
She's good but that's not the voice of a rocker
@@syvalee5618 Wtf bro was it on purpose? What a nasty animal
@@syvalee5618 I mean that’s a pretty rock and roll thing to do lmao
@@dogfather2320 there's no specific voice for a rocker, anybody can sing rock. It's all about the roll
My god, Sophia is gangster as hell. She slaughters every single track I see her on.
I don't see a lot of love going to the drummer but in my book, anyone walking in Danny Carey's steps is a giant.
Completely Agree!
Have you seen the 46 & 2 Cover by Kids? The drummer is maybe 15, and he nailed it!
He's doin' it just fine.
No truer words have ever been spoken
Well said 👏
It was an understated version of the great man but it was enough to fit the bill. Very capable drummer I've no doubt..
The entire band is incredible. Covering Tool is already a challenge on its own, doing so using entirely different instruments and an entirely different ensemble is in simply amazing.
I agree, with one exception. The drummer didn’t even try, at any point. At all. He played the most basic beat possible through the entire song. Zero effort. Why go through all this work just to have a very mediocre drummer for a tool song? Ruined it for me.
IKR! I can’t imagine the work that went into writing their sheet music alone. And the sax player and drummer? Very impressed.
Well it's not that special all the timing is identical.
@@SMAC-wv5rw .... They replaced most of the percussion with brass... That's the point.
Not to mention absolutely nailing it
This is still some of the best vocals I’ve heard. The musicians are fantastic of course. I love this cover so much.
Hands down the best Tool cover
You seen the Lateralus cello cover?
O’Keefe music foundation kids, 46 & 2 gets my vote.
On par with Beard of Harmony's 'Right in two' cover I'd say.. those other 2 mentioned, impressive, but I don't play those in my car. 😊
noop
Elephant Revival? ,something like that, covers Schism and it's the best I've Heard.
I've come back here once a month since this dropped. This vocal performance is absolute gold!
Same here. Edit: for the entire performance tho
You just like the girl, performance is average
Eartha Kitt is alive singing metal!
Right on!
@@graduatedrapist disagree
I feel like I owe money to the sax player
My thoughts exactly, he was awesome
with the swagger he has my guess is he composes the music for everyone.
You do, lol.
He was the arranger of this, and other pieces they've done.
Listen to him! We all owe him money!
And here I am over here saying sax belongs in rock music. Then I heard Rivers of Nihil. Now this. I am nothing but stronger into this feeling.
3:04when you pissed all over my black kettle, you must've been......
She gave this a whole new meaning.
😂🤣😂🤣
Well I'll be dipped in bat shit... this is one of the best Tool covers I've ever seen or heard, which is saying something because nobody can cover Tool, especially Maynard's voice. Clearly this beautiful lady Sophia can and she needs to be heading her own rock band (or whatever the heck she chooses).
This “is” her rock band dude…. They can cover anyone and that’s a fact
Honestly who tf even has the balls to cover this. So good.
I have
The balls to specifically cover it with a brass band and a baritone sax are huge.
And its now my new favorite thing lol
And they did it so damn well too, this is incredible
ikr
Big, huge, bulging, and BRASS!!!
That's the meanest looking saxophone player ever
Was thinking the same thing.
In a good way
Rollins Sax
Have you ever seen Jørgen Munkeby of Shining? He is rather menacing as well.
Bass face.
The fact that she was able to analyze Maynard idiolect and mimic him is amazing, she killed that hardcore, mimicry is one of those things that shows a singers got a whole lot of talent.
Od wielu lat słucham coveru w waszej wersji i do dzisiaj jestem pod wrażeniem
Them horns tho! Whoever arranged trumpets & trombone is a friggin genius.
WELL SAID!
If the horns don't make your skin crawl,... you are officially DEAD....
@@PhilStefura1778 Ya .. her voice nice .. the horns? Ruins it for me. Best Tool cover is the OKeefe kids doing 46&2
They really made the performance
That would be Sax dude and guitar dude. Andrew and Brad do the arrangements. And they kick ass!
Am I the only one disappointed that a cover of The Pot was not called The Lid? I'll see myself out...
I'm having a hard time deciding if I love you or hate you for this.
Exactly.
Please help me stop giggling now
Haha brilliant

Huge Tool fan. This is just what I needed tonight. I love seeing different takes on great songs. Phenomenal cover of The Pot!
It was amazing, I was expecting a little more umf on the breakdown though
Remakes usually suck but when the whole band is singing and swaying you know you've hit the mark. Absolutely incredible

note that Brass Against is opening for Tool on the Euro leg of their tour right now....
OMG... I've just found this. This sing is my #1 in its original form... This version is now in my top 5. Amazing cover and such brilliant talent in the different take. Love love love this
The bass and the vocals are so amazing! the whole brass layering of sound is so groovy and accurate I want more.
It's interesting because the sax gives it a more hysterical sound which compliments the stress the singer is putting in her vocals, it gives the song a crazier sound to it which sounds absolutely amazing. Good work indeed!
That's exactly what I heard, but you nailed it. Hysterical, like the lyrics.
it's a great arrangement...possibly better than the original
Totally felt the same way. Tool has a lot of screeching, muttering background noise. Guess it turns out Brass does that REALLY WELL!
it makes it more spontaneous... beautiful.

What a voice!
indeed!
Bad Ass! easy on the eyes too.
But original Tool is much better sound'ing 😎
She's good,but can't be compared to Keenan
to me, just shows how good Maynard is for someone untrained. His performance is much better than hers.
Let’s just talk about how good of a tone the guitar player is getting. Absolutely passes for Tool worthiness.
Crazy because the guitarist to me is background (much like the guitar is in a lot of the original song) you hear parts of it but it seems to be doing a lot of rhythm in this cover. It’s like it’s picking up slack for the sounds that the brass simply can’t make.
one of the finest pieces of art on the internet! couldn´t even imagine a more honest cover than this! LOVE IT

The real hero is that sax players eyebrow
😂😂😂👏
hahaha it looks like china's great wall has broke down..
He did an amazing job! Makes his eyebrows totaly sexy
Funnily enough, the sax player composes all the brass music for their covers
That's like a full 13in of eyebrow across his head. Ya gotta respect that

Flawless and perfect in every way 🔥🔥🔥
The singer and sax player are next level.
Wow! This is just incredible, and the sax player really got the memo! Superb vocals!
Man what a killer sound!! Ah instant fan!
Tool is not a band easily covered. So kudos to you guys for doing such a solid rendition of it.
Agreed, I have some serious respect for the brass section, particularly the sax player nailing the riffs.
I love how every good Tool cover takes a group of 8-10 musicians to nail it, where (sans vocals) 3 guys using a guitar, bass and drums can create such mayhem... Taking nothing away from this performance, but I think it shows why Tool is so next-level that they won't be equalled artistically, spiritually, or musically for generations to come...
@@markbennett8945 jerk off to tool much? They are all right.complexity of playing a particular piece of music doesn't automatically makes the music beautiful. There's no causation.
Holy crap. You capture the exact feel of the song without doing a carbon copy of it. This is what cover songs should be in my opinion. And all of the players and the singer are onvious masters of their craft. This was a joy to listen to.
Its also a joy to watch too imho, because you can just *feel* the energy and passion they have for it.
...absolutely ruddy fantastic! ...that vocalist is extraordinary ...great cover!
It's musical magic!
Tool with trumpets and saxophone, it's very unexpected.
Beautiful work. Bravo! 👏👏👏
Can't believe the multiple layers of this song here. It's fucking incredible someone composed this
This isn't even close to Tool's most complex song yo. Vicarious, Jambi, schism, lateralus, the grudge, Rosetta stoned, 46 and 2.
@@nickdixon3979 I know every tool song, just saying the way they compose 3 instruments (guitar bass and drums) with all the brass layers is impressive.
it works because the layers are on the original and these layers are different , but work just as well , class is class :-)
This is not music in the realm of normal musicians.... there is a level of superpowers going on in this room unrivaled. Props to the sound person that could capture this without exploding with this blast of power so it could be appreciated by us mere mortals..

Not only nailed it .... but that scream at the end .... made me double take.
How the shit I wound up on a big band cover of one of my favorite Tool songs I have no idea but holy shitballs this is amazing. The singer just absolutely nails the song too, particularly the opening line which sets the stage for the song as a whole. The smokiness to her voice fits the song (and Tool in general) like a glove and the production on this is just... *chef kiss*. Just incredible, you all nailed this, and I hope Maynard sees, I would imagine he'd appreciate it. Absolutely brilliant. What a time to be alive.

Great job, you guys killed it! Kudos for tackling one of Tool's more intricately odd timing signature songs. Bravo.
Isn't alot of the song in 4/4, with wierd syncopations to make it sound like odd time signature?
