@s If you truly feel this was so awful then just say that, don't insult the people that disagree. You pointing your argument towards the people you disagree with and not the opinion they have only distracts from your point and makes you seem like a dick. (Note that I did not and am not calling you a dick, but you definitely seem like one based on your comment)
What's your f'in problem dude...Brass is fantastic! You know NADA about horns if you don't see the musical mastery of what they do. They've done several Tool covers & they kick ass! Check out their cover of The Pot & if you still feel the same way, then YOU are the one who knows nothing about music you poor soul : (
@s What do you mean by "not even in time together"? Or "all over the place in tune"? You not liking the cover is not on the performance of the players, the band played basically perfectly. I can't tell a single time where a band member is not in time, and if there was, this wouldn't be the recording they used for the upload. I think your issue with the cover lies with the arrangement
Why the patient? That one should just stay rock as it was meant to be...idk I feel like that was a personal song only meant for MJK to sing. But reflection would be a very interesting song to make brass...I agree.
Parabol/Parabola are probably my favorite Tool songs, especially Parabol. And you all *nailed* the eerie, ethereal quality that it normally has. gave me chills.
This one is on another level. Flat out something special. The build to Parabola at 3:04 is so patient, so smooth and then BAMMMM.... freaking full on! Kudos.

Also, thank whoever produced/mixed/mastered this for keeping the dynamic range of the recording fairly extended on my behalf ! Gotta love the transition between Parabol and Parabola
I know there’s an electric guitar and a drum kit present, but this group never ceases to amaze me with how well they recreate hard rock and alt rock songs primarily with brass instruments. It always sounds SO clean and so good.
I can’t stop! I’m going vid to vid having just discovered this and I’m absolutely blown away with the talent and musicality here. And Samuel Hope? Holy God I have to go learn more about him now too. So so so damn good!
I adore musicians. Folks who play instruments. Y'all are SPECTACULAR!!! Bringing out the beauty in Tool's music and celebrating your own vibrant talent. Amazing! 🤗🤗
Don't get me wrong i absolutely love this project. I had to watch the video just to prove to myself that the singer wasn't Maynard under a different name. This band, and thes collaborative efforts bring me to tears with every release. I've been a Tool fan since day one. These covers played by this group of artists is honestly as good and just better in so many ways. I love what you folks do, please continue doing it. These projects have been bangers!
Hearing this made my month. You had me at the pot. Lateralus has been playing almost constantly since I heard it last month and this gave me chills. Awesome.
Holy shit this was awesome! So much detail, so much feeling. Amazing arrangement! Amazing vocals! Guys.. you rock. I'm gonna see you at Download Festival in Madrid and if you do a Tool cover before actual Tool enters the stage it would be sooooo niiiice.. It will only raise the hype!! Thanks for this!!!!!
You did it your way, guys! When you switched to Parabola, I dropped my coffee mug on the floor. I think the original (studio version) is compulsive yet restrained, and you showed its total energy. Including the loud and ecstatic Samuel's part who is singing his own song instead of copying Maynard. Don't chop me for not being thrilled by Parabol.
@s I mean you have a point. They're only getting views because they're doing something no one else has done. I'm very unimpressed with the drummer's energy. It's boring.
Once again, Samuel Hope knocks it out of the park. If Brass Against is playing in your town, it's mandatory to see them live, especially if Sam is with them!
I am a devout Tool and APC follower and you guys found a perfect way to mix the brass, percussion and vocals. Jesus, come to Mississippi. I want to see y'all!!!!!!!!
I love watching these videos. Tool has always been a unique force in music since "the first EP" (wink, wink) so to have a group take that, re-imagine it, and then execute it so powerfully ... I'm amazed. This allows me to experience these songs in new ways, getting as close to that sensation of hearing them anew. Thank you for this!
I’m impressed as a band covering a Toolfan epic song but the guy REALLY DOSENT SOUND LIKE MJK, THERES ONLY ONE MAYNARD AND AS IT GOES THIER GREAT AT A COVER FOR SOME SONGS BUT PLEASE A WHOLE DISCOGRAPHY REALLY PEOPLE .?.?.??
So grateful to be invited back by Brass Against! What a pleasure!!
YOU ARE A LEGEND .. you sing for all tool fans with patience and love and knowing what tool actually is!!
Truly a wonderful performance. Thank you for lending your time and talent to this work.
Great collaboration. You put your own spin on it but remain true to the feel of the original. Love your part on the end of Parabol.
Nailed it, awesome cover
Can't say enough about this performance, certainly giant shoes to fill and you made the song your own. Well done!
5:29 When the singer feels all the power of Maynard's voice and makes his body shake, only as Tool knows how to do it. Great cover, great band.
So good. Could yall please cover....tool's entire discography?
This!

Holy fuck I would fly anywhere in the U.S. to see the show if they actually did that. - And I would buy the cd if they made one....
Great f_cking idea!!
5 years later, I'm back again to listen to this masterpiece. Beautiful.
I never left.
Mr. Hope is clearly a fan of Tool.
This track requires a lot of vocal control.
You can trust me, I’m a drummer.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 funny shit
Definitely true. I couldn't do it and I am a carpenter.
Absolutely true. I'm a mathematician
Mike tuggernuts as an engineer I confirm this statement to be true
Can confirm, also a drummer.
one does not simply "sing" maynard james keenan.

Another legendary piece of Tool mastery infused with Brass Against's own mastery

s - Actually, I bet Maynard would tell you to take that finger and point it up your fucking ass.
Do more Tool and get Samuel Hope to sing it all.... so impressed at how well he reproduced Maynard's vocals.
Trombone girl has awesome moves :D
Knew the trombones were gonna kill it when I saw this cover pop up. Brilliant all around
Trombone captured my heart the first time I saw the video for The Pot
Pretty sure she would head bang if she could
Not at all rusty!
Right!
TOOL are not just a band...
They are SOUL EXPLORERS
Samuel is a true performer.
His whole body becomes the instrument...
That little 'boom' motion the guy playing trombone did after hitting that intro sequence at 3:13 got me so amped
Dude same hahaha
First Lateralus and now this? Please tell me you're making a whole Lateralus cover album!
Revanchist Vakarian I would *freaking love that*
This is needed. I want to hear reflection and the patient.

I’m conflicted. I’ve been working on a brass band arrangement of this song(s), and you beat me to it. And yours is killer. Congratulations.

Never heard a good vocal Tool cover. Until now
There's this 1 right in two cover that's just so chill it's hard not to appreciate I'm sure you've seen it tho!
Life changing. One of Tool's best-written songs. Bari sax man is my hero.
Best vocals I have seen thus far, MJK sets the bar extremely high and you really did a fantastic job with a difficult masterpiece.
This is some serious stuff. I'll be enjoying this daily just like the previous covers of The Pot and Lateralus, no doubt. Moar Tool!

Tool does this with 3 instruments... and a singer. How they create such a huge sound with 4 guys has been a riddle for me for 25 years now.
the ads really take away from the vibe of this. I'd rather watch all the ads in the beginning to hear this uninterrupted. Amazing performance!
