Chris, all your videos are top of the line. It is neat how you demonstrate flaws and proper motions plus drills all in ~6 minute videos. Thanks so much for your superb content!
Thank you Chris your lucid explanations of the trail arm have shown me once and for all how todeliver the club to the ball with a descending blow that will take a divot in front of the golf ball!!
Superb! This one instruction video has changed so many things for the good for me. All these years of lessons and frustrations until this one change. Can't thank you enough Chris. Btw the other instructions are great too.
Whenever I have a lesson and work on something new I watch one of your videos on the same subject to help me better understand the action. These videos can work hand in hand with my golf lessons
Ditto!!!! Or in other words, I couldn´t agree more with Nahshon. This is the sort of stuff teachers keep in their back pocket. Chis puts it out there for us to reach the next level in our performance. Well done once again Chris!!!!! Your explanation is crystal clear and sooooo to the point for most of us. Thank you from Madrid.
Another great video Chris! I love your teaching style and your explanation of the golf swing! I really want to learn how to play golf better and know I need golf lessons. Problem is, after watching your videos and loving the way you teach the swing, I know if I try and find some coach i'll hate their teaching style. I sure wish you were in the states.......Phoenix Arizona to be exact! Thanks for the great content. I find that your content is top notch and at least gives me ideas to work towards but I just can't seem to make the change and make it stick without a good coach 😳
Thanks for the comments and trust me if love to spend some time over in the states and seems like you have some great facilities where you are. Glad your enjoying the content.
I have used all methods to control the club path with my arms and hands for years. Crystal clear instruction. Correct position at the top and let the proper body pivot deliver the club. Great lesson Chris thanks very much
I have been having a problem with club path on the downswing. This video and the other downswing video have helped me to figure out how to effectively synchronize the body to deliver my club more effectively into the impact zone. Thanks!
When I tried this at the range it changed EVERYTHING! Now it's well ingrained part of my swing routine that the trail elbow/arm stays externally rotated at the very beginning of the down swing, it's hold its position essentially; maybe even turns open very slightly more with the trail elbow leading towards the ball. The improvement in my ball striking was nothing short of phenomenal! 9 greens in regulation on my recent round which for me is an amazing improvement! THANKS CHRIS!
A very great video of what the trail arm does. As you know many golfers feel this movement in different ways, only today, on the range after playing 18 holes I wanted to feel what I did to make solid contact . I felt that keeping my trail elbow close to my body on the down swing and feeling the handle of the golf club traveled inside the ball and ahead before contact, this feeling helped every time. Also Chris, keeping a straight wrist at impact work good too.( Your Video of keeping the logo on the golf glove pointing away from the target really helped) ... Thanks
Great video and instruction. I am a 3 handicap and sometimes my swing gets off track and and I start hooking the ball and just getting getting solid contact. This straightened it right out and the ball is jumping off the face of the club again and on line. Thanks for the videos.
The right arm drill was great for me because when I tried to get speed in my downswing I pulled everything left because a was closing the club face. When I thought about the back of my right facing my right thigh on downswing I was able to delay release and get the clubhead going out to the right. Very helpful
Thank you very much Chris. Very useful, as many videos from you. Hardly wait better weather to practice more and see the results after some drills from you.
One of your very best video lessons Chris. You used an iron for demonstration. Question: Do all these same principles apply to driver, fairway woods, hybrids and wedges?
Great video Chris, would you agree that attempting to keep close proximity between trail and lead forearms/elbows would help to accomplish this? Thanks
First time watching video and appreciate the explanation of what should be “felt” in the trail arm as you [pivot] and make your downswing. Please advise on how to make pivot and what should be felt (this is my problem)? I presume the pivot acts as the initiator and momentum carries you on through to the follow through? I am a lefty by the way. Thanks.
hi Chris great video. how do you combine retaining external rotation with the need to get the arms and club down vertically from the top so it won't be stuck too high? is there a simultaneous drop via a straightening of the right arm? or in the video it looks like you bring the right elbow in towards the body on the downswing
Chris , thanks for the video very helpful. There's one problem that I'm wondering you might be able to help me with, or maybe point me to another one of your videos. My leading arm on its own can whip through the swing a lot faster ,. Even when my trailing arm (right) is following the correct path, I still feel that its suppressing my swing speed . I have even tried letting go with the trailing hand a tad early ,, thanks in advance
Great lesson as always Chris, i am struggling with getting my hands forward at impact and compressing the ball, my right arm seems to be straightening and then flipping, this drill looks to have some real benefit for me. Can this drill help with forward shaft lean?
Great video, just like all your others. My only suggestion would be to use the terms lead arm and trail arm as opposed to left and right. Can you tell I'm a lefty? haha
Ha, yes William that's my fault I apologies. You will notice in the title I used 'trail' but mid flow I revert back to my rights and lefts, it's a bad habit.
Great free instruction Chris many thanks. Couple of prospective clients shuffling into the background there as well. Ever had to abort a vid and run for cover due to getting peppered lol....
Chris, can you do something on the left arm? When I swing with one arm, the right, all is fine ,& I hit the ball well. I think my bad arthritis in my left shoulder is the issue. Thank you
great tip, my local pro has been teaching me this. in fact when my lesson is done the next day i feel muscle ache on my right side lower back. when i do it correctly it sure makes a differnce.
Chris, great video! Sometime would you discuss the mental aspect. Specifically having a great practice swing and a different swing when attempting your shot. Thanks again, Todd clark
he's a good teacher. getting that right forearm at the same angle your shaft was at address will help as well. to vertical and the fade will be the result, usually. and to flat will result in a small hook. which is what ails me.
I really like your lessons Chris, you're one off the very few that I watch for tips and technics. But I have a questions about one of your comments in this one: @3:04 you mention that it's normal that the club head is behind the hands at that position/stage in the downswing. I've been suffering in the past with a hook in my swing and it has been identified as the cause. They (other online coach) sais that this situation, club head behind the hand when the shaff is parallel to the ground, is most liklely to promote and in-to-out path, which result in a hook... I would appreciate if you could clarify this... Don't forget, I really like your work and I only want to understand the swing mecanics. By all means I do not want to be a "I know better then you" guys
Hi Serge, yes this is correct that if the club is behind the hands the club path will more likely be to the right, perfect for a draw shot. Can hugely depend on how the golfer rotates through the bit though so not a given. May well just be that yours is too much inside if you are hitting a hook 👍👍
I love the guys coming into his fairway looking for their balls lol. Seriously tho, do you have any videos for us lead hand dominant golfers? This drill is uncomfortable as I'm not left handed but I golf left handed.
Hi Dennis, for me the golf swing is equal between left and right and the data that we have tends to back this up. Certain golfers with ‘feel’ certain things and this can help but both should be working pretty hard 👍
Chris, all your videos are top of the line. It is neat how you demonstrate flaws and proper motions plus drills all in ~6 minute videos. Thanks so much for your superb content!

Finally Chris is teaching us the Pro inside move to impact. Very Helpful Chris, Thanks
Chris....you are without a doubt the best golf coach I have ever encountered. Your clear and concise examples of varying drills are amazing!!
+Mike Glisson thanks Mike
Whenever I have a lesson and work on something new I watch one of your videos on the same subject to help me better understand the action. These videos can work hand in hand with my golf lessons
Thanks very much for that Chris. Struggled badly with shots that we're going all over the place but just doing that drill I feel much more confident.
Ditto!!!! Or in other words, I couldn´t agree more with Nahshon.

Fantastic explanation Chris - you explain so well how to feel what should be done!

I call it straightening the right arm without rotating it closed.Basically the same as maintaining external rotation.Excellent video Chris!
Thank you Chris for all your good work! This looks like a very useful pre shot routine. What is "the pivot" ?
Thank you very much Chris. Very useful, as many videos from you. Hardly wait better weather to practice more and see the results after some drills from you.
One of your very best video lessons Chris. You used an iron for demonstration. Question: Do all these same principles apply to driver, fairway woods, hybrids and wedges?
Best tip ever, killing it down the middle of the fairway! Thank you
excellent vid, cleared up a lot of questions Chris, many thanks, K
Great video Chris, would you agree that attempting to keep close proximity between trail and lead forearms/elbows would help to accomplish this? Thanks
wow! This lesson is so good!! thanks Chris for this and all your wonderful videos!!!
What great advice Chris, I will be practising this, all the best

Hi Chris do you have any content planned on hitting the ball from an upslope and a downslope? Derick New Zealand.

I have been working on this exact issue and this video really helps! Thank you Chris.
Thanks Stephen

A very usefull and clear video, thank you for posting!
Luar biasa, penjelasannya mudah dipahami. Thanks Chris
Great free instruction Chris many thanks. Couple of prospective clients shuffling into the background there as well. Ever had to abort a vid and run for cover due to getting peppered lol....
Another good video. Great content. Can you suggest an exercise in the gym to work on the proper muscles in the trail arm/back?
Thanks Neil great idea and would love to do more vids like that.
Thanks James hope the practice pays off, can certainly feel it when you use muscles previously not used!
Chris, great video!
Sometime would you discuss the mental aspect.
Specifically having a great practice swing and a different swing when attempting your shot.
Thanks again,
Todd clark
Would you recommend the same delivery for hybrids and woods?
Thanks for the great video. You certainly make it look easy.
+Paul Won thanks Paul

snap hook
thank you Chris. Exactly what I was doing.
Great video as always.

HI Chris, Thank you for the answer. Really appreciated !
If you not maintaining the lag what could be the issue?
Top stuff. I might have *finally* understood this. 🙌
Great video

Seriously tho, do you have any videos for us lead hand dominant golfers? This drill is uncomfortable as I'm not left handed but I golf left handed.
How do I stop coming over the ball I tend to thing the ball but when I hit it goes straight regards Joe Smyth
Just what I wanted to know.
....at 5.17 in is the best postition to aim for.....period!
Hard arm big man
I think those two blokes who photobombed the video at the end may need some instruction, Chris.
isn't that encouraging people to hit from the right instead of pulling with the left arm????
Hi Dennis, for me the golf swing is equal between left and right and the data that we have tends to back this up. Certain golfers with ‘feel’ certain things and this can help but both should be working pretty hard 👍
anyone ever said you look like that guy from tattoo fixers?
Haha, yep all the time! The wife thinks we are the same person, minus the tattoos of course!
HAHA!
ggg
Geez Chris, too robotic and far too much jargon. Less words more feel.
