Did you get the BOV from a legit source? You may have a fake, HKS bovs have a high pitched whistle sound when they blow off. It’s their signature sound, the flutter sounds cool tho just not what I’ve heard from other HKS cars including 10th gens
What’s the difference between the links you posted for the bov besides the price? They look the same and looks like both require the adapter but the one listed for the civic is wayyy pricier than the universal
So I just installed same exact setup, and I’m running ktuner on phearable. On base map 2. With rev hang disabled there’s no flutter, with rev hang enabled there’s only a SLIGHT flutter. Unless this guys camera is picking up the slightest sounds or something mine doesn’t flutter the way his does :/. Also running prl cai, prl intercooler with charge pipes. I THINK the way he is getting the flutter is because of his vacuum line being so tight, it almost looks blocked off or pinched , and from what I read that can cause the surge to cause flutter.

I went and purchased vac line from autozone so there was no strain on the hose or pinching. My car is tuned and when I have rev hang on mine flutters. When I have rev hang off it whistles
Watching this video because in Puerto Rico every car that is interesting is marked up extremely high, veloster n? 40-50k ish with markup, type r? 40-60kish mark up... I haven't seen what these go for but I'm guessing it's a crap ton of money just not as much as the veloster or type r Update: found a type r going for 61k with 16k miles
@@deployedairbags it's already been proven that venting metered air to atmosphere makes the car run rich. it's not a hard concept to grasp. air at the MAF gets measured.. engine adds fuel based on amount of air.. air escapes.. car runs rich. running rich over a period of time will cause issues. injectors on the 10th gen are already hit-n-miss so why add to the issue?

I have an HKS BOV also and it flutters because of throttle body oscillation. When rev hang is disabled it sounds like a standard HKS valve. When rev hang is enabled it flutters just like in this video.

@@jjazmin yeah, I am on Ktuner with the Pherable 1.5 tune. I can enable and disable revhang on the fly using the cruse control button which is awesome. If I get lazy when shifting or am on the highway cruising I enable it. If I'm going to beat on it then I disable it.

When I let off the gas I hear it like knocking so I took it off after a month it was fun to have on but lost a little bit of power and notice some lag idk if anyone has some tips but idk?? Thanks
@@Shiftur_ And I also debunked this theory via experience and civic forums. This all depends on how air flow is metered by the ECU. These cars use MAF (mass air flow) sensors, so as air comes in through the intake, it is calculated for by the ECU and the correct amount of fuel is injected. Civic 10th gens use a recirculating bypass valve (BPV) which drops excess air back into the turbo inlet when boost isn't required. All the air measured by the MAF stays in the system and is eventually combusted. Other cars use MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensors, which use air pressure in the intake manifold to calculate air input, and inject appropriate amounts of fuel. Those can use blow off valves (BOV) and vent excess air to atmosphere, because air-fuel is calculated later in the chain, and can be adjusted for by the ECU based on manifold pressure. When you put a BOV on the 10th gens, the ECU thinks that all the air measured by the MAF is in the system, when you're actually venting to atmosphere. So you'll run rich because the ECU is injecting more fuel than can be properly combusted. *"Well can't you just get a tune to bypass this?*" No. Because the air is measured before the valve the vehicle has no way to measure how much air is released to fuel accordingly. This is something that's decided by how the entire system is designed by the OEM, not something that can be "tuned around". Source from Civic Forum.
@@yosammy1746 I understand where you’re coming from but that would 100% affect a OLD MAF only based car, 10th Gen pulls data for both MAF and MAP, adjusting accordingly. In Bisimoto’s video he shows how there is minimal less than 1% difference in the afr’s with the aftermarket BOV. It actually sealed boost better than the stock one and made more power, I’d really advise you to watch that video. He hooks it up to a dyno and has multiple sensors watching wastegate pressure and a/f ratios
@@Shiftur_ I've seen the video already. The issue I have with his data is that he only focused on one BOV. He does not have multiple data to support his claim with different BOVs such as boomba BOV which is well-known to mess with the a/f ratio. Testing one single BOV does not mean the rest of BOV will work the same.

Was looking at the forums and pretty much the only pro is the sound you get from installing it, doesn’t really give it any hp gains. Does make your a/f richer but ima get a tune soon so it shouldn’t be a problem
Even with a tune, it’s what happens after you release the throttle. The stock ecu won’t be able to correctly adjust fuel since the air has been vented out after going through the MAF sensor.

Your car, your choice but I highly dont recommend installing any sort of BOV for the civics. This messes with the a/f ratio.
