Another really easy way to get the noises for these cars is to get a nice cold air Intake.
and it doesn't fuck up your fuel trims in the process. as long as it's a cobra.
Injen CAI sounds so fuckin' good on pretty much all stock 10th gen Si
DC Sports is great as well
@@kohsty 27Won is good too
@@dominicg2456 nah, that shit gives no gains and bad afr.
Bisimoto busted the MAF myths on theses cars, he as all the data to back up the AF ratios, the Turbosmart ones do not hurt anything and even added a bit of HP because it had a better seal. Ive bought and installed a turbosmart and have zero issues after 6 months. No rich AFs either

Same, been running my Turbosmart for 3 years, no issues at all and Fuel trims are perfect
If BISI tells you it, take it to the bank. He’s the Best of the Best! He said not too use the Boomba, without saying Boomba tho.
And D Rob proved Bisi wrong lol.
@@dingleberries360 BISI did the tune on the Dyno showed all the Data logs. Nobody cares what your bfs tests proved.
You should have included boost level differences and how that affects response and performance you even have a dyno so you could get really detailed charts
The adapter plate is literally the only one you can hear over the apparent flat tire the car has.
Lmao right?
Yeah like wtf 😂😂😂

I really appreciate this video. This is my first turbocharged car, so I’m looking forward this. 🙌🏾

No problem!

Did you tune your car? How is it Holding?
@@israel6642I’ve had one on my 17 ex-t for 4 months now no issues no tuning been a great product super loud too
This is interesting considering everyone on the forums say to not buy a BOV. Is there any way you would be able to make a video talking about how you think these will not hurt our cars with data? I think most people would not purchase this stuff without data proving it will not hurt the car.
As of now, we haven't seen anything that would indicate harm to the car, but we will continue monitoring and post any findings that we come across!
I’ve had the torque solution adaptor plate on my car. I’ve run it on the Oem ecu, hondata and ktuner 1.2 with no issues in the cars day to day reliability.
@@EdgeAutosport have you guys found any issues yet?
@@Celomar35 so many threads on civicx that tells us not to buy a BOV
It's been said repeatedly, with clear explanations as to why, and data on fuel trims, by trusted Honda pros. A VTA BOV is not good for our motors. Want turbo noises and psssh on shift/let off? Buy a PRL cobra CAI. It's really that simple.
Just installed the turboxs and its hard to hear over the prl short ram intake. Still has a suttle sound and adds some color to the engine bay. Thanks for the video and post more for the civic si 😁
Great video, thank you for doing this video.
The diverter plate is the truth love it.
the torque solution is the one im looking for thank you for doing this video comparison
Just ordered one! Can’t wait!
I have currently the GFB blow off valve on my si 2018. I just purchased the torque solution adapter cause of you haha. its way louder than mine. thanks !
Luigi Touchette did you have any problems? I’m seeing a ton of videos saying they make you run rich and can cause check engine lights.
@@CaseysCollectibles almost 2 years on my car. 0 problem. I can adjust the sound on it. No check engine. Not running rich at all. I just love the sound. 0 issues I love it.
Luigi Touchette sweet deal ima but the same one rn 🔥

Luigi Touchette I installed the adapter on my stock bpv. But can only hear it some times. How’s your sounding? You think it’s cause I just have a adapter
10th gens are actually not strictly MAF. The MAF has provisions for speed density (MAP) as well. So, get a tuner and you won't have to worry about damaging the car, and the system will now run as intended with a BOV vs BPV. Thats where I'm going. I have a boomba, but clicked on this to see if you had a TIAL BOV featured, but it appears they do not make one.
this has been proven to be false information
This is not a maf based car, yes it has a maf but honda is not stupid, it has a map sensor as the main air measurement method, the fact that you are a tuning company and dont know this is worrying.
It's been a while since we've done this video so I don't know exactly what was said or what you're referring to. But a car doesn't have a MAF sensor for fun. It's being used to measure airflow which is also why you have to recalibrate the sensor with a bigger MAF housing. Without recalibration of the MAF, fuel trims will swing wildly and cause poor drivability during closed loop operation and overly lean or rich conditions during open loop operations. That alone means the contribution of the MAF to the calibration is not only significant, but necessary. It's working all the time. Also, on the 1.5T, there isn't a pressure model for speed density or MAP/RPM based fueling available in the tuning software from either Hondata or Ktuner. The only means for calibrating fuel is based off the MAF sensor. The FK8 has a speed density model that is used in the background and is available for alteration in the software, and I would imagine the 1.5T does too, but it seems Hondata did not deem it necessary to provide access to it on the 1.5T because on this particular engine, the MAF is the primary means of measuring airflow.
I have torque suloution on my si and on my sport hatch , best sound , no issues.
Luis Zamora how long have you had it on your car ?
Everything still good want to throw this on my sport hatch and just want to make sure it doesn’t it do anything even if it’s an adapter
Brandon S yeah same bro I’ve been seeing mixed opinions about the torque solution one. Which one are you looking at?
Lleyton McFarland that torque solution adapter because if you actually put a BOV on our car it will throw off your fuel trims and be bad for your car but the torque one is just an adapter that connects to your actual BOV
The Injen CAI sounds "blow off valve" enough for my liking lol
Amazing Video thank you very much for this
Can I install this in my 18 Civic sport touring automatic? 1.5T
someone needs to but the bov on the dyno and discuss what happens to the air fuel on shifts. comparison from stock to vent.
I have a bone stock SI and I installed the forge Motorsport recirculation and the boost went up to 17psi
My stock 2019 si hits 17 psi no mods lol
Stock Si should hit 20.5 stock lol
Would the Torque Solution BOV work on a 2020 Si? (I know its listed for 2019)
It should fit that one just fine. We need to update our listings for 2020 models.
So what if your completely catless l, what will it harm if a 100% vent to atmosphere blow off valve is installed ?
What was the exhaust at the time and video?
Will that work on a 2 liter Accord the blow off valve also I heard that they are not good for the car they hurt the internals I was told by PRL if your car was meant to have a recirculating blow off valve do not change it cuz it could hurt the motor is that true or not Pizza Alliance sick and tired of my car being so damn quiet you can't even hear the turbo
I know there is cross compatibility with a lot of these valves. I'll be honest, I'm not 100% sure of all the minor differences that might make one work and not another yet as we haven't had our hands on those yet. But it looks like many of them do.
I ran torque solutions and it does sound great but I was getting some odd readings in knock control and fuel trim running this. I really like the BOV sound so I am gonna try out the XS 50/50 even is it is quieter than Torque Solutions is fine because yea the Torque Solutions sound plate gives of a loud PHSST!! between shifts and I did not see any boost leakage running a tune up to 20 PSI. It think my issues were more with metered air all being vented to atmo.
What ended up happening with the turboxs I have the same bov and haven’t had any problems but I wanna know if it could result in problems later on
@@ryanboris6978 If you want a good BOV sound for your Civic I would go with the TurboXS Hybrid BV. I installed that and have had 0 Issues. You get the same quality sound as the plate but it still lets most of the boost recirculate so its not gonna trip any codes. Honestly If you want to keep using the sound plate it probably will not cause serious harm to the engine or Turbo but the engine does not like it sometimes and is expecting the access boost to be recirculated so the ECU might freak out a little and adjust fuel trims and other parameters to compensate for what it sees as an abnormal condition.
I have the same problem with the torque. I have a 2021 civic automatic when i accelerate then step on the brake quick the engine start to wobble end some time the idle goes so low that it shuts off the engine. I put back the original end i dont get any issues but i want that nice BOV sound wish one can i buy that does not give me any issues
I had a boomba and a good si owner pushing good power told me the AFR will be detrimental for the engine with it. Took it off and haven’t thought about it since. Although I would like to have another opinion. Thanks 🤘🏼
A valve should not affect the AFRs that the car is running while in gear and under load, as long as it's working properly. There will be a rich spot in between shifts but we have not found that to be a huge problem on other cars we've worked with. It causes pops and bangs at times but it's not that big of a deal in our opinion. It's technically not the proper way to run your valve, but some people like noises, so they get stuff that makes noise.
Yeah, a bov is bad for these cars because what we have is a recirculating valve. When you change that to a bov, the ECU will be expecting air that will no longer be there cause it's being vented to atmosphere, throwing off the air fuel ratio. Short term, you wont notice it but long term it will have bad affects.
If you go to civicx.com, this is documented with dozens of different SI owners. Even Boomba themselves stopped advertising that bov on the civicx and instead started advertising their recirculating valve.

Anything being made for the 11th gen?
Would any of these be safe to put on the sport touring? It is automatic but I believe it's still a 1.5t
Sport touring should be a 2.0
They have 1.5 turbo
So the red adapter plate. Is that a 100% vent to atmosphere or does it recirculate a little bit since its retaining oem bypass valve?
So many ppl saying its bad, but during the shift you are at 0% throttle.. so i dont see it melting cylinder walls like people think it will.. as for the cat, once you put an exhaust on the cat wont be there.. also if you change oil every 5000km, how could there be an issue?
The adapter plate is 100% VTA. I would lean towards agreeing with your thoughts. Let's just say that turbo platforms with MAF sensors have been running VTA valves for a LONG time now and although the fact that it's not ideal has always been the case, it just hasn't been a big deal across platforms, overall. Go for it. As far as changing the oil goes, if there actually was fuel in the oil, it could get bad pretty quickly. Bearings are very sensitive and if the lubricant they need is a little off from being able to do it's job, it's not good. That being said, I just can't imagine a mass amount of cars are suffering, even modified. But that's just my guess. Honda has even stated the fuel dilution problem is so rare, but they are applying their fix to all qualifying owners to give them piece of mind.
@@EdgeAutosport can you give me a link on where you said honda is giving affected owners a fix for peace of mind?
Claims make no sense.. because your 100% off throttle when shifting.. so the motor is under 0 load , so how would it enriching for a split second do anything other than hurt the cat which shouldnt be there anyway.. were talking minuute amounts of extra fuel, stock injectors only squirt a small amount to begin with. So long term i doubt it would wash out a cylinder or a anything.. ive never worried about afr before..
Car is 2018 si so i believe it suffers from that.. any modification untuned will throw air/fuel off.. even an intake.. what if the intake allows so much air that the MAF can only provide a certain reading giving the most fuel .. in that case youd need to probably delete the maf sensor through a tune ? Then it would be getting correct fuel for the more air coming in ..
I have the same exhaust on my si coupe white too big plans for it
any gains on torque with any of those blow off valves ? Thank you
No, it’s just for pressure release
So would the hybrid one be the safest to use for long term use of the car, if I wanted more sound?
In theory, I would agree with that, yes.
It’s funny because I was just thinking why hasn’t anyone come up with a safe and cool sounding alternative. I had the blow off plate and it was causing the motor to run rich. Got rid of it and got the boomba full recirc valve and haven’t had any issues. I think I may get the turboxs hybrid.
Kris Menon is the boomba just as loud bro?
Caseys_si I have the full recirc valve so it’s pretty much the same as stock unless you have an intake. The book a boy will be loud if that’s what you want. But it’ll make the car run rich.
@@krismenon8071 i have a intake. i havent installed my recirc valve yet. will it make it louder?
Jaren Holmes you’ll hear it a tiny bit more because of the intake. Can’t really hear it outside the car.
I could not find the Turbo XS valve on your website along with the carbon pieces from your previous video
Hey William, really sorry about that. We'll figure this out hopefully tomorrow! I'll get with our web guy and figure this out.
Does the adaptive valve cause engine problems? The plate
Is the adapter one illegal?
The EPA frowns upon any vent to atmosphere style BOV.
Derek Robinson a highly respected tuner said a bov is 100% bad for these cars no questions ask....great sales man tho
We definitely have heard BOVs can be bad for these cars but we have not had ANY issues with our car running on a BOV. We just post what we find and encounter for you all to see, it's up to you to decide what is right for your car.
watch bisimotos video on your statement. BOVs don’t harm the si what’s so ever, but kind of pointless since prl cai is louder than any of them
If I leave the torque solutions venting to atmosphere BOV sound plate on my car for like a month, would there be any damage I’d cause?
Not! I've been using it for a year and a half now and no problems!
Thinking of getting it. Does it cause the engine to run rich at all? A lot of people have been mentioning that
Forge all the way! The recirculation valve that is.

If it is the 1.5T (Sport & Si) motor, they will fit!
hello, which of these valves looks better on the civic touring 1.5 turbo? the one with more sporty and less generic sound?
Hey Luiz, I can't really say which one LOOKS best to you! That's for you to decide! From a color standpoint, the TurboXS and the Torque Solution parts have the biggest variety of colors to choose from so if you're looking for color, I'd try one of those two.
Hi, I have the 50/50 hybrid and I have the prl short ram, is it recommended to have both installed? Please let me know thanks.
I have the same intake and I am currently having the hybrid TurboXS bov installed on a whim while my Si is at my mechanics. Its a tuning shop that last time I was in there had a Mclaren and a Mercedes GT up on their lifts. Baiscally they know what they're doing and I got into talking with them in depth about whats good and whats not good as far as bov. They said it will work perfectly with what I have.
I just noticed your comment is 2 years old. Guessing you know its okay by now lol.
Does anyone know the stock bov bolt sizes I need to know please reply if ya can thank you
I’m thinking of getting the Torque Solution. Has there been any issues while having it? You recommend it?
We have sold tons of them without any complaints. No complaints from us either.
I bought one and installed it just out of curiosity. Sounds cool. I keep reading that its harmful to the engine over time. I didn't read any positive things about it except the noise. Any new news on how bad it actually is on the engine?
I've just bought a 1.0L civic here in the UK. Would this fit my car and give me the same bov noise or is it a waste of money?
sorry, we haven't tested that application... as we don't get the 1.0 in the states - but if the flange is the same, it should work just fine!
What about a block of plate then there's no vent atmosphere and no reserciltion ether wouldn't that give you the iconic turbo flutter sound???
Why would you remove the stock BOV. Just put an air intake and you will hear that whooshing noise/sound 😂
For real ?
Antonio Alegria yes no joke. I did that to my accord. Your car needs to be turbo though.

Hey, I have a question is the Torque Solution Blow Off good? I’m trying to buy one for my friend I was wondering if I’d good does it effect on hp or fuel or anything because I’m trying to get one and I wanted to know if it was really good
We are still currently running it on Project FC3... we haven't had any issues with it thus far.
So the only con of VTA is cat damage? So if you are running catless there is no harm correct? Please advise.
If you're running a vehicle without a catalytic converter (or cat in layman terms) in the exhaust, you might as well be asking for a check engine light and a serious/ catastrophic failure in the engine. Catalytic converters provide a basic/ vital function in the engine's exhaust to optimize fuel trim and reduce greenhouse emissions. I'm almost positive the 10th gen Civics have their cats as part of a one piece assembly with the cylinder head on the engine, making removal a bit useless and unnecessary.
Do these all work on non si versions? I feel like yes cause same engines but wanna ask
No, the non Si versions aren’t turbo charged. therefore, they won’t be compatible with the base engine.
Actually, many of the non-Si version have the same base 1.5 turbo engine. Yes, these all fit on the non-Si 1.5t models.
@@justinmarks2893 brah
Do any of these fit the 2.0T for the type or accord?
Which exhaust is this?
Jeezus Christ. People lose their damn minds. “Oh no! A Bov is going to cause it to run rich for a fraction of a second and make the engine blow up!!” People have had blow off valves on MAF cars for years and years... yes it makes a VERY quick spike in fuel trim. But enough to damage!?? No.... the only time I ever had an issue (not damage) is on a Mini Cooper with a plate. The plate caused the valve to stick and the ports were way too small and didn’t release enough pressure causing a boost spike after throttle close. Mini coopers are way too sensitive and it (somehow) cut all boost until codes were reset. Took it off everything was back to normal. The torque solutions looks well designed and ports large enough to eliminate potential surge upon closing of the throttle
🙏🙏🙏
