Check out this link... www.cumminsforum.com/threads/megacab-fold-flat-rear-seat-problems-two-fast-cheap-fixes.517259/ It talks about pinching the rod that is rotating under the seat to make it engage again. And taking slack out of the cable. May not be a fix for all, but hope it helps!
@@DanielPats1228 I just took mine apart. I was just having trouble with the seat flex lever not releasing the seat. An addition of a crimp added higher on the cable allows my seat to release. Unfortunately, my plastic handle had broken off. Clearly due to lack of patience on my part! I removed several different covers before realizing you can remove the entire seat flex mechanism with just 3 screws. The tricky one is on the backside that is not visible. Once you know where its is, its not a problem to remove. But back to your issue. While under the seat I looked at the bar that rotates which is your issue. Mine is still crimped on at each end and has not rounded out and spinning yet. Did you try drilling a small hole thru each end of the outer rod (and "peg" at each end that rotates it) and dropping in a cotter pin or small screw and bolt to hold it and keep it from spinning? Again, I haven't had this issue, so I haven't tried it, but that was my thoughts as I was looking at it while under there. That or spot weld it at each end to prevent the spinning. But I'm not a welder. Let me know if any of those ideas are helpful.
valentino reyes sorry, no. I couldn’t get it. My release mechanism was rusty from the back window leaking water. So it’s all messed up. I just had to put it back in. The seat is very very heavy. So if you take it out Make sure you’ve got help
You say the seat rusted from a leaky rear window? I have wet insulation under the rear carpet and wonder if my window leaks. I needed this video since im taking out the back seat to find the leak. Can you tell where at the window yours leaks? Around the seal or through the slider tracks?
It was leaking at the bottom corners of each side of the sliding window. Then the track where the window slides would pool and overflow. There is a drain that gets clogged in the trAck itself. What I did was drilled 2-3 more holes in the track at an angle for drainage. You have to clean them out with compressed air or something every once in a while. The fine dust and dirt clogs the holes no matter how many you have.
Wow, I have the exact same problem on my third-gen! minus the seat back rocking back and forth. Wish I could find a fix!

I have the same problem but on the other side

Kurt Pemberton thank you. I did read that numerous times. And I tried both tricks. Neither worked unfortunately though

Kurt Pemberton that’s a great idea, unfortunately I traded the truck in this last thanksgiving day. Sad day. I miss it
Any guess on how much the whole seat assembly weighs? Gotta shed 587lbs
I’m gonna say 200-250lbs? It took 2 grown men to take it out and put it in. It was heavy
Any update ? Did you get your passenger side seat to lay flat ? I’m having the same issue

I made a video as well before on the rear leaking window. ua-cam.com/video/vaLorjtb7e8/v-deo.html
I wish there was a video out there showing how to remove those seats.
The New Life. Pt2 I tried. But didn’t know what I was doing when actually removing it. Never got my latch mechanism fixed. Just put it back in
There's not much to it aside from man handling tf outta it. Ten bolts and that's it. It's not easy to get out tho
seems pretty much every one of these trucks suffer from the same issues.
Ya I think so
@@DanielPats1228 I'm so on love with the Cummins diesel engine but hate Dodge's quality with a passion 😭
