- Today we’re diving into the world of modern dating as I blind react to one of the most popular dating shows on UA-cam called “The Button” from Cut. In this episode, a girl dates two guy best friends at the same time and decides whether to hit the button to reject them, or accept a date with one (or both!) of them. Let’s get into it.

Yeah it definitely depends on what you mean by “drinking”. Drinking like having wine with dinner or a beer three times a week is normal. Getting wasted three times a week is not fine, clearly. Going out to a bar or pub to drink with friends three times a week (even if you don’t get drunk) is not necessarily a problem, but definitely would not be a match for me.

My husband brought me golfing with his best friend for our first date (I don’t golf but I rode in the cart). Then lunch by ourselves after. I got to see so much of his personality. Just hit the 15 year mark!

It is never good to date more than one person at a time. It speaks of a willingness to being unfaithful.
To be fair, as long as all who are involved are aware of it and consenting, it's #theirbodytheirchoice, it's not our business to judge. Also, being with only one partner and the concept of "cheating" goes against human nature. Buuuut, we've evolved to have higher brain functions that give us things like science, religion, education, healthcare, etc, and that includes the concept of one partner, marriage, etc. So, it's *technically* "unnatural" to only have one partner, but we've evolved to go past that and to be a one partner species, generally speaking. Especially in the Western world (many countries still have multiple partners).
@@IllisiaAdams A: human beings did not evolve from another species. Humans have always been humans, apes have always been apes. There has never been a middle species. That entire concept is scientifically illogical given what we know about how gene formation works.
B: human nature is inherently selfish, and therefore also inherently evil, as evil, almost by definition, is the seeking of self gratification above all else, especially when to the willful detriment of others. Measuring the quality of an action by how closely it meshes with "human nature" is a recipe for disaster, not success.
C: it absolutely IS our place to judge, as morality is not subjective. What is wrong for one is wrong for all. You might as well suggest that it's completely fine for a man to brutally beat his wife "as long as she is into that and consenting." Consent does not make a wrong action right. That isn't how right and wrong work in the slightest.
In summary, you are almost as wrong as a person can be about every concept you brought up. I advise you to further your education and seek help, because you will never find real happiness with the mindset you have presented. I have nothing against you, and wish you all the best.

Right! I've been with my husband for 13 years and we just turned 34. He would've never wanted his friends interested in me. It legitimately would have poisoned our whole dating experience. Instead of it being about our new relationship, it would have been about who likes who more, and who hooked up without the other around, and other crap like that. I witnessed about a dozen poly relationships which they were crazy toxic and not a single one lasted longer than 4-5 months. Yet here I am sitting at 13 years with my (one) husband 💕 😂
You're correct there use to be a time when guy friends wouldn't do that.
For example I used to work with my best friend at the time at Target , weirdly we had the same first name. There was a girl we both liked and were into. I was going to ask her out and I told him I was going to ask her. However when I was making my approach to ask her I realised she was more interested in my friend, so I didnt ask her out because I figured she would turn me down anyway. So I told my friend I decided not to ask her out.
My friend did ask her out they dated eventually got married and now the have been married for over 20 years and have 3 daughters.
I know, i miss those days too, when people we're normal

I'm male, I've been single for almost 5 years. The last relationship I was in was that the woman was physically and emotionally abusive. She did the bare minimum to keep me happy, and l was young and dumb at the time, so l stayed with her longer than I should have. I vowed I would never date or be in a relationship again. I would rather stay single than take the risk of going through that BS again. The sad part is that a good number of women that are out there today are a lot like my POS ex-girlfriend. I strongly encourage you to eventuality try and take it real slow.
Make sure the women knows how to communicate.

Hey, there. I’m sorry for your experience. Sounds horrible. I had a similar experience with someone and it messed me up too. The easiest way I found to spot these people is to set a small boundary with people early on. The toxic ones will go out of their way to disrespect it and normal people will do their best to respect it.

My husband has rewatched that show so many times, the theme song is seared into my brain.
The theme song was forever burned into my brain after my family fell asleep watching season 5 on DVD, and I woke up to the theme playing over and over again on the menu screen. Great show, but that almost made me hate the theme, lol (even though it's so good, especially when they change it to fit the episode!).
I love love love that show! My favourite thing is trying to spot the pineapple in every episode hehe! I have not seen the whole thing, though, not the movie.
Three times a week isn't necessarily a red flag. It depends on how much they are drinking at a time. Is it a glass of wine after a long day at work while doing something to decompress, for instance, or is it a significant amount at a time consistently.

I drink beer 7 nights a week. Been doing it for decades. Every night before bed. Usually 8-12 beers a night. I don't get drunk though.

I was kid in the 80's and a teenager in the 90's, 99% of the time you were rejected straight to your face. The other 1% was made up of over the phone, or asking their friend if they were interested in you and the friend telling you they weren't.
Being rejected straight to your face helps you build up a tough skin. If a guy gets rejected enough there are generally two routes they go. One route is they get stoic and their response is "oh well there are other women out there. The second route is they generally get angry and bitter towards women, saying things like."how dare she reject me, what a b word, I am too good for her anyway." I am sure there are other routes but those are the big two in my opinion.

Honestly, two things: if my best friend and I were invited to something like this, we'd probably just joke with each other. Secondly, if the woman they sat us opposite was as basic and uninteresting as this, I probably wouldn't even being paying attention to whether she was interested in either of us or thought our jokes were funny.
