  • The new 22lr from Ruger, the Lite Rack Ruger LCP 2. It just needs some sights and it would a GREAT plinker/trainer! The sights that are on it are pretty useless, but otherwise a nice enough little offering from Ruger.

    I have been cc my XDS and shooting my 44 AutoMag. Just bought my wife a LCP II. My days are over with these heavy guns. I fell in love with this little 22. Actually very easy to shoot and very accurate. A perfect easy carry self defense weapon. And will do the job.

    My lcp 2 380 has been one of the most reliable firearms I've owned.
    Its size makes it loud and hard to shoot tight groups however.
    So I got the lcp 22. Gonna be a great plinker I'm sure.

    Good video...Sights work depending on target( light vs dark)...mine is very accurate at close range where it is designed to use. I have had a few failures in 500 rounds with various ammo but CCI is flawless. Seems the extractor spring could be a bit stronger...It is light enough to carry as a neck gun and I’m going to make a little neck holster...most practical and fun little gun that I’ve purchased in a while...been carrying it in my pocket around my place when cutting trees and firewood...don’t even know it’s there...and I certainly do not feel unarmed or handicapped with this little .22lr....

It did not jam or mis fire one time out of 100rds. After a thorough degreasing, the sights could maybe be highlighted with Testors or similar flat white enamel model paint on the rear sight and maybe day glow orange, over flat white, on the front sight. Possibly using a similarly sized area at the top, on each (L/R) side, of the notch on the rear sight. A spent casing rim works for prying out the take down pin.

    I love my LCP .22. Shoots very well and accurate. I've also got the LCP Max .380 with the good sights that shoots lower than crap. IT needs some adjustable sights bad. Pretty disappointed in the .380. It shoots about four inches low at seven yards and throws about six-inch groups. I've got five .380's and this is the only one I can't seem to shoot well, even with a rest. I painted the front sight on the .22 and get good contrast and can pick it up pretty fast.

      Take a look at the little Ruger EC9s ... it's a striker fired 9mm single stack (7+1).
      It's my EDC, and so far no problems with several hundred rounds thru it.
      The grips a bit thin (for me) so I put a Pachmyer grip sleeve on mine, and I painted the sights. Carry in DeSantis pocket holster or on the belt using a Fobus Evolution paddle holster. With a spare mag in a pocket I've got 14 + 1.

      I'm left-handed and love this little guy. I can press the mag release with my middle or index finger easily. Since it is a lite rack, I can rack right-handed and hit the slide release easily with my right thumb. If like me, you end up shooting some pistols right-handed because of their setup, this one is a wondeful change. My left-handed groupings are much better than my right with this one. It's now my EDC baby!

    “The LCP II’s are actually known to be quite reliable.” You should tell my .380 LCP II that. I bought it last August 2019 and today had to send it back to Ruger for the 3rd time. One of the most unreliable guns I’ve owned, only thing worse was a Kel-Tec I bought 20 years ago.

    " Well designed gun ", eh ?
    I got a Ruger LCP Max, probably the best carry 380 in history, as soon as they came out.
    Then.........a few years later, Ruger came out with this 22.
    In their adversising splash they say........(PARAPHRASED)........
    " Hey, all you Max owners that love to practice, but don't like the price of ammo, or can't shoot all day without some discomfort from recoil.
    DO WE HAVE THE SOLUTION FOR YOU.
    Us good guys at Ruger give you a virtual copy. in 22......so you can practice as long as you want and spend way less on amo "
    BUT.......Ruger's Max WISELY has no external saftey, and the mag release is swappable.
    SO....claiming the 22 is a " trainer " is LYING OUT THEIR ASS.......because it has neither feature.
    In fact, it follows Ruger's now corporate policy, as in the Security 380 and other recent semi-autos, of FUCK THE LEFTIES.
    ( but don't call them to inquire about it, as they are rude, tell you if you don't like it to go elsewhere, and then slam the phone on you)
    What has happened to Bill's company ?????

    .22 is a good defensive round. an AR-15 has a .22 cal bullet and we go to war with it (the machine gun version of it anyway)

    • @mikedgg2
      @mikedgg2 4 роки тому +2

      Military uses a center fire 22 caliber round called 5.56. The 22lr ammo that this little pistol uses is well known for not being the most reliable (compared to center fire) since it is rim fire ammunition. 22lr often won't fire even with a good hit, therefore most people, or military, don't use it for Defense. It is great for practicing and for a cheap day at the range to plink with. Can be used for varmint hunting too, but not for reliable self defense. Choose the 380 version of this for defense.

    • @HammerStriker
      @HammerStriker  4 роки тому +1

      MikeyinFlorida is correct. The diameter of the bullet is the smallest part of the overall picture in this case. The velocity of the .223/5.56 in the AR-15 is significantly higher and the bullet is 50-80 heavier, resulting in much more energy. The center-fire design is drastically more reliable.

    Why, why do we always have to listen and watch, gun video makers shoot firearms at the beginning of every single video? Fellas, if you're making a gun video odds are that you can shoot.

    • @HammerStriker
      @HammerStriker  3 роки тому +1

      Same reason car reviewers drive the vehicle. It is not about whether or not I can shoot but how the gun behaves when shooting. Comparing my shooting across our videos from one gun to another can give you a baseline to see how recoil, speed to acquire, potential accuracy, etc would be on a gun. Everybody handles a gun differently but once you see how a particular person does then you can start to draw conclusions by comparing how they do with one gun vs another.
