I mentioned that the attack on Zahara was a 'Dark and stormy night' - I used a clear night as it was hard to see what was going on otherwise.

Love the artwork, the background music really sets the tone and enhances the narration, you just keep getting better and better each time, the patience, time, and dedication you put into your videos really shows.
So this is the beginning of the end, eh? Back when I first learned about the reconquista, my initial thought was that the final war against Grenada was a cakewalk, but this shows the truth to be the contrary. Despite the dire situation they're in, Grenada isn't going down without a fight, and I can't help but respect them for that.
Until you mentioned it, I had completely forgotten about the Fall of Constantinople, considering how significant this event was for Christians and Muslims in the west it's interesting to see how that influenced the decisions of the Sultans of Grenada, that was perhaps a major contributing factor in their decision to resist the reconquista so fiercely in the end.

I just want to say this was a really thoughtful comment. Its weird to think that on either end of the med sea there were two long lived civilizations - The Byzantine and Al-Andalus that would be extinguished in the period of one person's life span. We encapsulate each event- but you're absolutely right, they influenced the course of history through out Europe and in turn would have lasting effects on world history.

The topography and graphics made an already great video, and epic video. Adding the modern video of Ronda and Granada helped to illustrate the perilous nature of any offensive effort. In my opinion, this latter stage of the Reconquista is the most fascinating and -- for the purposes of a video -- the most action-packed. I cannot wait for part two!

I always felt kind of bad for Boabdil, especially given how he is treated in the histories. I don't think he was a bad person.I try to empathize with him given his situation, but it must be said that he helped dig the grave that Granada would eventually lie in. He made a choice, and he chose that which ultimately was harmful for his people and his kingdom. Granada would have likely fallen regardless, but his choices hastened the demise. I think he came to realize that in the end.

I think you are right Bear - he was a young brash individual who was guided by his mother to be better than his father. He tired and learned only too late that he was being played by everyone. @@FlashPointHx Yeah indeed, people in Turkey have changed for the better for the most part and thanks to Khemal Attaturk's reforms,
however i must make this sad observation: people are still not taught sadly the simple truth that there aren't and never was such thing as a good empire,
all of them are build on lies, tralldom, endless warfare, at the end when there is no more to conquer to fuel the warmongering machine turning on themselves in a civil wars and when boiled down to essentials are death cult towars a leader.
In the End there is nothing left but ruin. Romans, Chinese, Mongols, Arabs, European Empires being the culmination of those 25 centuries of pillage spree.
And then... and then the generational trauma remains Historians ignore it but you've managed to convey it relatively well and on point and it does play a important role in the whole reconquista and the following... oh wait [Spoilers] of Muslims and Jews. Muslims considered the Christians to be rebels and the Spaniards considered the Arabs as Invaders that enslaved, r*ped and murdered, their way into the continent. It was the only possible outcome, with the treat of the Ottomans only ascending, things remaining as they were it would have been a invitation. Spain at it's worse did not learn the craft to be a Empire with all the famines, massacres and genocides that all that would imply, but it was taught into it. taught by being pillaged and ravaged by the Arabs, it was poisoned distilled by hundreds of generations, but at least the healing has began and many myths are being torn down like the golden calfs that they were.

Actually Al-Andalus only existed from 711-ca.1250 and from ca.1250-1492 it was only the Emirate of Granada and when Granada was established the Muslims no longer had a strong foothold in the Iberian Peninsula. Also what inspired both King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella to finish the last Muslims on Granada is because they saw what happened when the Ottoman Empire took down Constantinople 40 years earlier,
