Excellent review and completely honest. That's always the best way to do things. The price is a bit scary, however. £230 is $289.50 USD (today's price). I picked up the Phanteks NV5 Mk II, the Lighting Kit and the Premium Vertical GPU Mount, for a total of $277.00 USD, and that included shipping. It was all ordered this past week and I'm assembling everything this weekend, so the pricing is current. I know that the ridiculous RGB lights (unicorn vomit?) is completely unnecessary, but it can be fun shocking everyone occasionally, when they expect a PC which is as black as a politician's heart. Thanks for the great video!
bad paint, poor PSU shroud design, terrible flex - vibration on panels with HDD - screws stripping - not enough room to mount a cooler properly in the right position - a stupid plinth on top written by a student trying to get into college with some meaningless slogan style poetry. A modular design that looks more trouble than its worth, and mixed screws - poor panel alignment - panels not screw in easily. Panel taking off the paint when sealing. Cables knocking out grommets - bottom cable cover not taking larger cables - and all at a price of around £230. Sounds good.
I saw reviews for this a few weeks ago, interesting to get a later perspective in a ‘James’ way - slow paced, thought out, and never overly dramatic with open eyes and horrified looks. I like your videos. Shame this wasnt very good
oh dear - ive seen so many confusing reviews of this case- some love it, some hate it. but this video shows a lot of stuff you can make your own mind up about . Agree with James
Its not a bad effort, shows a bit of cheapness in a few areas but when you've got it built and sitting under your desk or whatever I dont think its such a big deal.
I think this company released it far too soon and it has too many issues they should have caught before it got released. I suspect a buyer needed to get this out and pushed it past quality control without listening to fixes
I think a revision 2 of this will be good if they work down the long list of issues and maybe think about the things that people want when spending this kind of money , its a tough market
The floor looks pretty cool from the outside, and I like the front - the top read out section is pretty corny, like its from a game. I like their concept, just needed to build it properly
It's got a couple of positives that "high end" case manufacturers miss out on - GPU support is one of them. And its not exactly stingy on the I/O department on the front panel either.
I like the look of it, and went into it thinking wow another youtube channel just out to bash for views, but after watching it all, they really do need to fix this , thicker materials some retooling
Why would they send reviewers who are very good products that are so badly finished - I mean i get it if they dont understand how to build in the case- but the paintwork is a mess up close - anyone can see that!
I'm still trying to get a good glass panel for my havn hs420. Just got one and opened it up to a party of shattered glass. Wouldn't be upset if they had put fragile on the box!
Wonder if anyone was building in this case today and they got a pop up alert that kitguru just reviewed it. Wonder if it is in the back of a skip already
This case COULD have been so good - some clever ideas, badly executed and some terrible oversights that really would not have gotten past some company executives trained on how to build a pc properly. I hope they recover and come back with a second one. I was not however very happy with some of the 'reviews' that clearly were bought - that put me off the company more than this badly finished case.
Yeah they have someone in the company who has a vision, but they needed to spend more time fixing this - its a hell of a bad first impression. Their solution now is to get out with a second case that is good.
I think this company have a great future but they rushed this out clearly far too quickly before it was ready. which is going to hurt them - I watched the hardwarecanucks review and it was bad
36 pounds of tissue paper steel....Bloody 'ell, how much would it weigh if it were Sheffield quality? I think this would perhaps only work weight and structural integrity-wise if it were in good quality aluminium. I've gone right off steel cases with lots of tempered glass much larger or heavier than a 400D; okay if you don't build or move them more than once a year; but if you are like me and move things about a lot and take things in and out of them a lot it becomes a bloody nuisance and takes all the pleasure out of the hobby. I don't think this thing is at all fixable unless they swear-off the mainstream and go for a boutique product; but even then they'd probably be out of look because I can think of several established boutique brands that have already got the tee-shirt.
Interesting ideas, but so many little stupid ideas - I cant believe they want you to move the captive screw and didnt supply one in the other panel I mean how much is a captive screw !
Oh god that label on the top of the case is just cringe. Puts it instantly in the kids toy and I own a computer case business and understand gamers even though I'm in my late 60s and never gamed in my life.
Yes there were some audio issues at the beginning of the video but fixed later on, we removed as much of it as possible, sorry for damaging your ears 😊
This case did so well at Hardwarecanucks who I trust - you got a bad case Kitguru, you should have gotten a second one instead of just going for hits - I am surprised at you
I feel like there's a hidden byline on this company, being relatively new to the market but targeting higher-end immediately while having mixed initial success; "Silly consumer, Tryx iz 4 Kydz!" That hurt to type more than anticipated.

Thanks for the great video!
Thank you. Great comment and thoughts 👍🏻
That phanteks case is a belter. good choice !
Saw the hardwarecanucks review. they loved it - you certainly didnt hold back James
You could hardly call what they did a review could you? surely not !
Just doing what we always do, unbiased reviews. 👍
They got paid for their review.
@@SuperBROKEN81 Yeah that was embarassing
They always praise everything. “This changes everything” and so on. Not a channel for reviews, except the cooler bit which is quite decent.

Sounds good.
yeah its quite the list isnt it
Its a turd covered in glitter
Honesty always brings subscribers. Good job 👏.
Good honest review, Hardwarecanucks should take note of their own ‘review’
Very telling review. Case looks the part but you can see where cost savings have been made especially where James closes that door at 4:12
I saw reviews for this a few weeks ago, interesting to get a later perspective in a ‘James’ way - slow paced, thought out, and never overly dramatic with open eyes and horrified looks. I like your videos. Shame this wasnt very good
Thanks !
Clearly looks where the focus for this one, but even the paintwork is all over the place. nice honest review guys !
This case is a disaster, Steve B was right. good review Kitguru/James
👍
Steve burke is always honest, I think KitGuru are good too for honesty - thank you for saving people from buying this horrible case
They should have called it the David Beckham case - he could bend that one easily enough
Good one. 😆
Noice❤
If they had spent a bit of time trying to sort out the tooling issues it might have been ok, that case is not going to travel well either
A james case review at the end of the week - time for a cuppa !
Enjoy !
James, I could sense your pain when building into it - seems like its one to miss
oh dear - ive seen so many confusing reviews of this case- some love it, some hate it. but this video shows a lot of stuff you can make your own mind up about . Agree with James
I like how you guys just are honest without being overly dramatic - its a good skill to have in 2024
It would be fair to say this is pretty much a good idea made cheapily and without a bit of thought
Good honest review - just the way we like it Kitguru - I dont think James will be building a new PC into this one anytime soon!
Looked quite good in the intro apart from the GN bit lol - I saw the hardwarecanucks review - some money changed hands there, was quite surprised
Far too expensive, but the thin materials just show the quality they are not giving to people - very poorly done
It looked good when the system was put together at the end, but it seems like its quite painful to work with
Its not a bad effort, shows a bit of cheapness in a few areas but when you've got it built and sitting under your desk or whatever I dont think its such a big deal.
Any company that releases a case like this to start a new brand should be ashamed and know it not going to work well for them
I think this company released it far too soon and it has too many issues they should have caught before it got released. I suspect a buyer needed to get this out and pushed it past quality control without listening to fixes
I watched the hardware canucks review of this - they didnt come to the same conclusions !
A proper review thanks !
Glad it was helpful!
I think a revision 2 of this will be good if they work down the long list of issues and maybe think about the things that people want when spending this kind of money , its a tough market
GN were right about this one, thanks for the verification James - Steves case was falling apart on the desk!
The postive reviews for this were a joke- that panel flex is hilarious
Panel flex isnt that big a deal its not like you're going to take it out on a track or something.
@philipjfry628 Then you buy it, it's still cheap junk compared to the rest.
The floor looks pretty cool from the outside, and I like the front - the top read out section is pretty corny, like its from a game. I like their concept, just needed to build it properly

Honesty - what I expect from you guys - bravo
Glad you found it useful. 😊
Some pretty neat ideas, but they forgot that they needed to put it together properly for any of it to actually work properly
I like the look of it, and went into it thinking wow another youtube channel just out to bash for views, but after watching it all, they really do need to fix this , thicker materials some retooling
Beauty is only skin deep = Copyright TRYX 2024
Why would they send reviewers who are very good products that are so badly finished - I mean i get it if they dont understand how to build in the case- but the paintwork is a mess up close - anyone can see that!
If you saw this case in a still picture from a distance you would think it was ok, but on close inspection, its a disaster zone
Thanks James !
👍
PC cases are a matter of user preference, subjective... I have an AZZA Inferno 310 and will never change it, because it's perfect for me.
Looks like crap quality but they're overcharging, even Montech cases looks more solid for far less.
11:37 was pretty sure that was just going to snap off there in your hand !
Wow they really put that together on a tight budget. did someone tell the people making it, it was going to cost £230 in the shops?
wow thats really bad. surprised how bad it is after the initial thought of 'it looks pretty cool!' when you see it on the desk
Its a terrible case, good to see your findings are the same as GN
I'm still trying to get a good glass panel for my havn hs420. Just got one and opened it up to a party of shattered glass. Wouldn't be upset if they had put fragile on the box!
Oh dear. That’s not good to hear 😞
Wonder if anyone was building in this case today and they got a pop up alert that kitguru just reviewed it. Wonder if it is in the back of a skip already
This video shows why I prefer
GN and Kitguru's reviews.
they delve deeply into issues
and don't hide anything.
This case is disappointing.
Thank you 👍🏻

I believe the “prototype phase” was completely skipped.
I think this company have a great future but they rushed this out clearly far too quickly before it was ready. which is going to hurt them - I watched the hardwarecanucks review and it was bad
Was like watching a car crash in slow motion that vid
Oh well, live and learn I hope
I think it's very generous to call those panels steel, pot metal most likely. What other Tryx do they have up their sleeves...
Wow a lesson in how now to launch a first case their name is mud now
One additional disappointment: it looks like you lose the back connectors if you move the PSU to the bottom.
Wow I never noticed that, good spot that man
Yes, moving the motherboard tray seems to compromise back connect support.
I think they will have learned the hard way from this one.
I wonder who the hell came up with the pricing for this one and thought it would work
Discovered an unknow
The price of that ! wise up !
One screw is different than the other three ? why ?
Such a shame when i saw pics of this I taught it was going to be really good, but its not been well put together gby the company
They would have to pay me to use that case.
Cant get over the panels being so thin. I mean NO one wants a heavy c ase, but that looks like cheapest materials possible for a budget case
I dont think 240$ is considered "budget" just for a pc case lmao
@@noels0ra That was his point I think - for a budget case they would have been bad, but for a case over 200 its hilariously bad

14:29 - seems like the designers had some of the good stuff being smoked in the labs making this one. what a lot of nonsense !
21:04 this bit cracks me up. he is trying so hard to be diplomatic - just say it as it is man - its CRAP !
Interesting ideas, but so many little stupid ideas - I cant believe they want you to move the captive screw and didnt supply one in the other panel I mean how much is a captive screw !
Change the case model name to Flex-O-Matic.
This isn't a mid tower I'd say Full Tower
It's big enough to be a full tower but I think Tryx call it an EATX mid tower.
@@KitGuruTech Tryx are wrong for sure on this one I'd say more Full Tower
Looks great, until you take it out of the box
I dont think that kind of patchy paintwork is acceptable in this day and age, even for 100 bucks
Maybe they will Tryx harder next time…..
🤦♂nice try. 😊
Oh god that label on the top of the case is just cringe. Puts it instantly in the kids toy and I own a computer case business and understand gamers even though I'm in my late 60s and never gamed in my life.
Do you own a computer case business?
Yeah you'd scratch that label off right away.
Can hear a little buzz when you stop talking, is a bit annoying. But overall great review
Yes there were some audio issues at the beginning of the video but fixed later on, we removed as much of it as possible, sorry for damaging your ears 😊
Clearly an Elon Musk case with panel alignment issues like that. wozzers
Compared to Havn case, this looks cheap.
Well they need to go back to the drawing board. not much else you can add to this
How much? surely thats a joke guys !
What accent is this? are you english or scottish?
Its like they had a good idea, and had it built by children in a factory for nothing
I like my HYTE, I hope no one buys this
This is a prime example of how not to make a PC case- they have kinda ruined their name already
Is it pronounced tri-x or tricks?
It's tri-x. 😊
@@KitGuruTech I'll call it tricks then to annoy people 😁
That really is crap
Wow you must have got a bad one Kitguru - Hardwarecanucks analysis was very positive, they loved it. Maybe get another case to test?
Montech have better cases than thiis for £100
oh dear, this is horrible
quite pretty until you look closely - bit like my ex wife
Bah, you just gave me a horrible thought from my past. Thanks, LOL
This case did so well at Hardwarecanucks who I trust - you got a bad case Kitguru, you should have gotten a second one instead of just going for hits - I am surprised at you

These type of tech channels are pointless. Just reading an ad from a manufacturer.
Thats why I love Kitguru, they dont' - cause if this was a manufacturer ad, its going to kill their sales completely !
Manufacturer must really hate himself.
Thanks James !
No problem. 😊
