Great 1-2-3 list at the end about what they can improve. Really surprising that it doesn't support project Zero at this price, it really looked like it would.
I bought the regular one after watching several reviews. I bought the non-VGPU version because the thermal perf wasn't hugely different and I'm a klutz so that curved glass over the bottom fans would be broken quite quickly I thought and you confirmed it for me. But you also confirmed that my new build will be aces in this case. Thanks for the review.
I like all the fan positions, for cooling they clearly put some effort into it - a sure fire way to get Steve GN to like it - its often all he focuses on at times.
I just placed an order for this today, excited about my build - might wait to upgrade my GPU in January, hopefully prices of 4000 series GPUs drop in 2025
I think the issue here is just as much that unusually fall graphics card. I have this case running the Arctic Freezer II with no issues, obviously III has a different cpu mount. My 7900 XTX is not nearly that tall.
OK had doubts but fast forwarding to the end of the video where you see the finished build by James it looks really good. Only thing not sure I could match James in doing a build.
I find this really appealing because it is not just another fish bowl style case which are completely saturating the market. the placement, ideas, and even the routing and cable management is brill
I have it, very nice case. There are a few changes I would suggest. His review hits many of them. I’d like to see the power supply moved by 30 mm to create more room for PSU cables in rear. Would also like to see more thought into pass throughs for water cooling tubes near radiator mount locations. A lot of the lian li build run part of the loop through the rear chamber and the feed throughs on this are not setup well for that. The cable guides and grommets are awesome, much better than any other case I’ve used. Really easy to create a very clean build.
Thanks James, shame you broke the glass - did you apply a lot of pressure or was it just something that happened? very curious to hear how that happeend exactly
It’s a good review, I don’t think the glass breaking issue is anything to do with a fault of the case, more just a mistake. not something anyone is likely to do in the real world? or am I being unfair
It was my fault that the glass broke but if you try to remove the angled fan mount with the glass installed and gpu in place, it could happen to you quite easily.
My favourite case of 2024, love it. dont care about zero cable stuff, I like cables, I spend ages getting them looking perfect and they add to the looks IMO not detract
Bizarre question James, but is the box they ship this in double lined and secure? Before you ask me why, I have had several cases ship to me lately and they have all been damaged in transit, companies need to pay more attention to this
That is one awesome design - really know these guys from the other companies know what they are doing - just a bit surprising to see lack of zero cable support for 2024
I have a NZXT H9 Flow I game with that I am still real happy with and a Corsair 5000D I use as my editing and work horse. I will be getting one of these cases to swap all my editing rig into. It's so nice to see something a little different WTG HAVN more please 👏
Thank you for this video. I am planning to build my first gaming pc and I have been looking at a lot of your video's to get informed. I also think it is really nice to see new players, especially if they come up with new ideas. But this HAVN is not the case I am going for. I don't think they got it all right at the first attempt. It really is a beautifull case but for me too expensive, the pre-installed fan hubs don't include argb, and I don't like the storage compartments. I think I will be buying a Montech King 95 pro. Good looking case too, 7 fans pre-installed, probably easier to build in for a first-timer and the fan hub includes argb.
Love they still made provision for 3.5" drives. I dont understand all these modern cases that completely ignore that storage format. Its still the most price competitive /tb.
I was enjoying this, was hoping for a full on ‘James hard loop special build’ but i didn’t get it, I understand why, its a review, but it looks like a good case for something like that. shame !
Can you remove the bottom angles fan bracket and install a 420 radiator there? Reason I ask is because you cant buy the Vgpu bracket with other version.
Ask me a question, I have a Ryzen 7 5800x 3D and I want to choose a water cooler, which would be the best among these 3: cooler master masterliquid 360l core, Corsair h150 360l or the deepcool ls720 360l?
Its a great design and i thought the same after the GN review, but there are some weird oversights - the bottom part clearly needs some work, and the layout is a bit off
You mentioned some important drawbacks about the case in this video. It's a pity the case manufacturer didn’t consider these issues earlier. I'm also wondering what the purpose of the angled fans at the bottom is, aside from looking nice. 26.10.2024
Not sure about the angled fan part at the bottom, I get the reasoning, but id be surprised if it actually worked any better than normal intakes at bottom
I saw this on GN a while ago, I know Steve liked it, but overall it has not wow’d me - not a terrible case, but not wonderfully impressed overall with the design, not sure why, nothing really wrong with it
hmmmmm, think i have to wait for the mk2. Also it would appear that i don't have the option not use the angled fan mount and have the vertical GPU mount for a watercooled GPU and have a rad in the bottom because the VGPU version doesn't come with the fan mounts on the bottom, which is actually DUMB considering the kind of builds people will want this for.
This case is about as good as you can get for a first effort; with the caveats raised here and elsewhere fixed it would be nigh-on sublime; I'm certainly not going to insult HAVN by putting an Intel CPU from the last five generations up to and including Arrow Lake in a build with this case. The closest Intel come to HAVN is they HAVeN't a clue! 😉 That aside this build really looks the part aesthetically. An odd miss-step ignoring the manual and cracking the glass airflow guide:- more haste; less speed, eh? At least we know James is human now!😁
As said a normal user shouldn't have a problem with the glass. But having to remove the angled bracket for swapping fan configurations is what caused me to break it. A simple change to the way the angled mount installs to the case would eliminate the glass breaking problem completely. 👍 The reason I use Intel CPUs in these case reviews is quite simple. It's a hot CPU so good for thermal testing.
It’s fairly expensive but it’s hard to say it’s not worth it considering the attention to detail. Only thing I will say is I thought this glass would shatter like a car windscreen. It’s just shattered like standard glass 😮
It is Havn not Haven. Havn mean Harbour in Danish, Haven mean The Garden in Danish, completely different things like the name of the brand. It only it was not fishtank i would snag one up soon.

Why did they not support zero cable motherboards ? they got almost everything else 100% spot on. I just bought a new ASUS board with zero cables, this is no use for that. ah well moving on
Well, i dont see any advantage in vertical gpus at all. Graphics cards were built to be built in horizontally. Fact. Vertical is bad for the thermal paste, the cooling in general, and the fans bearings.
Please report any spam you see, it's an ongoing issue with UA-cam at the minute. Let us know your thoughts on HAVN's first case while you are here!
It’s really good. Is this their first case ? 😮
It’s their first case yes.
The founders behind it have came from leading brands. There are some details in the video about it 👌🏻
Yeah clearly they have their eye on the market. It’s been well thought out.
Really quite surprised it’s not a new zero cable mobo supported case. They missed that one and it’s not cheap either.
A lot of space in this case, no one has really filled it up yet for a massive build, which would be fun to see
A lot of fans and plenty of cooling capacity - well done HAVN
Great 1-2-3 list at the end about what they can improve. Really surprising that it doesn't support project Zero at this price, it really looked like it would.

Its one of the nicest looking new cases I have seen, really beautiful
It’s nice but one of the best ? Not so sure. Lian li still rule the roost.
Which Lian li ? They seem to tread the same ground all the time.
I've seen prettier cases with larger knockers.
I love the angled fans and glass panel; really sleek!
Never heard of them, thats one way to make a market entry!
I just placed an order for this today, excited about my build - might wait to upgrade my GPU in January, hopefully prices of 4000 series GPUs drop in 2025

@@KitGuruTech Thanks!!!
An upcoming purchase for my new system build in 2025 - fingers cross it all works out
Good review, thanks James - seems like a weird one the shattering glass
Thanks !
@@KitGuruTech Welcome!
Amazing looking build at the end, but i miss seeing your custom modded builds on kitguru, those were next level!
Thank you for pointing out the tube issue with the Aio. You saved me a huge issue I was going to have! Now to return my Arctic Freezer III :(
That was lucky ! Wonder how many coolers are affected. 😙
Yeah my brother avoided an issue too. Good info to have
Wow that’s quite a big deal. Popular cooler.

Thanks 😊
Better than Steve by far 👍🏻
@@UnitedAlgorit-el4hy Which one? 😁They all have their place; builder POV, James certainly needs to be in there. But they all have their strengths.
Thanks James - you reckon it’s actually really worth the money?
It's expensive but the build quality is superb.
@@KitGuruTech Right!
Was a very fine final build. Some clever ideas in the case too.

I do like that floating graphics card.

It's still quite goldfish bowl like but there's a lot of innovation gone into that. Particularly that single glass panel with the curve.
That is some first case for any company. !!! I’ll be watching them going forward.
So has anyone bought this who reads the comments? would love to see some viewer feedback on this.

Some pressure was applied while trying to remove the angled fan bracket with glass attached while the vertical graphics card was installed.
@@KitGuruTech Okay!

It's not double lined but uses some very thick foam inside to protect the case.

Wow that glass shattered well !
Thanks for the analysis. Was interesting to see
Glad you enjoyed it!
Wow really like that glass panel thats pretty unique. Would love to see how they do that in the factory.
Going to involve heat and probably.a lot of breakage too.
Very expensive but it looks like they are coming out straight in the high end with the best case they can make - weird its not project zero supported
Wow you must have put some pressure on that plate at the bottom to shatter the glass - never rush a build, moral of the story !!
Not really that much pressure. I wasn't rushing the build but removing the angled fan bracket to swap fan configurations for thermal tests.
@@KitGuruTech Great to know!

I'm not usually heavy handed 😂
Super job James thanks man 👌🏻
No problem 👍
That angled bracket for the VGPU would be better if it could concertina so it can become flat too.
Best first case ever !

Guessing that bouncing the air at a different angle will mean more turbulence allowing the breeze to pick up more heat. In theory
It's to improve airflow to the graphics card. 😊
It is to keep cold and hot air isolated so the GPU can suck in pure cold air. It works
That’s a good case. Well made.
Wow wasn’t expecting the glass to crack.
Not sure about the angled fan part at the bottom, I get the reasoning, but id be surprised if it actually worked any better than normal intakes at bottom
The angled fans and glass panel do seem to improve GPU temperature but it's minimal.
It looks pretty cool having them angled.

Like they included vertical GPU support. Always get the impression that vertical gpu has better cooling.
I do like the case but it's not my cup of tea. A big screen of your choosing on the inside is nice to see.
Interesting not heard to these guys before looks quite cool though
So many orange stickers ! They got enough on it ? Maybe they think people might break the glass? 😙
😂
How much is the confirmed price for both ?
£199.99 for Hs420 and £269.99 for hs420 vgpu

That will be a challenge. I think the last case I reviewed with a 5.25" optical drive bay was from Silverstone a couple of years ago.
Get an external drive and keep the fan area available
An ordinary computer case. I did not see in it the "best PC case" as many other reviewers did.
