Its carbon fibre, is is always going to cost a lot, its why no one uses it, try getting a car panel in carbon fibre, its a fortune for the proper weaved stuff. not sure about the quality of the stuff used on this case but based on what I can see without the feel test, its pretty good quality.
Carbon fibre has always fascinated me. It’s such a beautiful looking material. Light and strong. Never though I’d see a pc case made out of it however 😮
Mr James Dawson - you are truly a class leading icon of PC case building - I keep going back to your AMD Frame build from years ago - madest looking pc I have seen
Very dramatic - looks a bit busy for me, but then again its an open case and its carbon fibre, so its always going to look in your face - but its such a nice build, very clean, straight lines - nice hardware selection - super coolant which I assume is the fancy name EKWB give for red coolant - dont think Alphacool do that color, but I could be wrong - anyhow, super job James - very clean job ! 😎
This is certainly something I dont think I have ever seen before, very striking ! I think the dust maintainance alone would give me concern, but really enjoyed the video and the timelapse subscribed!
Its like watching a master at work. epic fantastic ! It looked quite good at the start, but by the time you got finished, it was basically my dream build
Absolutely great build James! The choice of hardware and combining the carbon tubes was spot on. Great video as always. Love the watercooled builds!💪🏻👊🏻
@@docbrody I like it from some angles, then other times I am not so sure. At least its different, right? so many fish tank cases now, getting old quickly
Very nice build man ! That time lapse was so relaxing to watch ❤ I think that distro was the perfect occasion to use straight carbon tubes you nailed it
I would be cleaning this weekly , but such a great build James, I love watching you make a system, you think things out so well and pick great components and get it all matched up
I don't know why but I was not expecting the carbon fibre tubes for the loop, the build looks sick! If I didn't already have a full EK loop 7800X3D and 4090 with 3x360mm rads, and 10 T30s in my Lancool III I'd be super jelly!
James a masterpiece - I hope Alphacool fill the hole that EKWB left in the market. never hear much from them however - they dont seem to do much work - so good to see this one
Is like a kit car style idea - its pretty creative in some areas, like the drive panels and some of the ideas on the paneling . Its very well put together and with the cost of proper carbon fibre I am shocked they could hit the sub 1000 euro price point to be perfectly honest.
I dont know if that is fugly or stunning - some angles its delighful, from other angles I dont know what to make of it - the red coolant sets it off james - as always what a stunning bit of work
Didn't have time to comment when this video published but I've been dying for someone to do a sick build using it and I can't wait for the final installment of the build from JCustom also using this case. He ran into the same issue with PSU sag which was no surprise after watching this but I've been tempted to save up for one of these. My only slight complaint is using an opaque coolant prevents seeing some parts from some angles but that's just personal preference. Looks amazing and you did the case justice. Pleased you also used the carbon fibre tubes to match everything
That is pretty eye catching - wouldnt say I would rush out and buy it, my last expensive case was the hideous Level 10 by Thermaltake eons ago, but i enjoyed the content. Dont often see much happening from Alphacool and I figured they would be all over the EKWB failures to capitalise on the market.
I would love this - my buddy has carbon fibre parts on his car, its such a nice material, especially if you get the new matte finish - looks legit carbon fibre too, you can usually tell the fake chinese wrapped stuff. well done alphacool ! the case world is so boring now with fish tank cases everywhere.!
Its certainly unusual - great choice of materials and it gets my vote for not being the usual run of the mill £150 box you get. James what is the Alpahcool gear like in 2024? I briefly went into some of their hardware years ago and found it a bit lacking in quality - has it improved at all?
If I'd ever want or need a water-cooled pc, then this is it. Astounding build, one of absolute excellence. The only thing I wonder about, seeing the rog matrix platinum gpu by DerBau3r in this build :3
The thing is it keeps both the CPU and GPU cool under full load with fans running under 1000rpm so the key thing is to make sure you set up custom fan curves
That case is gorgeous, but while you where taking out the side glass panel and saying it is an old style design, I took a glance at the (99$) 8yr old NXZT S340 sitting on my desk... Alphacool did a worse job there than NZXT did 8 years ago! The S340 side glass panel mounts in a similar way, but the screw part is atached to the case with a rubber ring around it to help locate and hold the panel while you screw and unscrew the thumbscrews, I'm baffled by that design choice.
Very nice. I'm sure I'll find that 1000ish Euros down the back of the sofa. 🤪 Apart from the wobbly PSU mount this looks excellent. I'm sure that 2200 watt PSU is at peak efficiency when pulling ~500watts from the wall. 😇Honestly, what on earth would need that kind of power when we only have 1x CPU and 1x GPU to play with? Whose GPU anti-sag support did you use? It didn't look terribly out of place. 12/10👌Mint, mate.
I always will love watercooling. By the way, do you plan on making a non rgb all whiteout build? Back in the day, the NZXT N7 Motherboard was very nice. But now, i don't understand why they changed the minimalism.
Given the open-frame design and the use of carbon fiber and aluminum, how does this case perform in terms of thermal management, especially when under heavy load? Are there noticeable temperature drops compared to traditional closed cases?
i think you solved the cases problem with the gpu mount to hold up the psu. If you did not say anything people would have thought that's how the case comes.
That 'rear 120mm' fan looks like it's blocking the IO. I think I would have used that lower drive plate for a Slim SAS drive (I want the X870E Crosshair) then mounted something on top of that drive.to support the Power Supply. Oh, and I never use Opaque fluid, the potential for leaving deposits in the blocks is too high.
Its certainly a statement piece- not sure its 100% practical but I like companies who try to break out of the norm., which right now is aquarium cases.
No, but buying directly from Alphacool means prices are quoted in Euros. You can buy it from Watercoling UK here: www.watercoolinguk.co.uk/p/Alphacool-Apex-Pro-Skeleton-Carbon-Case_83616.html But it's over £1000.
@KitGuruTech initially I wanted to criticize the "case" but as spent time watching the case design itself as a case became irrelevant when you look at the entire build
Wow Alphacool should hire Kitguru to make these for their shows, that is just simply epic!
Thanks, I'm glad you like it.
it is amazing - so is the price !
Its carbon fibre, is is always going to cost a lot, its why no one uses it, try getting a car panel in carbon fibre, its a fortune for the proper weaved stuff. not sure about the quality of the stuff used on this case but based on what I can see without the feel test, its pretty good quality.

Pretty sure that is EKWB coolant yes.
Im glad you liked the build, coolant is a special mix 😄
A special mix. Tell us more 😉
On a lighter note the timelapse was super relaxing, nice music choice :)
I think I briefly saw this in leos coverage from an event many months ago - took some time to get a show build up for it - looks incredible

I am usually not a huge fan of the carbon esthetic, but this is looking sick.
Like the way you torqued down that graphics card to the water block.
Looks like it should be show in some futuristic museum
🥳
great to see them not just using carbon fibre wrap over metal. bonus points 🤑
Hate that stuff it looks so pretend. Maybe dipped carbon fibre but even that is just pretending.

Its BATMANS PC ! love it !
The weight is really good, carbon fibre is so light. I cant afford carbon fibre for my car. amazed they are doing it for pc now!
Far too expensive a material for most people. isnt the roof on the M Series M5 BMW competition carbon fibre? I think its a £12k extra

Having a back cover for the motherboard is a good idea to enable you to hide most of the wires.

1000Euro to showcase the amount of dust it collects in 2 months :D

I can’t even imagine trying to keep dust out of a case like that 😂😂
Wrap it in cling film? 😊
You'd break stuff by cleaning it. Can imagine snapping bits easily.
Thank you for this video. This crazy case is just too expensive for me. But I love it.
Carbon fibre just gets me going all the time, my buddy has carbon fibre wheels for his car- cost him a fortune, dual weave or something for strength
Good choice on colour for the coolant.
I think so too!
Would need to make sure you picked the fans well in this one - could get very loud as an open case

It's real carbon fibre.
Love that GPU water block.
Loads of thought has gone into this but for the price you would expect that wouldnt you.
Given the open-frame design and the use of carbon fiber and aluminum, how does this case perform in terms of thermal management, especially when under heavy load? Are there noticeable temperature drops compared to traditional closed cases?
No I don't think so. Modern PC cases can be so well designed in terms of airflow that they perform as good as an open frame.
Alpha cool - this is amazing - didnt EKWB do something similar before they decided to shut themselves down?
yeah i saw some coverage from CES last year I think, along with their playstation project. such a waste of a good company.
