21:21 My own reaction to seeing SaffronOlive is approximately the same reaction I have when I see a happy Golden Retriever. Pretty much the exact opposite of fear.
Greenshell has been such an impressive card for me. I love it in Golgari Lands especially. It is a cool card to reanimate with Coiling Rebirth. Just a cool card all around.
I ran against this last night, not hours after you posted it and without having seen the video myself and it was a fun deck to battle. I was on Simulacrum and ended up melding Urza Planeswalker and exiling both their Fecund Greenshells after a timely Get Lost for their Elesh Norn. Fun deck.
This card is absolutely great. I put a couple in my Squirrel deck, mostly as a wall, but once I realized it's synergy with a squirrel mill deck and Carmelia, I was very pleasantly surprised.
It’s funny you made a green white deck when you saw this turtle. I made green black because I saw that landfall lizard and immediately thought about using the effect to trigger the landfalls. I run sheoldred too. My deck’s funny combo is to sack all my lands with pitiless carnage and use aftermath analyst or the new mythic 6 drop to get the lands back from the graveyard.its value city. Your idea is great too. Curious to watch your games though.
Seth, this deck looks like the kind of Non-black midrange party ive been looking for. and funnily enough I already ahd part of the shell built from my Elesh Norn Festival deck, Greenshell seems like a good replacement for Festival. great content as always friend
I wish greenshell gave that ability to creatures instead of being attached to it, then we could make a shell that uses delney instead of elesh norn since most cards in the greenshell shell have power 2 or less
So I think I know the reason (besides what the art shows) why greenshell has reach. It's typing as an elemental makes me believe that it's a calamity beast, so it's probably large enough to knock down the smaller creatures of Bloomburrow.
Idk if I'd say it's full calamity beats since Lumra is the green one for the plane but it's definitely big enough to swat the smaller creatures for sure
elesh norn mother of machines is one of my absolute favorite creatures to play right now. I have her in a white weenie deck in historic, and you would be shocked how many people just scoop the game after she resolves
1:01:05 Atraxa, Grand Unifier gets Surveiled into graveyard on turn 1. Seth: “hmmm what is our opponent playing? Rakdos aggro? Fling? A Grixis Crim deck?” This is worse than Dora the Explorer. “It’s Reanimator! Seth! Look at the graveyard! It’s Reanimator!”
I think a Dopplegang would probably be TOO overkill, no haste creatures, and its really likely that Doppleganging for even a smallish number would empty the deck if you targeted the Turtle, demanding a Do or Die turn
I feel like half the time these decks work as well as they do because of the person playing them. Makes me happy that mindlessly playing the top meta decks does not just guarantee free wins.
For once Seth got the pronunciation right and I was wrong. I always thought fecund was pronounced fee-kund, but it's actually pronounced fuh-kund. Good job Seth.
When Fecund Greenshell shoots flowers out of his back, Seth makes a video about it. When I do it, I get "sent to a place where I can get the help I need." It's not fair

Seth, have you seen the deck with burn Bright/Mastercraft raptor? I thought it was a pretty hilarious fling deck. Use cards like I'll timed explosion, craft to build a 26 or so power raptor then fling using cards like burn bright or that backup vampire!
I think the bat duo card that gains life on etc would really work well in this deck. It’s a flying blocker early on, and it gives you much needed healing that pairs with the rest of your deck. It has higher toughness than power as a 1/2, and gets its life gain trigger doubled by elish norn. I know it’s a common, but it bits the theme of your deck quite well. Also I noticed you weren’t really ever using the clue tokens from novice inspector. Why not replace that? I feel like your biggest weakness with this deck is your inability to heal. Healing on etb sounds like the perfect solution. Once you get your turtle buffs your bio becomes a flying threat too. Consider it maybe?
The pure simic version with outlaw stitchers and far scarier green cards that spiral out of control because of railway breakers and bonny paul might work a lot better. But then again, it's not panharmonican of course, heh.
I think the reason the guy scooped in game 2 is because he was paired super far up. He was only in platinum 3 and the game matched him with someone in mythic

Current number of lands over the number needed for the effect (10). Cards that have an effect based on the number of something such as lands in play or card types in graveyard show how far they are to their target.
Something that bugs me about the current way Magic's formats are run is that all of the neat draft synergies in each set are kinda dead in the water. You only get to draft a set for a month or two before the next one comes out, there isn't a block-level constructed format anymore, Standard rotating more slowly means that it's harder for new decks to compete against the larger card pool...
Yeah, sadly. I've been having moderate success with raccoons in unranked, but in ranked, plat is full of too much oppressive monoblack decks, which it struggles against with all the early removal and discard. But that could also be just playing bo1 because I'm not experienced or confident enough to make a good bo3 deck. And I'm already struggling with wildcards. Funnily and vaguely related to this video, the raccoon deck I built uses roaming thrones as a panharmonicon for expend mechanics and for doubling up on innkeeper's wards. The amount of people that try to use removal on Muerra while it has 2 ward 1s, thinking they only have to pay 2, then get hit with 6 ward 1 triggers on the stack instead, then scoop right after. It's pretty funny.
It sometimes matters because Greenshell puts the lands into play tapped. If we haven't made a land drop yet sometimes it's better to decline so we can play the land untapped and use the mana on something.
