yeah this, josh played a group hug deck like a pollitical deck, he needed to learn how to let go of grudges if he's playing stuff like this

In what world is pitching a land early in the game to kill a group hug commander to prove that JLK shouldn't have blocked not absurdly bad threat assessment and spiteful? It also 100% guarantees you'll be seeing no help from that player because obviously.
Horrible politicking by Jimmy on top of it, instead of getting slapped the entire game, he could have offered a deal to get the first card from bumbleflower AND kept his eiganjo...
Jimmy: “Josh, do not block. I am going to kill your commander.”
Josh: “Liar.” (proceeds to block, lose his commander, and despise Jimmy for eternity)
In his defense, Jimmy just said don't block it. But there are quite a few commander players, like Josh, who hate being told what to do and will try to call out said bluff. I mean, I've even been in that situation and it led me to a win-

@nachoalfonso2614 Clearly, you've never played magic before. I've had several people do that in a pod I've been in. Hell, I've even seen people do that for an entire *Tournament*. Hell, I've had people hold grudges like that against another player for a few games in a row. So clearly, you don't know how a lot of players act or play.

Josh's play used the draw abilities of his commander, which was a hare. And lore-wise, drawing means putting more spells into your brain (eg Braingeyser). Hence, a literal hare-brained play.
Poor jimmy just got bullied for no reason. He warned Josh not to block.

It’s all due to the fact that JLK is a very very petty man. In all GK vids he’s always petty to whoever dares to make any play against him first.Gets kind of old watching him make spite plays just because of his pettiness

This is the second game josh lost from being petty in killing a player when he didn't need to lol (Karlov manor)
Josh was so blinded by his pettiness this game. He failed to realized Jimmy was the least threatening player by a large margin, just because "hE KiLleD mY cOmmAnDeR !!!11!". On the edge of being childish if you ask me
@@TheSmartCinema they also stated on one occasion that they tend to target each other more since they can be back for all the episodes but guests aren't and they don't want to risk getting them out of the game too quickly, which is probably why he was a bit more lenient of DrLupo.
It was probably still underestimating how threatening he was at that point, but Josh also proved to be able to keep DrLupo in check several times after.
In the final turn, obviously we know that Olivia had the kill switch in hand, but JLK wasn't able to keep recasting his commander and recharging his hand, and three opponents were too much for the waning number of cards in hand.He probably got too confident seeing that Olivia had failed to close the game after drawing thirty cards and didn't think she could close the deal that turn.
@@KuribohY that’s cause JLK is a truly petty individual. He takes any play against him personally and then holds a grudge the entire game. Wish Cassius or Post would come back just to humiliate JLK like they always did.
Olivia is just a joy to watch. Such a great charisma. Love it whenever shes on the show.

Only Jimmy would get hate from 2 people at the table for removing a commander after giving them the opportunity not to.
He attacked into a 2/6 with a 4/5. Why would you not block when you have a valid blocker and no one dies. Jimmy made the threat and if Josh folds, Jimmy can just make it again next turn. How many of those do you let slide before you make them have it?
@@quayo90 I see the point you’re saying but game state changes nonstop. Josh has removal and so does Jimmy. Josh is a reactive player he would’ve drawn into something and he drew into several.
I just don’t feel like this is a good defense. Once again Jimmy gave him the courtesy of telling him not to block for his own sake.
Jimmy isn’t gonna keep doing the same thing all game and imo, I’d rather pay 4-8 life to keep my commander than pay tax again and again.
The world where Jimmy does the same thing every single turn is impossible. There’s 4 players. Way too much reactivity to do that.

I'm building Bumbleflower to win through alternate silly wincons, nothing through combat damage. It's an actual group hug deck. I don't understand people who look at this commander and go "I'm going to make people mad."
@@NeoSlith yeah, she's in blue and incentivizes playing on cards on everyone's turns so a lot of people probably look at her and think about counterspells, which is a shame. I already have a bant deck focused around cards that benefit both myself and target opponents and I have slotted her into the 99. I'm excited to see how she plays in it. She synergizes really well with Kros since she can give her counters to opponents in addition to the cards.
I really like cards that can buff opponents because then when one player becomes the threat everyone else can actually work together to stop them.
Josh always builds his decks to be the villain.

JLK consistently making bad plays to hobble Jimmy is impressive. Even if it weren’t petty it’s just a lot of not optimal plays threat wise
So this is why no one ever interacts against Josh in any of these series. He goes overboard with all these spite plays.
JLK picking on Jimmy and then losing is one of the best things to watch.

I understand one or two spite plays, but man multiple spite turns in a row is wild.
That entire turn at 47mins I'd look at both other players and say leave me alone and I will focus solely on Josh until he is out then scoop. The spite from Josh was so bad I'd play the same game against him.

I kinda was like Josh not getting ride of graveyards would come back to bite him 😂
Not saving his interaction against a player who chose the best 7 cards out of 50+ cards to instead keep jimmys counterspell from going through was the biggest misplay. With no blockers and only 5 and 1 life with no more mana for interaction they were likely to be taken out by Olivia and in worst case scenarios no haste enabling from them. Josh was safe, his eyes should have stayed on Olivia.
I'm sorry, I had to switch the video off... Josh's play on Jimmy irked me in the wrong way. But I am glad I finished the video later on, and saw JLK didn't win the game.
RIP Jimmy I wish we could've seen him and his deck do something for more than one turn this game I definitely understand the salt, I would've been pissed at my friends if I was in his shoes.

By far the weakest deck at the table AND being kicked in the head the whole time too. Unreal poor plays from josh in particular ignoring the insane token deck all game and helping feed it even more cards.

Yeah, not exiling the Golgari deck's graveyard seems like a content play. No way he thought that's actually correct.
@@SonnigesDeutschland I don't think that was for content. He had the gearhulk in hand and no instant or sorceries to cast and then recur, so it is a pretty dead card without his graveyard. I think his biggest misplay is thinking a golgari player with almost 10 mana and a sculpted hand couldn't make him lose 9 life. His excuse was that it was a new card, but there are plenty of staples in those colors that could have closed it out for her.
@@yoda9240 Yeah, that was more what I was referring to. I've died in many games to the misplay "...that I can think of" leads to.
I get that feeling, Jimmy. You play nice, clean Magic, only to be ruined for it by players scared of what you are doing, and not scared of what other's decks are capable of.
So moral of the story is to play a bloomburrow pod at a rainforrest cafe.

Hey Josh, small tip, the deck style is called "Group Hug" not "Ben Hug". Easy mistake to make. Poor Jimmy haha
I knew it was bad when I was surprised when Josh did anything NOT to spite Jimmy. Became rough to watch midway through.
I do think they missed the chance to finally print the 15 squirrel summon card with a dead emrakul on the art.

As explosive as some of these plays were, josh's salt this game made it awakward and hard to warch. Felt like being in a room with a couple who are obviously mad at each other, but are not doing a great job at keeping it low key. I either wanted to leave or hide behind a couch while they argue.
Just say it Josh. Ms. Bumbleflower has a statblock like a Pixar Mom.
I think that joke was already made on either Commander at Home or Elder Dragon Hijinks, so Josh may have just wanted to avoid stepping on anyone's toes

Honestly he controlled the game really well. His biggest misplay was at the end when he wasted the last of his interaction to get Jimmy and Ben killed instead of keeping his eyes on the person who kept the seven best cards out of half their deck.

Right?? I would have liked to see more commanders from the main set, not more of the precon commanders.
@kitcobb6046 Thank you! Jimmy's deck was super interesting and required a unique deck build and play style. The others played and built well, but really, they just relied on the *V A L U E* built into their commanders.
@@AdvocatorofHeresy Josh and Olivia just had lots of generically good cards with bloomburrow commanders. Jimmy and Lupo's decks were more interesting, with Lupo using high cost enchantments that you don't see very often to benefit from the cascade and Jimmy using effects that sacrifice his board to gain full value from blinking his commander. However, Jimmy's deck relied more on the value built into his commander than anyone else except maybe Josh, his entire strategy was built around blinking his commander for the value of his commander's etb.
@yoda9240 You're taking my use of "value built into their commanders" completely out of context. Jimmy actually had to build his deck to *squeeze* the value out of his commander. Josh, Olivia, and Lupo all had commanders that sit on the board and say "When you do the thing you want to do, you get something else you want for free that lets you do what you want to do more." Which is why Josh, Lupo, and Olivia could all the play "generally good" cards. Because when they played any random card their commanders gave them V A L U E. Comparing that to Jimmy who picked a commander with a unique ETB that had special requirements he had to meet, a mono white color restriction, and no built-in way to re-utilize it's own triggers is wholly intellectually dishonest.

Watching Josh play this episode was maddening. Really felt like he just wanted to troll Jimmy as much as possible. The catharsis watching him lose was incredible

I feel Olivia's "What kind of litteral harebrained harebrained play is that?!" remark went over a lot of people's heads. It was amazing and I will using that phrase for as long as my GF has a Ms. Bumbleflower deck.
Before watching the actual gameplay, I felt the need to comment to say how much I enjoyed the animated intro! I got a nostalgic rush of endorphins dating back to my childhood watching that intro because it reminded me of an opening intro in a cartoon or movie! Hats off to the editors and creative design team for that wonderful intro and the anthropomophization of the cute forest creatures into each of the players. 🎉🎉
