I only enjoy timeless through these videos because I just don't have enough of the cards I want and I a hesitate to craft them just for a single format. So these vids have def become my favorite on this channel
I feel the need to point out that there was an out at 34:20. It's not a huge out, but: let your opponent play out their turn, hopefully using up their mana on Ragavan or Demonic Tutor instead of holding up Lightning Bolt. If they do hold up Bolt, use Thoughtseize to either take it or force it. Either way, once the Bolt threat is gone, Necro down to one, play Blackcleave Cliffs, and fling the Death's Shadow. This puts the opponent to 3 life, with you having 1 spare R/B mana available. If one of the cards you Necro is a Lightning Bolt, then you win. Like I said, it's only a small out, but it IS an out, and it would've been a great turnaround.
I don't even think is that small of an out. Worst case scenario Seth is drawing "only" 6 cards, but 4 bolts are in the deck. If the opponent punts Seth can even tutor for a bolt guaranteeing the win.
@@DiogoVKersting While the odds of getting the Bolt aren't that bad (around 47% to 70% depending on how much he gets to Necro for), the Tutor's a no go. Seth doesn't have a Dark Ritual, so he doesn't have the mana to Tutor, Fling, Bolt.
I’ve been rocking a blue heavy (only non-blue non-fetch is a single forest) temur tempo kind of shell in ranked Timeless. Necro is one of my favorite matchups. They spend their life, I protect a Ragavan and counter their Beseech’s nd Sheoldred’s etc., and punish their ridiculous life loss. It feels good.
I thought about this deck right when timeless came out and was like "Why has no one built this?" Glad to see one of my favorite channels popping off with it!
for timeless, I would like some of the cards that are already on arena be make available for crafting, tron lands come to mind. We all need big Emrakul, or at less something with annihilator. would also like to get Progenitus, more for brawl then timeless but still. And I guess something to make re-animator a deck would be fun too.
I've been playing Rakdos Necro with Laelia in Timeless for a while, but my version is much more midrangy and less all-in. I don't even play Dark Ritual in mine because Necro is the only thing it's all that good at casting (I play Deathrite and Ragavan instead, so I can't t2 kill, but have t3 killed before). Also, Alchemy Shadowheart is one of the best cards in the deck. Red specialize combo kills with Necro similarly to Laelia, but even just the bear that pings both ways and threatens the flip is good when I'm the beatdown, black specialize helps stabilize against burn and the like as a 4/4 lifelinker that effectively drains for 1 on end step, 4/4 Deathtouch is super relevant for enabling Temur Battle Rage kills to close out games against Titan Field type decks, and even the green specialize (off Deathrite and green splash fetchables for Deathrite) and blue specialize (off sideboard Ashiok) end up being relevant in weird edge cases.
I see a lot of Necro in timeless.. I gotta say, I don't mind. I think the card balances itself out. Either you win quick or lose quick. Makes for spicy brews and more games per video.
