But they're like polar opposites when you think about it. Same man but their personality opposes each other.
9th - the man who hates
10th - the man who regrets
11th - the man who forgets
12th - the man who accepts

@@RosyRecluse The people who laugh the loudest, cry the hardest.
The only option is to look at life with a level of silliness. That way some of the horror is hidden from us. When we turn and look at all the lays behind us.....we become cold.....thoughts leave us.....fleeing in terror of remembering.....why.....
Why were are here, in this place, this exact point, at this exact time.....why..... The memories of all those little things others have, of friends, family, events. Replaced by the absence of it all. The emptiness overwhelms, that place inside us all, it collapses into a black hole. Joy, happiness, wonder, want, desire, love, caring, compassion, kindness....... it falls...... stripped from us as we are pulled across the burnt sands and through the ruins that were once palaces in our minds where we kept safe all that we were. The unyielding hunger taking all around us, leaving nothing but the husks as painful tribute, as warning, of what was once there. Closer and closer to the cliffs edge we slide, as the elements that once gave us raise and meaning taken from us and compressed into an finite nothing from which there is no escape. To even call it nothing attributes far too much meaning to its true form......the absence of everything.....of anything.....There, everything is so far away.....it must be quiet.....and peaceful.....so peaceful. Could we lay there? Would we find welcome? Or perhaps finally, rest? And, finally, to dream......
Panic sets in, clawing at the ground in realization, grabbing at anything that would allow me to break the embrace of the black holes mass from dragging me over the cliffs edge.....face down in the dirt as sand threatens to blow into my eyes, tears make mud as they creep down my dusty face, my feet find purchase......at the cliffs edge, over looking the precipice where it waits.....
The fleeting memory made manifest in the distance, my muse, watching, the sand burns my eyes, here eyes leave me as she turns away, leaving the place that was once and has forever been hers to have in its entirety...in this finality as one voice, one feeling, one thought, she rings in my mind truths beyond truth....
      No.
......The in lies the rub...... Closing my eyes to wipe away the contamination of this acrid place. For in what sleep what dreams would come...... Shoulders tighten, thighs flex finding my footing. Anger now, enveloping my every fiber like a pouncing predator I begin to raise against the winds carrying all that was into the depths of forever. I open my eyes searching the horizon for .........nothing......... was she even here? Could she have? ...........would she even...........
      No.
      Not after.......not for me.......anymore........
The hollow fires burn through my being, raging in defiant presence, daring the inevitable inky monster to use all of its strength all of its power. I weigh its conviction, its fortitude, its constitution ....and finding it wanting.... Its weak, I realize, for all its trashing and wailing, its weak......it needs...... It has taken everything and crushed it down to a bare singularity, and yet as I stand here with nothing left Im worthy of wanting for.....It hangs there....needing.... I turn and look upon its form, standing atop the last inch of ground left inside, staring into its gaping maw, not the slightest hint of all its eaten to be seen.....however, shining in the absence is the lies it has offered, the cheeky bastard, consumes all things within me and still thinks it can offer me release......
      NO!
      It will not have me.
I has taken all that gave joy, and left only the agonizing loneliness to entice me, to trick me into to the fall, the false trust it thinks it can inspire in me is an insult. It believes I would let it feed upon the last of me after such an abhorrent display. After all it has stripped from me, after all the time, energy, thoughtfulness, will, sweat, tears....after ALL I HAVE DONE TO BE KIND AND COMPASSIONATE?!??! IT THINKS IT CAN HAVE ME?!??!! THAT I WOULD BE SO EASILY A TREAT?!?!?!
      .........No.
Staring into the void, the void stairs into me. I know you. Ive thought I felt you before, but now I bear witness to your true horror. The terrifying actuality that is impossible to convey to another, especially anyone who has never known this form before. You darkened my path. You've taken everything away. Im not even sure I care for the things lost now to your arrogant apatite. But I swear, on all you think you could ever muster upon me, I will not fall to you. You will not have the satisfaction of consuming me. I will stand on this cliffs edge, refusing to join with something like you. Something so deceitful. So uncaringly destructive. The treasures lost now, what little value they had before, a wealth of reminiscent calm. Gone. This charred landscape will be my refuge, and you will spend eternity longing for the broken shambling mess you have created, never being able to feel complete in your task. If I am to suffer.......so will you. And every infinite eternal agony I experience as I am reminded where joy should have been, every smile that shatters my face cutting into me with its shards and slivers, every ghost that haunts me begging me to just let go and float into the comfort of the nevermore, they will only fuel indignant rage furthering my denial to your end. You. As long as you exist we will be here. You are my prisoner.
The void stairs into me, I stair into the void. The void blinks.....
And so those who stand of the cliff face, as the collapsed good place inside we're all born with strains to find a way to the last bastion of meaning within ourselves, we exist out of pure spite. Distractions of merriment and jocularities are the masks we wear so those around us do not suffer our curse with us. However, when the vail gets too thin, the air gets too thick, the situations get too real, too serious for the reality of this existence we have contrived for ourselves. That rage will return, for its never truly gone. It anchors us here. And it will burn brighter than the brightest star, shining blacker than the blackest night. Reminding all that would dare take joy, and happiness from this world.....There are worse things than death.... This is not a life worth living, its a slow motion suicide. And it will be made to hurt every second that monster inside that has swallowed so many believes it can have us. It has no power but to destroy. But we have the power to deny its glory. And however hidden and invisible the strength those like me must have to resist its call, we know through toil and torment, that our strength against the unimaginable pull of eternity is our only weapon. To mindlessly self indulge for a moment, put simply, "There is nothing it can do that we have not already done to ourselves."
So here we stand. On the scorched barren cliffs. At the edge of oblivion.
Or something like that. Its a riff on an article about depressed people showing strength by standing against the pull of the depression (ie, the black hole), and how those that fall were not weak.....they just lost their footing and no one was there to catch them. No matter how strong someone is, sometimes the rocks beneath their feet just crumble....
So remember, those depressed people in your life may not be the ones displaying the symptoms you're expecting. They may not wish to open up about what causes them pain. Because its all to personal. For others to not accept that while it might not seem so bad to them, for those who stand against the pull its what tore their world apart. Traumatic events cause PTSD, and what you think is serious enogh to be validated as a PTSD causing event is entirely irrelevant. Attempting to talk someone out of that place as if its not worth being affected by is not helping. Its damaging. If anything it errodes the ground under our feet. You know, at the cliffs, on the last inch we have to stand. The best thing anyone can do is validate their feelings that they have been harmed. Even if they did it to themselves. When everything is wrong, hearing you're reaction is right, correct, or even just logical, can be a beam of light in the dark. We're not weak. We are some of the strongest people you will never know about. Because we stand against that pull, going about our days, all day, every day. Except sometimes....unfortunately....we grow weary....the call to rest becomes too appealing....and our strength finally fails....many of us know our strength will fail some day, we're just wating to meet that day.....but it is coming.
If you have a friend who was the sarcastic joking type, possibly tended to be into the darker things in life (art, music, etc. BUT THIS IS NOT A RULE!!! ANYONE who likes ANYTHING could apply) that no one has talked to in a while, just sort of disappeared, trying getting ahold of them again. Dont just send a text. Try email too. Their pinterest, google messenger (or what ever they call that service now. If they have an android phone they have a gmail they have that service. all hail the google overloards), send a letter (searching people online is easy, find their address), something. It very well might be nothing and they just drifted away from that friend group. Or you just might save a life. Trust me...speaking for myself, It would do so much for an old friend to get ahold of me....Ive been basically a hermit for almost 8 years now ever since basically no one stood up for me on my side as some life shit was hitting and well....my feet feel firmly set....but Im getting tired....I cant rest yet....but.......

"That's your punishment: you live." That concept has stuck with me at an almost soul level. Live to regret everything I've done. Live to feel helpless and unable to fix mistakes. I know how you feel doctor, I know how you feel.

    • @theredstonebuilder1120
      @theredstonebuilder1120 2 роки тому +10

It may be a punishment, but it doesn't have to be. Living isn't existing with regret, it's taking that regret, and making sure you never do the same mistake again. You hold it tight, till it burns your hand, and you say "no one should ever have to feel this pain, not on my watch".
Imagine how many people would feel sad and helpless if the Doctor died. Imagine how many would feel if you did. I don't know what you're feeling, or what you want to do, or how the past year has been, but inshallah it's been good for you. Living isn't a punishment. It's a chance to show kindness

Why do you think people love stories about the chosen one? Or why do some people even idolize superheros. Or even why do people looove WWE superstars? The need for a hero is installed within our souls. And writers, comic book artists, directors have exploited that need for profit. Their is nothing wrong with loving them thou.. But i tell you😭 their is a Real hero who installed that need in your soul in the first place. Jesus christ left his throne in heaven and came to the world he taught he healed people then he was humbled betrayed humiliated killed and on the third day he rose from the dead. If you humbly honestly pray repent for all your sins(read the10 commandments) and believe/trust that Jesus did all that for you ..You will be saved..Jesus saves you from hell fire🔥.. and gives you eternal life in heaven. You capture what I love most about doctor who, the raw emotion. The choice of music is fantastic it's so great and fitting that I downloaded it and listen regularly. You capture all the great monologues that tap into something very real and human. I love it. "Then that's your punishment: you live." Here's a tiny little fan theory: did the Moment retroactively create the Timeless Child? The Doctor's punishment is to live . . . forever. To live throughout the entire history of the Timelords, never truly dying, forgetting being the Doctor and choosing to become the Doctor over and over again. We know the Moment/Bad Wolf can make changes to the past, present, and future simultaneously, and even change the laws of the Universe (as when she made the life of Captain Jack a fixed part of spacetime so that he can never stay dead, as the Universe will revive him). Is it possible that, in a sense, the Timeless Child was created in that moment when the Moment decided on the nature of the Doctor's punishment?

He can never truly lose, ever. His punishment is to live while everything else dies, his friends, his companions, his family, even his enemies. Everything around him is death but he lives, his punishment is to forever bear the suffering and pain of death. Maybe that's why while he was in the confession dial he wanted to lose, just for it all to end, instead of having to relive every painful moment he's ever experienced in order to confess and survive he would rather die, but even in another world, even in another dimension, his punishment remains, to live.

Fallen Sully Season 5, Eleventh Doctor’s First Season... it’s an amazing start to the series if you don’t wanna start with season 1 which was 9th Doctor’s first and only season.
I’d say, watch 11th doc then 12th doc, ignore 13th Doc it’s not canon. By this time, you’d know exactly who the Doctor really is... so 10th would feel sort of like a legend of the Doctor’s Past...
Now go watch 9th then 10th or watch first 10th then 9th.
Don’t forget to watch the specials in order too...

    The Doctor
I have traveled long and far I’ve lived many life’s
Take a peek in the window of my eyes, you will see pieces the universe
If you could take a stroll through my memories, you’ll be astound of all I’ve witnessed and maybe feel what I experience
The burden will bring you too your knees pleading for mercy or a break
I wouldn’t wish this on my enemy
    I’ve experienced so much joy
My memories brings me more pain than joy but I will keep finding a way to give hope, share a little wisdom with a reason to smile,
And pray to the Holy Spirit I can save the rest in their names because that’s who The Doctor is
I run far and long, lived many lives
Inside what appears to you a big blue box
I’m not sure where I’m running to but I’m am The Doctor, the last of the timelords, I run alone
So I don’t have to live for another life I lost
Trust is it’s becoming too much to burden but I will find a way to be a healer but I can’t be healed
My two heart’s will remain as large as my tardis
To all those souls I lose through my time
I promise I will make you proud
We’re not suppose to live forever,
    but you perished too soon
I’ll Create something in your memory that will remain everlasting
It will be heard like a melody when it chimes
Cause I hate when stories end so your song won’t too
When I cross paths with evil
I promise they won’t escape from me
    I’m am the doctor
I will fight in the name of all the lost souls
But I won’t take a life to be like them unless it’s the very last resort and their no longer have an ounce of humane
The weight of the burdens and the souls I carry with me grow
Though I will find a way to save, because I’m the doctor and I’ve lost too many I won’t see another go
I run far and long, lived many life’s
Inside what appears to you a big blue box
I’m not sure where I’m running to but I’m am The Doctor, the last of the timlords, I find a way to heal but I cannot be healed
I run alone, stand for everyone
Ask of me I fear no one
    They all fear my might
I’m known by many names from the blood on my hands
Some got left some i saved some I lost some I took It all depends on which story you heard But I’m all that and more I do what what I must nothing less nothing more
But My two heart’s are as large as my tardis
    I’m The Doctor!

This is honestly the most emotional and nostalgic things of doctor who. Expressing all the pain and loss he chooses to carry and live with and continues to love no matter how much he hurts himself and others. Shows the harsh reality and i love it. series 10 is how this makes me feel so far imo. im loving the first few episodes and I hope the rest of the series is just as powerful as it's potential seems. Thank you for this master piece. ❤❤❤❤

As God's sacrifice for our sins. If you humbly honestly pray repent for all your sins(read the10 commandments) and believe/trust that Jesus did all that for you ..You will be saved..Jesus saves you from hell fire🔥.. and gives you eternal life in heaven. This might be the last time you read the gospel..he is coming back soon not as the sacrificed lamb of God🐑 but as the king of the universe🤴 with fire in his eyes🔥. the Judge of all mankind. Jesus loves you❤

These arcs and these storybeats are what make the Doctor relatable. If he were a perfect god it would be such hard to feel for him or to see yourself in him. But he fails. He messes up. He hurts people and he ruins things. Just like everyone else. What makes him the Doctor is that he keeps trying. He keeps getting up and he keeps pressing forward

The Doctor is my favourite character in all of fiction. And this video, and another TheGaroStudios video "The Lonely God" shows every reason why. "The Lonely God" shows that the doctor is a hero, he's "the man that stops the monsters" and shows how wonderful he is. But this video shows the tradegy of being that man, because he will always lose people, that's the price he has to pay.

This is your best work yet. I was wondering season 1 to 4's HD remake's audio is really bad maybe you should use the video from HD versions and take the audio from the normal ones. But what do i know im sure you considered it.

They remastered it for Blu Ray I think. However, it's not proper 1080 HD. They still shot the series in SD, not HD. It's just upscaled and slightly better quality (from 480i to 576i).

HD Exitsed in the 2000s although at the beginning it was very expensive, only high budget films would shoot using the format.

You're not. He hasn't been given a fair go yet with Moffat's Clara infatuation overshadowing the series but I hope the new showrunner lets his genius shine.

I'm so conflicted :/ Eccleston will always be no. 1 for me, but deciding a second between the other three (I'm talking New Who only) is way too difficult.

    • @ichabod1370
      @ichabod1370 7 років тому +6

Fiddlesticks! Capaldi's time with Clara was brilliant -- struggle, failure, obsession, revelation -- resolution, and acceptance of the costs thereof. Maturity, right there on screen. "We'll do this together", let the chips fall where they may, is a far cry from Oops, gotta wipe your memory *even though you don't want me to* and then he gets to cry and be sad. Screw that. This is, Yes, I have no right to decide your future for you -- let's flip for it, like equals, and take the results like without whining. For that, Clara had to stop being the MacGuffin that Moffat admits she was in S7, and become a full-fledged, difficult, conflicted human being. And she did.
Loved it. But don't worry; that's not a peak you scale every day. I'm sure S10 will be back to a much simpler, easier adventure with monsters style, shallow but great fun. It changes, DW does. That's now it stays alive.

the best of the MODERN doctors, Tom Baker will forever be mine. But what about Capaldi that is so perfect for me, his face has finally caught up with his age, I believe this one is over 2000 years old. The classic doctors were far more "innocent" if such a word can apply

The 10th Doctor is my favorite, my reasoning is... welp, he's just the perfect representation. Well the Doctor is my favorite Doctor, she is the only one of her, even though her face changes it is still the same timelord. She is more human, than timelord, doesn't follow the rules. Was unexpected, the timelords said she wouldn't ever be a timelord, welp, she isn't, she is THE DOCTOR, SHE IS HER OWN RACE, SHE.... She is the Doctor.

she's missing that and about everything else, the ego, the flair for the dramatic, being front and center and dominating the scene, the flirtatiousness, the wit, the leadership, god complex, darkness... i know it takes time to think of all these things but you have to when someone tells you that you only dislike the doctor just because she's a woman.

    Okay, so a few things,
    1. The doctor has seen so much, been through so much. He has to *live* through that. Can you imagine, seeing every single friend you ever had, living, growing old, and dying, while you sat there, on a constant cycle of alone, together, alone, together? He has watched companion after companion move on. Forget him. Find a new best friend, big brother, or lover. All while he just sat there, living his lonely life, on his own. He says he's alright. But is he though? Constantly forgotten, abandoned, and left. Imagine a life like that. Never truly dying, never truly living.
    2. Despite all of this, he doesn't want a single other living being to endure this. The worst torture of all. And there is only one man who will risk his freedom, his life, and his soul to make sure nobody has to endure the same thing that he lives with every day of his life. He will not let anyone suffer. Not on his watch. He doesn't care about himself. He'd love to be free, to have an everlasting companion, sure. But he doesn't want to let others feel his pain. Never.
    3. Through all the pain and suffering of this show, we all still love it. Is it because of the sass? The humor? The romance? The aliens? It might be. But I personally all think that there's another reason. The doctor and others all feel much pain, with the doctor himself feeling an incomprehensible amount of it. But here's the worst part: we *like* it.
**EDIT** sorry for the length of this message, I just felt like I had to write something for the doctor. Idk why but I just did. This video moved me almost to tears, idk bout you but yeah.

Eccleston was brilliant enough to let us have this series for the indefinite future.
Tennant, and then Capaldi, both _immense_ Who fans when they were kids, brought just that much MORE energy and emotion to the character, and it shows like a freaking beacon! Smith brought the playfulness of Baker (Tom, obviously, not Colin), and Whittaker showed us that it's okay to be fragile, sometimes.
And I thank _all_ of them, each one, for their continued generosity in the many comicons around the world, and their contributions in the Big Finish stories, and much more.
Just my two cents' worth, from a loooong time fan - my first Doctor was Pertwee, LOL - who's never disliked a Doctor, even during the most absurd periods. And there've been plenty of those over the decades! 😄

"Salvation is damnation" maybe because if you help someone you are just inevitably saving them from something they cannot do themselves. Thus the weak survived and the strong sacrificed.

One of my most favorite videos in this platform. I've watched this countless times over the years, and it still manages to make me feel indescribable emotions. It's just absolutely and heartbreakingly wonderful.
You've captured the very essence of the Doctor in an incredibly specific lens - you've captured what he feels deep inside, the pain and suffering and loss that he is constantly experiencing throughout his very long life - the very same pain and suffering that explain why he is who he is now.
Doctor Who - more specifically, the first ten NuWho seasons - will always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you for this video.
