Thank you! 7 years later, this video is still solving problems. This was exactly what was wrong with my machine and it's now working perfectly again. Just cancelled the repair man and saved myself the £60 call out fee. You're an absolute legend! 👍
Thanks a lot eSpares for this video! After two days fighting against an e02 error from my candy washing machine, I saw this video and I fixed the problem in only 15 minutes. As you say in the video, a lot of detergent was stuck in the chamber, .eSpares is an excelent store, with professional and efficent workers!
Very informative video indeed. Got an issue with my Miele premier 300 showing "check drain" light when emptying and it won't spin after a cycle. So I'll give this a try and fingers crossed. Took the bottle off this morning and it was full of gunk, only leaving a small hole for air to get through. Cleaned it out and replaced. My washing machine is now spinning again and better than ever. Thanks eSpares you've saved me a small fortune.
Great video thanks. I have a Gorenje washing machine which is very good and to be fair, rarely have an issue with its function. I am normally ok fixing simply things as long as there is excellent videos like this to identify fault. My machine would wash but refused to spin, a classic pressure switch issue. I checked all the pipes for blockages as well; they were all clear until i saw this video and checked door seal aperture. So the point of my post is for Gorenje owners because the machine doesn't have the classic chamber. The hose comes up from the pump and sits on an aperture in the door seal. Poking my finger up from inside the machine I found a slug of stinking mush that had completely blocked the aperture, fooling the pressure switch. Gave that a good clean out and hey presto works a dream now. So thanks Espares for putting me on the right trail.
Thank you for pointing me to the right direction. On my machine the hose to the pressure switch came loose. The washer started the program, but failed to stop filling up at time. The machine stopped the cycle, drained the water and then a blinking error code IE was displayed.
I believe you have solved my problem, i am just really worried about disconnecting it all, everything on my beko washing machine works fine apart from water filling up and not stopping so doesn't go into a cycle, but i can drain it ok and set it on spin, will hot water clear any obstruction that may be in the chamber or hose please?
He have a H20 sign come up on our hotpoint. Water initially comes in through the soap tray but then shortly stops and the h20 sign comes on. No kink in pipe, I have also checked the pressure switch and blown down the hose. Do you think I need to buy a new pressure switch?
Welp read instructions fully or in this case watch video fully before doing this. Blew into pressure switch, before i got to the part about don't blow into the pressure switch. ^_^ Anyways I believe it's fine just gave it a little puff of air and heard the switch engage. Blew down the hose as well so I know there isn't an obstruction. (washer overflowed) So now i'm on to find out if there is a relay or something that went bad... Thanks for the help though. :)
Hi Twiztidguy, thank you for your comment and good advice about the video if you have checked the hose and the chamber it is likely to be the pressure switch.
I was really hoping to learn how to diagnose the pressure switch instead of the hose and the chamber. A technician told me when you blow into it it should click twice, one for the heater element signal and one for the max water level. Mine only clicks once so i was hoping to get an answer from here.
HI Leon de Bruin, pressure switches on older models did have the levels you could check by blowing down but the new electronic models you can blow down so you need to check the hose and chamber at the same time to be sure what has failed but it would normally have more than one level.
Hi Malcolm, thank you so much for your comment. We are glad to hear that you appreciate our videos so much, and we hope they have been able to help you...and continue to help you if needed in the future too.
I have a Hoover machine that keeps giving me an E03 code, everything is okay until it drains then goes to do the rinse then spin but stops with the code. I have replaced the pump and filter, heater element, all hoses clear, could the pressure switch cause this error? I can switch it to drain and spin and it does that. Im at my witts end.
Hi, Thanks for the Video. My Samsung Eco-bubble washing machine has an issue with the LED display panel. The panel is off meaning I am 'flying blind'. Washing sometimes takes 9 hours and even after this, the clothes are still dirty. The local dealer/ technician is proposing a replacement of the main control board. Please let me have your opinion on this matter
Hi George, If there is no display there should not be any other problem that could cause this other than a control panel fault. The long wash cycle may be due to the machine not heating the water but if this has occurred at the same time as the display fault again the cause could be the control panel.
Hello, my Indesit 126s recently discovered a problem. The Drying and spinnig is runnig perfectly but if i set a washing program the washer stops. First it gets water in and spins a few times but when it comes to the waater flushing it directly stops and the leds flash. from the left its led 1 and 3 so fault code f10 pressure switch not sensing. I testet the hose by blowing air in it and it starts bubbleing inside. is it possible that a broken sensor causes the problem? how do i test this?
Hi, I have got Simpson SWT604 washing machine. It keeps on filling water and then overflows and the cycle never starts nor it drains or rinse. Actually, it does not start any sort of cycle. i have checked the hose connecting pressure switch. it is fine with no damages and kinks. The pressure switch i have got has only two connections and they show continuity whether i am blowing into pressure switch or not. When I opened the pressure switch to see inside, it had a bit of water on the rubber seal but could not find any water or moisture traces underneath which could affect electrical solenoid sort of circuitry. I suspect that pressure switch is defective and I should replace it. what do you suggest? and why it does not have three contacts as i see in most of the videos on youtube and internet. Another thing to mention is that I have blown into the tube to check blockages which was clear but i have not cleaned the plastic chamber which you have mentioned in video to be opened from downside and need to be cleared of any detergent which i will do tomorrow.
Hi Xad, 2 litres is just enough to fill the chamber and activate the pressure switch but don't worry if it is a little bit more or less it should still work.
After researching for our kenmore elite oasis things seemed to point to the pressure switch which unfortunately is expensive because it's part of the main board and not a seperate piece like on older machines. Got the 1st one(main board) and still the same problem of overfilling. That's after blowing through the hose and makingsure it was clear. Code of f68 still punted to a bad switch so I ordered another and same thing. Talked with a tech who said it was probably the hose and that it probably had a pin hole in it so I ordered a new hose and installed. Same problem still exist but with no codes. What gives?
Hi Charles, no idea but let's look at this logically when a machine fills the amount is controlled by the pressure switch and the board, if changed then the only thing is the valve is not switching off or there is a blockage in the pressure chamber.
The procedure you are quoting is usually for resetting Hotpoint or Indesit machines if they have been moved so the water pressure sensor will correctly identify how much water is in the drum. It will not reset anything else.
I have a Bosch Nexxt DLX Model 4301UC/03 Could the Pressure Switch cause my machine to fill with water than immediately drain? It doesn't agitate or anything. Just fills then drains and shuts off and unlocks the door and the display still shows the time for the cycle. This has been going on for some time now. I can let is go for a few days and the machine will work fine for a few months then it starts doing this all over again. It's driving me crazy. Grrrrrr!!!
Hi Susan, we need to rule out everything as it sounds like the board which is difficult to diagnose so let's address the issue. First, it is unlikely to be the pressure switch as it will not switch the water off until it has reached the correct level, second, it has not detected an error code which can point to the board. check it is not syphoning the water due to the outlet hose being too low and check the connections to the pressure switch and the board.
there is a plastic ball inside the hoes which connects the drum to the drain pump inlet. Could you pleas tell me what its function because some one repair my white point washer and damage it and remove it saying it's useless.
Hi Mohmd, the eco ball was introduced by manufacturers to prevent any detergent being lost by stopping it going into the sump hose and making the machines more efficient.
Hi Imran, your details are not very clear. Does your machine have a digital timer informing you the time left?. Does this time change and from what to what?. Does the machine completely empty the water?.
Hi George, our Zanussi error code video (ua-cam.com/video/ERJNwmGQW4w/v-deo.html) explains an E20 error is a drain related problem. This could be the machine emptying slowly or the pressure switch stuck. For more information see our diagnosis video: ua-cam.com/video/frEJhX9Sppw/v-deo.html
F28 is a communication error, this is where the 'control panel' cannot control the power module. Check the connections on both modules are not loose, damaged or contaminated. We do not think it likely to be a pressure switch problem.
Had a presure switch error on whirpool f24 water owerfloow. Pressure switch was ok, intake valve ok, pressure hose ok and at the end problem was heater. Wats the worst I checked that first with ohm meter and values were inside recommended so i assume it is fine. When i took it out it was in bad condition. So the heater could be problem after all.
What if the pressure chamber is part of a sealed drum as one piece and not a separate part? For example this image: imgur[dot]com/RCVBymR does that mean it can't be cleaned out unless you pull out and cut apart the plastic outer drum? image source: youtube[dot]com/watch?v=rvjRUx1kAvU
Hi Jeanean, thank you for your post and you are right if you have checked everything else it could be the pressure switch itself so thank you for pointing it out.
HI, my Amana NTW5100XQ0 washing machine initially fills properly, and drains properly, for the fill/wash/drain/pre-rinse/spin, but when it comes to final rinse cycle, it doesn't fill all the way with clean water, only about 1/4 fill, then starts spinning dry/soapy clothes in the dry cycle, it started doing this about 2 months ago, any suggestions?
Hi Ken, check the pressure switch and the pressure chamber for a blockage which may be causing the irregular fill levels but if OK it could be the main board.
Saved me a fortune blew into the black pipe reattached the switch. It brought my machine back to life. thanks a million times.
Hi, thanks for your comment. It's great to hear that you have been able to keep your washing machine running after watching our video!
Just blew into the pressure switch hose and now my washing machine works, Thank you from Iran!

Hi graham, thank you for your post and very good information for Gorenje machines well done☺
Thanks for the clear explanations. Our front-load washer is overflowing and i suspect it's a problem with the fill pressure switch.
Amazing. I took the drwin pump apart, stripped the machine and it didnt fix it. Blew in a tube and it worked. Thanks!!
Hi David, good news to hear that there was a simple solution to fixing your washing machine! We are pleased that our video has helped you out.

Hi Stacey, thank you for your comment and glad we could help.
E17 error on my washing machine after replacing the rubber seal. Tried everything. Was working fine before!
How must resistance should you feel when blowing down the tube? I heard some bubbling from inside the machine but i was red in the face lol.
Brilliant video ,so well explained, thanks very much
Hi John, thanks for your comment here. Glad to hear you found our video so useful, and we hope you have the pressure switch issue resolved now!

Hi, your description suggests the pressure switch is faulty so this would be the next thing we would replace. 😊
do you got pressure switch in spares and if yes, how much it will cost?
So is the 2 litres just a random amount of water or is that the specific amount the machine is looking for to not just reset but to re-calibrate?
Hi Xad, 2 litres is just enough to fill the chamber and activate the pressure switch but don't worry if it is a little bit more or less it should still work.

Hi Jazzyman99, try getting to the pressure chamber from underneath and it is usually connected to the tub.
So they putting the 2 liter's of water following by selecting the drain cycle is what resets the machine?

Hi Tony, thanks for your comment! Nice to hear you found our video useful, and hope it helps you fix your washing machine.
how do I disconnect the chamber?
Sorry Laura, we do not have any information showing this for your machine.
W machin spin cycle no,t finish water inlet start again timing on display again what,s problem please
Hi Imran, your details are not very clear. Does your machine have a digital timer informing you the time left?. Does this time change and from what to what?. Does the machine completely empty the water?.
I saw guidance online to blow on the pressure switch... Now seen this video saying this risks damage to the switch... Ffs
my zanussi washing machine is showing code E20 how can i get this fixed
Hi George, our Zanussi error code video (ua-cam.com/video/ERJNwmGQW4w/v-deo.html) explains an E20 error is a drain related problem. This could be the machine emptying slowly or the pressure switch stuck. For more information see our diagnosis video: ua-cam.com/video/frEJhX9Sppw/v-deo.html
Could this throw a F28 code. All the connections that your supposed to check for that code send ok. Kenmore HE2plus

The pressure switch itself may be bad.

PS. I have to stop the washer from final dry spin then turn the knob to fill to make it fill the proper amount during the final rinse cycle every time
Hi Ken, check the pressure switch and the pressure chamber for a blockage which may be causing the irregular fill levels but if OK it could be the main board.
