An overfilling washing machine is commonly caused by a blockage of grease and gunge in the pressure chamber, or more rarely a faulty pressure switch. Check for a hole in the small pressure chamber tubing
Thankyou for explaining how to deactivate childloc on my Boschk!! It was driving me crazy, thought the machine had packed up after only 12 months and worse, with a huge pile of holiday washing. Will refer to you in future.
The heating element on my Bosch machine short-circuited, and tripped the fuse. I replaced the element with a new one, but since then, machine has been behaving erratically. Once it reaches the end of each stage (wash, rinse, or spin), it thinks it has finished the wash completely, and the 'End' light comes on. I have to manually start the next part of the cycle. Could the control board have been damaged when the element short-circuited?
Liked very much this video. I couldn't find the short circuit though. It trips the safety switch after I finished set the wash program and press start. Normally I would expect the valve to open and water to flow. Regardless I unplugged the inlet valves or heater it trips at the launch the program. Not sure what elements the program starts before the inlet valves ? It's a lg wd-1049c.
+Thierry Lo Sorry I am late replying but UA-cam has just 'found' your comment. If the board trips your power as soon as the cycle starts and does this when the heater is fully disconnected the problem may well be the board itself.
Thank you for this video. My washing machine has died. A Miele W844. It had been drawing power from a multi socket which had a kettle and a toaster running at the same time. I guess that is what caused it to stop. Lesson learnt, single power socket for the washing machine. Any tips on what I might do to get it up and running? Thanks.
Thank you for such an informative video. Our frigidaire affinity washer was working perfectly before we had a bad thunder storm. The power to the house was going off and on and we ran around the house unplugging computers, TV's, and my washing machine. The machine had power (the lights on the front were on) but we unplugged it anyway. Now it won't work, it only displays error codes, a whole variety of them. Do you think the control board has been damaged? You were mentioning something about fuses? Any help you give will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Hi Prariepatch, It is possible the control board has been damaged by a surge in electricity and this may be more likely if your supply passes through overhead power lines. However it may be due to components 'ageing' and not fully resetting after the power has been off. Follow the video again and if the machine does not reset and at least partially start the machine then you may need to replace it.
Thanks for the useful vids. Our Bosch Avantixx 8 with digital display does not give any fault messages but blocks in mid cycle, flashing NO on the display. The cycle will then continue to completion by pressing the Start button again. I have run various programmes, some with no clothng in the drum, but the blockage and NO message reappear. Ideas?
Sounds like your machine is not heating the water and the machine is spotting this and stopping. Put the machine on a boil wash and see if you can feel any heat on the glass after ten minutes. If no heat see these other videos: ua-cam.com/video/Ftm8lDVVw2E/v-deo.html and ua-cam.com/video/PMYM_j8Uoyk/v-deo.html
Our machine keeps doing whatever it wants, including bleeping. Sometimes it keeps repeating the same action, sometimes, it tumbles but doesn't do the final spin., sometimes spins but the items are warm so I guess it hasn't rinsed even though it should within the programme selected. Not sure what the problem is, can you help?
Hi, great info, thank you. I have a problem with my Hotpoint HF8B593G. The programming knob just goes round and round and does not change the programme but machine is working but only in one mode, the last one set I think. I was just going to buy a knob from you and replace?? Could it be that simple???
Hi Sue, This is a common problem with your model where the shaft socket on the knob breaks and no longer moves the switch (see the third image on the part www.espares.co.uk/product/es1636443/). You may have to remove the control panel and PCB to release the old control knob before fitting the new.
sue burge Have a look at the following video, although for a Hoover machine the repair method is very similar. How to Replace a Hoover PCB and Timer Selector Problems.
My main lower control board on my indesit blew and damaged a part of the control board so I got a replacement good second hand one but now it turns on and then the lights flash but jothing else, woukd you please let ne know what I should check next
Ok, and by control board and power module, you mean?... I know of the CCU central control board and the interface control board (the one on top crony behind the push buttons). Are you saying then to replace the interface board? Thank you so much for your help!!!
We cannot confirm any part if we are not working on the appliance. Fault tracing is often a process of elimination so it 'suggests' there is a problem with either the CCU or the interface boards (or possibly both). You could inspect these carefully for signs of burning or damage but often you cannot confirm a faulty part without replacing it.
My Whirlpool front loading washer that gives an E08 code, "if I clear the codes" it will do a half a dozen loads fine, then, fault the same E08 code. I can repeat that over and over again. I am thinking the mechanical water valves are working fine but the control board is the problem. I am curious what you think?
It seems to be a door lock fault on the control panel on my Zanussi machine. Is the control panel reasonably priced to replace or am I better off getting a new machine? Most engineers in my area cost £50 just to come out and look at it. The machine itself cost £300 roughly when I bought it 5 years ago.
I have a Zanussi ZWD1472 washer/dryer, starts to fill for a few seconds, but stops and wont fill or wash, will spin to empty. No error code displays Advice appreciated. appreciated
Hiya, your videos are great!! My washer stop after about 10 mins, I have drained it by hand, and done the reset. The lights are on, on any programme , but its just not doing anything . Please were should I start first, also done the reset for error codes , but no error code comes up, please help!! lol cheers in advance.
Hi I have a 13kg Samsung fully automatic top loader washing machine model number WA13G7Q1 which stopped working. The technicians told me that my control/computer board is faulty and need to be replaced. They can't find such a part as it is "old tech" and is no longer available on the market. Can you please help find this control panel/computer board or indicate to me where I can find the part.Thank you
Our problem with a Bosch Avantixx blocking with no fault message seems to have resolved itself without any intervention. If the problem reappears I will contact your helpful site again. Thanks for your advice so far.
Hello, first of all, thank you espares for helping me fix my previous washer problem: the water inlet valve just needed to be replaced! Now, unfortunately, it's acting up again: I press start, it fills the soap box and then just a faint motor sound and nothing, won't continue... I've tried just draining it (by putting it on 'Drain' function and sometimes it has worked fine afterwards. But this time, draining it isn't solving the issue... Help?
+Lisa Reutenauer Hi Lisa, the two problems are not likely to be related. We have a whole series of diagnosis videos to help identify your problem. The most likely cause is worn motor brushes so we would suggest you start there with a video like this: ua-cam.com/video/N_r8d93xPYw/v-deo.html
Hi Josh. Great videos mate! Got a question for you. My LG washing machine will not de power the water inlet solenoid, so it just keeps filling. Pressing the power off button does not stop it either, only pulling the main plug out of the wall! So I'm guessing it's PCB problem... Is there any sort of reset or anything else I could check that could be causing this problem.
Hi, I have an indesit WIA111, about 11 years old. When I turn it on at the switch, before any program is selected (it won't let me) the inlet hose starts thumping, drum fills with water and the only way to drain it is to undo the lint trap. If I turn off the water supply and turn on the machine at the switch, I can hear a quiet thumping (possibly pump?) that continues indefinitely unless I turn it off again. I've emptied the trap, checked the inlet hose and filter, no idea what's happening. Any ideas? Thanks
What if the board has been already changed but when we try to start the machine it starts to smell like a burning rubber and it starts not to work anymore. The board was changed twice already and the same thing happened. What do you think is the problem of the washing machine in cases like this?
This could be any electrical component in the unit causing this , possibly the wash heater. Only way to confirm would be using a megger and checking for any lower insulation readings than expected.
Hi eSpares, after some advice please mate, got a zanussi FJD 1466W, just doing a wash and then a loud click sound and it stopped, all lights except the power light have gone off, goes that sound like a new control panel replacement to you guys? thanks matt
Hi Matt, check the connections between the control board and the power module. If you cannot get two lights to display suspect the control board at the top of the machine.
Superb! I now know it is the control board, but sadly it is AEG and only they can fit the board. So too expensive. Madding as it is only 4 years old and now going to landfill.
Hi L Bennie, anyone can fit the board and that's why we show replacing parts to fix themselves, check out our website www.espares.co.uk/search/ma143pt1980/washing-machines/pcbs-and-modules/aeg
Hi I have a Hotpoint Ultima washing machine thats about four years old and the machine has recently started to smell on further investigation it seems the water is not heating up it just washes cold no matter what the temp setting is but the machine shows no error codes and washes without pausing through its cycle although it does seem to wash a alot quicker than the time on screen suggests I imagine because the water is not heating up is this possible without error codes ?
Hi Iain, if the electronics have not detected an error it may not be displayed but if it is not heating then you need to test the heater with a multi meter to determine if it has failed and the video shows you how at 7.05
Hi just wondering do you have a vid for replacing the dampers/suspension for a hotpoint I have an old wma56,,,,had to replace a top spring as it snapped...a friend suggested it may be the dampers over the bareing im keen to try and fix this first before having to resort to giving up my beloved machine ive had for ten years. thanks in advance
Hi areia511, The usual cause of a broken spring is an out of balance load making the drum move excessively (see: How to Prevent a Washing Machines Spinning Noisily ). However if you want o see a damper video we have a similar machine in a video at: How to replace a washing machine damper - LG
Hi eSpares, I have a LG front loader washer which won't go into the short spin before the rinse cycle, so after the wash cycle the water is drained then the washer just come to a halt for one minute before filling the water for the rinse cycle. What do you think it could be the problem?
It works fine on a rinse and spin cycle even with clothes inside, only the Quick and Intensive cycles (the two cycles I use most often) won't work. The washer was overfilled with water right before playing up like this, I fixed the problem by reconnecting and untangling the hose.
I have a Siemens i890 (approx 5 yers old) that is not turning on. When it does the screen is blank but the machine is operating fine. Is this one of the power Boards?
Hi ther so I have a indsent washing mashine that's got f11 however I had a plumber come out to look at the isue he sed everything is working fine but the problem he had found was the mouther bourd is this something I can fix my self do u sell the part and is it a quick fix or do I need a new washing machine
Hi Kenneth, a control board is unlikely to be the problem. Our video: ua-cam.com/video/aud14I0Zu9M/v-deo.html explains that F11 is a drain problem so watch this video to identify what is going wrong: ua-cam.com/video/frEJhX9Sppw/v-deo.html
What if you get no error code? My Indesit WIXLwill not start- when I switch power on, horiz & vert lights flash once & red door light flashes continuously. I select the program & press start & the corresponding vertical light comes on. When I press 'start' button, single vertical light stays on, door light goes off and nothing happens. I have replaced door lock with no result.
Hello JOSH My washing machine samsung, model WA90F4 is not powering on,the problem started with the buttons not responding well and now is not even switching on.
+buzo steven 'Not responding well' is a bit vague. If you mean the appliance did not light unless you 'fiddled' with the switch or turned off and on a few times it may be just a damaged switch. Turn off and examine this as there will often be signs of damage.
Hi Josh my washing machine will restart after completing a cycle if I don't open the lid within a couple of minutes after the cycle ends. Can you recommend?
My AEG over a couple of washings stopped going to zero at the end of a cycle. The cycle would finish correctly and istead of 0 would display the start time blinking, ready to press start. Then one day it tripped my breaker and turned everything off. No error code could be seen as tripped as soon as turned on. I checked heating element, grimey and crusted, replaced with new. Now the machine turns on but when pressing start spells ERR in the panel. When pressing start and next button , then shows E66 --- which still is related to heating element ? How do I proceed from here ?
Hi HazeOverL, the ERR usually shows if the programme has selected correctly, the error code E66 will still be stored in the memory which is why it is showing when you press the buttons.
Hello eSpares. My washer is doing something very weird. It fills as normal, does the wash cycle selected but then tries to spin (without the drum emptying and turning). There are no blockages anywhere and I have tried a new control board (but the same problem). Also put a new pressure switch in it but still the problem persists. The washer will do everything if I nurse it through (ie manually set to drain, or spin etc. but it seems very confused). Any suggestions what it could be ?
+Debra Booth Sorry we are late replying but UA-cam has just 'found' your comment. We suggest you see some of our diagnosis videos like: ua-cam.com/video/frEJhX9Sppw/v-deo.html
hi, need help...I have a Samsung washer front load. It is overflowing with water when it fills. Already changed both hot and cold water valves, pressure switch and hose. Could it be possibly the control board? Thanks!
A common problem on some Samsung's is the tube to the pressure switch can rub on the tub during spin and get a hole. if this happens the air that is pushed up the tube to turn the switch off when filling escapes. The machine thinks it has not enough water and continues filling. Check the hose for damage and for more information see another video: ua-cam.com/video/VS48G_cwCXo/v-deo.html
Hi eSpares, need some advice please! My Hotpoint WML560 won't fill. Water supply is good up to the inlet valve but doesn't go any further. I tested the valve with a multimeter and it seemed ok, so I then tested the power to the valve when starting a program and found that there was none! Would this mean I have a faulty circuit board?
Hi Dave, First check what the machine does, If the door locks and the machine will spin and drain then you may have a fill problem and if the valve is OK then it may be a faulty module.
eSpares Thanks for replying. I tried a spin cycle but still no joy. The door locks but then nothing happens. The cycle light stayed lit for 10 minutes (with nothing happening) then all the function lights started flashing and a weird grinding noise started coming from the bottom! I take it this means that the module needs replacing? Thanks again for your help.
Dave McCarthy Unlikely Dave. Those symptoms suggest that you have a main motor problem (probably the brushes). See our videos : ua-cam.com/video/D5Aw7CBEGPI/v-deo.html and ua-cam.com/video/MNInJd7js5A/v-deo.html
I recently replace a door switch on a frigidaire front load and I fix the problem. on the other hand I started the washer cycle and everything went well until an alarm sounded and would'nt stop but, the washer contiue to work properly. How do I stop the alarm sound or buzzzer sound.
hi, so the hose I mentioned in my last message was actually the pressure switch tube. Water pressure seems normal. Thanks for the video. What else could it be?
Try taking off the hose from the switch and blowing into the tub. If it is blocked the machine will keep filling. For more information see another video: ua-cam.com/video/VS48G_cwCXo/v-deo.html
Hi josh, we have a Beko 71642 which decided to stop on a rinse&spin cycle, I have checked as much as possible but it will not continue . I then went on to check the Code error which reads 1510 can you please tell me what this relates to. the solenoids are working, the pump is working, I have checked the brushes on the motor and they are ok , I put it on 1 cycle and heard the heater start so I don't think its that, please help.
+Richard Dyer Hi Richard, do you mean the machine washes but does not move on to rinse/spin. If that is the case the machine is not identifying any heat so either the sensor or the heater itself may be faulty. If the machine is not washing you may have a motor fault. See our motor diagnosis or heating diagnosis videos.
Hi, my LG washing machine play button is not working. All other buttons work properly except the play button. I also notice that if I hold down the play button for about 5 secs some lights will start blinking. What do you think the problem might be?
I have a Hotpoint Aquarius WML540 - program won't start - all lights go out except start button light which stays on (green) - no flashing lights - is this a fault code zero or a fault that cannot be identified by control board? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Hi Chris, a couple of checks I would make is select a drain cycle and see if the door locks correctly. Check the drain pump is not blocked or damaged and finally check the main motor brushes and heater with a meter for continuity. If all check ok it would suggest a board, as mentioned these may not be replaced without having to be programmed.
On my Samsung (wf45H6300) front load washer (US), I got the HE code several times and then starting getting the AE6 code. The heater element seemed ok at a little under the 27ohm spec--about 17 ohms if my meter is calibrated correctly This problem happened eventhough I wasn't using steam and have hot water going to the washer. Should I replace the heater element anyway? If that doesn't work, then replace the PCB (panel control board?)?
Hi Harold, the reading you got from the heater would suggest it is ok, HE refers to temperature sensor so check that first, AE6 refers to a communication error between the boards. Check the contacts and any signs of damage and good luck.
hello. My Whirlpool has been giving problems. its not spinning properly. Someone unplugged it and turned off the water supply. Now its giving problems... Can the board be reset?
Nikita Clark The board is not likely to be a problem and cannot generally be 'reset'. If your machine is sometimes refusing to spin after a wash watch another one of our videos that may explain the problem: ua-cam.com/video/uKBy-9NEF5A/v-deo.html
I have a Beko WMB 71442W. When I turn the dial to select the program I want the display flashes and it jumps between a number of different wash programs. It takes several minutes to be able to select the program I want as just as I select the spin speed and temperature I want it jumps back to a different program before I get a chance to start the wash. Very annoying, any idea what this could be?.
Hello Josh, I have an older front load Kenmore (2002). it isn't digital, it fills, washes, but then will not drain and remains on. does this on any wash cycle. do you have a video to direct me, or please tell me what to check?
I have Lg washer and the connector from Main board panel to front control panel are burnt, how do I check if the main board or the control panel board are good. thank you
Hi sunsteve1, you cannot meter the PCB but check it visually for any signs of damage, if the connector is too badly burnt you would need to replace it.
Is there a simple way to reset a control panel? I have a Kenmore he washer front loader. Some how the panel reset itself. The cycles are now under a minute long, the panel does not display water temp options. I have already unplugged it overnight in hopes this would work, but no go.
Hi Lori, the control panel is likely to be resetting each time the power is off but you may have a problem causing the cycle to stop. If the machine does not finish filling or shuts off immediately filled watch this video: ua-cam.com/video/VS48G_cwCXo/v-deo.html
Hello, Our Bosch Avantixx 8 (3 years old) stopped in mid-cycle without an error code. The door will not unlock. Any suggetions on how to proceed? Thanks very much.
If it stopped full of water see another video: ua-cam.com/video/frEJhX9Sppw/v-deo.html if it was empty see this: ua-cam.com/video/QYPqpjLV7s4/v-deo.html
Hi my zanussi zwf1600w washer is not working. I have managed to get an error code 40 so I changed the door interlock part but it's still not working. It comes up with the start of programme time on led but then all lights go out and led changes to 0 as if cycle has ended. Any ideas?
Once the machine detects 'an error' it will shut down. Have you checked all the lock connectors are tight and not burnt as this also could be the problem. If these are OK it may be the control board. You may have to replace this to prove if faulty or not.
hello, I have a whirlpool duet front washing machine, During the spinning cycle , it just shut down and lock the door, I have to open the top and reach inside the unlock lock the door; and now it wont power back up, I had replaced the noise filter still no sign of power. I was thinking the control board is bad? what do u think problem is?thanks
Hi B P, has it completed the wash cycle because that would indicate the issue is the spin and you need to check the filter, test the drain pump and the motor.
it was the final spin, but it wasn't finish the rinse cycle and its stop and its still have water inside with the door lock then all power off, now i tried to reset the breaker or unplug still no sign of power. so if i replace the control board will it power back on?
I ha an LG Washer, Model WM2688HWMA. I recently replaced the bearings which also involved replacing the rear outer tub, the old one had cracks around where the seal should go and would not allow it to snap into place. I did clean the inlet valve filters while I had the hoses off. Within the first couple of days, we had an FE code which sounded the alarm and we caught it in time to avoid problems. Today the front door on the washer burst open with water going every where and lots of water still in the tub so I figure it over filled. There was no alarm though. Question(s), what should I check, the inlet valve(s) or the water level control or all of the above. Or just replace these items? One thing, the top hose (largest one) had a different part inline than the original which was mushroom shaped.
Karl Rolling Ok lets think about this fault logically If the machine has shown an FE error it knows there is too much water in the drum so pressure switch and hose are OK. That leaves the fill valve sticking (easiest and cheapest to replace). or possible the control panel. If the problem is not cured by a valve then the board would likely need replacing.
Karl Rolling The water passes through the drawer but is not controlled by the drawer so it cannot cause overfilling. If water is leaking out of the drawer it is caused by a blockage of either the spray jets above or the outlet pipe below.
But, I don't have any power or lights at all. It dead, not powering on at all. No clicking. Someone suggested the noise filter? Do you think? As far as the door lock, I will take your advice and replace, but would that cause the machine to have no power. It never really stopped mid-cycle, it was mostly-at the completion of a full cycle, the door would be locked, instead of unlocked-and all lights would be dead, no power? So I should still do the door lock then?
Sorry I was looking more at your later post and missed the fact the machine is now 'dead'. If you have continuity on the filter it is OK. Check the circuit breakers in your home have not tripped and there is power to the appliance. If there is the correct power (may have to 'lives' in the Americas) then the next possible cause would be either the control board or the power module, either could cause a 'dead' machine.
Hi, I have a Whirlpool washer Model# WTW57ESVW1 that seems to be out of cycle. When you first start a cycle it usually fills with water first ,then goes into the wash cycle. My washer starts to fill and agitates immediately. Then when it gets to the spin cycle, after spinning it stops and then begins to fill with water as if it were starting a wash cycle. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
+Bill Martin If this is a new washing machine it may be that the machine has been programmed for these little quirks. For example many machines 'weigh' there load by turning the drum and stopping to work out how much water is required and most will rinse spin and rinse before another final spin.
I have a Kenmore Elite 41473210 washer that turns itself on and then beeps (reminder) to start the cycle. If we unplug the machine and just plug it in when we wash it will cycle through fine and shut off- several minutes later it turns itself on and starts beeping. No fault codes. I'm guessing one of the boards is going bad? any suggestions?
+almost genius It is more likely to be a heating problem if everything else appears ok. If the machine fails to heat the machine may recognise this and shut down. For more information see some of our Diagnosis videos in the following section: ua-cam.com/play/PLZopaZU-UQSHj1noiwEJ99JjXWcEcSAbZ.html
Hi I have a hotpoint wdl 520 keeps switching of through all programs not displaying anything just switches off had a guy look at it and he said it was in good order but still got the problem he said would take it away and sell me another one it works sometimes should i replace the board or the washer any help please
Hi, the PCB cannot be replaced by anyone other than a Hotpoint engineer or their agents as it needs programming to work at all. If you follow this video and everything else seems OK the choice is to have an engineer replace the board or replace the machine.
I have a problem with my affinity front load washer .. I have cleaned the drain pump it is clean , door lock is locked when on but it will not do the final spin it also has a little bit of water left in the drum. I'm thinking it's the control board , but I want to be sure. I checked the motor and the belt in the back all is good..
Hi there. On my machine the drum doesn't rotate on spin. So i first thought about belt or brushes but then noticed that the timer counts down from 11 to 10 and then 1? Does this mean its the control?
Hi Neil, does the drum turn on the wash cycle and that would suggest the belt and brushes may be ok if not check them first, the board will control the display function including the time so test the connection and look for any signs of damage.
so last night i put it on a wash cycle and all that happened was the counter counted down. The machine did not fill up with water, the drum did not turn. If its the brushes or belt, wouldnt the fill still work?
Hi Neil, it has to fill before it can wash so check the inlet valve with a multimeter but this does sound like a board issue but you need to rule out all other possibilities first.
Hi, I have a washing machine samsung WD-B1255 and when I use a high temperature, some times I have an error "8E". I read in the machine manual and I saw this error referred to something related to a thermistor. I replaced the thermistor, which is situated down with the heater, but the problem continues. The washing machine has another two thermistors which are situated on top, where is the drying system, but I think those two are for drying system and they don't involve in my problems. Please help me whith any solution Thanks in advance
My LG washing machine is, stock up at the last of spinnning at 5min it was stay around 3-5 hours before end so do you have any sugestion what was problem?
Hi harly, has it drained the water because it will not be able to continue to the spin and finish, is it washing OK? and last what have you already checked.
@@eSpares sir, it is spining continue spining but the speed is not much they cant dry the cloth inside spining stop spining stop they cant continue high speed so, it take 3-5 hour before end
Hi harly, check the filter and outlet hose to your plumbing, test the drain pump because if it has not drained it may not be able to spin the water out of the clothes and if they are all OK it could be your main PCB.
Hi , The problem with my Panasonic front loader is similar to shorting. but it operates for about 10 minutes and then it shorts out at the switch at meter box. Any help with this is greatly appreciated. Glenn
Hi Glenn, if the problem occurs a short while into the main wash programme try it on a cold wash. The problem is likely to be a failing heater element so on a cold wash when this is not used the machine may run its full cycle. If this is the case suspect the heating element.
Hi Josh,Thx for your reply. I fitted a new heater element and it now works . Problem though. I think I either didn't tighten the nut up enough or did it up too much as the machine is now leaking ( re - the nut that pull the rubber seal into place). I suspect the water is leaking from there ( haven't confirmed that but it probably is coming from there, as the machine has never leaked prior this current problem). In hindsight, I could have undone the nut with a digital torque wrench to know what NM to tighten it back on again. Do you have any idea what the NM torque is for a Panasonic. My life seems to revolve around maintenance and I'm sick of it. Glenn
Hi can any help. I have Hoover washing machine. it takes water and dose not fill half drum and drain straight out. after few minutes. it takes and fibric softner and detergent same time. what would you think it would be. please.
Try selecting the spin cycle. You may have either a pressure switch problem or a motor problem. By selecting the spin cycle the machine should drive the drum and pump and spin up to speed. if it does not check the motor brushes.
thanks for you quick reply. found lot of stuff in water pump. now trying to do a wash. c how it goes. it spins ok. I think it's one of those economy washer dose not use lot of water. it only fill quarter of drum. once again thanks.
Argos made ProActionA105QW washing machine. After program selection and start,it mostly tries working by giving a soft-sound and nuttin happens thereafter, and it displays a binking START light. Any help? eSpares
Jibbie odutoLa The sound is likely to come from the valve that the fill hose is connected to as it is powered to let the water in. If the water is not flowing check the supply hose and water pressure by taking the hose off and filling into a bucket. If there is not enough pressure (should be difficult to stop pushing a finger over the end) then the machine cannot fill.
Hi I have a Hoover DYN9144 DG washing machine and for the last few weeks the program has not been working it's always switching from different programs making the wash cycle go on for longer. Now the machine is not showing anything but there is power. Please help!
Hi Naomi, test the connections to the board and check for any signs of damage on the board, unfortunately, you cannot test the board so you need to eliminate everything else before you decide it's the board even though it does sound like that is the problem.
Hi, I have a Service washer WP1249F2W and it has stopped heating the water, everything else is fine. Its about 16 months old and used daily. We have done the regular cleaning and maintenance according to manufactures instructions. The manual says there is only four error codes and the heating circuit is not one of them. I visited your web site and typed in make & model it didn't recognise the machine. I will be testing the element & thermostat shortly. Any help will be much appreciated. Great videos by the way.........cheers
+mike travis Sorry I am late replying but UA-cam has just 'found' your comment. The problem is likely to be a failed element, to help us identify the part you require please fill in the details on the form found by using the 'Help Me Find The Part I Need' link at the bottom of the page on our website.
Hello I have a whirlpool awo/d 5556 I put on a wash this morning all was fine thought the cycle had finished but drum full of water, it had taken the powder but still fabric conditioner still in the draw. I go to switch machine back on and there is no power. I have changed the fuse and tryed other appliances in the socket which all work fine. Just the machine has no power what so ever, also the machine door is unlocked but still full of water.
+LISA PENKETH Sorry I am late replying but UA-cam has just 'found' your comment. It sounds like the control panel has failed but check the plug fuse before replacing.
indesit iwd 7145 washing machine checked power and fuses all fine suspect it may be a pcb problem quoted £200 plus £90per hr for an engineer to call and tell me what i can work out myself very unhappy about the quality and reliability of this product and indesit attitude. any advice?
Julian Rudd Hi Julian, the problem with Indesit and Hotpoint machines is the manufacturer has decided only to supply modules that need programming by specialist equipment. As a result it makes a module replacement a job for the specialists. If you are in the UK Repaircare can arrange a fixed price repair at a reasonable cost so it may be worth checking them.
Amana model NFW5700BWO. We were getting a clogged drain line code so we cleared it out and when we went to plug it back in it makes noise like it's trying to go through a cycle but the power isn't on and won't come on when we push the power button. The door is not locked and it still makes the noise with the door open.
Hi Cammi, you need to check if you have a leak detection float in the base of the machine if this activates it will continue to pump all the time even when off. Check for a leak before suspecting anything else.
Hi, I have a Kenmore elite washer model #40272900. After a period of inactivity the machine has no power. It requires the plug to be unplugged and plugged in a gain. That seems to "RESET" it. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks
BOSCH washing machine has power on display but when selecting any programme it doesnt accept it just beeps.no error code shown.is it a controller fault?
Hi Peter, try on an empty hot wash to see if there is any heat in the machine during the cycle. If the heater is failing we have known it cause the cycle not to stop showing one minute on the display.
Sounds like heater has failed for more information see our video: ua-cam.com/video/Ftm8lDVVw2E/v-deo.html Don't forget to find the full model number from the label around the door rim (WAE? xxxxx/GB05?) when ordering the part.
I have no lights, wont power on no clicking. mechanically it was fine. It completed a cycle. then when I went to unload it the door was locked, machine was not lit up like it normally has a clean light lit. i had to unscrew the bottom and manually unlock it, which I did to unload the machine, now I still have no power at all. Ive tried all the 'resets', plugging it in unplugging it. no click noise when I plug machine in. I don't know if I should replace the interface control board or the central control board, any help is appreciated.-
Hi, my Bosch Max Classic will not come on at all. I followed a reset instruction & it came up with E5 (water issue) so I followed instructions in manual on that but still nothing. When holding Start button & turning to 15 min cycle on dial it then came up with 8888. No display if I simply turn dial alone. Please advise. Many thanks
Hi Leanne, E5 does refer to water inlet so first test the water valve with a multimeter and check the water supply, next with the machine off test the circuit to the PCB and check for any loose connections and any signs of damage.
I bought a brand new LG top load washing machine wt1701cw for my wife, it worked great for 4 months and then it started giving us the IE error code. It will not rinse, or let the cold water in, it just starts spinning slowly. It's brand new, the inlet lines are not kinked, the filters are not dirty and the water pressure is good, it's worked great the whole 4 months we've had it until now. Got any ideas???
Hi Josh, IE is an input error. It can be caused by low water pressure or even if the supply tap is not turned on enough. Watch another video for more information: ua-cam.com/video/VS48G_cwCXo/v-deo.html
Hi I have top load fully automatic smsung washing machine .It stopped working the start /pause button . All the other functions are ok .What should i do
+D.N.D Liyanage You need to first work out how much of the machine is working. Start by watching another video: ua-cam.com/video/QYPqpjLV7s4/v-deo.html
Hi, my Hotpoint 9575 is rather old but I've kept it going with your spares. I came back from holiday last week and put my first load on only to return ten minutes later to the machine having filled, but just emitting a buzzing noise. From experience, I concluded it could be the brushes so I replaced them, albeit on removing the old ones, they did have a good cm left on each. Anyway, on starting the machine again, with no load, the drum filled and it began to spin. Success I thought. However, on loading the machine with clothes, the machine filled, but then did no more. Any ideas would be welcome please. It won't work in any programme but will drain. Thank you.
Many thanks. Re checked everything and other than clicking it in manually on the agitate mode, it then ran better than ever and the click is heard between each cycle. Fingers crossed. 😊
If the machine has water in it after a while but drains correctly check if the water is returning through a hose connected to the pipes under a sink. If this is the case raise the hose so water does not flow back when emptying the sink.
Hello folks. I have a hotpoint hv8b593g washer and it "works" on every setting but on 90% of settings it washes for hours. Never shuts off. On setting "6" (30 minutes), it runs for over an hour. This is the only setting that seems to shut off and complete a wash and spin cycle so it's what I've been using--cleans really well and spins great on this setting. The spin cycle also works on its own. I'm not sure what part needs to be replaced. Any suggestions on where to look? Timer, module, etc. All lights, push buttons respond to turning on and off. Thanks!
Hi zerosartre, best geuss for your fault with the limited information given is if the washing cannot 'Balance due to a mixture of weighted items, then the machine will keep trying to balance and extend the cycle time. We have another video that tries to explain this: ua-cam.com/video/uKBy-9NEF5A/v-deo.html Try on an empty cycle and if this runs ok try keeping 'heavier' items together in a separate load.
eSpares I'm wondering if it's a faulty heating element. The spin works just fine--doesn't seem to be any problems with the loads starting and stopping on the one setting (setting 6). I'm trying a load now on a 'no temperature' setting to see if that might solve the mystery. Do you supply Hotpoint washer heating elements?
Washing empty would prove if a balance issue. I understood that the cycle would eventually finish and if you had a faulty heater the machine would not finish the wash but have to be stopped and changed to the rinse and spin cycles. If you do have to move it on from wash then it would likely be the heater.
Hello, i have washer dryer AEG 3 years old, model L61271WDBI, is triping my fuse when i starting and i can not turn on the fuse until door lock is release.
Hi Liliana, the most common reason for a washing machine to trip the electrics is due to the element failing so start there, you will need a meter to test the element and this video shows testing the element ua-cam.com/video/Ftm8lDVVw2E/v-deo.html&t
I have a zanussi ZWF1237W which stopped a wash at the rinse stage and showed an E20 fault. As per instruction manual i cleaned the pump and removed a piece of material. Each attempts at a wash still stops at the rinse stage. I can fiddle around with the knobs and get it to do just a rinse. Please can someone tell me how to do a reset to clear the E20 and get the machine to do a complete wash, rinse, spin cycle as before. (I have tried leaving the machine switched off at the mains for 24 hrs.)Grateful for any suggestion. RB
Hi R Burhouse, To error code is stored in the memory and can be removed if you enter diagnostics to clear it but you don't normally have to if you are still getting E20 then you still have an issue with the draining cycle. Check the drain pump impellor and test the pump with a multimeter first, check for any blockages inside the hoses that may be stopping it from draining.
Josh, its a Maytag, Epic z. it did this once about a year ago. My sons clothes were stuck inside at the end of a completed cycle- we manually unlocked it. and tried all the reset gimmicks and tricks. nothing. so I left if and started using my moms small washer in the basement, about 8 or 9 months later, I came up to it and just pushed the power button and it came on! and kept working, once in a while, at the end of a cycle when I went to unload I noticed that the machine was not in its clean/unlock mode. so to get around that problem I would just push a spin/rinse button let that run for about 15 seconds, push the cancel button and the washer would do the cancel and the door would unlock- so thats how I got around that problem for a temporary fix. but like I said, now I have no power on. I think I tested the cord for continuity. I don't really know how, I used the multimeter on 200 OHMs and touched black and red to tips. I don't know? someone mentioned the noise filter, I took that out and that seems to have continuity as well. Thanks so much for any help.
Hi, If you had a problem with the mains filter the machine would either blow fuses or be totally dead with no lights. I think there might be a clue with the door lock releasing when stuck by starting and stopping the cycle. Sounds like the lock packing up so we would suggest starting by replacing this.
Hi, my 5kg direct drive LG front load fully automatic when spinning suddenly it goes off and sometimes in the middle of spin. And the next day i used it again all were good but after couple of days the same problem occured. Thank you in advance
Most LG machine show an error when a problem occurs, if the display also goes off and resets check the power connection to the machine. The problem may be due to a faulty motor sensor so suspect this if no other problem is found.
Hi, Le, if the drain pump is not working you will need to test the drain pump, how have you determined there is no power to the pump? it is not a good idea to live test. Please see our advice centre that will help with testing the pump www.espares.co.uk/advice/symptom/washing-machine-not-draining-water just copy and paste into your browser.
I have a bosch front loading washer that's doesn't have code board. It stops the end of the wash cycle and won't spin, door stays locked and won't unlock even when start button pushed to pause. When I eventually get it to unlock, which it will only do after changing the setting multiple times, and set it on spin, it drains and spins. When I however set it to start another load, it does the same thing. I've tried smaller loads and sometimes they go thru the full cycle, but mostly get stuck with the door locked and no way to open it. It won't reset with the door locked and door won't unlock. Any suggestions?
+Debby harkness Make sure when trying to reset you turn the control to off and wait a moment as turning the control to another programme or off at the wall may not reset. Once reset try empty on a few short cycle to check the machine. If it does not complete a wash and move on to rinse check the heater. If it has a problem going to spin see another video: ua-cam.com/video/uKBy-9NEF5A/v-deo.html
No it finished a wash, then we put some tea towels in to rinse&spin and it would not complete the cycle we could remove any water with the pump but when we put it on spin .....nothing!! And now when I try to pump water out there's a clicking behind the front panel when I try to pump excess water out, it's puzzling
+Richard Dyer When you start a cycle the door lock will click to lock it and then the pump should start if on the drain cycle. Check there is nothing stopping the pump and if this is OK check the motor brushes (if fitted) and the heater.
Hi, I have Sharp Washing M. It's loading water, but don't start engine, automatically pump out water and stops. Just displays "end" on the panel. didn't give any error code.
Hello there, My Indesit IWE 91480 trips all of the fuses in the house as soon as it is turned on, is this the suppressor and can I change this easily, or does it sound like a more complex issue? thank you :-)
Hi Tori, The mains suppressor may be faulty but if you remove the plug from it disconnecting the rest of the machine if faulty it would still trip when the power is switched on. If the filter is OK then suspect the heating element and check this as it is the most likely cause of the problem.
Hi thank you, I have never looked at anything like this before, do you have a video, do I just disconnect suppressor from the mains supply? and then plug the mains back in to the socket, if that does not trip the rest of the house then it is the suppressor? and then get a new one? if it still trips then it is likely to be the heating element?? I just thought that I would give it a go as it is already broken so if I can't fix it then I will either call someone in or get a new one? again, thank you for your help :-)
The mains cable enters the machine at the filter: www.espares.co.uk/product/es1130816 There is a connector from this that can be removed when the power is disconnected to prove a faulty filter when reconnected. If it trips when the rest of the machine is disconnected it must be a faulty filter.
I have a Bosch Maxx 6 that completes the wash cycle but the water is ice cold. It does not get warm at all regardless of program. The machine does not stop and no error codes or lights indicating problems. Can it be the termostat?
Just because you have not felt heat does not mean the machine is not heating. Run empty on the hottest cycle to confirm if the heater is working. If you had a heating problem the machine would normally just continue to wash for ever waiting for the water to heat up. For further information see another diagnosis video: ua-cam.com/video/Ftm8lDVVw2E/v-deo.html
+Jacqui Harnett Sorry I am late replying but UA-cam has just 'found' your comment. Glad to hear you found the problem. :-)
nice and informative video for diagnososing the washing machine.. thank you for your video!
Hi, thanks for your comment. Nice to know you appreciate our video! Hopefully it helps you if you do have any of these washing machine issues.
Thanks.
Brett Champlayne Start by checking the brushes if the above video has not helped identify your problem.
If no heat see these other videos:
ua-cam.com/video/Ftm8lDVVw2E/v-deo.html and
ua-cam.com/video/PMYM_j8Uoyk/v-deo.html
Hi thanks for that. What's a PCB?
sue burge Have a look at the following video, although for a Hoover machine the repair method is very similar.
Hi Mark, check out this video that goes through Whirlpool error codes ua-cam.com/video/5eKNcFbcaF0/v-deo.html
The presenter speaks very clear English.
+alex Lo Thanks, we try to make our videos as clear as possible.
w/machine keeps flashing 8 . hoover model H3W 68TME-80. I was told it might be the motor, is there a way of testing the motor.
If you click bit.ly/2lzjcsu & fill the online form, we can verify availability with our suppliers & update you directly
+barbara townsend The first places to start are to check it can pump out by selecting 'Drain' if this is OK check the heater.
Thanks for your advice so far.

what is a ae code
What Make and model machine are we talking about?.
And if its tripping electrics but only a washer ? Replaced suppressor but still same thing thanks if you can suggest anything
Hi Kevin the most likelist componet to trip the electrics is the heater.
Sorry Gerrard, Unless there is signs of spillage or damage to the wiring loom it is likely to be the control board that is faulty. :-(
Damn i thought so... Thanks anyway you're a good man!
Gerard De Waal :-)
After changing inlet valves i started to get f10 foult on aeg in begining of rinse. Is it somehow connected?
Hi I have a Hotpoint Ultima washing machine thats about four years old and the machine has recently started to smell on further investigation it seems the water is not heating up it just washes cold
no matter what the temp setting is but the machine shows no error codes and washes without pausing through its cycle although it does seem to wash a alot quicker than the time on screen suggests I imagine because the water is not heating up is this possible without error codes ?
Hi Bonnie, try on an empty rinse and spin cycle to see if it will work?.
It works fine on a rinse and spin cycle even with clothes inside, only the Quick and Intensive cycles (the two cycles I use most often) won't work. The washer was overfilled with water right before playing up like this, I fixed the problem by reconnecting and untangling the hose.
Check the water heater element as if this fails the machine may stop and give an error code then may empty and rinse.
I have a Siemens i890 (approx 5 yers old) that is not turning on. When it does the screen is blank but the machine is operating fine. Is this one of the power Boards?
Hi Stu. it is likely to be the display board, check for any signs of burnt contacts or damage.
Our video: ua-cam.com/video/aud14I0Zu9M/v-deo.html
explains that F11 is a drain problem so watch this video to identify what is going wrong: ua-cam.com/video/frEJhX9Sppw/v-deo.html
Yea I did that and had a person come look they sed it was the bourd
HI, is there a video about how to replace the circuit board on a Zanussi washing machine?
Hi Lumi, we don't have a video at the moment but where is yours on the machine and we can help.
What about Frigidaire Affinity front loading washer NOT draining fully? Pls show video procedure for repair
Hi Olusola, check the filter and make sure nothing is blocking the pump, and check the drain hose as well.
Hi Althea, You have not given any model information so I can not give specifics but that sounds like a timer problem.
Thanks Josh it is an Amana top loader I purchased just 2 1/2 mos ago.
Thank you very much.
My washer will agitate with no load in it but will not agitate with a load. Any help?
hi, need help...I have a Samsung washer front load.
Check the hose for damage and for more information see another video:
ua-cam.com/video/VS48G_cwCXo/v-deo.html
See our videos : ua-cam.com/video/D5Aw7CBEGPI/v-deo.html and
ua-cam.com/video/MNInJd7js5A/v-deo.html
eSpares Ah ok, thanks for the links. So would worn brushes stop the cycle from starting & filling?
Dave McCarthy Yes.
I recently replace a door switch on a frigidaire front load and I fix the problem. on the other hand I started the washer cycle and everything went well until an alarm sounded and would'nt stop but, the washer contiue to work properly. How do I stop the alarm sound or buzzzer sound.
The alarm sound would normally indicate a problem that has been picked up by the control board, try unplugging to see if it resets.
hi, so the hose I mentioned in my last message was actually the pressure switch tube. Water pressure seems normal. Thanks for the video.
What else could it be?
Try taking off the hose from the switch and blowing into the tub. If it is blocked the machine will keep filling. For more information see another video:

Hi Olaiwola, you need to determine if the button has failed or possible the board, gain access to the control panel to check.
If your machine is sometimes refusing to spin after a wash watch another one of our videos that may explain the problem:
ua-cam.com/video/uKBy-9NEF5A/v-deo.html
I have a Beko WMB 71442W. When I turn the dial to select the program I want the display flashes and it jumps between a number of different wash programs. It takes several minutes to be able to select the program I want as just as I select the spin speed and temperature I want it jumps back to a different program before I get a chance to start the wash. Very annoying, any idea what this could be?.
The problem is likely to be the selector switch: www.espares.co.uk/product/es1545970/
Hello Josh, I have an older front load Kenmore (2002). it isn't digital, it fills, washes, but then will not drain and remains on. does this on any wash cycle. do you have a video to direct me, or please tell me what to check?
Sounds like a drain problem so watch the following video:
ua-cam.com/video/frEJhX9Sppw/v-deo.html
Must be the wrong video as there is no mention of drainage problems, thanks for quick reply.
The video I linked to is called 'How to Diagnose Washing Machine Drain and Pump Problems ' as you have a pump or drain problem.
yes, thank you, it is very informative.
😊
If the machine does not finish filling or shuts off immediately filled watch this video:
ua-cam.com/video/VS48G_cwCXo/v-deo.html

What about the dispenser drawer? There was water still coming through it?
Just trying to cover my bases!
For more information see some of our Diagnosis videos in the following section:

Hi I have a hotpoint wdl 520 keeps switching of through all programs not displaying anything just switches off had a guy look at it and he said it was in good order but still got the problem he said would take it away and sell me another one it works sometimes should i replace the board or the washer any help please
Hi, the PCB cannot be replaced by anyone other than a Hotpoint engineer or their agents as it needs programming to work at all. If you follow this video and everything else seems OK the choice is to have an engineer replace the board or replace the machine.
PLEASE could you please supply or do you have a fault code list for a Zanussi fle1216w?
Hi john, what fault code have you got?
I have a problem with my affinity front load washer .. I have cleaned the drain pump it is clean , door lock is locked when on but it will not do the final spin it also has a little bit of water left in the drum. I'm thinking it's the control board , but I want to be sure. I checked the motor and the belt in the back all is good..
Before suspecting a control problem check the drain circuit and watch another video:
ua-cam.com/video/frEJhX9Sppw/v-deo.html
Please help me whith any solution
Thanks in advance

Thank you for your clues, I will check the control panel.
@@eSpares sir wash is okay, rinse is okay only for last of spining and drying last of 5min it will take 3-5 hours before its end.
:-)
Hi, yes it was the element and I managed to get one and changed it. Thanks anyway.

Thanks
+Gecko Ent You may have a faulty control panel as capacitors can age causing it not to reset until powered off for some time.
BOSCH washing machine has power on display but when selecting any programme it doesnt accept it just beeps.no error code shown.is it a controller fault?
H Espares my bosch classix 1200 stuck on wash cycle at 1 minute. When i open door the water is cold.Any advice ?
Hi Peter, try on an empty hot wash to see if there is any heat in the machine during the cycle. If the heater is failing we have known it cause the cycle not to stop showing one minute on the display.
tried a 90 degree wash. stopped at 30 minutes and opened door and water was cold.
Sounds like heater has failed for more information see our video:

Don't forget to find the full model number from the label around the door rim (WAE? xxxxx/GB05?) when ordering the part.

Thank you.
Hi Nick, check the drive belt and ensure it is tight on the pulley. Test the motor and this video will help ua-cam.com/video/D5Aw7CBEGPI/v-deo.html
Many thanks. Re checked everything and other than clicking it in manually on the agitate mode, it then ran better than ever and the click is heard between each cycle. Fingers crossed. 😊
My philco washingg machine is heating up water to a point were it shuts down, when programed on cold water cycles, can you please help ?
Hi Ray, sounds like a stuck heater relay if you have an electronic module or stuck heater contacts on a mechanical timer.
eSpares Thanks eSpares for the information, I will have a look at it.
Could you tell why my washing always container water or drainage it works fine it just after washing after 8 I find in the cycle please help ?
We have another video that tries to explain this:
ua-cam.com/video/uKBy-9NEF5A/v-deo.html
Try on an empty cycle and if this runs ok try keeping 'heavier' items together in a separate load.
eSpares I'm wondering if it's a faulty heating element.
The problem may be due to a faulty motor sensor so suspect this if no other problem is found.
my washing machine don't run final circle because there is no power to pump. how to fix this problem. Thank you so much!
Thank you! I tested the pump when I used the power directly. The pump still worked normally. Plz send me other suggestion. Thanks! :)

My Logik washing machine door wasn't locking. I replaced the interlock but this has made no difference. Is it a problem with the PCP board?
Hi MR TNT, if the door is closing correctly and the door lock has been replaced it would suggest that the PCB is likely.
@@eSpares thanks, thats what I thought
Check the motor circuit as this may be stopping the cycle.

Thank you so much for your help :-) xx
Good Luck. 😊
Hi Kjell, the most likely is the heating element so test that before suspecting anything else.
