- I switched the gauge cluster lights to LED on the Chevy truck. The Chevy Silverado, Chyenne, Blazer and GMC Sierra from 1988 to 1994 are the same setup.

Man I was thinking I’d be snapping a bunch of expensive plastic, so glad I found your video. It was so ironic I was doing this at night with a flashlight the exact same way. Thanks for the quick & easy to follow tutorial, 4 years later 😂
Glad I could help! Thank you for commenting. I really need to check comments specifically because I don't get notified for some reason.
Great and informative!
I have a '93 Silverado K1500 for parts. It came with a tach in the cluster, so swapping out the bulbs is going to be part of that first mod.
A lot easier than I thought to take the dash apart! Very informative and thanks for the tip on how to properly insert a metal screw into plastic! Good work! 👍
Thank you for checking out my video and taking the time to comment.
Geez, what an improvement.
I fully agree! Thank you Chuck, for taking the time to view and comment on the video.
Very useful video. I've wanted to convert my 94 GMC k1500 to dashboard LEDs for some time. 1994 was the last year for the dashboard design in your video. Airbags were required beginning in 1995, so GM redesigned the dashboard to accommodate them, and also to refresh the interior appearance.
Thank you for tuning in! I do like this style but also like the newer ones as well. TBH, I think I love all Chevy trucks lol.
what leds did you end up using and how many? I've got a 93 k1500 and want to do a conversion
thanks ,,,,,,,,, very good information ill do the same my 92 chevy.....
You're welcome and thank you for checking out my video. It made a huge difference in nighttime viewing.
My instrument cluster works but won’t light up at all and I have replaced these also
Hey NCT,
If you ever get a chance to snag an instrument cluster out of a Silverado, it is literally a direct swap! I had the exact same one you have. I swapped it out and now I have a working tach as well!
Sorry, don't know why I was never notified of your comment funvic. Thank you so much, I am definitely going to keep an eye out for that cluster, I need that tach.
What year Silverado? I'm trying to update my 91 chevy W/T to a better dash. Thanks for the info
I have a question if you pull one of the bulbs out because you don't need it but you can't figure out why it's on will the gauge cluster still work I have a check engine and a brake light that is coming on but nothing is wrong with the truck can I remove those two bowls and leave them out and the gauge still work
Thanks for tuning in! Yes, you can remove a bulb and cluster will still work. If you have emissions check in your area, it won't pass without a working check engine light.
Thank you sir...
Most welcome
Have the bulbs held up, or have you had to replace any since the install?
Did you only replace 5 bulbs?
I only replaced the 5 bulbs and have not had to replace any. I also used the same bulbs on my Crown Vic and none have burned out.
@@NorthCoastT thank you very much.
@@FullAutoApolotics you're welcome and thank you for tuning in.
What size are the.smaller bulbs. The ones for like check engine, brake ect?

What bulbs are they? Cause I see T5 2121 T10 something like that I’m confused I just want to know which ones are they
Thanks for checking out my video. The bulb is a 194 and I got mine from amazon. You will have to buy the twist lock holders separately of find a kit that includes them. This is the bulb I used: AMAZENAR 30-Pack White Replacement Stock #: 194 T10 168

Are they t5 or t10 I have a 91 Silverado same cluster as yours
?????
@@NorthCoastT Thank you so much sir I’ve been wanting to do this for a long time ! 🙏 😊

What bulbs and their sockets or w.e did you use? Just got a 92 chev and this is a must

Can you still dim the dash?
Thanks for tuning in! Yes, these bulbs are dimmable.
How do you change the color ordering color bulbs?
Sorry, just saw this message. Thanks for commenting. I did look up and purchase different color bulbs for other cars. On this truck, it would only change the edge colors because the backing inside is green.
What’s the difference in the bulbs for the blinkers and engine light. Want to swap all lights to led. Not just the dash elimination ones.
Thanks for tuning in. The smaller bulbs are a T5 twist lock and the sockets are pretty cheap on Amazon or you can buy them together with bulbs. www.amazon.com/WLJH-T5-PC74-Instrument-Replacement/dp/B07HMH13YJ/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?crid=2KSFF7BOUPKID&keywords=t5%2Bled%2Bbulb&qid=1666629176&qu=eyJxc2MiOiI1LjExIiwicXNhIjoiNC42MyIsInFzcCI6IjQuNDQifQ%3D%3D&s=automotive&sprefix=t5%2Bled%2Cautomotive%2C67&sr=1-2-spons&smid=A1LOP85VTHUG5A&th=1
@@NorthCoastT thanks for the reply!
@@dylanrambow734 no problem and thank you for checking out my video.
@@NorthCoastT just had a extra thought. do i need colored led for like the check engine light or do i just get white?
as in the dash has the color tinted in it
@@dylanrambow734 all you need is white, the dash has colored tint for each section.
I’d know that beeping anywhere. Sony head unit, mine does same thing it’s a 94.
Thanks for tuning in! I did install that old Sony that I had sitting in the garage, I figured nobody would bust the window to steal it. I wedged a dime in the slot for a volume knob lol.
Where you order clips for bulbs size of them?
I bought all mine on Amazon.

Thank you for checking out my video and taking the time to comment. I heard that GM made a lot of the trucks very similar. I will try to check yours out if you have any videos.
@@NorthCoastT I don't have any videos about trucks. So, the Silverado, Cheyenne, and Scottdale are all similar. Mainly it's the trim and options... power windows, locks... other stuff. I totally could put in power locks and windows... just need servos and wires...lol
@@ChrisCrowley74 darn, I was looking forward to seeing yours. I should look into that more and add a few things to mine. I only have cruise and A/C and A/C isn't working right now lol.
@@NorthCoastT I have cruise but it doesn't work. I had to change the A/C system nipples... lol
Then had it charged... BOOM! A/C baby! Then there was a really hot day! Like 100°+.. no A/C... too hot for the system....
I DO have a steady on SES light. Either for the bad fuel pump or broken ground strap for the tank... I have no clue.
@@ChrisCrowley74 I have not tried to charge mine since I got it. Mostly use it as a haul/tow rig. Right now I think the fuel pump is going on mine as well. When I let it idle for extended periods, SES light comes on plus just started stalling randomly with no restart until next day. Thought it was fuel filter but replaced it with the same result lol. So much for the easy fix. If your ground strap broke, wouldn't it show full all the time?
