hifiman xs definitely bigger soundstage because open back and even taller drivers. maxwell will have more subbass and the midrange will be a little more forward and present. I tried out the Sennheiser HD599 and they sounded great and after that I was obssessed but the footsteps on val didnt really sound great and more often than not I just kept getting lost. Should I just get the Maxwell over the HD58X? GREAT VID BTW. by far the best review video ive seen.
@@ryanhostudio I just got the headset! It is by far the best sounding one I have ever gotten. I barely had to tweak it with the EQ. The bass was a bit loud for me but after using dolby atmos with it, it just became the perfect headset. Thank you for the recommendation man! I am so happy with the new headset!!
I don't think you are supposed to plug the Maxwell or Penrose (Orbit) into a DAC/ Amp because they already have them built in. I heard it could damage them.
it’s only if turn them too loud on amplifier. what i do is turn the headset amplifier to max before i even turn the amplifier dial, that way it prevents me from overloading it if you plug maxwell 3.5mm into a pc, switch, phone, controller those are all dac amps….i think they are just worried about the crazy audiophiles who turn the knob to max volume on high gain and break it which is fair point
Hey not to knock your review but I’m 99% positive plugging in the Maxwell to a dac does nothing because there is a dac in the headphone. You can test this if they still need to be powered on and the eq still works while plugged into the wired dac. Maybe worth looking into a little more just to be sure your review is as accurate as possible. Great review and sweet collection!!
hi it does have a dac inside which it uses during wired usb, bluetooth, and usb dongle mode. however wired 3.5mm it is using its built in amplifier and the conversion is done from the dac it’s plugged into.
headset = has mic attached to the unit. Headphone = no mic attached to the unit from the factory. Sennheiser is more audiophile than Hifiman.. just sayin. Also. DO NOT PLUG wireless Audeze gaming headsets into a DAC/AMP. They have their own dual amp setups in the earcups and plugging them into something that is also applying power to the unit is going to lead to some major issues over time.
good video only thing that could just be me is that you sound extremely bored and your voice is very gravely and it makes it almost impossible for me to watch but again might just be me XD
You kind of got a point. Anything wired vs wireless have some difference, but thoughts differences are so small it basicly is kind of "Pointless" But! you do want it in the "best form" in comparisons.
it does however the biggest issue i found is the built in amplifier is a lot more noisy in the cloud orbit s so when you plugged it in 3.5mm alot of the time the noise floor was distracting. maxwell depending on volume level it’s either dead silent or a small hiss

Is Maxwell my go to headphone? I mean compared to some top gaming wireless headphones out there such as the ones from turtle beach, razer, logitech, arctis, etc.
yep maxwell is best sound quality with low latency dongle
Thank you for a great comparison. How does the Maxwell sound quality compare to the Cloud Orbit S (Mobius)?
if you check the main maxwell review i did a comparison to the cloud orbit s but long story short its a slight improvement in sound quality
@@ryanhostudio I just watched that review but it doesn't go into any details. Can you share a bit on how big of an improvement on sound and in what aspects?
@@divertiti the noise floor is much lower so you dont hear the hiss, theres better subbass presence and definition and the highs do sound cleaner
@@ryanhostudio awesome, thank you Ryan
audeze vs pc38x?
i only have the epos h6 pros which uses the same drivers as pc38x, but basically it comes down to epos h6 pros having the best imaging ive tried in any gaming headphone and bigger soundstage while audeze has better tuning and detail
Im kinda torn between the Sennheiser HD58x and the Audeze Maxwell for gaming. Im not sure which one I should get. I am trying to upgrade from my Corsair Virtuoso SE and after watching a bunch of reviews. Im kinda leaning more towards the Maxwell. What would you go for? Also, I grind val and league alot and I want to be able to hear everything without audio getting muddled and mixed. I really want to get into the whole audiophile market. I tried out the Sennheiser HD599 and they sounded great and after that I was obssessed but the footsteps on val didnt really sound great and more often than not I just kept getting lost. Should I just get the Maxwell over the HD58X? GREAT VID BTW. by far the best review video ive seen.
i for sure would get maxwell over hd58x maxwell is a lot better
@@ryanhostudio thank you bro!!! ill just get those then. super sick vid btw and thanks for the quick reply!!
no problem!! enjoy!!
I heard it could damage them.
it’s only if turn them too loud on amplifier. what i do is turn the headset amplifier to max before i even turn the amplifier dial, that way it prevents me from overloading it
if you plug maxwell 3.5mm into a pc, switch, phone, controller those are all dac amps….i think they are just worried about the crazy audiophiles who turn the knob to max volume on high gain and break it which is fair point
@@ryanhostudio Good to know. Do you know if the mic works as well ehile plugged into a dac?
@@Slyclientthetechdad it wont for the dac im using because its purely only for audio. Only if its plugged into a combo jack for audio and mic
headset = has mic attached to the unit.
Why he change his voice while talking... he starts speaking normal then seems to have ball hair in his mouth
This video is nonsense because you compare apples with pears.
good video only thing that could just be me is that you sound extremely bored and your voice is very gravely and it makes it almost impossible for me to watch but again might just be me XD
I felt sleepy listening to you
my friend uses my voice to sleep so not surprised
comparing open backs to closed backs🤦♂
crazy concept
@@ryanhostudio True that lol
Wired vs wireless 😂😂😂😂😂 no point.
You kind of got a point. Anything wired vs wireless have some difference, but thoughts differences are so small it basicly is kind of "Pointless" But! you do want it in the "best form" in comparisons.
Does the cloud orbit s sound better with the DAC as well?
it does however the biggest issue i found is the built in amplifier is a lot more noisy in the cloud orbit s so when you plugged it in 3.5mm alot of the time the noise floor was distracting.
maxwell depending on volume level it’s either dead silent or a small hiss
Before 2 reviews was on the product page. 1 review 5 star, and 1 review 3 star. They removed the 3 star from there website. Only for this reason alone not gona buy 1. They are crooks.
