      Rare writting somethng on UA-cam, but now really want to know, would be greatfull for answering. Already take ASUS ROG Azoth (thx to you to btw :) ), and thinking about next buying - new headset, my Penrose didnt feels good anymore.
      So what I wanna asking about. What matterial on earcup swivel? Penrose plastic breaks pretty easily by itself, Audize even try to fix it in later revisions by additional stiffening ribs (unsuccessfully by my own expiriense). And wireless range on Penrose was terrible to, as on 2,4 Gh, as on bluetooth, was it fixed in Maxwell?

    • @badseedtech
      @badseedtech  Рік тому +4

      @@OUTS1DER666 the swivels are aluminum now and they look like they have a brass bushing in there as well. They feel very high quality and I can’t imagine them being an issue long term. The wireless performance, incl bluetooth, is far superior to Penrose. I haven’t had a single disconnect or dropout in over a month of use.

      How have they been? I'm seriously wanting a quality wireless headset. I've tried 3 or 4 different wireless and 2 or 3 wired headsets and returned them all because they just didn't get quite loud enough or beat the sound in my $40 wired Hyper X headsets. However I never spent $300+ for the top tier lines and have always heards its a waste to buy the Nove Pros for consoles since you can't utilize Sonar. So I stumble across these after learning about Sony's acquisition of Audeze. I think these would suit me better as they are just over-all finer tuned. I only game on ps5 and sometimes on my ps4 pro. But that base station on the Nova Pros seems to still be an advantage over everybody.

    A little late comment, but I have to echo the majority opinion - these things exceed the hype - it's real. Musical sound quality, Gaming sound quality, voice sound quality, General sound quality, convenience. All of it.
    The microphone tends to compliment my voice timbre and others have noted how good my mic audio was - it tends to be a tiny bit on the warmer side, but certainly not muddy or muffled. Sure, it isn't 'the best' mic quality, but aside from a dedicated 'podcast' or 'broadcast' mic setup - it's perfectly solid. Plosives and sibilance are alleviated with mic placement - just position the mic boom a little off tot he side and you're golden. I don't really use the noise suppression since I'm usually in a mostly quiet environment.
    The sentiment in the video of these being "one of the very best tuned closed back headphones on the market available today" is spot on. My 'other headphones' are the Hifiman Ananda Stealth and a Burson Playmate 2 DAC/Amp - and these Maxwells are close enough in sound quality that most of the time, I just don't care and it just doesn't matter which 'phone I'm listening to. Yes, the Hifiman/Burson combo is 'better' and you can tell a difference (which becomes un-noticable after 10 minutes because of accommodation), but man - if you want something with a built in mic, these Maxwells are the ticket. I just wish they would get their PC app fully functional and sorted.
    "Way too good for the price" perfectly sums up these 'phones - actually even 'way too good for double the price' is probably more accurate.

    18:38 Wouldn't it be better to run it in 24/44.1 KHz? To avoid upsampling? Most stuff runs at 44.1 KHz, some at 48, but downsampling doesn't hurt quality at all. I would only put it at 96 KHz if I had songs that were in that format. Otherwise, it doesn't do anything and can even hurt performance ever so slightly.

Back when I actually played a couple of games in competitions and such though, I absolutely did not want sound stage at all. The narrower, the better spesifically because you already know every single map so damn well that you just know where they are regardless. All I wanted from the headset is to force feed into my ear that someone is actually there.
    Im very tempted to get these after hearing this praise, it sounds like everything im after in a gaming headset tbh. Theres only a couple of things I still wonder about though:
    1 - Can they charge while being used over USB-C, and do they have charge protection?
    B - Is this user servicable? Can you actually access / replace batteries, pads or other consumable parts?
    3 - Is this compatible with any other 3.5mm boom mics or is there some arbitrary limitation that only the one they provide works?
    IV - If I get this, will the rest of my headset collection not receive any love anymore? :(

    Hey, I've been watching your reviews for just a little while now, but these are some really great reviews! I'm pretty smitten with these headphones, but I'm worried about the weight. I wear glasses and the heavier the headphones, the more my glasses tend to push into my upper nose. The pressure there after a while might cause headaches and just general discomfort. If anyone might know, do these headphones do well with glasses? The review was great though, thanks a ton!

    Question. Lets say you downloaded the app on the PC and set all your EQ settings how you want it. If you were to take your headset to listen to music on your phone on a flight, will you keep those same EQ settings or do you have to download the app on your phone and redo all the settings again?

    I currently have the Corsair HS80. I also have several audiophile (mid to low end) headphones. The fidelity of the HS80 is "good enough" in my opinion. The biggest pain point for me is the sidetone. You can barely hear yourself when talking. I had originally purchased it because I play Virtual Table Top RPG's online with my friends. So, there is a huge communication aspect involved. My hopes was to combine the fidelity of the audiophile headphones with the mic of the HS80 but with better sidetone. How is the sidetone on this? Is the Maxwell worth the upgrade?

    I currently have A40s with mixamp. These seem like an upgrade and worth getting, but figuring in the price vs something else I've considered, the HD800s (with a caveat-- having to get DAC/AMP combo since I only have a focusrite 4i4 for my AT2020 and HD800s is 300ohms which I would not get the most out of it-- looking at really cheap options like atom+DAC combo, ~$200, or micro idsd black label ~$750) would it be worth the extra mile to go with the HD800s? How much "diminishing returns" would you say between the two(or three) in this situation. I feel these maxwell give me way more bang for buck, and albeit hd800 may still be an improvement (idk how much) for it to be worth coughing up THAT much more. Gaming is the somewhat priority, especially as its to replace the a40, but I've been yearning for some better music headphones. Bose ones I have getting old and im antsy to spend haha, which is the dilemma because at the same time I feel the A40s should be enough and i may not need an upgrade. Just need to see if spending any money at all is really justified to replace these 3 year headphones i've enjoyed. Hd800s I looked at if we are being honest because its generally known as one of the best and i just want to be blown away. Suggestions? TO spend or not to spend, that is the real question...

    • @Kaiser333333
      @Kaiser333333 Рік тому

      There is really no comparing the hd800 with the Maxwell, 1) wired is always better 2) open back is always better. The HD800s are true end game headphones in terms of soundstage and clarity. As long as you take care of the HD800s (don’t let dogs or kids play with them) they will last you your entire life. They also weigh less and are far more comfortable to wear than the Maxwells.
      That said i am considering the maxwells too but solely because I want a good wireless headset that connects to the Xbox series s|x. Because of Microsoft’s stupid proprietary tech there are like 5 headsets in total on the market and the Maxwell is clearly the best wireless Xbox compatible headset on the market.
      The HD800s are FAR better than the Maxwells though. But they are wired and need a dac/amp like you mentioned.

    • @Kaiser333333
      @Kaiser333333 Рік тому

      Also wanted to add, the HD600/HD650s are also amazing headphones and much cheaper than the HD800s and pair very well with amps. If you really want clarity, soundstage, and instrument separation the HD800 are really hard to beat.
      The HD650s sound incredible with tube amps playing music though. I can’t really describe it but they sound vibrant and soothing at the same time.
      the HD800s are so clear in their separation that it makes poorly mastered albums sound like trash. Kind of eye opening when you listen to a record you like in your car only to discover they sound worse on the HD800s due to how surgically they reveal flaws in the recording/mastering.

But man, this and your review between these, the stealth pro, and arctis nova pro wireless, has left me with a really tough decision to make.. coming from elite pro 2 with superamp, the simultaneous broadcast is a hard thing to let go of for the sim racing + music side of things. But the better sound quality overall I think makes these the better option. That battery life too!
