  • Come along as we try to get this old Caterpillar diesel generator started up.
I pulled it out of a house that was being torn down, and its been sitting there for at least 10 years.
The generator is powered by a Cat D330C 4 cylinder diesel and has a standby output of 90KW.

Loved your way of using adjectives and analogies. The casual delivery is king.

Good Video, in Trade School We Rebuilt a Military Gen Donated to the School , You could add some Sea Foam to Clean behind the Rings in a Car 11/2 oz per quart of Oil 500 Miles before Oil Change

It is a D330C engine. It was made between 1968 to 1972. After 1972 the 3304 engine replaced it.

Hey Thx for the vid on this Cat. I have a D330 generator that hasn't run in over 10 years. I wanna get it running before I put it up for sale. Not sure what it's worth but probably better then scrape metal if it'll bark off.

Yeah good luck! They are pretty reliable it seems and I think it would be worth way more than scrap if you had it running.

Love viewing your webcam of the cats. Have you seen the commercial where Donald Trump is talking about people eating cats? We think it's cruel to rescues like yours.

I've thought about that option Russ. The generator is only a 4 cylinder though...

    Wth is that statement
" hear it dripping? " even on a 55 in tv with stereo you cant hear it nor even see it. And you don't know what a heat exchanger is ??????? From a School i image its a backup genny and NO WAY A GARDEN HOSE WILL DO ANYTHING

@@DMIDoes Props for not being rude. A garden hose WILL keep it cool, assuming you have the typical 10gpm flow at the hose, you have at least 8,300 BTU/minute worth of cooling, which in theory could cool an engine burning 11 gallons of fuel per minute. Your engine probably burns like half a gallon an hour unloaded, so you're super good.
Congrats on getting it going, keep us posted!
