Let's be honest. IT IS SCRAP. Pull a few parts for EBay maybe, see if there's a buyer for the motor, but as a unit? Let's talk about the principle of "Point of diminishing return". A cost analysis would sink any common sensed, logical mind in about 15 minutes of statistical parts cost analysis.
$1000 might be scrap price, but the guy cutting it up as well as acetylene/oxygen isn't free either.... Basically a huge restauration project or big pile of scrap.
There is probably nothing wrong with the batteries that didn't charge. Only two batteries were connected between the charger leads, so that's all that could have been charged unless the first two were cabled parallel to the second two. Since they were in series, the charge circuit only extended to the connected batteries. You would have needed to charge the second pair separate from the first pair to get all four charged.
I'm not a big fan of intros. What attracted me to your videos was your immediate lets get into this. A prime example was the old red Ford P/U video you did. I was immediately captivated by the content and presentation. This is usually the same on all the channels I subscribe to including Camaratas and Diesel Creek who has a very small intro. If you want to add one I would make it a brief one. But hey its your channel you do what makes you happy brother....................
@@2flocks actually the creator of the video ask for the viewers opinion at the end of the video if you watched the whole thing you might would know that 😆 so get a life troll and grow up
Dude. You helped me pick one of these up today. Guys tried to start it before me and failed. I watched this video and had her running in a couple hours for the cost of batteries. Bringing her home tomorrow. Thank you!!!!!
Money does make the world go round but another substance is just as important if not more important than money, diesel. Without diesel our world would grind to a halt, trucks, tractors, farm machinery, cranes, trains, ships and much much more ALL run on this miracle liquid. I just discovered your videos and I love em, dads a mechanic so fixing broken stuff is near and dear to my heart.
Love it, love your style, enthusiasm and the ability to breath life into all sorts of machines that would otherwise end up in the scrapyard and landfill. Keep it up chap ! All the best from over here in England.
All I know is either way I'll be here watching every single video you put up. I love the will it run videos more than anything, your ability to troubleshoot problems is legit second to none. I am an auto mechanic by trade but hung the tools up about 10 yrs ago. You make it exciting to figure things out.
If you are going to start this Cat, or operate the hydraulics, get in and sit down, Standing on the track or any other place but your ass on the seat you are setting your self up for a big hurt, Be safe and am enjoying this vid.
Chris please when your playing with these old hydraulics wear safety glasses when you test the bucket movements. I'm pretty sure I speak for everyone when I say we don't want to see you hurt. We need your videos. 😂
Holy SMOKES that fuel filter!! Wow.. what a gem though, only at 7 minutes, but thank you SO much for being a part of saving this old iron.. My Dad had a 933 Cat when I was a teenager in the 70s. Must've been older because it didn't have a turbo. I remember helping him replace the final drive bearings and the transmission clutches. Hard heavy work!
I like how you dive right in on videos but I also like what he put together. Maybe use it exactly how you just did... as an 'outro' ... bonus footage type thing
GREAT VIDEO! Frankly, I enjoy your cold starts to your videos. It seems natural and non-pretentious. Like you, your videos go straight to the business end of matters. You're doing great, don't change a thing!!!
Colin Size had the great idea. The voice over in the intro is your humorous comment for what’s ahead in the blog. Sweet logo. Intro is fast like your vlog style.👍🏻
The intro is very good and has the correct length. I do dislike intros on UA-cam because I know what I am watching since I clicked into into, it's not tv anymore where they are choosing what I am watching and I need the intro to tell me if I'm going to like it or not. Might be a nice addition to the 1st video of a series of videos.
Intro or not l'm gonna watch either way! Great channel! The product reviews, the shorts, Jen's singing, all good stuff! I know she says she don't want a ring but come dude what are you wanting for. She's a great catch. You guys are good together. More Gus!
Hats of you did a great job. Mmmm no words. Today. This is the owner views. To be true seeing the filters. And runs well. Wow. Hats of to you learning and trying. No complaints. God bless
I love your Catapillar and Cadillac rescues. And the way you just dive in and start working. And the fact that you can get anything running. Please find more Dozers to resurrect! A D9 dozer, or any Dozer would be great! You've given me the confidence to buy an older Dozer and get it runnning.
As a kid in the late '50's I used to get chased out of the local scrapyards trying to do the same thing people do today making films like this on UA-cam. It's a wonderful time to be alive.
She’s a beauty! I sure could use a machine like this, too bad it’s too far away to make it practical with the cost of shipping, saw a couple of these machines at a scrap yard, so sad
You got so lucky on that last blowout. Just continue to make good decisions and be extra safe working around those old hydraulic lines. Those things can change your life for the worse in about 0.01 seconds! If anyone is curious about how awful blown lines can be just look up hydraulic injection injury debridement photos.
hydraulic injection requires you to be pretty close or even in contact with the hose, its not going to hold that pressure and pinpoint stream after several feet of blasting through the air... and what exactly is the solution? replace every hose on every machine every 5 years?
☹️some people just don’t deserve owning stuff they carnt maintain, just total neglect, bottom line , well done in getting it going your amazing , not phased by anything, ,thanks for your vids ,
Thank you for making this video available to show this old Cat. Is still in full working order. So that any right-minded collector will want this peace of tractor history. 👍
I think the intro is good. a couple of clips of the bass dumpster or air boat just to show the wide content. And probably remove the last phrase and just say " no nonsense know how" Thanks for the time and effort Chris. Australia is watching JB
My friend you have a fan ! I knew you were going to turn over that CAT as soon as I saw you turn that crank. And when you turn it on that was amazing. A very satisfactory moment. Gonna watch the U HAUL one next. Good luck brother. 👍😎🪐
At least the intro is short, but to me they eventually get annoying. What attracted me to your channel was, when I first watched, I thought to myself, this guy gets right down to work, and then after 2 videos, I realized the name of your channel...no nonsense know how...perfect, I'm in.
That dozer is cool how they still operate rams etc, my hoist was only out in the weather for 5 years and the shaft had surfaces rust all up the shaft, the intro looks good, all the best to you and your loved ones
I like the intro. The squirter thing makes me laugh and starts me out in a good mood. I like seeing the Detroit red lining and Jen chilling in the Chevelle. It might need a little tweaking but overall I think you should use the intro. 👍🏼👍🏼
Very cool, that seemed to run pretty well with very little effort. You got some great content that I always look forward to seeing. Keep up the good work 👍☮️🇺🇲
I love your channel guys. 5 months ago in the first Chevelle video you mentioned that people liked Vice Grip Garage. Well I like the way you do things, I’m not keen on working on a car on the side of the road either. That’s why I watch your channel, I like the way you do things and Jen is so sweet she really is the icing on cake, so keep on keeping on just the way you are. Cheers Stuart, Canberra, Australia 🇦🇺
@9:36 - "Got no key for the hydraulic tank" - It's a Master lock so anything from a stern look to a cat food tin lid should suffice. Turns out that you had the master key after all.
Great video. You never charged the other pair of batteries on the left side. You cant change a bank like that with a 12v charger if you dont move the clamps to the other pair.
I think that would be a really nice intro. Most Channels I watch all have intros. You need a beginning, a middle, and an end just like writing a paragraph. The intro is your signature piece to your channel. It identifies you and is a sneak peek at the content of your channel. If done well will have the viewer excited to see what's next.
Always enjoy the vids, nice variety. As to the intro; I am with you. I like the "let's get to it" look of videos but if you feel you need one, please don't make it one of those that drags on and on for 90-120 seconds and the video is half over before we get to see the project. Thanks!
I like the intro and how short it is, I agree not a fan of them usually but that ones quick enough it doesn’t make me want to skip it, I’d loose the squirter tho just doesn’t seem like a good fit, just my opinion tho
