    After effects is a scary place. Learning but not on this level yet. I wonder if envato would have files I could import directly for media replacement. Good video again Javier.

    This is fantastic Javier! Thank you so much for making this. On a side note, how has your editing experience been with a7siii footage in premiere? Have you considered moving to FCP at all because of the weird gamma shifts and export times? Would love to hear your thoughts!

    can we do that if we dont export it in mogt format , we save a ae file then open in pro?

    A few days ago I was making a mogrt using media replacement for some images. It seems that whatever media you use in after effects while making the mogrt sets a bounding box for that asset in Premiere Pro. I learned this when I went in to use my template and added an image larger than the one I used in my mogrt's design. By default the image I used was cropped (I was using a series of hand drawn text to use as titles, so each title was different in width). The controls for the media replacement in the Essential Graphics panel in Premiere Pro give the ability to size to fit, but that only allows you to make the image smaller, not larger. The way I was using it, I essentially wanted to drop in images of varying size and be able to tweak that in the mogrt in Premiere. My hack around this right now is to also add in the scale property for the image layer into my mogrt so in premiere I can scale to fit the replaced asset but then size that whole thing up or down. This works for me because I can use an illustrator file so the size down and then scale back up works out ok since it's vector. However I imagine you'd lose the crispness of your image if it was a raster graphic.
    I noticed in this tutorial you mentioned your png files were set to 4K video size. This is a key point to make when dealing with mogrts like this as apparently having the same aspect ration as well as knowing your design works for the max size is important.
    If you or anyone else has any pointers on sizing things in mogrts for variable sized assets (like images). I'd be curious to see if anyone has a better technique I can learn from.
    Loved this tutorial Javier! The side by side of the colors was a brilliant way to make what the template is doing crystal clear.

      Hey thank you David! Honestly I used mogrt files very little until now. The whole rasterizing capability seems to be a no go for this feature. I would guess that is because it take a lot of computer power to render those graphics at real time for playback. You would "essentially" be turning the "essential" graphics panel into a mini After Effects, which I kind of wish was possible.
      I am curious to as to what is the best way to approach this. I think if online video is a bulk of your projects than creating temp files at 4k is your best bet but even then I am creating a vertical video in this temp. I'm sure the feature will only get better from here on out.

    how did you get this template? is it something you created from scratch and if so how? or is it a downloadable preset?

    • @JavierMercedes
      @JavierMercedes  2 роки тому +1

      Yes I created it, the first 2 minutes and 22 seconds of the video is me giving a summary of how I created the template using .png files I created in Photoshop as those colors you see.

    I haven't used the Essential Graphics panel yet but I wonder if using a solid layer (Cmd+y) would work instead of a shape layer

    • @JavierMercedes
      @JavierMercedes  3 роки тому +1

      Ooo I’ll have to try that

    • @dejan907
      @dejan907 3 роки тому +1

      Solid layers aren't working as well :( Precomposing a layer and then dragging it to the Essential Graphics does work so that might be a workaround in some cases
