25 years ago I start as a teacher in After Effects to sale the product, Now I see many thing still the same or upgrades and some new, still be a great software, thanks for your video!
I'm always happy to see these types of videos because AE has so many options its hard to keep track of everything it can do, thanks again for the great videos.
I love this video! All these years I didn't really understand what after effects was which is like you said basically Photoshop for videos. Do you ever use curves to make a vignette? It makes a nicer vignette rather than using "vignette" which uses black to darken the edges, make a feathered mask in curves, invert it, it darkens the colors, it looks more natural. I learned about making a vignette using curves from my Dad, he's been using Photoshop since the 90s.
Super amazing, keep posting, please! you got my head focused for half an hour and didn't move it for a moment. I like the content, and I like the display of the content. I learn so much with just 1 video. And going to make a video of me doing portals :)
Making a one sport montage for my highschool production class and needed inspo for effects, this helped so much! (Been editing for a year, and just started dabbling in after effects for 2-3 months now)
great video! I would add shift channels, and set alpha to luminance inside the effect to composite smoke/fog better than screen mode. Also to create RGB splits
Literally saved my life, I have been trying to figure out after effects and no videos online were really helping me and you covered exactly what I needed to know in the first 3 minutes. Of course I stayed around and watched the rest of the video but you got a subscriber for life I am so happy to have found this channel
Lots of super useful effects in this video, but there was one glaring oversight IMO. You touched on Simple Choker and specifically mentioned how it was great for cleaning up your key pulls. Simple Choker is cool for sure. No disrespect or shade on Simple Choker. But in my experience tho, if you need to clean your keys....use KEY CLEANER bruh! Keylight + Spill Suppressor (Advanced Spill Suppressor if you wanna get spicy) + Key Cleaner = 99% of your keying issues solved. If you haven't used Key Cleaner before you should def check it out! BTW, I'm mildly offended Set Matt didn't make your list. It's top 3 for me oddly enough. It has its quirks no doubt, but once you know the rules it streamlines sooo much. Fractal Noise, Turbulent Displace/Displacement Map and Set Matte are my top 3 (okay 4). Roughen edges should also get an honorable mention. Thanks for sharing this video! Def appreciate ya and your efforts to make the effects list less daunting. Subscribed.
Perspective - Bevel Alpha is also a really usefull effect to fast give some pseudo 3 dimensional depth or gie a hightlight to your edges on a text , image or graphic element in general
As a newbie, thanks for the quick overview of these effects, just what I needed just for a little bit of an idea and examples of what is available on AE. Immediate sub.
wow I'm in min 12 and learned so much already bro. Love it! I'm not as sharp in Ae as I am in Pr, I wonder if we can make a challenge video - you create something using these effects and challenge me to make it and we'll make a video about it
This is awesome..thanks! You are making a one of these look a bit better with scripts (that cost money). I noticed in puppet section..had to go frame by frame, but you use a script (AIT)? "autosway" that manipulates the mesh...does look pretty dope. Good to know at least!...Great vid! I use curves with every project I have ever had, and NEVER messed with that alpha param..So good, man!...subscribed!
