Dare I say your cinematic-style tutorials are on the... cutting edge? When I looked up and saw this was nearly 8 minutes long, I couldn't believe it since it felt like you... sliced through the content so effectively.
@Himmarshee Street Live Ha, I've most certainly seen that Family Guy episode! Just a coincidence that we share the same last name. And also, coincidentally, we share the same father and mother.
@@agentdvois Premiere Pro has an AI setting specifically for multi-cam settings like a podcast. The tutorials look pretty good. You should check them out and possibly save time.

funny, short, and not overwhelming to a beginner like me who found this while trying to figure out how to edit at all. this makes it look so much easier, i love that last tip, it's just the one for me. thank you thank you
Honestly, Javier I don't understand how this video can have dislikes is such nice content and I think you explain it the best way possible thank you so much! I won't use the razor tool again!
Super easy to follow and this has already saved me so much time in my editing! I often have hours upon hours of footage that I am going through and cutting up looking for very specific things, like in a montage of sorts, and so using this style saves me so much time! Especially when you have 10 hours of footage to go through! Thanks :)
At first, I was groaning at all your dad jokes (are you a dad?) but you committed and followed through with unwavering consistency and pride that I had no choice but to hit the Subscribe button. I already thought it was amusing enough you got your partner in for the "did you just throw away my razor? - I did it for dramatic effect" gag, but you followed through and took it to the next level with a shot from the perspective of inside the trashcan! 👏 And I do remember Razor scooters and Motorola phones! Oh yeah... and the information was really practical and succinct too. Thanks.
I started with the long method. Clicking 1000 times to select the razor, the selection tool, the clip, "ripple delete" etc. Then I mapped some of my gaming mouse buttons to those functions. Then I discovered the keyboard. Then I discovered 'Q' and 'W'. Tonight I discovered the Ripple Edit tool. Each time it gets faster! Thank you! :)

straight up - this is some bad a.. trickery going on! I so appreciate this Javier! I'll be using this on my editing and sharing it with my students I'm coaching. Thanks man! -John
i actually like using the "q" and "w" for removing cut clips instead of the dragging thing. i think it's faster in practice even if it has more actions.
I’ve been binge watching your videos for a while now today’s. You’re the best “ Creator’s out there.” That explains things as it should be “ A lot easier to understand, and know how things should be done.” P.s. This is one heck of “AMAZING VIDEO.”
After watching this video, I changed E to Ctrl+K and Ctrl+K to E. Now I Add Edit with one button on my left hand which almost never comes off the keyboard anyways. I still have easy access to "extend selected edit to playhead" but my unedited videos can be up to 14 hours long. Between E and, of course, Q and W, my first pass has gotten SO much quicker. Fantastic tip, as always! (I'm new, yes, I'm binge watching you lol)
I'm coming from Premiere Rush to Premiere Pro and so far this has been the best tutorial I have seen. Most of my videos are recorded in OBS so its usually a single video track with a lot of cutting. This is going to be so helpful! Thank you!
What a great tutorial! Your editing skills are flawless! ✨ I’ll try this next time editing my videos, but I’m afraid I got too used using the cut tool it’ll be pretty hard for me to follow these steps from now on... 😅 Anyway, thank you so much for your amazing tips!
Just started editing a week ago. Picked up the gist of it quickly by using 1 minute tutorials for specific things I wanted to do, and made some edits. Yesterday I thought I'd learn some more in-depth techniques from longer videos and found your channel, it's a GOLD MINE! Nearly every video makes my eyes pop and open premiere to try your techniques. As soon as you busted out the keyboard shortcuts in this video, I was surprised that my jaw was still attached to my head. Thank you for making these videos, I'm so glad I found your channel early on :D
I've had this video saved for at least two years and recently got into video creation and editing again, and this video is such a huge help with getting my workflow back and making progress, thank you so much for this video!

Best fucking tutorial intro I've ever seen holy damn And the rest of the video is great too lmao honestly the day I learned how to ripple edit my life changed forever
First of all you just changed the freakin' GAME for me dude. WOW. Second of all your pacing and delivery are so refreshing and entertaining! Immediate subscribe.
Sharp video. (pun intended) Well produced. Especially like the careful use of music. I have to single that out because I am SICK of music being used ans looping wallpaper - especially by people who should know better. Nice job.

Let me say first that the video itself was really playful and enjoyable to watch. It made me smile when I was actually "ONLY" looking for a tutorial. I'm a rookie in Premier but I'm really glad I learned the Ripple edit from the beginning, how much time I'm going to save !!! Tx.
This video really helped me a lot... I always used Premiere Pro on a basic level, so never customized it and dived into detail. But your suggestions were the thing that I needed at the moment... I just started to record & publish vlogs and long video edits take hours with the razor tool... But with the shortcuts and the tools that you use, I edit the video EXTREMELY faster... Thank you so much, Javier! I'm glad this video just popped out of nowhere while I was searching for another basic thing in Premiere Pro!

Having a shortcut to razor all clips, another shortcut to ripple delete, and locking music is how I've handled it (especially because it varies whether I need top layers moving with the edit or not). The Q shortcut is the one I didn't know; I'll have to try it.
I used the razor method on a video I edited a couple of days ago and used this method on a video I just finished editing...you saved me time and headaches. Thanks for this!!!
I was sceptical and then it became more and more clear and helpful, nice and technical and not underestimating peoples intelligence or skill level. Great work.
I've already started using ripple delete (and assigned it T) in my editing from your other video. And now I'm excited to try out the "ctrl + drag" thing at cuts (I had no idea about that!). I've also learned so much just from the many little cool transitions you've used in this video itself. Thank you so much Javier for helping us "newtubers" out with solid advice.

I'm just amazed how you made using the razor tool look so difficult, when it really isn't. It's one button click.

so damn good, different level than I've seen in this niche
This was the most creative & mind-blowing tutorial I've seen, while still being straightforward. Thank you so much, Javier!
I've mapped the split to the S key for simplicity, which I believe is how it was in Vegas back when I used that long ago.
Same here. Did it few years ago while switching to Premiere
