1m Telescopic fishing rod (Ebay): ebay.us/WqLZIv
Similar mini fishing reel (Amazon): geni.us/Iobbl
Actual mini Fishing reel (Ebay): ebay.us/AzYkxx
Fox Vibrax spinners (Ebay): ebay.us/iId2YP
Neoprene reel case (Amazon): geni.us/eEGfj9
This is a great set up for a small bag and it has the bonus of being good quality too - especially considering the price (which has risen recently).
Although I much prefer catching fish on the fly I carry this rod and reel every time I go fishing for times when the fish aren't interested in flies.
At the time I bought this rod and reel the reel was on offer on Ebay and I got both for under £10 which is crazy.

07:51 Close-ups of rod and reel
10:18 Catching trout (and almost 'Lord Trout')

My son and myself have caught dozens of fish on this set up and part of me wishes that this didn't perform so well as I'd rather my son learned to fly fish but he loves using this rod....

Using this rod for last 8 months, I just love it. Tiny and cheap but very good performance.
Nice one - I just used mine yesterday and caught some nice trout.
Very nice Richard! Good catch! Thanks for showing! Best to you Sepp
This is the first of three videos going out this weekend and they all show small fishing set ups. I love small fishing kits.
That is a pretty cool little rod and reel. Thanks for sharing.
As a bug-out / survival option it is a real contender as it is so easy to play the fish on this set up and it takes up so little space.
Without a 'rod' I'd say go for the Ka-Bar backpacker but if you want a 'proper' rod and reel set up then this is the one.
Great review mate
Glad you found i useful. I have 2 more videos coming tonight and tomorrow night showing even smaller fishing set ups.
Please upload more videos about this rod
The Blue Fox Super Vibrax (size #1 or #2) in silver or gold is a great spinner for many species, one of the best available in my opinion
Yes, they have a bit more weight than the equivalent size Mepps so are easier to cast yet they still ride high enough in the water to fish the shallows.
The trout hammer them.
Love from a poacher. great stuff.
This is the perfect tool for such an occasion, lol
Hi enjoyed the telescopic fishing rod videos excellent for beginners very informative keep up the great work I purchased both of them also what make is the jacket your wearing would be just right for my dad …
Glad you found the video useful. The coat is an Anorak No. 8 from Fjallraven and as far as I can remember I bought mine on sale or second hand since they are very expensive when new and not on offer.
@@ThousandYardStare thanks for your reply and advice I’ll bear that in mind
I know this is a bit off topic but could I ask the coat/jacket you are wearing?
Great review by the way, will be watching more.
I'm glad you found the video useful as I put them out to help.
The smock is a Fjallraven No.8 Anorak and the colour is Dark Olive.
I bought it as 'New without tags' on Ebay a while back as the normal price of these is crazy. Most of my outdoor clothing is second hand since so many people buy good gear and end up never using it. There's no point buying an expensive clothing new when you can get it 'used' for under half the price.
How can i get its?
From Bangladesh.
What was the brand of this particular rod? Links don't seem to work on my end for finding the same rod. Thanks!
It was a no name Chinese rod and similar rods are on ebay is you search 'mini fishing rod'. The Amazon link works for me here but I'm assuming that you're not in the UK.
I'm thinking ov getting this set up for messing about on canal etc would it stand up to that?
I've caught fish up to 2lb / 1kg but lots of them and I have no doubt that it will handle larger fish but this rod is so small that if you tried to lift a decent sized fish out of the water using the rod it would probably snap just as any other small rod would snap. If you're fishing legally on the canal then you'd be better going for a more traditional set up if you don't need a small rod which can be easily hidden.
@@ThousandYardStare thanks I was planning a little perch bashing on micro lures.
I will look at at a travel set up
@@fir3mansam123 It will handle that no problem - I use mine mostly for trout in rivers.
How on earth do the Chinese make that for such a small price , it's incredible and mind blowing to the rest of us !
@Kev Fit Anything coming from China carries that risk but it is famously the familiar corporations (usually electronic giants and pharmaceutical companies) who exploit their workers and use child labor.
That's a massive reason why I always try to either buy Japanese or German for electronics and household goods even though it costs way more and wherever possible I use independent Chinese suppliers - I avoid the likes of Apple, Nike etc. due to their documented cases of child exploitation yet sadly the internet is full of blue haired screamers trying to change the world while simultaneously supporting the giants of industry by wearing the clothing, eating the food and using the smart phones of their oppressors.
Considering that the vast majority of consumer goods are now made in China (since all the Western world governments outsourced their production) it's an impossible line to walk unless we want to live in the 1800's.
That would suit me as I would love to live like the Amish - honest work, plenty of outdoor exercise, organic diet and almost no dis-ease.
We've fallen a long way in our so-called 'developed' society.
@Kev Fit No offence taken at all - you're right it is so often the Western corporations who exploit the cheap labor and get involved with practices usually associated with communist regimes. I'm familiar with the netted windows in the Apple factory to prevent worker suicide and it amazes me that anyone would support a company guilty of abusing workers so badly but he same people screaming that black lives matter don't seem to care about the Chinese or anyone who goes against the current agendas.
It should probably come as no surprise as it's the corporations which are the driving force behind the nonsense going on worldwide at the present time - they've basically bought the majority of the world's govern-ments and made them carry out the steps necessary to achieve Agenda 21 / goals of the Georgia Guide stones.
Govern - to control. Ment - movement / mind.
Seems like they truly are a Govern-Ment now......I won't be 'trusting the science' on this one, lol
@Kev Fit You have it 100% correct there, man. Anyone who still can't see what is really going on is doomed to be on the wrong side of history just like the people in 1930's Germany who 'were just following orders' or 'went along to get along'.
When the world is running headlong toward a cliff and only a few people are walking the other way the few who are walking away will seem crazy and I'm more than happy to not be going with the crowd.
They pay their workers beggar’s wages!
Everything is relative but we (as the 'West') have made a huge mistake outsourcing most of our production to China - we're seeing that decision coming back to haunt us now and the collapse of the economy and food chain won't affect China.
I'm sure it's not from slave labour? Surely not.

@@ThousandYardStare , Oh I agree! I too would be quite happy to adjust to Amish style living. :
@@IsabellaM._ It made me howl with laughter last year when a US reported was interviewing the head of an Amish community on live TV.
He asked the guy why there had been no reported cases of the 'virus' in his community and the Amish guy replied "Because we don't have TV"
They have avoided many of life's engineered problems that way, lol
