hello brother. i found your video and found it very helpful. my father has bone on bone arthritis and was advised knee replacement. he does not want to go for it. i am in a different country and can only do so much. to relieve his pain, i researched a lot and still cant make up my mind. can you suggest what he should be wearing? i know its been a long time since you posted this video, so shot in dark.
I am suffering with osteoarthritis, and the knee is beginning to shift inwards, looking a bit like knock knee. Is there any brace that could correct this
I had a knee brace that had a hex key on it so I could adjust the torque on the knee to wear out the good portion of the knee prior to bi lateral partial knee replacement. It was called the Oxford knee, and I had them replaced over 10 years ago with excellent results. The braces are a last ditch effort before surgery
If knee replacement is successful process, any complications? I'm 30 year.. Yes too early for osteoarthritis.. But my medial joint space has significantly reduced..
Ive tried the first 2 braces. The second brace supports the knee better but is heavy and due to weight and cumbersome and uncomfortableness of this brace I hated it!! I immediately bought the Ossure Forfit brace. It is still more cumbersome than my magnetic sleeve support braces which I wear the most. The more heavy and unconfortable the brace is the more likely a person won't wear it. I have at least 10 braces hardly worn due to this.
Thanks for the information on OA knee braces I wish I would have done the research before I went out to get a brace from Hanger Medical, I found out that there is a competitive war going on with the different companies that are selling these braces. The first brace I came across was the Levitation #2 Bionic Knee brace, then next the Icarus Medical Ascender OA knee brace, the guy at Hanger said he never heard of either brace and he recommended the DonJoy Defiance OA knee brace! Each person I spoke to claim that each one of this company's copy their technology, and might I add all three were pretty pricey! To me it seem they all thrive on trying to get the health Insurance to pay for the bulk of the price for the brace. However, I have ended up with no brace at all for the moment. I am interested in knowing if the Ossur CTi 2 OTS knee brace is in the same capability or performance as the three I mention earlier, and if so I can just purchase that brace and call it a day! Thanks for the medical knowledge it was valuable.
The Ossur brace is comparable but it also depends on what type OA is being treated. You could find this brace online however being fit by a specialist is best. All of these braces are pricey and because it lumps in the cost of treating, fitting, adjustments and sometimes minor repairs by the orthotist. Even if you received it 10 months ago. If the strap breaks or it needs adjustment, this should be at no cost to you.
I have lateral meniscus issues. I am not super active, but I do cardio workouts 5 times a week, scuba dive and other sports. The doctor who examined me made no recommendation for a knee brace, he saw what I was wearing and said it was the norm. The compression knee fabric brace for joint pain relief I wear provides best relief for a pounding 30 minute workouts. Looking at your video, I see a huge difference in product. I should try something that is more restricting and pushes away from the outer part of the knee. I have purchased Jumper's Knee Patellar Tendon Support Strap Band, Compression Knee fabric brace, Compression Knee fabric brace joint pain relief. Any suggestions appreciated. Thank you
Ask your doctor to recommend you to an orthodist. They can evaluate your limb based on your doctor‘s notes and determine what will be the best brace for you
I recommend that you see in orthotist to make sure that the fitting is appropriate. Sometimes if you have a bigger thigh in a small calf or vice versa it’s best to get a custom design rather than a off-the-shelf one
Will watch this a few times to digest the pros and cons. The trouble I’ve had is that the size of my leg is not well proportioned. I can’t keep a brace in place. Maybe one of these will be more beneficial. Thanks
I broke my cartilage 5 years ago, had surgery to remove the broken pieces. ever since it has been cracking every time I bend or extend my leg or go upstairs. What brace would you recommend to play volleyball or run? The last one?
Hi Cat. for the best control and prevention possible I would recommend a custom brace over any of the ones in this video. You can have one made by a local Orthotist in your area. However, if you just want to try a off the shelf brace first, than the CTI brace (the last one) would be the closest to a custom brace feel.
Have you evaluated tricompartmental unloading knee braces (e.g., Levitation 2, Spring Loaded Technology, or Ascender, Icarus Medical Innovations)? Considering this type of knee brace as a possible alternative to bilateral TKAs for OA. Thank you.
Hi Karen. I have heard of these braces and there are a lot of pros and cons but the biggest issue from the medical field is about what they "say" they can do vs what they can "actually" do. Would you like me to make a review video for those braces?
What brace do you wear for OA pain relief?
Are z1 kne braces legit ? They claim bilateral compartement unloading ?
Donjoy OA Nano
Thanks for posting!
Yes I have a custom uploaded brace and yes it works immediately I have one for each leg
Going to be fitted for a brace this morning! You just have me a lot of info and things to ask/ talk about with the folks in an hour.

My question is: Will a brace work I’d you have a bucket handle meniscus tear? Or is counterproductive?
Have you checked out the Breg Duo?
Thank you for your time!!!😀

Unfortunately braces are not designed to correct, they’re only designed to prevent progression

Great and useful info! This info is very relative to me and other family members'
Glad you enjoyed it!
Brother, you didn't mention the name of your profession? 😊
Fitnus brace. No instruction on how exactly it should be used. Osteoarthritis & some bone on bone with right kneecap Osteoarthritis in left knee

CTI is a ligament brace not an OA brace. The Unloader One X would be better suggestion.
Use an Unloader One. However, it keeps falling down. Doesn't stay in place.

Sounds like you need to consider a custom fitted brace. All of these braces I’m recommending are off the shelf.
My knee brace is called Gladton I have bone on bone on my knee
