Knee pain can be frustrating for anyone, but particularly for those who love being active. Walking, running, hiking, and weightlifting are just a few of the many activities that knee pain can interrupt or limit. Luckily, knee braces, knee sleeves, and knee straps can help in the short term by alleviating some of the pain you experience regularly, making your day-to-day more manageable while you build lasting strength and endurance through a physical therapy program.
The particular knee support product you choose, though, will depend on what kind of knee pain you’re dealing with, why you’re dealing with that pain, and what kind of activities you’re trying to do while wearing the brace, sleeve, or strap.
Here are the 3 Knee Braces I Tested:
UFlex Athletics Knee Compression Sleeve: amzn.to/3u5xDCW
    GenuTrain - Knee Support: amzn.to/3dngfCT
P-TEX Closed Patella Knee Sleeve: amzn.to/3sGJHdG

May try the others. I hadn't seen this video, when I bought my UFLEX sleeve. I like it, I bought three more so I could wear one on each knee and have a spare pair, while one pair is being washed ( Soak bath ) and drying ( hung up to dry ), I'd have a pair to wear. My right knee is the trouble maker. it's worn out, they tell me I need a knee replacement. My left has tendonitis under the patella.I do lots of stair climbing, on a yard truck, I put semi trailers on the door at a distribution center. This UFLEX sleeve stays up, and feels good so far. Thanks for the video.

I've been using the Bauerfeind knee brace for years, and love it after trying many others on the market. For meniscus damage like I have, they make side specific braces for left and right. I little pricey but well worth it. I tried the Bauerfeind brace after seeing a few NBA players using them.

I was thinking the same. If someone with that much muscle around the knee can get injured running on a treadmill, there is no hope for someone like me.

Konpresio - So the knee sleeves are fine, however I didn't think they were that great. Moreover, and most importantly. The product took close to 4 weeks to arrive. There is a statement about every cent being refunded, no questions asked, however, when I inquired about returning them, they wanted a $7 restocking fee, and I had to pay for shipping...that would be over 20% of the cost of the product to return. Ouch!

If your meniscus is torn you should really be in a hinged brace for lateral stability. The uflex is cheap and very effective for low obtrusive design but it’s not enough for major injuries

Excellent video. I just had my 1st knee injury, i have no clue what happened either. The brace the hospital gave me is literally the size of my entire leg and crutches are hell. Im pretty sure everyone in hell are using crutches ! Anyways im going to order one of these instead. What about taping?

after watching this I thing the U flex in a loose fitting size might be for me....I am going through many knee sleeves on a trial and error basis.. I also have to wear knee pads which ad to support and tension... the cheapest best thing for me was a sparthos xxl but somehing happened to their sizing...I might go back and try the XL.... just to try and get the same or similar supprt that was working for me.. even before I bought the ones by sparthos.. I should have taken a medium according to their size chart and bought the xl but the XL was to tight...so I then boght an XXL... I didnt like it but now after trying to find az better brand I bought an incrediwear and I should have been medium according to their chart but bought large due to reviews saying it fit tight I bought an XL.. had to send it back ( too tight) bought an incrediwear XXL... andh that doesnt fit right and my knee hurt more... so now I am considering this Ufllex.... the reason being is that I watch people on UA-cam as they put them on to see how much tension it shows on their thighs and calves.... this gives me a general idea of what size to buy... for me right now light tension seems to be the least painful,, while wearing them and my knees dont hurt after I take them off to rest or for the night after a long days work..

Thank you for doing this video...very helpful as there are so many braces out there claiming to be the best. Man, to see you move around like that in your video while awaiting meniscus surgery was sure surprising. I took a meniscus tear a couple of years back while running and it's the most excruciating pain I've experienced (and I'm a bonafide kidney stone survivor :) ). In the couple of weeks between the injury and the surgery, I could not bend my leg at the knee, let alone stand on it. Partial removal of the meniscus got me back on my feet, but it's never been the same and I've not been able to return to running, which is rather depressing. Now my other knee bugs me frequently and I'm hoping I can allow it to heal itself with a proper brace, so finding your video was timely and helpful. I'm curious, did you have a partial meniscectomy or did the surgeon repair/suture the tear? Thank you!

Thanks! Going to the Dr. In a couple weeks, PT didn’t help 😞. 38 non-athlete but walk a lot. 6’4” tall might have something to do with it- sleeve only thing that’s been of any help 🙏

Great review. The P -Tex is similar to Don Joy keen braces. Which I use and like very much for my basketball playing. Biggest issue I have is the top slides down and I keep pulling up.

If I would choose any of these, I would choose the P-tex. But when I went to the link, the one that is pictured is not the one that you have in this video. Does the one you have give a model number on the product or package? P-tex makes many different models. Thanks.

That gray material on the back of that one knee pad looks like lycra (spandex or elastance) not mesh, although lycra does have great “breathability.” The primary purposes are to let perspiration out in the back bend of the knee (and also reduce neoprene, etc.) bulk. This brand / style is definitely an important feature: no one likes sweat accumulating behind the knee, and the resulting burning and itching after an hour or more of activity. Also, longer is better to provide broader knee-muscles support. Unless a doctor prescribes a rigid (read: metal) side brace, avoid these kinds of unhelpful knee braces for the issue described in this video. The side “brace” in the demonstrated item is a “soft” brace that does not provide significant side support. By the way, your hat is on backwards…
