  • **Please note, I no longer use and cannot recommend Dixie Belle Paint products due to highly questionable business practices, contract violations, and unethical treatment of artists and retailers that led to mine and numerous others resignations in late 2021. Please see the links below for more information. I have chosen to leave this video content up for learning purposes only, but highly recommend considering other products when trying to achieve these same techniques. There are too many good product brands on the market to support a brand with these practices. I've included links to my most used options below

I can just tell that not only are you an amazing artist but that you’re the sweetest, kindest, and most loving Mom, Wife, and friend. You have a big heart and it comes through by the way you hold yourself, the way you speak to your viewers, and the sweet smile you always have in your videos. I just wanted you to know that I can feel that and I honestly think if we lived near each other we’d be great friends! You are so sweet and an amazing artist! Go hubby too! I have a great husband like you do! 😉

If there is a trick for the Elite Retailers to get brushes, I would love to know what it is. The lady who is our local Elite retailer has not been able to get brushes for close to 6 mos and she checks daily, it's sad times in Cola, SC. Alo glad you mentioned mixing the Silk paints together, it's something I've been wanting to try and now I know I can!! ps: for Sean (sp) at 24:40 "chicka chickaaaa"

From my experience i have to disagree with some of this. Ive been using the midnight blue and while its ok on drawers where there are maybe 3 swipes across its not great on the cupboard fronts. Im now on my 3rd time sanding and 4th attempt and im getting the same result. Drag lines. Certainly not 5 minutes workable as i just noticed a hair in the paint, lifted it off with my brush and its no longer workable and left yet again drag lines. Ive tried 3 different bruses (all synthetic). Im at the point of probably needing to just price my item down a bit because i cant see what i can do differently. I think also being a dark colour it shows up more. I pushed a drawer back in and the paint wore off already. This must be because i didnt use slick stick i only sanded my piece. I usually always sand only. Im also getting a white mark from my hands when i rub the front of the piece. Again probably because its dark. On the bits where it has gone well it is a nice finish but these other bits are really tricky. Its not too warm here either so im stumped.

Brandy, if the base of my project was painted in Silk and I wanted to apply a stencil in a Chalk Mineral Paint color I have then how would I seal that CMP since the Silk doesn't require a sealer/top coat? Thank you @brushedbybrandy Would I have to seal the entire project then? Just curious how to handle.

You can leave the chalk mineral paint unsealed if you are ok with the low matter sheen, otherwise I would seal the entire piece fir uniformity
