- **Please note, I no longer use and cannot recommend Dixie Belle Paint products due to highly questionable business practices, contract violations, and unethical treatment of artists and retailers that led to mine and numerous others resignations in late 2021. Please see the links below for more information. I have chosen to leave this video content up for learning purposes only, but highly recommend considering other products when trying to achieve these same techniques. There are too many good product brands on the market to support a brand with these practices. I've included links to my most used options below

"The lion does not turn around when the small dog barks." You're such a genius. Just ignore the haters.
I love your work Brandy !! Because of you, I have learned so much ! Thank you for sharing your expertise and knowledge of furniture painting.
This piece looks amazing to me, love your use of soft colors. My sister-in-law says you are the best. Thanks Cheryl, you are right. And Cheryl LOVES Outlander too.
Totally agree with your words of wisdom in this segment. Hopefully it will help. Thank you for your creativity and artistic flair as your pieces are always beautiful. I love watching your videos and learn something new and valuable in every session. Also enjoy the friendly banter between you and Sean. Many thanks for sharing your talents and techniques with all of us. You are by far my favorite Dixie Belle artisan to watch.
This is beautiful. You have inspired me. Now I know what I am going to do with my dresser
Your blending is flawless! I have a similar piece of furniture I would love to redo, will probably watch this numerous times!
I can't imagine anyone being negative about anything you do, you are amazing! There may be a color I'm not fond of but your technique is always amazing and your creativity is the best I've ever seen! Keep up the great work and I'm so glad to see new posts on UA-cam! Thank you so much for sharing all that you do!
Thank you!!
The color combinations are gorgeous! LOVE
Love, love, love all your finished pieces!
I absolutely LOVE these colors you are using!!!!! They are just what I would need to do a piece I'm getting ready to start for my son and daughter in law for their dining room. I use a different brand and all IOD molds and transfers. It's gorgeous!!!
I am glad for your conversation starter on negativity! We need positive reenforcement not negative critivism
This piece is beautiful,l love the colors!😍
I agree with you speaking up about negative comments, you guys put yourself out there- live and in person, to help & show us techniques, I would guess anyone posting something negative would never have the guts to do that! Even if something is not my style, I still enjoy to watch and learn. I have been watching you and CrysDawna, and a couple others for a couple years and its been so helpful. You have given me confidence to give some pieces a try (for personal use). I even went to the work shop in Ontario, Ca and got to meet both of you. Keep up the good work, for every one of the negative Nancy's out there, there's 1000 of us that are grateful for what you are doing!!
I would never leave a negative or less than polite comment on anyone’s work. I love French provincial furniture and the bowed front of this piece is beautiful. The colors you chose, your blending are superb…the addition of the moulds knocked it out of the park. I’ve also commented on the finished piece on your Facebook page. Since you asked you don’t mind hearing comments on what someone would do differently as it may inspire you for future pieces, in my humble opinion the addition of the transfers was just too much. It took away from the beautiful paint colors and the beautiful application of the paint across the front of this awesome sideboard. That’s all…thank you for what you do!
I think this is beautiful! I've noticed in so many ways people are sometimes unkind in their comments. I'm from the generation of 'if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything!' There is a kinder way to say 'I don't like it'... BUT how could anyone not like your work. You are PRO!
Thanks Joyce! I just try to focus on the constructive and kind comments. Thanks for taking the time to write a nice message!!! greatly appreciated!
Love your tutorials! You are a true artist!
Ya Brandy, your work just continues to amaze me. Im actually very jealous. I would love to be able to do that and you find the BEST pieces😊
Your work is absolutely gorgeous!!! I just found you, so I am binge-watching and learning so much. Thanks you!
I've been binge watching too! I fell asleep last night watching lol
The simplicity in which you reflect your creativity is incredible ... Thanks for sharing your time, knowledge, inspirations and also your valuable comments. Stupid comments are just that: smaller, poor among themselves. Nothing than human beings without better skills to share;) And you can do much better. Congrats!
I love that piece! I really hate negative comments. Your creatively is so amazing
Your work is always so beautiful! I would love to be as creative as you are!
Absolutely love this piece and the colors you chose! I love earth tones. Now I'm thinking of doing these colors in my bedroom on my bed and dressers I have to build. Always enjoy watching you and listening to your hubby. You guys are funny. lol
Thanks Tracey - lol - we've got the banter down for sure ;)
I love your work!!! Just beautiful!!!!
I think your designs are spectacular! Everyone has an opinion sitting behind their phone. I am blessed that you share with us your designs on your projects. Keep them coming. Thanks
Thank you so much!
Those small wheels are too cute 😃...and your furniture gorgeous ❤️❤️
I am in complete agreement on the negative comments! It is so discouraging and completely unnecessary! Not everyone will love every piece and that’s okay. It’s not okay to be critical of an artists’ piece just because you don’t like the colors, design, etc. It seems folks are forgetting lessons learned in kindergarten! If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all! Mean people stink! Btw.... you are completely amazing! Everything you make, I love so much! You are inspiring and uplifting! Thank you for sharing your talent!
This is my favorite piece ever. E V E R.
Surprised to know you are from Santa Rosa. I am too. Have a daughter and granddaughters still there.
Love your work and enjoy the bantering with your husband. Charish every moment you have together. Lost my husband of 59 years to Covid in October. Bless you and yours. I fall asleep most nights watching you on UA-cam.
I'm so sorry for your loss, Arvetta. Thanks for the nice note.
Wow, you make this look easy...but I am afraid to try this. Newbee, just going through and binge watching. I have painted for 40 years but nothing like this. Looks fun and yet scary! Gorgeous work.
I just found your channel, and your work is just exquisite! My biggest problem is deciding which of the techniques to try. Thanks!
One more thing! I have never gotten a notification that you have posted a video, but I check daily!
If you subscribe to the channel, you should get notifications?
As a fellow furniture artist I agree with what you are saying not everyone is going to like a certain piece and will always seem to have an opinion but wouldn't it be boring if we all liked the same thing !! That's why its called creativity for a reason if people don't like a piece, i agree with Amanda don't say anything at all move on !! For the ones that don't appreciate it there will be others that will. We cannot please everyone and nor should we. The work you do is phenomenal its all about the creativity and that's that. Thank you for sharing your tips and talent with us all. Veronika
I agree is awesome. But for person with lees experiences is hard to follow you, if you can more specific and lees talk.
I think your piece is gorgeous. We each are unique and have different visions for a piece, and that's what's so cool about yours and others sharing tutorials etc. I get a lot of motivation from watching other artisans and sometimes when I'm stuck, looking at others work inspires me and gives me new ideas to try. Looks gorgeous and your blending is so perfect!
Completely agree about finding inspiration!
Brandy, listening to your video, I agree with what you are saying. People might not like the colors you are using and they might say they don't "like" it. I think maybe they are not saying what they mean sometimes. They shouldn't really say anything negative at all, after all, it is your design. They can do what they want with their pieces. I LOVE what you do, colors, techniques and all. I've learned tons by listening to you... You are truly an artist!!! Don't listen to the haters...they are just jealous......!!
Brandi, I really appreciate the depth of detail you go to .... to show each and every step of these beautiful painted pieces. You have a gift and it just awesome you share with those of us trying to learn.... how to blend and layer and use the products. Sean is just the best. What a sweet, funny supportive guy. My question is... do you have family to watch the kids??? Great job!
Thank you!! They have learned this is part of our routine. They usually are inside the house or out playing, sometimes will come into the garage quietly. It took a long time for them to understand, but they know to access us quietly if needed
I love watching you guys!
Oh....and THANK you for the Outlander suggestion. "AAAAAAhhhhhh!!!"
Lovely combo of colors.
Your blending technic is awsome.
STUNNING
Amazing work🌺 loving the color choice and the cherry blossom flowers. I want to do this too but Im so scared ill mess up🤦🏽♀️
Omg, I love this piece. It looks fantastic
Thank you!
I love your style, so awesome! Thanks for the great videos!
Thank you for sharing your work. Love your skills.
Brandy I have been watching videos of painting furniture for several months now. I have some really nice pieces of furniture that I want to paint…. I still cannot make up my mind what colors to use ‼️🤣 I like so many things! You take some really big chances on your pieces that I could not do…. Your pieces turn out so beautiful. Thank you for your art!
Thank you!
Beautiful!
This is stunning!
I agree with your “lecture”, people today hide in their homes and behind their electronic devices and throw out negativity into the world and it is bad energy for everyone. My Mother used to say “if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all”. I love your work. You are a very sharing team; you and your husband are fun to watch and listen to. I appreciate what I have learned from you and you are excellent ambassadors for a great product; Dixie Belle. Keep being a positive, artistic force! This piece is gorgeous. Where did you get your little caster seat? That would save me - my knees are aging and the up/down kills me.
I’m also interested to know where did she get her rolling seat? If you find out, please let me know, thank you
I totally agree with you
I dont mean to be off topic but does anybody know of a method to get back into an instagram account..?
I was stupid lost the password. I love any help you can offer me.
@@mornat4638 They are mechanic's stools or dollies.
Your mother and mine are of the same mind, my momma says the same thing. I have debated starting a channel, but I have seen the troll comments and don’t know if I could handle it. I don’t understand just being hateful.
Great tutorial.
Thank you
Great color combo, beautiful dresser......oh and Outlander❤ is awesome!!!
Thanks Anita! yes... Sam is pretty dreamy ;)
Absolutely Beautiful !!!
Got to be the prettiest piece I have seen done !! My favorite style of furniture and if I could afford it , it would be mine !!
Love it my friend !! ❤❤❤🙂
Thank you!
I love what you do!!!
Just beautiful
Lovely!
Who the heck says that don't like it to begin with? yeesh! SMH. You're amazing.
Another gorgeous piece and yes to Outlander - Jamie Frasier omg lol.
I love this! But the top looks mint. Still love it.
Wow that’s beautiful 😍
I LOVE your colors.
This piece would look great In my house!
I'm just watching this video omg you guys are hilarious I for one wouldn't mind Jason Momoa even if he's lying on a Walmart rug lol. as for those with negatively on your work your work is absolutely amazing I couldn't criticize you cause I can't paint furniture but I do paint on canvas and I'm my worst critic
Brandy your pieces are so beautiful. I love the use of mould’s on your work. I can tell that you love what your doing. The many hours it takes to finish a piece. Question since I am new to your program, do you sell your pieces?
Yes, Tom on a bear skin rug - like that!! lol
Love the look. Actually every color are my colors. However for me I would have switched the placement from the blueish and grayish.. But awesome look.
11 mo ago you said you used amazing resin. It’s a blue box.
Q: where can I find amazing resin? I thought molds were made with clay? My apologies but I want to do what you did in that video. You’re such a great teacher. ❤️ you and Sean together!😋
I think your amazing. What a beautiful tasteful job!!!
Waooooooo i loved, know You are My Friend 😊
Brandy you're so inspiring....and yes I know this video was last year. .I Alwasy go thru ur videos for technique for blending.....it's like you're creating the "Smokey eye effect".....just love these colors blended....Ignore people Whom Only Watch videos to Critique and No construction criticism .....Those people Literally HAVE absolutely NOTHING Better to Do ....Hey MAYBE they Shud Just pick up a brush and Be more Positive and make some art of their own....Brandy KEEP going with Ur Beautiful attitude and I JUST love how ur husband and you with joking and keeping the mood light ...be blessed sweetie and keep inspiring people as u do for me🤗❣️
Thanks so much for your kind words Debra! I try to stay focused on the nice comments like this that I get ;)
@@BrushedbyBrandy you're the Best Brandy..... NOTHING But Positive Vibes Here! 👍🤗
So Brandy, what do you put in the mold to get the flowers? And you are so good at what you do.
I am amazed to watch you paint. Especially blending. Did it come naturally to you? Or how did you practice to become such a master? I watch your videos over and over, hoping your technique will, come more natural to me. I’d love tips on how you started. I just recently found your site. I have watched many of your videos. Perhaps I’ve missed your tips on how you started. Thanks Brandy!
I am self taught, lots of practice, videos, and reading
Absolutely
I lived in Santa Rosa for about a year, so cool! I went to the Peanuts museum. Brandy, I love your work! I'm wondering how much you sold this particular piece for, and what part of the furniture do you use to brand it?
is there a link to the finished project? I'm very new to this and love the color combo.
Great video. Love the dresser and color choices.
I don’t see a link for the mold and polymer product you used for the roses. I will consider using the links to Dixie Belle next time I buy from them. Thanks for that reminder. Gosh, would love to attend a conference. Is it only for representatives/sellers? Or can regular artists attend to learn?
I know this video is from Christmas 2019 and love all of it, especially the molds! I was trying to find it on your fb page with the link to the products in the description but can’t locate it? How else can I find the video and what the finished product looked like? Curious what transfer you ended up using too!😊
Sometimes , I think it’s just trolls. But it’s a bummer. I think all your stuff s cool and beautiful.
Omg I love Outlander 💗..and yes love that guy SEXYYYY ... And I love this piece you have painted, I'm getting ready to do my first one ever.. 🙏
Great tutorial, is there a picture of a final design? Couldn’t find on Instagram
Charles Schultz lived in St Paul too. We have Snoopy statues.
Come to Boston for vacation next time, there is a lot to c and do
When you do larger pieces I noticed you use the darker color ( this piece) Savanah Mist) primarily on the top blending into the other colors, versus when you paint the drawers you tend to use all 3. Just asking for future reference. Thank you.
Which Resin did You use? The advantage of Resin vs paper clay?
The piece is just so so beautiful, i am just blown over by your outcome. You just inspired me to pick up a brush and paint. What material do you use to make your molds and what adhesive do you use to stick them.
Amazing casting resin
www.alumilite.com/?oid=3&affid=89
And titebond quick and thick adhesive
beautiful work as always!!! Can you blend the silk paints??? and do you ever spray???
All in one style paints are not the best for blending, I prefer chalky styles. I do mostly multi color finishes but spray metallics and clear coats
So if you could show something with gray & beige? Still pretty scared of color & have a 5 piece 1970 yellow set that I need to really bring into this decade that I want to use- bot want to keep it pretty neutral
I would give anything to have a small fraction of your amazing talent!
#hatersgonnahate
Beautiful, one of my favorites. Where did you buy your leg dolly’s?
Those are available in my Amazon shop
www.amazon.com/shop/brushedbybrandy
Es un mueble lindo, no hablo inglés, me hubiera gustado ver el terminado.
P. D. Tienes un relajo y la vista se distrae.
can I ask, what is the mix you put in the moulds please
You can get DB products from Milena's Vintage Garage in the Netherlands and they ship to Belgium
Where do you buy your glue that you use?
Salve. Sei bravissima! Io ho provato a far questa tecnica ma si mischiano troppo i colori. 😩😩
can you show us up close the Amazing Resin so I get the correct one
What did you say you used for your mold? Paper clay? I love Outlander!
Please could you tell me the name of the resin mis you used for the moulds . thanks
What did you use as base coat
Who makes the transfers and how can I order them? Who makes the molds?
Where do you get the mold?
What colors are these and what brand? Love your work:)
This is Dixie belle paint in Savannah mist, french linen, and drop cloth
