I'm getting ready to move to Albuquerque, New Mexico to RE-Open my Acting Academy and have Mystery Dinner Theatre too...
I looked around and saw most of my furniture is really old... not my real Antiques... pieces that I wouldn't even sell in a garage sale... and was going to throw them all away!!!
I was very sad... because you know when you're doing stage work... plays, you need PROPS, different time periods.... but I thought my little end tables, chairs and coffee tables were just to UGLY... but after seeing ALL of your great videos...
HOLY MOLY....
I now an NOT going to throw away ANY of the little tables, chairs NOTHING away.

Did i miss how you cut the transfer so you can open the drawers? I want to try this on a small china cabinet of my grandmother. Please show specifically how to score transfers to allow doors and drawers to open. Love the creativity! Can't wait to try the technique!
I use a razor blade while its still attached to clear backing to get cleanest cut

I love this piece. I haven't tried any transfers yet but this video has inspired me! I painted a bookshelf about 6 months ago with DB chalk paint and used a satin clear coat. The piece is very two dimensional without any interesting details. Perhaps a transfer is what's needed! Can I use a transfer on something that's already been coated?
Beautiful job! May I ask how you prep for painting a piece? Do you use a primer to prevent tannins from coming through on wood pieces?

I am doing first piece ever! I am going in easy and using chalk paint. Will transfer adhere to chalk paint?and do you just wax after the transfers or use clear coat first then wax?thx
I think I would cut all of the flowers and leaves out first and lay them down exactly how I would like it to appear on my furniture. I’d be more inclined to place all the foliage behind the flowers for a more realistic image. I like your custom colour you have created.

I have ordered my first transfer I have already waxed the furniture but I asked the supplier should I rub back the wax to apply transfer she said that the transfer should be applied first before wax what would happen if I applied it on top of wax
You’re so helpful and generous! Just bought my first transfer - Prima ReDesign 'spring meadow life', from Amazon, and the white backing is completely separated from the transfer sheet, and the transfers are not very sticky. Is that a normal occurrence or is it a problem? Thanks!
It can be, they aren't supposed to stick to the white sheet, it's just for protection. Just be sure the clear sheets don't stick to each other, that can ruin the transfer

I’m wondering now that I’ve seen your tutorial if you can layer transfers over top of or slightly overlap in gold foil or gold leaf apply to a dresser?? Can Transfer paper do that?
Yes, you can definitely layer with gold leafing, may take some finesse to get the transfer to stick, rub gently in those areas

Brandy, I need help. I’m putting peel and stick not transfer decals on painted bookcase. How do I apply the decals? They seem to peel off according to the numbers in the picture but do I just peel them off and hope it doesn’t stick to itself? Or how?

Yes, I slice them with a Razor knife
Hey Brandy, you may not be able to answer this but who else to ask. I was on Etsy and saw Dixie Belle paint but the jars did not look logit, do you know if the Dixie Belle company actually sells on Etsy? Thanks.
Can I put a transfer on an oak dining table without having to sand the top of my table. It has a few scratches, or do I have to sand the wax on top of my table first ? I really want to sand it just place transfers on my table top if it’s possible. Thank you in advance
Wax is a resist, you'll need to remove the wax and clean well before you can place the transfer
Quick question, once you have a completed piece how much do you charge for your pieces? Your work is above what I see on UA-cam. I would guess for the amount of time you devote to each piece you can command hundreds for let’s say the vanity you are working on. Could you help us price a piece like this once completed? Love this color pallet! I have several pieces that have good bones but need some TLC to turn it fabulous like this piece. Is Wise Owls blackberry similar to the darker color in this piece? I love the black cherry too. I think their dark teal color blended with the blackberry (and some lighter colors) would be so pretty. I love these transfers! So many possibilities, I really don't know how you choose. I know that some pieces of furniture just call out to you and the decision on color/extras😊 is pretty easy to see. I think the layers of color, texture and some bling is what caught my attention. Now, every piece of furniture and my cabinets are calling to me, to be transformed. Can you apply antiquing wax on top of a transfer and then seal it?
Yes, you can, I blind like that the wax has a tendency to gather around the transfer edges and make it more apparent

Yes. You can, they just wouldn't be sealed so you'd want to be cautious with them

If you make a ripple in the design is that a problem and is it fixable after that ?
Yes, it can be a problem, you can get air bubbles that need to be popped or creases that can usually be burnished out, any serious flaws can be painted in to match

I found a dresser on Pinterest that had a full body Large transfer of an angel that I just fell in love with. I was wondering where I could find that particulars transfer. . I like the larger transfers. . Doing transfers doesn't look as difficult as I thought it would be. But I do see that it is time consuming and takes patients. . And I'm excited about trying to do this. . Could you please tell me where I can purchase larger transfers? I am grateful that I ran across your Channel. .
