  • In this episode of the abandoned building renovation, we paint the walls using a paint sprayer!! Check out Simplisafe at simplisafe.com/modustrial and get a FREE HD camera with purchase of any system!
I used a paint sprayer to paint my entire home - including three bedrooms, studio, half bath, guest bath, laundry room, and the hallway! Since we are painting brand new drywall, and have to deal with drywall dust, we used a process called backrolling to apply the primer and get a nice even coat on the drywall. Backrolling involves first spraying an even layer of primer onto the drywall, without dusting first. A roller is then used to roll the primer and press it into the drywall, mixing it with the joint compound dust on the wall, so that everything is evened out, and the joint compound + primer essentially becomes part of the wall itself.

Something to think about for trim is to prime and paint it in your shop, and then install it. After that you can do a white putty, caulk it, and then a quick brushed coat to finish it. That will save a lot of time on your knees trying to paint it then.

I am so glad I found this channel at the beginning of your journey! I have dreamed of doing something like this my whole life but was not financially able. Watching your videos is the next best thing. I've been repainting our living room and kitchen and it is a ton of work. I can only imagine how exhausting it was to do that entire space twice! And yes, it does pay to have a good quality paint!!! Looking forward to next steps. Thanks so much for sharing. 🤗

I can’t see the difference between the primer and the white so it just looks like you’re dancing around all the rooms 😂

lol, you just wrote out my exact thought process while editing... its a video about painting, but the primer was more dramatic....but I gotta show the painting part....hmmmm....make it a music video, lol!
