I was here when you did your first episode on the renovation. Amazing. Congratulations.
Thanks Daniel!
Me too
Me three!
+1 here. 😊
Me five!
Unfortunately, now you have to purchase and renovate an abandoned town for us to watch. Competition is getting wild on UA-cam
Demolition ranch could use some help on the abandoned resort…. 👀
Ghost town living is already doing that
Demolition Matt...Desperado (Abandoned) Ranch - big as a town.
But, renovate, & give away to families in need.🎉❤🎉
Ghost Town Living bought an abandoned mining town (Cerro Gordo), it's slow going but they are attempting to turn it into a bit more of a tourist destination, rebuilding the old hotel/saloon etc. Lots of spelunking as they explore old caves and find artefacts from the old miners and such.
I don't know why the algorithm recommended this channel back in the day, but I remember that first video and thinking "If he pulls this off, it's going to be amazing!" and it is.
It was on hell of an obstacle race
Man, we waited for 4 years for this episode and it was worth it. Now that you done, take all that footage to HGTv and get yourself a tv show, with this concepts and start all over again, I will watch it cause your story is unique and inspiring.
This is the kind of space that every man has dreamt of at least once in his life and this mad man actually went and did it.
Ha, thank you much! 😁
I still do. I always thought converting a commercial into a residential would be fun.
Hopefully I can within 20 years.
Not just every man. Female here and I have been watching since the beginning. I would love to have a space like this - AS IS. Including the commercial space. His journey has been AMAZING and such and INSPIRATION.
Four years goes by in a blink of an eye. Watched every episode. And missed you during your recovery. To see the finale result so far is beautiful. Can't wait to see what you do with the lower level. Great work. You should be proud of yourself.
Thanks James!
@@modustrial However I don't know if this is the most well-documented house build/renovation on UA-cam. Laura Kampf has been putting out videos of her house almost weekly for over 2 years and she's far from done! Great series though!
You dont realize how much time flies until you hear this began 4 years ago, I found this channel shortly before this whole project began and it still feels like it was maybe a year ago. Its been such an awesome journey and Im so glad I got to watch it all.
Just became a mom when I started watching your journey four years ago, and now I can say in an official "mom voice," that I am very proud of you.
thanks :)
I was in high school when he started, I am in college right now. Happy for him
I remember first subscribing when you started this build. The fact that it's finally done is mind-boggling to me. It looks amazing, and it was great to be part of the ride!
The choice of the blue in the master bedroom was perfect - and what a difference from the plain, white walls!
10:00 that door “frame” absolutely should be turned into an outdoor metal table!
I also envisioned it as a table. He does love some epoxy work. Perhaps a cedar picture framed epoxy filled table with the metal inset for the roof deck area?
The Apothecary / library cabinet would make an excellant storage space for coffee, tea and spices in the area near the kitchen / dining rooms. Maybe integrate it near a beverage center.
good idea!
This is a cool idea! He should also be able to find those cards still, could dedicate a few drawers to recipe cards as well.
this! it could also be a good place to store less-used tools or bits and bobs that you want to have around a kitchen but tend to end up in a junk drawer - pens, post-its, bag sealing clips, bottle opener… minimise the mess and label the heck out of it!
The library card file would make a FANTASTIC spice cabinet!
Cannot believe it's been 4 years already!
When I was a kid I always fantasized about buying an old building in my area and converting it into a big cozy home. That's why I subscribed to you all these years ago. To watch how the craziest of ideas may come true.
Huge respect and good luck on your new adventures!
Thanks!
I've been watching this channel for 6 years now. Missed the past 6 months of episodes...life the gets in the way. Glad to see the renovation is finished.
Finally dude! I don’t know if you remember me but I’ve been watching from the beginning, love this stuff glad to see it
thank you!! glad to have you along!
@@modustrial you ever consider replying with something of substance? It's always "Thanks!" or "Good Idea" how about some substance? I'd rekkon it's your employee responding to comments.
@@Runb4ithitsu a thank you is a thank you, settle down
I've been following you since before this building was purchased. You have come a long way! Also rip Kitty. She was such a beautiful cat. I remember the art you made for her.
Me and my girlfriend have been following your journey since you bought the place in the first video. So so so satisfying see you achieve such a high quality result! Congratulations and all the best to you! Cheers from Australia!
Idea for the iron door decor: Turn it horizontally, shape like a dog bone, add some pegs for hanging, and use to store Tex's wardrobe and leashes! Or cut it and use for tabletop-epoxy it like stained glass.
You should be unapologetically proud! Your home looks amazing! I can't wait to see what you do in the commercial space!!!
Been watching since the beginning, congrats!!
Thanks!!
I remember your first video on this project! I kept thinking that it would take 20 years... I'm so happy for you. It's amazing.
For the old store front ornament... maybe cut it in half horizontally and then have each part as a the side of a chest of drawers, or something similar? Been watching all 50 episodes of this series. Great job and congratulations! Enjoyed watching them all!
Wow, I can't believe it's been over 4 years since you started this series! It's been so cool to follow the progress and even better seeing how amazing it turned out!
Well, you did it. I have to say, I've followed you through this entire endeavor. You took ugly and made it handsomely beautiful! 🎉CONGRATULATIONS 🎊
Thank you for sharing your journey. You are a true craftsman, artist, maker, and builder.
thank you for the kind words!
This is incredible. Please adopt me so I can live there too. Also, having a map that shows your movement through the space is SOOO helpful for giving us spatial awareness during the tour. Loved that thoughtfulness.
Started watching the series when I was in college (remotely) and now having a full-time job 1 year in..man, how the time flies.
Stuff ideas: I'd remove the legs on the card catalog and make a niche in the kitchen wall and use it for loose tea or spices. The iron door guard I would suspend from the ceiling as a pot rack.
Congratulations! I wasn't able to watch all of the videos, but it's been great seeing the renovation over the years.
Thanks! Happy to have you along for whatever time you have to watch :)
Former Chicagoan here. Great job on the renovation! I vote the card catalogue becomes a 'wine rack' with the bordering drawers for the bottles and something fun (not sure what) done to the face of the interior drawers. Sand and finish, paint...Just a thought.
You were still living at your previous residence when I came on board & liked the reno on this current building you were about to start. I've seen most of the build however & I had a meltdown myself & took a hiatus from UA-cam for more than 12 months, slowly but surely, I'm again finding my old favorite channels. Amazing work & lots of stress I'm sure, then your life changing health issue to get though. Love the finish. Thanks so much for sharing. Cheers Billy J.... Queensland, Australia.
Great to see Kat's work on your hallway wall too. The renovation of the building was absolutely amazing. It's really fun to revisit all of your work from the last few years.
yes, her skateboard looks fantastic in the hallway!
You hesitating about calling your wall decor “art” is nuts!!! Everything you make is art, man! The furniture, lights, and creations all around your home take tons of vision and imagination 🤩
I remember very well watching the first episode of this renovation. The whole story of leaving all comfort zone to start this big of a project. I’m genuinely happy that the hard work paid off big time. Sure is an inspiration and demonstration that you just have to belief and trust and go for your dreams.
What a trip! I cannot believe it has been 4 years! I remember the earlier episodes! Absolutely incredible! I’m so happy for your grant opportunity! so exciting!
The building looks amazing. It's crazy that it's all done. It's the end of an era.
I’m an attorney and my dream is to build/buy a building to house individuals who are unhoused. This is pretty inspiring. Congratulations on getting it done!!
I remember during covid seeing you bought it but was like dam thats a lot of work. Wow here we are. Honestly inspirational for a young engineer like me
What a journey Mike! Thanks for bringing us all along for the ride and the end result is no surprise...amazing!
I remember starting this series during Covid thinking this was going to be a fun quick thing to watch to cure my boredom. little did I know that it was going to be 4 years long. kinda bittersweet to see it finished
I remember when we were all locked inside, I loved your videos so much. I must have been missing them the last few years and I've been wondering what happened to you and your place. Thanks for the final tour! Looks great!
WOW man! I can't believe it's been 4 years! Your work is incredible! Thx for taking us on the journey! Ready for the movie! The PRIMARY bathroom is my fave!
I've been here since the first week, and it has been a fantastic trip. I remember watching Bob Vila on This Old House with my Dad when I was a kid. During your renovations, I was able to watch with my sons and connect with them in a more “cool” setting than TV. Your new home looks amazing. Congratulations!
I can’t believe it’s already Finished!! Your home has truly become a beautiful work of art. I LOVE all of your architectural pieces throughout your home! Great job :))
The new place is truly amazing. It’s been a fun 4 years watching this space progress into what it is now. But I still can’t get over the loft that you left when you decided to move. That place was my dream living space since I was a kid.
Been watching since the old place. Congrats dude. A full circle moment most people dream of. The final result shows all of your hard work and dedication, and feels people like me with admiration. Hope you get a chance to kick your feet up and enjoy it for a while.
Started watching when our college was forced to go remote. I have to admit, as an instructor your channel saved my sanity!! I looked forward to seeing new videos in between lesson planning. Congratulations and looking forward to seeing many more projects!!👏🏾👏🏾
I remember when you made the video in your old penthouse talking about moving and i was like wtf. But what an awesome move and a fun journey. Great job brother.
I subscribed so many years ago because I wanted to see the final product - however long it took - and look you giving me this video on my birthday.
Cheer's and blessings; may I become you when I grown rich.
I watched the first few episodes of this when they were coming out, and fell out of watching it and forgot about the series. Now this shows up in my feed and I haven’t seen your face in years and the place looks amazing. I think you built the light above the island in the last episode I watched. I love the place it looks amazing, congrats on the good job!
I remember watching the first 10 or so episodes of this project and then youtube took you out of my feed and I had completely forgotten about it. Seeing it done makes me happy! Great job it turned out amazing
I've been watching this since day one. I knew that it would be an amazing series, I just wasn't prepared for how amazing it really is. That library card catalog was the google of my day.
I love the library card cabinet. I have one with 45 drawers. I keep all of my art supplies that will fit in the drawers. Brushes, tubes of paint, jewelry making supplies, et al. Congratulations on a job well done!!!
Been following the project since the beginning. Through highs and lows. It's been awhile but the place turned out incredible. 👏 Wish I had an amazing living/work space like that. 👍 You have impressive creative/building skills and made some very cool stuff for the place.
You must be so proud.
I can't believe it's been 4 years. It seemed to fly so quickly. The workmanship is top notch, perfect and I hope you never decide to move out of there. Good luck on the new projects. I will continue to be on the lookout for future videos.
I remember when you first bought this house
I can't believe it's been 4 years since then
Been watching your renovation for years. You are living my dream. Congratulations. #312
I was here since day 1 of renovation and I've enjoyed every single episode. I can only ever dream of being able to do what you did. Congrats!
I’ve been here from the start I can’t believe it’s actually finished now. Amazing work on this your channel is the channel that actually got me into woodworking!
I’ve really enjoyed the entire building series and how you also slipped in some “classic” MM builds throughout. The primary bedroom really turned out nice. Will have to steal some of those design ideas. Congrats on finishing the living space of the building and the grant to upgrade the main level.
I remember watching your first video, life has been a roller coaster in those four years. Congrats mate, looks great.
so glad the youtube algorithm brought me back to this series to see the finished result. I've been keeping up[ here and there throughout the years but so glad I could catch the reveal in time.
Been following this for 4 years! Great and inspirational work.
If you don’t already have something for this purpose the wood filing cabinet would make a great place organize and store phone cords, computer cords, charging blocks, etc.
How terrific to renovate an old building and preserve for the future. And most impressive is the array of DYI high quality components to the build. Looks fantastic.
Crazy how i watched the first few episodes then life took over and i'm catching up to this episode.....what a crazy ride
Your channel appeared in my video list one day and when I saw the first video of you renovating this building I knew it was gonna be an exciting project watching you. I have to say you did an amazing job!!!
WOW. i saw the very first episode 4 years ago and what you did is unbelievable, i can't even believe its been 4 years 😮
I remember watching the first video and several videos after that when I was preparing for university, it doesn't feel like it's been 4 years now and it's time for me to prepare for graduation. Congratulations!
Congratulations, Mike, you should be very proud of all the work you've done. I still remember your video showing your old apartment, so I guess I've been watching for quite a while. Can't wait to see what your next plans are!
As an Architect, you have built a beautiful home. Enjoy ! Start to finish I liked every video you put out
Just INCREDIBLE!! Loved following along and being a part of this journey. It looks amazing!!!
I've been following you since your early days, your creativity and drive never cease to amaze me!!! Your success is 110% deserved, congrats bro!
I've always wanted a city loft exactly like this. I'm super jealous! It's gorgeous.
Can't remember why I started watching this channel, but it has been one entertaining and informative video to the next. Congrats on an awesome space! May you enjoy every inch of your labour of love. 😀
DUUUUDDEEEEE!!! It's so cool to see everything four years later. I still remember clicking on the first video you put out for this series. Look at you now!!!! You've worked so hard and you have a dope house and workplace to show for it. Congrats on everything and I can't wait to see what you have in store for us next! (And thank you for inspiring me to start some of my own designs and renovations!)
epic...watched everything over these last 4 years and just wow what a final product. a home you can truly live in forever and feel proud every step u take in it! kudos to you !!!
i have been here since the beginning.... congrats... u did a lot of hard work and you should be proud of yourself... wish i was as half as dedicated as you!!!
Mate it looks bloody brilliant, the added street art sets it off nicely.
Super contemporary.
Crazy to think I’ve been subbed for 4 years, went through covid, finished high school and started university since the start of this project!
Have I really been watching you work on that house for four years now? Dang .
Thanks for the great content and it looks like it has all paid off.
Crazy this has been going 4 years! I was worried you weren't going to continue after the chest issue but great to see you coming to the end.
I've been following your channel since the first walk-thru video. I can't believe it's been four years! But what a great series it's been. I've thoroughly enjoyed it and can't wait to see the workshop renovation.
Sir, I started watching you from the beginning, Congrats on the outstanding work and beautiful Home and Shop you have created. My Wife and i lived in Chicago 26 years till we both retired and moved back to Tenn. Stay Safe and We'll be Watching.
The State of Modustria on the Master Bedroom wall. I love it!
from Ep.1 to now, amazing series that I'm glad to have watched from the beginning. Congrats man!
i remember watching the first video, cant believe its been 4 years since then
edit: how have you not hit 1 mil subs yet😳
The last 4 years was absolutely incredible. Can’t wait to see what you do next. Great job ❤
It’s amazing following this for 4 years since the beginning. You did a wonderful job!
The first episode of your channel I watched, was the first video of this reno - loved it!
Thank you for sharing it with us 😊😊😊
I remember watching the first episode you released when I got my first apartment back in 2020. A lot has happened and I haven't been able to watch as you've released videos, but I'm happy to see you've finished it!!
Bro just casually has the best home ever, and duuuude the street art is ludicrously cool
I can’t believe it’s been that long. Wow, you did an awesome job. Sit back and enjoy… for a little while!
The apothecary could be used to store pictures of all your projects. Doing this building renovation is what brought me to the channel. Here from the beginning.
I remember your video saying your were selling your old place after all the work you put into it. I thought this guy is crazy then you dropped the bomb that you quit your job and were going to renovate the abandoned building full time for youtube. Again this guy is crazy. But with covid and shut downs and people losing their jobs I always looked forward to your next video drop. Now that it's done (part 1) and it looks amazing I no longer think you are just crazy, you are crazy talented and driven. And I hope you get that golden play button soon. You deserve it and thank you.
I've been following this since the first video and it's an incredible transformation. Everything you build is just top tier
I remember watching your channel from the first time that you acquire this building and make me to look forward on your videos since you started when pandemic happened. That helped me alot to be sane at home (watching your vids) lol while cant go anywhere but to stay home. Ohhh time flies.
Man see Man complete the abandoned building project. Man is happy now ❤
I subbed to you when you did the first episode, All your hard work has seriously paid off. It's been a treat watching you transform the space into what it is now.
That master bathroom is fantastic, you have done an amazing job with the whole renovation.
