What changes would you make to this tier list? 🤔
Flip Rise of Iron to S. Drop Forsaken to A. Forsaken was good but I think it's overjoyed. It fixed a lot of stuff but the locations of the Tangled Shore and Dreaming City were beautiful but not fleshed out with as much stuff to do as Mars was for Warming. Plus I think Wrath is a better overall raid than Last Wish.
I’m putting crota over frost hive and escalation protocol any day haha for it to be their first expansion ever which offered a short, but great raid, arguably one of the best armor sets for all classes and BLACK HAMMER. New story missions, introduction of using the hive sword around the world, Eris and so much more. All for $15. Easily A
season of arrivals needs to be looked at again.
you forgot the FREE prophecy dungeon that came out day 1
I would put curse higher coz it costed like 17 dollars and you got story raid etc. today you pay 40 dollars for the same amount of content.
I actually dunno why people hate curse.
For me personally, Shadowkeep, Season of the Chosen, and Vanilla D2 need to drop down to C Tier. I'd also probably bump Black Armory to S-Tier -- I've always thought of it as the most underrated dlc in the game's history. The biggest flaw was the three week content draught that happened before opening the forge. However, the secrets were a ton of fun. I remember all the hours I put in on Raidsecrets to work on the puzzles and Niobe Labs. Plus, Scourge of the Past was a good raid. It wasn't as lengthy as we'd have liked, but was 1000x better than Crown of Sorrow. We also got one of the most legendary weapons in the history of Destiny in Anarchy, another god-tier dps/pvp gun in Mountaintop, and other iconic exotics like Izanagi's Burden and Jotunn. Plus, like ya mentioned, the legendaries were great - Blast Furnace was a beast, Kindled Orchid was one of the best all purpose HC's in the game, and we can't forget about Threat Level or Spiteful Fang. Good times back then.
I feel like the Infinite Forest was a missed opportunity for Destiny 2 to have some sort of Roguelite-ish mode. Could have lore implications with the Vex suppressing the Light of curious guardians and scattering their abilities across the Forest. Buffs, Debuffs and experimentation with mix-matching abilities across all subclasses could of made Curse of Osiris way more interesting.
That sounds cool. Which is why Bungie didn't do that. But now....now that Bungie has Sony money now. We may get awesome stuff like this.
I remember thinking thats what the Infinite Forest could have been like before the DLC launched. It seems like with the Shattered Realm in Season 15 Bungie may be more interested in the idea. I hope they are anyway, would be super cool and would fix people’s complaints of activities being too repetitive.
@@887Bingo the money is likely to fund building the new studio and hiring employees for other projects
I think opulence is 100% S-Tier. Unfortunate that the studio making menagerie couldn’t stick around, but I really feel that it did about as much for the game as some of the bigger DLCs but to a lesser extent obviously due to being a season instead of DLC.
Thats a season not a DLC
@@jalespindeldreher7132 the video includes the dlcs and seasons
@@jalespindeldreher7132 read my comment again, I said it’s a season
@@jalespindeldreher7132 a season that felt like a DLC
YES. Opulence was literally the best season in Destiny history
The best expansions are Taken King and Forsaken, no debate.
And hopefully witch queen
Forsaken is 100% best story I have ever played and the exotics are s tier
Edit:don’t play the game anymore and I only like it because it was my first dlc I git
@@UNKNOWN-.-7641 I actually find it hard to call Forsaken the 'best'. It was a phenomenal drop, and definitely on of the best in the franchise's history. Arguably my favorite Destiny mem ory is of when I first cleared Shattered Throne, during week 1, and then did the Wish Ender quest on top of it. We played almost non-stop for days, and finished it while underpowered by 40-50.
That said, Forsaken had a lottt of issues too. We can't forget about the busted state of PvP, with OG Nova Warp running Rampant against launch-era OEM Titans. Plus, while the exotics were definitely awesome, the drop rates were some of the worst in the game's history. I only got ~5 new exotics during the Forsaken era, and thats pretty much in line with what my clanmates were getting. So yea, they were cool, but most players didn't get to try most of them until after the season ended.
Overall its definitely an S/A tier expansion, I just dont think its the best of the best
Everything else was mediocre
@@williamturner9450 well it's better than everything else. It's tied with the taken king lmao
To me Taken King has never been matched Forsaken came close but the lore, the secrets, the timing was amazing in TTK matter of fact i believe that if TTK was the first ever release of Destiny like instead of Vanilla it would have been GOTY or very close at least!!
100%
Let's just hope his sister can hold a candle to his dlc, she has potential to beat him but I doubt any dlc will
Really made the hive 1000% more interesting
@@josh6689 her sisters dlc completely changed the history of the jive
@@wolfgarthefirst5735 yeah in a weird way, they changed it so she led them into the deep and told them of the sizagy when it was oryx. I mean all the twists from the dlc were obvious anyway because the old lore hinted at it all, but why they decided to retcon some things like savi being the one to find out about the godwave and not oryx is beyond me.
The only thing savi did was listen to the worm that told her about the needle which oryx found and navigates to and piloted. The worm told her to dive, which they did and the leviathan told them to not pick the dark and wait for the light.
Savi practically did nothing on fundament it was all oryx.
You have some huge nostalgia goggles for base Destiny 1 and Dark Below. The amount of content in the base game was ridiculously low based on what was advertised, and Dark Below was the single worst expansion after Curse of Osiris. They were not good at launch. Destiny 2 Vanilla vs Destiny 1 Vanilla is so much better even with the god awful dual primaries
There's some nostalgia there but I'd argue just because something might not look good in hindsight doesn't mean it wasn't good at the time when things were simpler, people loved the dark below era at the time but comparing it to current content it will always seem lacking
Dark Below was way worse than Curse of Osiris, It had 3 bad story missions an okay strike and the worst raid in the game by a longshot. Let's not even talk about the joke of exotics it added with No Land Beyond, pre-rework Dragon's Breath, and pre-buff Necrochasm. Don't forget it preceded weapon and armor infusion so you had to regrind EVERYTHING and leave the stuff you liked behind just 3 months after the base game released. And the fuckin cherry on top was that you either had to re-earn or upgrade your exotics using a bunch of materials at Xur while hoping that one of the weapons you wanted to upgrade was in his inventory at the time. And then if you look at the story it was shit too, Eris was as one-dimensional as characters come when she was first introduced being just a revenge obsessed weirdo whose only role was to hand you your next mission while spewing nonsensical jargon in every line of dialogue.
Curse of Osiris all things considered wasn't nearly as bad on it's own, it repeated most of the same failings as Dark Below but almost all of the beef that people have with the dlc was the bad direction that Destiny 2 had taken with it's launch that was still in the game at the time. The story was alright but the problem was the tone with Destiny 2 still trying to stick with the comical whimsy stuff instead of the high sci-fi fantasy we have now. But the raid it launched was great, most people think negatively of Eater of Worlds but you'd be hard pressed to find someone who didn't like the Argos fight (unlike Crota it mattered to have more than 1 person doing stuff). And the Perfect Paradox questline with the Tomb of Saint-14 remain as core highlights of Destiny and it directly lead to one of the best seasons we ever got as a direct continuation of the storyline.
Comparing them the problems with Dark Below were problems that it itself brought with it, while the problems with Curse of Osiris were problems that had been established by Destiny 2's poor direction.
not even close, d2 vanilla was Horrible
@@unknownplayer03 You are super blinded by nostalgia. People did NOT like the dark below era. Only a couple story missions and a raid that felt more like a strike, and only 1 strike. Dark below added nothing to the game, and only dug destiny’s grave deeper after it’s terrible launch, which you also seem to be blind to. It wasn’t hailed as one of the worst disappointments in gaming history for no reason. Boring and bad campaign, horrible grind, terrible mid game and even lacking late game. To put it above stuff like ROI is such a travesty.
@@forebread9405 Take into account that it’s his opinion. Make your own list if his is this upsetting for you.
This is so interesting because season 15 was my first season, and I’ve had a great time so far. Hearing about stuff I missed and about Destiny 1 in general is always fun.
I hope you stick around, guardian. I know that the barrier to entry is whack and that you’re probably really confused in what’s going on
Ngl I miss destiny 1 so many great memories I wish they had ported it to pc instead of making 2
Year one destiny and dark below were good days to look back on, but they’re definitely not A and B tier. Both were not worth their prices and both were shit on heavily for a reason. Probably the worst point destiny has ever been in
Destiny 2 launch was the worst year of destiny history.
@@moonchild1313us that plus curse of Osiris. They made me never want to play a destiny game again.
Year 2 D1 the best
You are wrong and it’s not even a matter of opinions. D2 launch and CoO was the worst point in Destiny’s history by miles.
D1 vanilla was over-hated just because people wanted to play more but it added literally everything. Every class, subclass, weapon, armor, destination, strike, crucible map, they were all new and people don’t appreciate that.
I’d put Opulence in S tier, fun 6 man activity with surprising great loot which u could manipulate via the runes. A new raid, the tribute hall was the Cherry on top. It was an incredible time for the game
Black armoury definitely an A tier. Weapons and armour were great. Raid also ✌️👍
best title ever too, imo
blacksmith is such a humble yet gangster title. sad i will never be able to get it.
I would even argue to put black armory in the S tier! it has everything, amazing exotics (anarchy, le monarque, jotuun, izanagi), crazy complex puzzle Naomi lab, sick loots(both weapons and armors), it even had a raid! on top of all these the 4 forges were the best seasonal activity we have ever had apart from maybe the menagerie, no seasonal activities came after year 3 even remotely compared to the forges. Obviously black armory and season of opulence don't offer as much as full size expansions like forsaken or the witch queen, but for what they are, I think they are both worthy of being in the S tier, they are by far best in class, so much superior to all the seasons after year 3 that there really is no comparison.
S tier: taken king, age of triumph, forsaken, season of opulence, season of arrivals, predicted place for witch queen
A tier: house of wolves, rise of iron, warmind, black armoury, beyond light, season of the chosen, season of the lost
B tier: D1 vanilla, D2 vanilla, shadowkeep, season of dawn, season of the worthy, season of the hunt, season of the splicer
C tier: the dark below, season of the drifter, season of undying
D tier: curse of Osiris
I played them all so
I could definitely see this and prefer this much over the ranking in the vid. I'd only drop warmind and D1 vanilla one down from their current standing.
I like this a lot more than the rankings in the vid. Only difference I'd prefer is bumping up splicer and down worthy and hunt.
Warning: WQ is S tier
Season of Arrivals had the potential to be one of the best seasons but the delay of BL killed it. There was a good 6 weeks where nothing happened.
Curse of Osiris isn't worse than the pile of turd that was the Dark below. I'd put it up with the other C tier expansions. RoI also isn't better than SK, I'd switch places.
Not gonna lie, I wanna see someone rank these in alphabetical order. I feel like ghat would be pretty fun and chaotic, especially the ones that don’t start S-F
Wait you do realize that means Shadowkeep would be S-tier and Forsaken would be F-tier 👀
@@trickytreyperfected1482 Yeah bug F is higher up than S on the alphabet....
i just dont understand how you put beyond light and the dark below on the same level. the dark below was really really bad in hindsight, the only saving graces being a vendor refresh and crota's end. even the small seasons nowadays have more content then that expansion
I agree with most of the list expected season of arrivals I feel like it well deserves a spot in A tier as it had a lot of content that held us out pretty close to beyond light even when they kept pushing the release back it still felt like the season gave us some thing to grind
I think opulence was my favorite time in destiny 2. i personally liked the raid. I loved the lore, feeling, and gear of that season.
This new one is S tier for sure.
havent watched ur vids in a while since I stopped playing destiny 2 but man hearing you again brings back nostalgia
With the renewed focus on foundries, here's hoping we see the Black Armory weapons again.
Probably with worse rolls, but i‘d still be excited af
Destiny 1 base game at A tier? You are crazy man. The game and story were a C tier experience at best. Dark Below was another C tier. House of Wolves was B tier. Destiny 1 became S tier at Taken King, and following that releases were A tier.
Destiny 2 has followed the exact same path. Base game was D tier. Curse of Osiris was F tier. Warmind was C tier. Forsaken was S tier. Shadow keep was C tier, Beyond Light was A tier.
He also put season of the Worthy as B tear which is absolutely insane. That season was universally regarded as utter trash by pretty much the entire player base.
Ain't no way The Dark Below is not in F tier. Also, House of Wolves is not better than Warmind. RoI is also at B tier with Shadowkeep. You seem to be very generous to D1, but you'd actually be amazed at how bad RoI and the other D1 expansion were if you look at them again. Objectively of course.
Love your content man! Wish you put more out!
Thanks, more to come!
@@unknownplayer03 AWESOME!
Honestly I’d probably put some things down a bit and also move 30th anniversary up to A and opulence to S but it’s a pretty good list
Great list. Honestly, I think season of the undying wasn’t as bad. I would probably put in the C ranking. Season of the Worthy, I would put it in the D ranking. Season of the Hunt, to me, is between C and D.
Honestly I’d put splicer in A tier because it was very anticipating. Every week we would look forward to something new and drama to mix up (Osiris being more sus and lakshmi with the eliksni). Wonderful video!
I really hope this DLC brings you back to making more videos. Warmind season may not of been the best but your weekly videos made the season so great
You got yourself a new Subscription! I adore you for putting my Favorite Dlc Forsaken In S Tier. It is STILL my favorite DLC in 2022!
Keep up the work bro
👊
Sir, you haven’t shown up on my feed in a minute. Glad all is well
I have been playing this game since the Dark Below, and it’s amazing how far this game has come
I started to play from Rise of Iron, met a couple of players I grinded into D2 lauch through Forsaken year release… great memories and laughter
Wow it is crazy and both amazing to see how far Destiny has come. It almost seems like time is flying huh, I got into Destiny with the release of Destiny 2 I always wanted to play Destiny 1 but unfortunately did not have the time too at that point.
The launch of Destiny 2 was rocky that I will say, it did lack content and certain features that I thought should have been there by default. However Forsaken expansion was a MASSIVE turning point and honestly ever since then I have been hooked into playing Destiny 2. I really am happy and glad that Bungie turned things around with Destiny and that it is heading in an amazing direction. Shoutout to their consistency and perseverance.
Unknown Player: Forsaken was the taken king of Destiny 2.
Witch Queen: Hold my beer.
Dont think something can beat forsaken content wise, nearly impossible
Haven’t watched your content since like 2015/16 so watching a few of your videos rn feels like going through a time warp
I think opulence and black armory could be in S tier, considering the immense amount of content they provided for only being a season. forges, menagerie, plus both of them had a raid(!) which you wouldn’t get in a simple season now
EDIT: also niobe labs was such a great community puzzle
I can agree with pretty much everything except Season of the Worthy. That was definitely my all time low in Destiny. I couldn't stand that season. I played from Felwinters and The Fourth Horseman and nothing more
I agree with this. I hated how the main activity of the season was a public event that was a headache to complete. Same with arrivals, although that was arguably more fun.
I went back to d1 after i got all the missable items from season of the worthy
@@ThePresidentofMars very upset because I loved the ornaments from worthy but I could not bring myself to touch it
This is a really good list
As a long destiny player I think that every destiny game, dlc, season is s tier. It’s just this game is so unique and it just brings so many memories especially taken king.
Curse of Osiris was unironically one of my favorite DLCs. Loved the story, loved the location, LOVED the final bossfight with Panoptes. 10/10 expansion
Dawn has been the best season (non-expansion) in Destiny history for me. Crazy weapons, new archetypes, really cool activity, FANTASTIC story, and a super sick puzzle event that I think everyone forgot about for some reason.
I wish I played Destiny then, I took a break for 2-3 seasons and missed that one. It's a shame Destiny in a way just couldn't have all of its content without anything ever being deleted huh?
Witch Queen is definitely S tier
Beyond Light is one of my favorites solo because it was just so shocking and exciting. I never knew what would happen, ya know? The lore building of the darkness and such, was just an S tier for me. It made it crazy exciting. Witch Queen is obviously right behind it for me, it did most things right. Forsaken is third for me, for obvious reasons and then Shadowkeep (which is solely because of that final cut scene and that is the only reason lol. Most others are honestly A or B tiers, Curse of Osiris being the only one that I would say goes to being F tier
Rise of Iron will always be my favourite. I dont know why but the Young Wolf exotic quest is my most favourite of all time, something about the snow, music and firepits.
One of the few lists you've done where i pretty much completely agreed.
Bro the taken king story was so dope!
Great tier list tbh
I’m surprised you didn’t mention the deep stone crypt raid for Beyond Light
I'd put the 30th anniversary on A tier because of the crucible ability changes. It made things so much better. Shatterdive nerf, TTD nerf, different grenade cooldowns, etc
So many memories locked in to one game. Rise of Iron was my favorite. Cheers.
I remember playing the d1 beta and spent hours on the Walker I didn’t know you could shoot the legs 😭
You forgot to mention the famous frase "Two Tokens and a Blue" in Cursed of Osiris
This is my type of tier list 😎
Opinions, everyone has them :)
I played D1 a little, never got to Vault of Glass as I was completely a solo player back then. But it was a lot of fun at the time.
I enjoyed the 30th anniversary drop, although it got a little grindy in the middle there.
That said, I eagerly await Witch Queen and hope it lives up to the hype.
the april update back in d1 was prob my favorite time period in all of destiny ngl
speaking of Mars, I literally miss Mars so much bruh, like I loved doing escalation protocol it was literally my favorite public event to do in d2
I remember when I first got destiny and it was by accident but I don’t regret it
Season of the Drifter was amazing, loved it.
I personally enjoyed curse of Osiris especially for time constraints
I wish i could remember my experiences with D1 expansions to make this list but it’s been soooo long.
hot take: red war was in my opinion the coolest campaign in d2. I loved it sm I replayed the beginning so many times
Witch Queen will be the next Forsaken/Taken King based on time and setup. I started playing right after Season of Opulence dropped, and I haven’t looked back :)
I hope for Destiny 3 they will keep all the content in the game as a player who started in 2021 and played Forsaken, Shadowkeep, Beyond Light, and Witch Queen and the year 5 seasons. I wish I could experience all that old content.
D3 won’t be coming out they will just keep updating d2
@@cedrichenry3129 I'm saying whenever they do.
Wasn't there an April update during taken king dlc? It was about a prince of taken that looked like his brain would come out when almost defeated.
cheers mate, broke my monitor watching this
Hope to see more uploads during witch queen
I gochu
I started during House of Wolves, one month before Taken King. Such fun times
I'd put the anniverary event to C tier. Only because of price and I just felt underwhelmed. I'd also put season of Arrivals in A tier because, I felt that it grabbed my attention more and actually kept me playing for most of the season. It was the first and so far only season I grinded and got to level 50 on the season pass on day one
Sad to see og April Update wasn't included. I feel like that should count to this.
Despite how small dark below was, it was definitely one of my more favourite DLC's, specifically for how fun the raid was, (yes I'm blinded by nostalgia because of it but nothing I can really do about that because the raid was just too good...)
Honestly its quite fun remembering all those times your teammates would constantly grind the raid to get the gjallahorn (unless they do the VoG which was also a poggers raid which is now in D2 with slightly changed mechanics)
It wasn't 'The best' but it wasn't 'The worst' either, the DLC's size did make it very lackluster but the raid was probably the only thing keeping the players interested in the DLC overall to which I can't blame them because Crota's End was a pretty good raid for what it was back then.
In a way, dark below and curse of osiris share similarities, one had more story missions while the other didn't, one had a raid and the other didn't, and funny enough curse of osiris being destiny 2's first DLC does mirror the dark below quite a bit.
But if I were to choose between dark below and curse of osiris, I'd definitely choose dark below, it just felt more alive compared to curse of osiris, metaphorically speaking.
(Energy sword)
1 Mail ability: honor guard = get a over shield after 5 kills.
2: melee attack.
3:Eager egde.
4:element swap
(Soler)
(Aric)
(Void)
Catalyst: crouching Grinch invisibility
600 kills
Me and my dad played the destiny alpha and than played the real game on launch day.
We made 2 different characters and would take turns playing.
He was aways a hunter and I was aways a titan.
Anyway my dad Eventually stopped playing until forsaken, and I never quit.
I played from Launch all the way to black armory and than I quit. Now I returned and I made a new character and it’s a warlock which is a class I’ve never played and wow.
Alot has changed and it’s very overwhelming.
Agree with most of these ranking. I would put rise of iron in s tier. I loved the pve of the beyond light expansion. That was my first time playing D2 a lot since forsaken. However it was the beginning of the end for crucible. I have not really been able to consistently play crucible since Beyond light. Its a horrible gameplay mode.
I have always felt bungie just needs to stick to expansion and then do the triumphs just to tide us over until the next expansion.
The seasonal content just burns me out. Its just repeatable hoard mode activities thats boring. At this point Bungie is more about making cash than making quality focused content. However i hope there is an shift with Witch Queen.
I don’t think that dark below was their hardest work crunch, as I think that title goes to halo 2
True!
Well most of bungie that worked on Halo is gone now, which might explain the downgrades of the games in general.
I'd move the 30th pack up one tier and season of the lost down 1 tier but, I think this is a very agreeable list. EDIT: I'd also put Rise of Iron in like an A+ or S- tier.
To me age of triumph was the absolute best time of destiny and nothing had or ever will come close, you had so much to grind for it just made the game so much fun
My favorites are house of wolves, dark below, taken King, forsaken, and beyond light.
Taken king might’ve been one of the best fucking times of my life
I had pretty much given up on destiny 2 around Curse of Osiris/Warmind. I just didn't find it appealing at that point but I came back for Forsaken loved the Black Armory season and season of Opulence and been playing since
I remember playing destiny a lot. I started right about when forsaken came out and was f2p for a while until shadowkeep when I decided to buy both forsaken and shadowkeep. I kept playing right until beyond light came out and I didn't want to spend more money (there was not much to do without the expansion) so I stopped playing. I heard its gotten worse since then, should I pick it up again?
My one problem with black armory was that with the exotic vault you get damn blueberries spamming jotuun
The Taken King is arguably one of the greatest revivals we’ve ever seen in a video game
I really enjoyed shadowkeep especially for price and the content we got I would put it at low A tier
You missed with season of opulence. Crown of Sorry was an incredible raid. Menagerie and heroic menagerie were top tier. And weapons were incredible. East S Tier. And it has the best title (Shadow)
I'd put season of arrivals in A tier or even S tier but I'm biased cause that's when I really started getting back in to destiny
Curse of Osiris was dope to me. Weapons looked cool too
I’ve played all of them except the very first part of Destiny. I got it for Christmas the year it launched which was right in the middle of the Dark Below.
I don't think I agree with a single placement on this list but good vid🙂
Hmmm. Well, I think my ranking really depends on whether we’re talking about how good the content drop itself was or how good the game felt to play at that period. If it’s the former, then in my opinion Taken King and Forsaken are the only S-tiers, but if it’s the latter, then Age of Triumph, Season of Opulence, and IMO the 30th anniversary are all also S-tier.
All of the destiny 1 dlcs were absolutely amazing
What is better taken King or forsaken?
Im confused how unknown completly forgot about the raid 'scourage of the past' considering that it came out right after forsaken which also had a raid alongside all the other stuff.
After Witch Queen coming out I think it’s a solid S tier: (edit) so far
It’s the best dlc.
I wish I could go back and play season of the undying cause it was the first one with a season pass and I didn't max it out before I stopped playing, and now I can't get those ornaments
I personally think that Season of the Dawn is A-tier. Definitely was the best season of the Shadowkeep era. The lore, the trailer, the missions, the exotics, all the weapons from the sundial were great (unfortunately sunset) and Saint-14 coming back was really huge. All of this in about 3 months it was a really, really good season.
I have a bit bias about the season of the splicer because that was when I came back to destiny when I left at the season of dawn but splicer brought back VOG. Another raid for pve-ers to do other then Deepstone and last wish.
The fact that witch queen isn't on here reminds that season of the lost was just that long
I would move some of the seasons down a bit, but honestly great list nonetheless
I loved playing the red war campaign i had a lot of fun doing it probably because i didnt have a whole lot of gins and stuff it was easy but fun. I also miss io so much favorite planet hands down even better than dreaming city
Where you find that website?
i stop playing around the time of season of drifter i only just started playing again so i have to buy all the expansions i have missed and get used to all the changes
Taken king was a huge one for Bungie, it got loads of hype and that's where I started playing.
I really didn't like the Destiny 2 launch and that's where I stopped playing but started again like a month ago and I'm really enjoying it again
Taken King hits different
