Im told i have to take pred the rest of my life, because of severe adrenal insufficiency. I've taken prednisone high dose at first, then 20mg/day since 2004, for Myasthenia Gravis. I suspect i have steroid myopathy. Im between a rock and a hard place.😢 I'm bedridden at the moment about to start palliative care, which i pray will help.
I fully agree, yes leg thighs hurt as if I ran a marathon every day, and legs are weak, shivering sometimes. and those symptoms never were an issue before. started with 40Mg, and now down to 15 mg, and is getting more painful.
I was on a 40mg dose for a couple of weeks. Stopped Prednisone a couple weeks ago and am still dealing with muscle weakness in my legs and arms. Walking 20-30 minutes a day is ridiculously difficult. While cleaning my house I have to repeatedly sit down and rest and am sweating so much my shirt is wet and my hair is dripping. It's ridiculous.
I lost about 9lbs of muscle and gained about 9lbs of fat while taking 60mg of prednisone for 2 months for an autoimmune disease flare up. I also notice that my hands shake and I'm not sure if it is real or just in my mind, but I feel like I drop things more frequently than I used to. Hopefully all that will go away when I get off the prednisone. I needed the prednisone to survive, but now I have to live with the consequences. A deal with the devil.
I had the hand tremors while on Prednisone. Now 2 weeks off of it the hand tremors have stopped. But I still have to take HTN meds to manage the stroke level HTN I was experiencing, still have facial edema and still have the muscle weakness in my arms and legs.
This is devastating to me. I was injected with 80mg. Of kenalog. I0 weeks ago. I now have muscle atrophy in my leg. Horrible pain in my leg. I'm now suicidal. I never needed this injected in the first place. I'm so depressed and hopeless. I was never informed in any of these side effects. I need a reason to live now.
@amygentry4351 I understand your pain! Thrombocytopenia was given to me in 2006 when I was given two antibiotics which had an adverse reaction in my body. Drug induced Thrombocytopenia Purpura. It took me until this year to finally call it that because for years, when I would tell the Drs I got it from the antibiotics, they would tell me I didn't get it from that. But I know I did. Rifampin and trimethoprim. So I looked on UA-cam to find a video that showed it and I found it and screen shot it so when I tell whoever from now on, they will know that I DID GET IT FROM THE ANTIBOTICS! for a while, I was very depressed and the prednisone did not help, but now I'm in year 18, and the Lord has brought me through time and again. Don't give up! It's easier said than done, but you can get through it. I had my last flare-up at the end of last year and was in the hospital on New Years. My platelets were at 1,000, and I was very weak, but I made it through! We can do it! 😊😊😊
I took 40mg prednisone this morning for my skin allergy. And this night I’m having numbness on my arms and leg is it normal? This is the first time I’m taking it.
That's a tricky situation. Definitely talk to your doctor about it. Potentially you could feel better if you go back on it again, but it's hard to tell whether it's withdrawal or something else, so you need to discuss with your doctor.
@PrednisonePharmacist hey mam can you please explain why you saying it's hard to tell if it's withdrawal or another thing I was at the clinic yesterday and all my vitals are okay so could it be my body creating cortisol on it on ???
When I was in nursing school they gave us a 15 page list of potential prednisone side effects. It was insane.

Life is worth it!!! You will recover! It may take a while, but you will recover.

I'm not sure about that. I don't know why not, but haven't researched that.
