Hi Dr. Ryan. Great videos. My question is the medications mentioned in the dental management section needs to be stopped prior to any dental surgery is what you mentioned. Do we need to stop them even for elective dental treatments as well or just surgeries?

The way I had to remember Addison disease was: “ ADD SUN” to the skin (= bronzing)
Love this!
This symptom is only present in SOME Addisonians and only occurs before diagnosis because it is caused by high ACTH levels stimulating melanin. It also doesn’t cause an all-over tan but can cause darkened skin over joints. This symptom disappears after steroid treatment is initiated.

John F kennedy diden't have nothing but light Skin and he had Full blown Addison's being on Adderall high doses just to make to a Speach? strange how that works. He must have been very depressed emotional like i when put on high doese of Adderall. Don't want to become tolerant a few years after adderall? its not pleasant at the least.

hello mental dental. i have read and heard that a person who has trouble recovering from adrenal fatigue may have an underlying dental or respiratory infection. if a person doesnt have any noticable dental issues and nothing showing on x-rays, would you know anything about deep internal dental infections that you could discuss? ty

Hi Thank you for your time. I want to ask you what is the difference between Cushing exogenous and Addison"s adrenal insufficiency please?
The difference is what causes the adrenal insufficiency, either taking too many chronic glucocorticoids (exogenous Cushing) or an immune-mediated destruction of tissue that produces natural glucocorticoids (endogenous Addison).
@@mentaldental I should have listened to the FDA when they did not aprove metabolic steroids. but i did not . Poison ivy swelling 4 years ago or longer injection high dose dexamethisone . 2 years of phsychosses grave death like depression and only eat if family came to force me paranoid worse than ptsd . some broozing for a month Vertigo suicidal ideation roid rage loss of friends family understanding life change and doctors let me suffer and put me on amphetamines but nothing to do with what caused it. my doc said induced cushings but has no treatment. some recovery but still waking shaing deppresion fog 2 hours to feel a little better. coffee helps amphetamines only last 4 hours . i guess its the rest of me for life. may be they dont know how to level don't know for sure.
I have a personal question I was on budesonide 3mg for 6 weeks (42 days) 3 capsules per day (9mg). Total of 126 capsules. I have been scheduled for all 4 wisdom teeth (impacted) extraction under sedation next week. Would I be at risk of Cushing's syndrome? I should have discussed it with my Dr. but I totally forgot after hearing about four impacted molars ( I went to extract just one).
Yes? 1 injection of Dexamethasone 6 years ago and started out with Depression easy bruising like an Elderely patient with ostioporosis. 8 months about of horrifying PTSD induced with Cushings like Syndrome . the easy bruising went away after a coupl,e months ? but, the Mental and Vertico Cushings like drags on with eventually lost friends and family understanding. Wouldn't wish this on my worse Enemy. a lot or some don't go through what i did as Sevier but a chance is a Gamble. if you have any emotional problems or any type of mental illnes then be expected to Double it including Fear ,Depression and even psychoses. its some thing to do with Spike Protien SSRI SSAD of the Brain and Adrenal cortisol but can't explain it but hope this gives some what a better idea by my experience. Still waking depression shaking but lesser and does not last as long . also having Vigil symtoms and goes away and comes back but happening less often but i can't kid my self for it gets very frustrating with confusion at times.
if cortisol causes immune suppression then why is the immune system compromised in addisons disease (which is a low production of cortisol)?
