Love the way USA doctors say 'discuss it with your doctor'. Here in Uk none have the time to discuss anything and if it was not for the internet I would never find out anything. Thanks for this. Thought about asking for prednizone but the side effects seem worse than what I am suffering now. See no point in it. Maybe one day when things get beyond anything I can stand.

That’s because you and us have socialized bs medicine. I’d you are on Medicaid in the us…… like me. It’s a 2 month wait for an endoscopy lol. Have a hole in your esophagus? Oh well. At least you got free insurance that’s useless right?
Utter trash. Worst part is…. If you are on Medicaid they won’t let you pay cash for services because you technically shouldn’t have the money. Anyone ever heard of borrowing money? Or family that will give you the money? It doesn’t matter to these quacks.
Then leftists laugh when you call socialized medicine the death panels. We’ll prove me otherwise then.
      “Well you get cheap prescriptions”!
Yeah…. For useless medicine that doesn’t work or generics that are garbage. Story about that too. I take esomeperozole for acid reflux. Paying cash sucked but….. when I got a generic 90 day supply for 1$ I was excited…. Until it didn’t work worth a crap. Because I was taking trinhydrate and it worked well for me, the pharmacy gets a diff generic what seems like every few months. I was given dihydrate. Didn’t work nearly as well.
So you can get poor medicine, poor access, and poor doctors. But it’s free! Lol. I’d rather borrow or find the money. Screw govt insurance and acre Barack lying Hussein Obama and his “if you like you doctor you can keep your doctor” lies! All lies.
Hope you have nothing urgent if you are on US Medicaid it’s a disaster. Just go insuranceless and pay cash. If you goto the hospital just don’t pay, they’ll work with you on a payment plan or give you a grant anyways. This insurance is useless besides low cost prescriptions that may or may not even work.

Think about this. They fine you in our country if you don’t have insurance. So you gotta be on Medicaid or pay out the nose for insurance or pay a fine. It’s bullshit. Leftist bullshit. The left OWNs this and passed it without one republicans vote. That’s a fact!

Yes, don't get too excited. Most doctors, if not all, will prescribe the FDA approved protocol for diseases they don't completely understand and they won't discuss any other treatment plans.

I took prednisone for two weeks. Being in my late 20s in decent health, I statistically was extremely unlikely to have any side effects after stopping the medication. I tapered off the medicine and experienced 72 hours of excruciating body pain, intense abdominal pain, kidney pain, intense nausea and vomiting, severe diarrhea, and the worst brain fog, lightheadedness, and dizziness of my entire life. With the state of US healthcare, I was essentially told by multiple doctors that I have a stomach bug and to tough it out. Regardless of what doctors say, I am 100% convinced this drug caused my suffering and will be unlikely to ever take the medicine again.

I took Prednisolone eye drops for about two weeks and I had the nausea and stomachaches too, and I’m still dealing with the brain fog, dizziness, and acne. It’s gotten to the point where I’m freaking out all the time cause it feels like nothing is real anymore. I’m in my early 20s and I just want to feel normal again. The eye doctors never told me about any potential side effects or that it was even a steroid until after I started my doses.

I agree...I haven't had any serious side effects so far. But I'm willing to take the risk because I couldn't walk straight for 4 months because of constant nonstop arthritis. I had been taking medicine left to right that hadn't been working. Just steady limping and in pain. My 1st dosage of prednisone and I'm walking without pain or limping. I'm on a tapering dosage. 8 days total. I don't know how long it will work but I am happy to be able to walk after 5 months.

I’ve used prednisone for swelling from injuries and pain in my joints short term and it works great!! It took forever to get diagnosed but I’m glad I can finally have some relief. I was given an injection of Prednisone in the Doctors office for bronchitis a few weeks back. Also a Prednisone dose pack for 21 pills tapering each day until the last pill was taken. I was having difficulty sleeping with the med but didn’t seem to have any major problems until: The day after I took the last pill, I began having anxiety. Strong anxiety. By night fall, I was full blow out of my mind. Everything hurt my mind. ( sorry that’s a statement that may only be understood if you have experienced it). Thank God I had a wonderful supportive husband who sat with me and tried to comfort me through the most torturous night of my life. A night of feeling that you’re dying, thought pain, crying non stop. Trouble breathing. Pure Hell. Next day I was in the ER. The doc there gave me some anti anxiety meds to take and thought the symptoms would go away in the next few day to a week. He also said that he had admitted a lady in his past with prednisone psychosis. He thought I would be okay. Extremely scary stuff. I know everyone isn’t like me but I personally will never ever take the stuff again.

tongue. I went to the ER. I was given a 40 mg burst of Prednisone and a week long script. The dose was not tapered. After I was done with the scrip about a full day after I got extremely sick. I had my 3-day bounce where, in addition to a very enjoyable mood and energy upswing, all the pains in my body from knees and neck arthritis, a bruised achilles heel disappeared. And after 30 days, my 20 year long acid reflux problem (sleep destroying) is reduced by 95%! My gums always bleed when I floss my teeth. No more. Due to an undeclared arthritic condition at age 40 , I was prescribed prednisone and methotrexate. Dosage was up to 5 x 5 mg. This was taken during regular severe attacks over a 6 year period. It took me 18 months to get off the due to kickbacks. Eventually it took a long period on 0.5 mg. My body was that sensitive. I was very fit and active when this autoimmune disease hit me. Despite low calories, I put on about 3 stone, mostly Aron the trunk and face. At 66, I am still fighting back to fitness as best I can and in my best shape since the start. I have no doubts that my body is damaged from long term medications. There is much more information available now.

Recently, my liver shut down -1900 AST and ALT (Autoimmune hepatitis). I'm on my 3rd week of 40mg of Prednisone and it is doing a great job at getting Liver Enzymes down. However, I am dealing with crazy side effects... Insomnia, I feel tired but yet feel wired, I have the jitters and feel very anxious. I'm on overdrive!!! My head is clouded, sometimes a little dizzy. Think about food all the time - I've tried so hard to eat the right foods, but the urge to eat is constant! I have gained 9 lbs within 3 weeks. I have been instructed to start weaning from 40mg to 30mg/2 wks, 20mg 2wks, then 10mg for 4 weeks. Thank you Dr. for this very informative video!

My GD was diagnosed with JRA at age 2. Prednisone saved her life, even though her weight got up to 40 lbs. on the other hand, my husband was put on prednisone for his asthma, he couldn’t get off of it, was dependent on it, yes when he started taking the medication he got the moon face, gained midsection weight, all this went away the longer he was on it. He fell & broke his shoulder, I knew it was due to the prednisone. He had massive heart attack at age 64. Prednisone is a two edged sword.

Pred acts as cortisol in the body, all cortisol steroids meds are extremely damaging. Cortisol is the stress hormone and it is a catabolic steroid, this hormone breaks down the body's muscles bones ect into sugars causing bone and muscle loss with the increased blood sugars causing weight gain. It shuts down all unnecessary system in the body from immune system to reproductive systems and sex drive, this sex hormone imbalance will then also add to weight gain. The cortisol acts on the brain directly causing mood swings and also indirectly by shutting down the sex hormones inducing menopaus like symptoms in men and women, the side effects of this can cause hot flushes, period issues, ed, anxiety, depression to name a fiew. This med is over prescribed by many doctors and if used long term its side effects may result in your doctor advising the introduction of other meds to treat these sides effects and the cycle continues out of controal, these secondary prescription meds like statins, antidepressants, beta blockers, insulin all have severe sides effects in themselves and so should also be avoided if possible. To sum up Pred and any cortisol equivalent should be avoided as much as possible.

Polymyalgia rheumatica is best treated with balanced HRT in women to include estrogen, progesterone and Testosterone. This condition is less common in men for obvious hormone reasons but if so TRT is the best treatment option and normally its only Testosterone thats required, Nandrolone taken alone or in combination with HRT or TRT is extremely effective. Cortisol is the last drug of choice for your condition, while you may feel pain relief taking cortisol it is actually making your condition worse as it will weaken your bones, tendons and muscles to the point of pain from wastage and fatigue. Cortisol also shuts down sex hormone production which is the primary cause of developing the condition PMR

God wouldn't make something that works for some and destroys others. why you don't read about what it does to others and dare say God provides it. take it in higher doses and a bit longer periods and see how you end up. your adrenals and the good feeling is a unnatural high!! this high has nothing to do with God. once your Cortisol and adrenal glands can't take the blow any more it will reverse your body things you would wish you never went through. also taking years or a life time for any possible recovery.

I was recently Diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis, Cytokine release Syndrome & PMR.
This began shortly after having one dose of the Pfizer vaccine for Covid.
I did make a complaint & voiced my concern about it to a public health nurse who not only refused to believe me, but went on by berating me & refused to assist me.
This is when I talked to my Doctor about this & requested a referral to an immunologist who then after my appointment he diagnosed me with CRS, he wasn't very helpful & stated there was nothing he could do for me & he went on to state that if I wanted to have another Vaccine I would have to go to the hospital for mitigation & I took that as a sign & thanked him & went home with no intention of doing that.
A few months later as pain got worse, I was sent to my Rheumatologist who after many tests x-rays MRI's etc he diagnosed me with PMR.
His remedy was Prednisone which I had to really think about before I was feeling confident that it would be safe, so I had a very long discussion with his secretary on this drug & after a 2 hour talk I was convinced that it was likely the only solution as the pain & Inflammation was severe enough to force me to take them.
Its been about 2 months now & I am feeling better, but not much better but enough I can live with it. His original dosage was 4 pills a day, I couldn't achieve 4 pills a day because I would forget or my need to take food with them prevented me from taking a fourth as I don't like to eat much especially when I wake up.
Anyway so I have been on 3 a day & am having acceptable results but only a week ago I request the original 4 a day because I realized I could take 2 at a time so all I would have to do is take 2 in the morning, & 2 in the evening at bed time which is when I have the worst discomfort.
I don't like to take these because they are a steroidal medication & I knew someone who died from this medication & it scared the ***** out of me.
The medication that bothers my stomach most is the Risedronate tablets that protect my bones. I bloat up like a hot air balloon shortly after I take one even with food & the stomach gets very bloated & hard & very uncomfortable.
I have also noticed that I am breaking out EVERYWHERE with what looks like HIVES.
    I just turned 58 & I feel like I am 68.
I am very depressed, very withdrawn & quarantined in my home. I am a very angry person right now :(
I had chronic inflammation since I was in my mid teens but over the past few years since my initial & only injection of the Pfizer vaccine, my health has been falling apart & pain ALL THE TIME.
I want to thank you for this video to help clarify a few things & on the only medication to help reduce the inflammation Prednisone.

I went off Prednisone about 4-5 months ago due to side effect complications. I couldn't reach my Immunologist or my family Doctor when I was having serious issues with side effects from the Prednisone unknowing to myself I had to ween very slowly off prednisone. Since then I have found a new Doctor & stopped seeing that Rheumatologist & still I am waiting for the new Doctor to review the information of symptoms & the conditions I was diagnosed with which is Rheumatoid Arthritis, Polymyalgia Rheumatica & Cytokine release syndrome.
It took some months of researching & recovering from the side effects of Prednisone to realize that I could control most of my symptoms if I had changed my Diet & start introducing an Anti-inflammatory diet & routine to help me safely manage this pain & inflammation without Pharmaceutical drugs & restrict my movements as I also have a bad hip that needs replacing which I chose to not have at this time.
I have also decided to isolate myself as well because of the Cytokine Release syndrome which makes me highly susceptible to infection & further illness caused by the aggressive nature of the CRS & my immune system.
I never had any of these issues Prior to the one & only shot of that Evil Pfizer poison.
Now I am getting the push off by all Doctors & they don't appear to show any concern & are taking their time to address it even the new Doctor, Instead they push me in another direction for tests that do NOT relate to my complaints.
At this point I am permanently isolated & I don't go far from home maybe 2 blocks then I have to come home due to the hip & Rheumatic headaches that causes me visual loss & I have been to the hospital to be tested for Giant cell Arteritis & was told the blood work they had done shows no markers that indicate the presence of GCA but did state I had a mild infection but didn't elaborate further & told me to see my Family Doctor, then stated that it could be my eye site & to see an eye doctor which I intend to do, but I also intend to see an iridologist & a naturopath & likely a homeopath as well because the current allopathic medical practitioners have lost my trust since the vaccines where pushed into the populations of our world. The professional behavior of medical practitioners has changed dramatically since then & I see a lot of hostility & belligerence in our doctors & time is passing with little to no help with these matters.
Its beyond frustrating now. I simply have no faith in the healthcare system anymore In Canada anyway.

When we asked to speak to her dr. the nurse told us he'd fled from Pa to California IMMEDIATELY after he killed my grandmother. Lesson learned? Drugs/Allopathy are NEVER the answer.

This medicine was life saving for me. I have been on prednisone for 20 years. I take it for Addisons disease. Without prednisone, i dont think i would be here. I wish i had another option to stay alive.
I had to have eye surgery due to pressure in the eyes.
I have the start of osteoprosis that i need to take more meds for. So treating the effects of this medication is problematic.

For the first couple rounds, I was incredibly frustrated when I couldn’t go to sleep the night after the last dose. Once I realized it was likely a matter of taking the steroid without the nausea-meds that could make me sleepy, I gave up on sleeping for that one night of the cycle and things became a lot less stressful. Being awake and not knowing why was the burden.

Hi doc, first of all I want to thank you for all your efforts of helping us all. My question is this... About 4 months ago, I was diagnosed with Bell's Palsy. The doctor prescribed a facial physiotherapy and daily dose of Prednisone ( Ephasol ). I took it for 2 weeks and 2 days (40 mg for a week, 20 mg for 5 days and 10mg for the last 4 days). I can now say the Bell's Palsy has been treated and my facial paralysis has gone. But I started seeing different symptoms on my body. 1. Exactly after a week of taking the medication I started hearing my heartbeat through my ears. 2. After about a month of stopping the med my right hand finger knuckles got dark and my body started shaking (slight shaking of sometimes the legs, sometimes the arms and a throbbing feeling in the back of my head). 3. Ringing ears (most noticeably in 1 ear) started 2 weeks ago. 4. A tight feeling in my forehead. Doc, are these the side effects of the medication? What is the solution?

I guess I'm in the cons camp of opinion about prednisone. My partner has been prescribed it a number of times during his life, as he has had Schuerman's disease since his teens, and gets very severe back pain. The last time he took predisone he had a severe psychotic episode, which turned him into a completely different person. I took him to the doctor, as I was frightened for my own safety, as well as his. The psychotic episodes ceased completely once he was off the prednisone. He knows he can never take it again.
