Would flaxseed help with RA? I’m at my wits end. Still on 5 mg Prednisolone after 7 months and keep having to drop Salzapirin due to liver enzymes being too high. Got osteoporosis too but on such a low income that I can’t afford loads of supplements or much food too. Help!

And yet many doctors seem to prescribe steroids without any understanding of, or regard for, the risks to the patient for developing adrenal insufficiency - and not everybody can recover to a state of normal functioning of their HPA axis and adrenal gland once they stop taking steroids, a significant number of people end up needing to take steroids every day for the rest of their lives - and believe me, adrenal insufficiency is an absolutely horrible medical condition to have to live with and most people find it has a significant negative impact on their quality of life, and it is very challenging to manage on a day to day basis or to find doctors who understand it and how to treat it.

Go ahead and mention PMR once in a while. Rheumatologists act like it doesn't exist, while it is so common. Unlike RA, prednisone is about the only helpful treatment.

What alternatives are there to prednisone that will not have these known side effects but still able to yield the same beneficial effects that prednisone does?

Ive been taken 5 2.5mg once a week since 2017 for sarcoidosis and the worst side effect ive gotten is month sours.

Again super explained, this drug is no joke. For me it works in higher dose well( severe excema) but reducing the itchy comes back. Is there a long time effect for liver and kidneys?

I took the pack 7 yrs ago for pain in my knee and neck and pain went away for few years and now just took another pack the way it was scheduled and my question is how long will affects last. Like I said first time after the pack I lasted couple years from pain and wondered if that is usual and expect this time around?

Very good, I'm on prednisolone now for my severe eczema 3 times from 60 to 0 ,but only successful in higher doses,at the end always flare up and inflammation.now I'm on azaprothine.can you make 😊same information like on prednisolone? It’s crazy that this came up on my fyp, I just got two steroid injections a week ago and my period is 3 days late.

I was given toradol 15mg IM and methylprednisolone. Improvement was noticed after 2 days and pain dissapeared after fhe last dose (after 6 days)

Oh my the doctor at the er just gave my 10 year old a dose at the hospital and sent us home with 50mg for 5 days. My kid is having very bad allergies/ breathing issues. He’s a big kid 110 now I’m scared

Im told i have to take pred the rest of my life, because of severe adrenal insufficiency. I've taken prednisone high dose at first, then 20mg/day since 2004, for Myasthenia Gravis. I suspect i have steroid myopathy. Im between a rock and a hard place.😢 I'm bedridden at the moment about to start palliative care, which i pray will help.

In prednisone since 2009 sarcoidosis. Now causing oxalates in blood and urine. Skin is shedding , bruising , bleeding , red spots , hair loss , hormonal issues , yeast. Adrenal cyst , extreme stomach pain. Muscles and lumps. Not helping on 7mg but going back up will kill me. 😢😢😢😢😢

How to download your prednisone to avoid.?I have a sister which have the same problem she has an MG.

I am currently on prednisolone 15mg per day plus methotrexate 7.5mg once a week for mucous membrane pemphigoid. I suffer no apparent side effects from both medications most probably because I only just started taking the meds since February this year and on pretty low dose. My doctor (a geriatrician) is still monitoring the right dosage balance for my condition while attempting to tapper down my prednisolone while increasing the methotrexate. Thus far blisters bound to show up once prednisolone is lowered down to 15mg despite MTX having been increased. Which made me wonder if MTX is of any help at all to my condition, it could have always been just prednisolone working? Then why should I burden my body with the extra side effects of MTX? Doesn’t taking predinisolone + MTX = 150 + 50 side effects 😅

Maybe i need some prednisone. I can't seem to stay awake very long, no matter how much sleep I have.

What if you were diagnosed with Addison’s disease and you’re not on any medication? Will this help this prednisone?
