The best sunscreen is one that you will wear and reapply! And don’t rely on sunscreen alone. Sunscreen is great but it’s not meant to be used in isolation. Sunscreen is just ONE part of sun protection. UPF clothing, hats, shade, umbrellas, and sunglasses are helpful too! The biggest thing is pick something that’s spf 30 or above because people tend to under-apply spf. You need a surprisingly thick layer to reach the SPF on the label. (So a higher spf helps you out. Even if you only apply 2/3 of what you need, you’ll still be at spf 20. ) Don’t get too hung up on mineral vs chemical! Avobenzone gets a bad rap for being unstable + breaking down but it’s actually a really really good filter for UVA protection. It just needs to be stabilized with a couple of other filters. Regina demonstrated the Tha helioplex stabilized avobenzone was still providing 70% UVA protection even after five hours. (Obviously you *should* be reapplying if you’re outdoors but hey, sh*t happens sometimes. So it’s good to know.) (There are also some amazing UVA chemical filters outside of the US including Uvinil and Tinosorb. Amazon, yesstyle and French pharmacy websites are great places to order) Also We hear this “reflecting vs absorbing” thing a ton, but it’s more complex than that! Mineral sunscreens primarily absorb UV radiation just like chemical filters. (They do reflect 5-10% but they really do absorb the UV a lot like the chemical filters.) Mineral can be good for sensitive skin and it’s less likely to irritate your eyes. If you prefer mineral formulas, which is fine, be aware that they do have shortcomings. As good as some formulations are, zinc and titanium dioxide are still likely to leave a cast on darker skin. Tinted sunscreens are your friend if you have a lot of melanin and you want a mineral sunscreen. And the tinting ingredient (iron oxides) provides additional protection against visible light wavelengths that can exacerbate hyperpigmentation. But you may want to look up reviews of people with deep skin tones testing out tinted sunscreen, because some tinted sunscreens aren’t tinted enough and can leave you looking a weird beige color instead of actually blending seamlessly into your skin. If you’re a sunscreen nerd, enjoy vids by Lab Muffin Beauty, Dr. Dray, and Dr. Idriss. Oh, and to take off your sunscreen at the end of the day, you might try “double cleansing.” Step one: use a cleansing balm, oil, or micellar water to break up the sunscreen. Step two: wash it away with your regular cleanser. Enjoy the outdoors! Get some fresh air! Get some vitamin D and endorphins! Just protect your skin too! (And know that UV is present year round, even through clouds and car windows. So don’t think that sunscreen is just a summertime beach thing!)
great! I'd also add that people get too hung up about the "every 2 hours" thing.. it does say it on the bottle, but it's unrealistic for most. Only necessary if you're swimming or doing something more active/intense like that. Truth is, 2x a day is great. Make it a habit like brushing your teeth. 1x a day is good.
The protective swimwear & hats are amazing. Yes you are covered but it doesn't make you hot. I've had melanoma so don't mind spending the money. Do not want to experience it's removal ever again.
I think she was saying that the newer ones do a good job blending in. Otherwise, yeah most of the mineral sunscreens I use don't unless there's a tint added to it.
Sunscreen is the truth!! I didn't know about the lip balm, cool!! I might have to check that out!! Thank You All for this Coverage!! May God Continue to Bless You All and Your Love Ones Abundantly With His Love In The Name Of JESUS CHRIST!! 🙏🏾🙌🏾✝️🌞🌱✌🏾🕊️
I won’t take the chance on Homosalate and how studies suggest it could be an endocrine disrupter. I need all the help I can get in that failing department. My favorites for the face are Elta MD clear and Beauty of Joesen (Korean) ❤️❤️🎉

Omg...did she go to school at Valley Girl High?
Mineral sunscreen does NOT blend into all skin tones!
Bless you for this comment. About to have us looking like Casper
It is hard to blend on all skin tones, I'm extremely fair, and had people tell me "are you OK? You look VERY white🧐” 🤣😅😩☠️

I chuckled when she said that. I have tried about 20 different kinds of mineral sunscreens & they all had me looking like MJ in Thriller.
No it doesn’t. Chemical should though for the most part.
I wish Dr. Dray was the dermatologist here.
Me too!
Black girl sunscreen for people of color. I tried it and it worked well.
All sunscreens do not blend well on us.
Why is she talking that way?
I love the supergoop

Beauty Counter and Cerave
First of all nobody is gonna put on a thick, white, pasty sunscreen on their face and run around in public with that on. 🤣.
mineral is the best! great for sensitive skin and reflects the rays :)
Badger is the best sunscreen you can buy on the market.
Dingy! Wouldn’t feel confident with her as my derm ….
LOL the dermatologist looks like a bobble head
I love watching her, she is a keeper!🎆
Reported all 3 of these previous comments.
Im sorry but who watches this?

@@Mercy2Mee 😂
That's got to be awkward
🔥🔥🔥👍….
save money, just go outside at night, no need to wear sunscreen, problem solved!
Chemical sunscreens are not unsafe.
SPF 🧴 1000
I wish, but I will turn to Sharpie black even with 1K SPF
